I quite like the way it looks, and I'd be for this sort of lifted-up-sedan look for EVs since EVs don't have the issue of high center of gravity (for the most part) anyway. More space for batteries underneath + more interior volume = win-win.

This car is actually pretty good value at least in Canada - $49k CAD base with 425km of range. That being said, I still would likely opt for the AWD variant due to the power and grip benefits offered.
Unfortunately, it doesn't qualify for Canada's Federal EV subsidy...that's a painful $5k difference currently, which puts it a bit higher priced than other EVs at that range that do qualify. It kinda prices itself out of the competition that way outside of buyers that really like Volvo.

I would buy this Polestar base model over the model 3 base, although I don't think the Polestar is a lot better than the model 3. The Polestar dash and interior seem a little awkward, yes I understand it's a carry-over from an old platform. The side mirrors are weird, waiting for a little bump to crack in the supermarket parking lot. The rear hatch is very useful, much better than the model 3. I wish they offer more fun exterior colors, EV's need to have red, orange, yellow and such.
Seems like the base Model 3 with its smaller capacity battery is way more efficient compared to this here (since it has almost the same range). Maybe Polstar 2 is much heavier?
The Model 3 is a ground-up EV. This is still a platform that shares with a hybrid/ICE vehicle (Volvo XC40). It's heavier and not as aerodynamic as a Model 3. But the Model 3's quality isn't as good, it has twitchy handling at speed, and I don't care for its interior. At this point, Tesla wins in efficiency over most EVs. When Polestar makes their ground-up more aerodynamic EVs, their efficiency will improve.
If you can put up with the rattles and road noise the Model Y is fantastic, especially considering the charge network. But the polestar feels like the better made car. Once they add CarPlay and android auto that’ll help its case too 👍
The car can be as amazing as possible, but if the charging stations aren't reliable, ppl wont switch to EV vehicles. How was your charging experience with this vehicle? There's stories of other manufacturers such as Ford having poor charging stations.
Used to be that Tesla had no competition but now I'm not so sure. The only thing the model 3 and y have going for them now (imo) are their range and the supercharger network. And maybe a couple gadgety tech things like autopilot and sentry mode/dashcam. But other than that? In terms of looks and quality, both interior and exterior I think the "old" brands have tesla beat. This car, the MEB cars from volkswagen and audi, the ford mustan mach e, even the Koreans. I'll be picking out a new car next month and honestly i don't know what to go for. Tesla has the shortest delivery times too (2-3 months), last I checked at least. So in combination with its range and the supercharger network I might just go for a model Y long range. The bmw i4 looks mighty interesting too but that's already sold out entirely for 2022 apparently and i'm not interested in waiting over a for a car. The MEB cars also have waiting lists of close to a year... idk about the koreans or ford though.
The Ioniq 5 from Hyundai is getting rave reviews and the EV6 from Kia looks amazing. But yes, once the traditional manufacturers get more EVs on the road I think Tesla is going to be feeling massive heat. Their cars are already starting to look outdated.

@JPavilion You, my friend, are an example of the "irritating" Tesla fan base. This car's interior is leagues ahead of Tesla in terms of UI, general convenience, and materials. Tesla QC remains a huge issue but is slowly improving. Engineering issues occur at Tesla because of the very limited testing they do before releasing vehicles.
