The whole point of this version is its range, not performance. So for someone who needs 540km (335miles) but do not want Tesla Model 3 (I really, really tried I just can't like that car) now there is some more choice. We have also Ford Mach-E single e-motor with extended range battery with 610km (381miles) of range , though it cost a bit more. And some other models in this price range. Things are getting more serious in EV world. It is still not quite there. We can see companies are a bit lost in their approach. Not to mention the whole situation with recharging stations. Mat, they probably opted for FWD instead of rear because Scandinavia is going to be a good chunk of the market for this car. And, as a person living in the mountains, I can assure you, it's AWD or FWD, rear week drive in winter is way more dangerous.
Get snow tires on a RWD car and you will do better than a FWD car on normal tires. I don't agree that it isn't sporty. What it is is mature. But if you want to drive it like a sports car, it's extremely responsive. At least the two-motor without the PP is. I think this is a bargain, very solid, comfortable and the more you drive it, the more you realize just how good it is.
We need more liftbacks - sedans with the practicality of hatchbacks, that would lower the SUV craze, since people want to have a large vehicle with a large practical trunk, but they are forced to buy either wagons which look like boring dad/handyman cars, smaller hatchbacks or large SUV's, but liftbacks like this have best of both worlds, looks and handling of a sedan, but also practical when you need to carry something larger from time to time.

Love the review! Good to see pros and cons.
Finally a car that looks more like a car than an alien to me
Are you mad or are you mad
02:10 No, it does not have an automatic gear box.
IT WAS ABOUT TIME MAT! Finally a Carwow review on my Polestar 2 :-)
@@bigstu4700 it looks like mostly screen with a few touch buttons near the gear selector.
Erm, it was already reviewed about a year ago... ruclips.net/video/rEsqhY9TCt8/видео.html
@@everpuremusic Erm, clearly reading isn't your thing... Review on the single motor/standard range...
@@LERobbo It is literally the same car, except 1 or 2 motors...
@@everpuremusic Different battery capacity and therefore range, different motor, etc... At least do your homework.
Great color! What option is that?
Is the efficiency still really bad? How about all the bugs, are any fixed?
Did the dual have headlight washers ? Did not see them on the single.
Guy Martin driving new hyundai EV the other night was interesting... meant to be 300 mile range he got 200, half the chargers didn't work and it cost loads more than a diesel would... they're still at least 2 years off being practical.
Was that the new ioniq?
@@jacobturner8965 that's it yeah, brand new model yet range is pathetic in real world.
Witch one is better? KIA EV6 GT Line or Polestar 2 one motor?
What happened to the car thet you bought for your mum? Will you share video about it?
Saw one yesterday and it shifted my thinking....
I would have preferred the single motor version being RWD
It’s a Swedish car and rwd is terrible in snowy conditions, especially with the torque of an electrical motor. I agree that it would be more fun but it doesn’t make sense
Uhh you won't be drifting down a mountain
Fair point
Do the Infiniti Q60s (red sport) vs the 3.0 liter Supra vs the Mustang GT
One of my dads friends has one, we went out in it last week and I was blown away by it.
Best Car Channel on RUclips 👍
I would love to see about the Mercedes future hybrid/electric power train.
Can u do a BMW i8 review or the r8? my fav two cars :D
100mph top speed? Yeah this car ain't gonna be sold in Germany
They want to get rid of the autobahn anyway though..
@@mar0239 they do? When did they say that?
@@mar0239 no they don’t….. some fractions were talking about limiting it to 130 km/h… ain’t happening tho
@@wassimsayeg2348 ehh it will sadly, matter of time tbh.. nowadays only the lefties caring about climate get their will
From Argentina with love....
What happened to the good looking Polestar? The first one looked pretty sharp, this second one looks kind of derpy.
The first one was the Volvo Concept Coupe made into a production car.
Seems that the dual motor version does have fog lights in front which the single motor version does not. Also the dual motor version seems to have additional parking sensor in front and back sides which are missing in the single motor version.
you got optional packs, they are identical besides the motors.
He looks great. Great electric car! Thanks for the review! ☺️
i'm prefer the polstar because the volwagen id3 is a VAN and the mustang is not a mustang! the polestar has a realy dashboard and not a vanity mirror behind the steering wheel
Love mat Watson's way of reviewing cars
This says entry model but it has the pano roof which is part of the plus package? What spec model is it that is being driven?
if you want adaptive cruise control and a heatpump. you need to add two option packages, adding €8000 -That is silly!
Agreed!
I don't agree that it isn't sporty. What it is is mature. But if you want to drive it like a sports car, it's extremely responsive. At least the two-motor without the PP is. I think this is a bargain, very solid, comfortable and the more you drive it, the more you realize just how good it is.
I want to buy this legendary car now 😍
Is this car sold in Norway and Canada🤔
Did this car have a spare tires
it is stunning
We need more liftbacks - sedans with the practicality of hatchbacks, that would lower the SUV craze, since people want to have a large vehicle with a large practical trunk, but they are forced to buy either wagons which look like boring dad/handyman cars, smaller hatchbacks or large SUV's, but liftbacks like this have best of both worlds, looks and handling of a sedan, but also practical when you need to carry something larger from time to time.
That's probably why the Mercedes-Benz EQS and Audi A6 E-tron Concept have/will have a lift-back tailgate.
Excellent, Polestar have decided to release a car that just has less range and power, rather than punish buyers by making lower range vehicles shit.
Did the frunkt not close all the way?
Love a bit of carwow to start off the day
It Looks Like a Volvo!

Is that sticker peelable?
Good review as always but not the car for me, better options out there for the money I feel.
Hi matt are you fine. Thank you so much for this videos
This is my dream car tho 💕
If this thing comes on sale in my country, they gonna sell it much more than what the two motor version costs.
Another one of Mat's awesome car reviews!
I seriously love you guys
Looks like a good car
Where is or are the motor(s) located???
With 5 adults and luggage is almost 2.5 tons!?? That's crazy
Maybe the distance control buttons are fitted in all versions because automatic cruise control will be offered with an over the air update?
It's already an extra that you can buy with this model, as part of the Pilot pack.
@@everpuremusic I know but that doesn't necessarily explain why it still comes with the buttons if it's not fitted with the pilot pack. So my thought is that owners can still get after the purchase with an over the air update.
@@thorsev6960 Why would you get that with an OTR update, when it's an extra option you have to pay for? The buttons are there, because it's cheaper to just install the exact same steering wheel in all models.
@@everpuremusic An OTA update doesn't have to be free of charge. The initial buyer might decide he wants it afterwards. It's quite common with Tesla and FSD option. Second hand byer might also want to add it...
