Thanks for a great video. The EV market currently is massively exciting with a range of vehicles and trims within those line-ups to suit most people currently looking . I’m in the UK (North East) and have just taken delivery of the Genesis GV60 and for someone looking for an SUV with a luxurious feel , a mountain of tech, great charging speed and range the RWD Premium GV60 with appropriate options packs could be the ticket. I opted for the Innovation Pack (for full driver assists and collision avoidance including HUD, adaptive LED headlights, blind spot monitoring and full surround cameras and 3D representation ) The Comfort Seat Pack (for full front electric seats and electric steering wheel adjustment convenience including ventilate and heated seats) 2nd Row Comfort Pack (for laminated rear glass, rear heated seats and manual rear side blinds) Nappa Leather Seat Pack ( for suede and leather interior including suede roof lining) B&O sound system Sunroof Outdoor Pack ( for Vehicle to load) Yes you don’t get something for nothing but with only a £2K premium over a AWD Kia GTLine S and the loss of AWD and compromise of 19” over 20” wheels it’s a compelling choice. Comparisons with the huge price tag of the Tesla Model Y also have to be made. You pays your money and makes your choice. And the point is great choices are coming to market all the time.
Packs are a better way to configure than the choice you get with the EV6, where there are only 3 trim levels in either RWD or AWD. With the EV6 any spec that isn't the GT-Line S leaves you with FOMO.

Took delivery of a Magnesium/Charcoal dual motor last March, best sporty/comfy balance and range with 19 inch rims and amazing without any packs: some aspects honestly for the better without packs, would exactly order the same trim over and over again
@@Michael-jf9dw hey Michael, the heat pump is part of the plus pack, so it you don't want the glass roof you already have a problem as it is also part of it. The heat pump is a gimmick as it gives you maximum 20km extra range and only under very specific conditions, hence not worth the investment (for me). The Harman Kardon sound system is a joke, as there is close to no sound in the back. The standard trim high performance audio (once tweaked with my settings, which I can share) sounds arguebly better and your passengers in the back will also hear something. Then the pilot pack: the semi-autonomous driving is still with its flaws, so I prefer using just normal cruise control, which the base trim has. The standard chairs are softer than the plus pack ones IMHO. I like the 3D etched deco elements in the dash also more than the wood ones you get with the plus pack. The interior lighting of the plus pack is better, but have the disadvantage around the center console that you will see each and every dust particle because of it. The wireless charging pad is useless as it cannot cope with the produced heat properly. I think the list goes on for me, but in the end it comes down to personal preference. BTW the rear light animation that was exclusive to pilot pack owners, became standard since software 2.4 for everyone... I also don't like to do an extra handling to get the rear camera view while parking instead of the 360 radar drawing. So save yourself some money IMHO.
Ok, thanks. I was merely after the heat pump since I really enjoy a de-iced car on the morning of 3-4 colder months here. My other ev doesn't have it either because I couldn't justify 800 eur premium. De-icing is no problem. I kust thought the hp would make it better. 4800 makes it even more questionable. About the audio settings i would be grateful though...
I drove this vehicle for 3 days and would not switch my Tesla for it. I liked the acceleration and outside style def was not bad. But that was about it. The inside was so limiting in space, it felt like I was in a smaller vehicle. I found the OS to be quiet basic as well. It is a good vehicle and for anyone looking to get into an EV this is great. But given the option, I prefer Tesla.
Polestar could be the first to make the driver and front passenger seats swappable! It would allow the driver's seat and passenger's seat to last much longer.
It's a very smart car. A computer on wheels. It slammed the breaks on me when I got 1/2ft close to a curb with the rear wheel when backing in. It slammed the breaks hard preventing me from touching the curb. Very smart computer on wheels. . 🥰. Love it.
Sion from Sono Motors tick's my boxes, (when it's released). It have most of things other car's have but it also have Solar cells, 11kW V2V, V2L, V2H, 230V power outlets and most important an affordable price!
Just test drove one in Toronto, Canada. Drive itself was nice with a dual motor version with pilot and plus packages added on. The optional ventilated seat didn't feel very cool even at its highest setting. It's a bit too tight inside for my size at 6'2". With the driver seat adjusted to my preferred position, there was virtually no foot room under the front seat. The lack of heat pump on a base trim in Canada is a big negative in my books. New Model 3 in Canada has heat pump included, albeit at a higher price that takes it out of the $5K Federal incentive range. I wish KIA Canada would take orders for EV6 already!
I like to hear a reviewer criticise small rear windows which I consider to be dangerous & stopped me buying an iPace. I was delighted to hear that lane assist could be switched off by default.
Nice, interesting reasons. Two sticking points stand out. 1. I don't like the large gaps in the front grille and do not understand their function. All I can think of is that there will be a lot of debris and insects stuck inside. 2. You acknowledge that the rear view visibility is poor due to the small back window. The best solution is to install a digital rear view mirror dashcam, so you don't have to look through the small back window.
It's a good car, feels like a premium type of car in terms of drive and functionality almost like a german car but it needs better cabin refinement and maybe sharper looks on the exterior. Otherwise there is plenty of power and range for an everyday car.
Depends on how you like it, I prefer the Polestar 2 interior to most new Audi RS interiors. But you got to take the optional leather seats for the Polestar 2
One detail that needs changing - the ‘Adaptive’ LED headlight, that Polestar fall PIXEL LED, are not available at all on models built from March 2022. On some older models, it was only on offer as part of the ‘Pilot Pack’ in the UK. Fab video otherwise - love the practicality quirks!
That is a shame they have ditched the matrix LED headlamps..backward step..still do not understand the delay adding wireless android auto..must be a license problem.

I love you, we should get Married immediately haha. Best review ever in that cute voice and accent ( coming from an American from Philadelphia where we say Wooder for water)
One of the things I didn't like is that in the front you feel too cocconed by the huge center console but at the same time there is almost no storage space in the front
Having a 2017 MX 100D and a XC40 hybrid as a company car, I would take a Polestar/Volvo against any Tesla. Give them some years and Tesla’s are just crap
It’s still the front wheel that turns when steering, right? So if not AWD of course you choose FWD. Pretty clear who has manufactured cars for decades. And regardless, to date the P2 is the only good looking EV out there.
@@thomashorberg7944 The front wheel will still turn. That has NOTHING to do with traction. FWD performs better in the snow when the added weight of the engine and transmission is on top of the front axle, adding to the traction in the front. A Porsche 911 is fantastic in the snow in RWD because its engine is in the back. The same was true for VW Beetles. If your weight is evenly distributed then there’s no effect either way.
One thing that I found annoying was the process of ordering/ what packages you get. I come from owning sportier BMWs, so I thought id get the awd with the performance pack, and then just pick what extras I want to my liking. Turns out compared to BMW, Polestar has very basic customizability when it comes to extras, you have 3 packages, no way of getting specific things from one package. A bit sad, but also a great way to make you spend 6k more than you wanted
Take note. Every EV has always been and is still rated against Tesla EVs. There are good reasons for that. Buy the car that suits your needs because the rest is just fashion; a very temporary thing. If the car you are considering promises to one day do something but "doesn't quite yet", it won't do that in the time you own the car. For example, Teslas are in permanent beta testing. They issue software updates every month. This means that you are buying an incomplete product which treats you like a researcher for their profits. So buy a car for what it is when you are buying it! Another thing is range. I had a Renault Zoe 52kWh about four years ago and I could get 180-200 miles per full charge. EVs are still boasting about 200-250 mile ranges years later. In other words, buying a used EV could be a better idea fpr your needs.
The monstrous gray U shaped trim piece sitting on top of the center console is a major problem for me. I plan to modify it shortly after I get my ‘23 LRDM. May also wrap the gloss-black finish around the shifter.
If you care about your economy, you might give a bit of consideration to buying a car manufactured in China. This is easily the fastest way to kill European jobs and funnel more money up to the rich at the expense of laborers. Now... I have no problem with Chinese workers just trying to put food on the table, or global economies in general... but corporations are taking advantage of Chinese workers' low pay and inability to fight for better working conditions. Most of these workers are essentially forced to work a 996 schedule, which is a huge deal. For those that don't know what 996 is (you've probably heard the term in passing).... it's 12 hour work days (9am to 9pm / 9pm to 9am), 6 days per week. It allows the company to get away with running a 24 hour factory with two 12 hour shifts instead of three 8 hour shifts like they would do in Europe or the US, cutting their employee count by 30%. 996 is a 72 hour work week, every single week. That's 80% more hours per year than what Western workers put in. Add that in Germany, auto workers may get up to 35 days of vacation per year. In the US, it may be 20+ days. In China, the workers get 5 days of vacation. FIVE! Meanwhile, a Chinese worker who's putting in 80% more hours than Western workers is only paid about 15% the annual wages. On an hourly basis, that's closer to 10%. So they're essentially worked like slaves, for slave wages. Yes, Chinese workers can change jobs, but when the only jobs are factory jobs, and most of the factories are running the 996 schedule, then is there really any choice? You're a slave to the nation's industrial labor practices. Also, with government monitoring of citizens, do you really want to be the worker that hops between factory jobs, or rocks the boat in terms of workers rights and pay? There have been cases of small labor strikes in China... to put those strikes down, the workers were beaten... harkening back to the early 20th century corporate antics in the US.... Is this what we want? A race back to the bottom? Does this sound like good work life balance? Corporations, often WESTERN corporations, are using this cheap labor to build cars, export them to higher cost of living European nations for much higher prices than they could get in China, all to drive up their profit margins and transfer wealth upwards from the customers to the ultra-wealthy. Higher profit margins means less money circulating back into the general economy through well paid local labor. So Europeans are not only sending a huge chunk of money to China adding to their trade deficit, but most of that money is going to the wealthy executives and shareholders of the company; not to the labor. Cool, you think you're getting a great value on a car... but what you're actually doing is removing wealth from your middle class, and it's eventually going to get back to you. Do you think you can just remove millions of auto workers jobs in your country and think it's not going to impact YOUR wages whether you work in the auto industry or not? Tesla is the company most responsible for this practice, making up something crazy like 50% of all Chinese vehicle exports; most of which are flooding to Europe. All Teslas being sold in Europe come from China, and Europeans are buying them up as fast as possible! Polestar is doing the same thing, only lacking in terms of scale. Their only plant is in China, and they're exporting a large percentage of their vehicles to Europe. People, wake up. You have to consider where your products are coming from and how it impacts your local economy, the world economy... and that's before getting into the environment. Briefly I'll just say... over 60% of all the energy China generates comes from coal. If they take over the auto industry, it's going to require a LOT more energy production, and most of it's going to come from expanding their coal plants.
Waiting for the Polestar 02 Roadster, well that and I don’t have £52,600 sitting in my bank account at the moment. It’s either this or a model 3 after I’ve saved up, but a downer for me with the M3 is I don’t like one pedal driving, my opinion is drivers will subconsciously become accustomed to lifting their foot to slow down which is dangerous when instinctively reacting in emergency conditions, plus getting my bike in the boot of a M3 would be a clart-on combared to the Polstar’s big hatch back. Still not enough protection on either of them to prevent minor car park damage / parking knocks etc which annoys the hell out of me when spending £50k on a functional tool to be used in a world full of selfish idiots and morons.
5:00 once again no research done. The pixel led headlights used to be an option before, not standard as stated in the video. But they're not even available as an option anymore!!
Really excited about the MG4, the only complaint about their other models is that they're dull, which is fine by me. Budget means it'll be a few years though!
2 reasons why I didn't buy one... It doesn't have frameless doors so if I parked in my garage I can't get out. The cabin feels cramped owing to the intrusive centre console
The centre console is too big and intrusive in the front. And in the back, the ICE platform legacy transmission tunnel makes the back seats way less useable than in other EVs. These would be big turn offs for me.
It is all very well you saying this but the Polestar 2 is very unreliable; the assistance is dreadful and the quality is indifferent. I tried to insure my Performance version with Polestar's own insurance (which is supposed to provide extra benefits that cannot be procured from other insurance) and they refused to insure it on the basis that they do not have an adequate safety record. A Polestar engineer told me off the record that the quality is not up to Volvo standards and that is why they have created a new mark. They are not built by Volvo. Look at the many forums on the web of Polestar drivers here in the UK, the US and Canada and all say the same.

CHINA IS A FASCIST TOTALITARIAN REGIME ! AND VOLVO POLESTAR IS A 100 % government owned company ! SHAME ON PEOPLE WHO ADVERTISE OR WORK FOR VOLVO. IN THE NAME OF A FASCIST STATE !
Very well presented, good job!
Great informative video and I love the car! Many thanks!
Our pleasure!
I opted for the Innovation Pack (for full driver assists and collision avoidance including HUD, adaptive LED headlights, blind spot monitoring and full surround cameras and 3D representation )
The Comfort Seat Pack (for full front electric seats and electric steering wheel adjustment convenience including ventilate and heated seats)
2nd Row Comfort Pack (for laminated rear glass, rear heated seats and manual rear side blinds)
Nappa Leather Seat Pack ( for suede and leather interior including suede roof lining)
B&O sound system
Sunroof
Outdoor Pack ( for Vehicle to load)
Yes you don’t get something for nothing but with only a £2K premium over a AWD Kia GTLine S and the loss of AWD and compromise of 19” over 20” wheels it’s a compelling choice. Comparisons with the huge price tag of the Tesla Model Y also have to be made.
You pays your money and makes your choice.
And the point is great choices are coming to market all the time.
oh wow the GV60 that is cool!
Packs are a better way to configure than the choice you get with the EV6, where there are only 3 trim levels in either RWD or AWD. With the EV6 any spec that isn't the GT-Line S leaves you with FOMO.
Would you mind telling us the ballpark price of the Gv60
We have an Iconic5 Ultimate which I’ll sell of we can get a firmish delivery date on a Gv60
@@robertburgess2832 you could probably make a couple of thousand on the Ionic 5 and buy the gv60 same amount

16 month happy owner of the P2.
Took delivery of a Magnesium/Charcoal dual motor last March, best sporty/comfy balance and range with 19 inch rims and amazing without any packs: some aspects honestly for the better without packs, would exactly order the same trim over and over again
Hi , whats better without whch packs pls? I'd prefer the heat pump without glass roof. Any other?
@@Michael-jf9dw welcome, I can sent you a picture of the equalizer settings
just ordered it! 🤩
A group of us loved it but we all banged our heads getting in..
Take off the helmets
another one to add to my list of must test drive, together with the i4, i-pace and model 3...a very useful review
Great car! I love my Polestar 2
Just a small note, a lot of the features mentioned are part of the Plus package and not standard. For example, the panoramic sunroof and boot divider.
Polestar could be the first to make the driver and front passenger seats swappable! It would allow the driver's seat and passenger's seat to last much longer.
The crumbs in the cup holder made me laugh😁👋🏼
The cu m in the cup holder of her box.
It's a very smart car. A computer on wheels. It slammed the breaks on me when I got 1/2ft close to a curb with the rear wheel when backing in. It slammed the breaks hard preventing me from touching the curb. Very smart computer on wheels. . 🥰. Love it.
Polestar and Volvo 👌👌
4:49 when she said bonnet I fell in love with her sheesh lols 😂what we talking about again oh that’s right the car…
Sion from Sono Motors tick's my boxes, (when it's released). It have most of things other car's have but it also have Solar cells, 11kW V2V, V2L, V2H, 230V power outlets and most important an affordable price!
9:20 deal breaker
The overly small rear window is another clue that this is a volvo descendant.
I'm getting this over that Tesla just for the Instrument screen behind the steering 😎
Wish Volvo brings the Pedestrian Airbag even to the Polestars😇
Getting one soon!
anyone know if this is the Jupiter exterior color?
Yes it’s Jupiter
I like to hear a reviewer criticise small rear windows which I consider to be dangerous & stopped me buying an iPace.
I was delighted to hear that lane assist could be switched off by default.
What is the ground clearance???
Does Polestar add new features and updates OTA like Tesla?
Yes
I love my Polestar 2 best car so far

Yeah… I’m an Ioniq5 guy… the extra boot space, the plush ride, and that fast charging! 🔥
This is a nice looking car, but I think I like the looks of the Volvo C40 better. But, as you said, looks are subjective.
What color is this?
It's a good car but they could have done better making it a single rear wheel drive like the ionic 5 or BYD seal.
This is a Volvo like car. Ever drove a rear drive in the snow ? Thats why they did it.
@@bbrock1981 u do realize theres no engine in the front of an EV right?
@@bbrock1981 Since the weight distribution isn’t mostly in the front, the way it is with ICE cars, there’s no traction advantage with FWD.
Tish surely ticks some boxes!
Anybody know if insurance is expensive?
Polestar 2 is Dutch 🇳🇱 🏎🏁 🏆 :)
I ordered Skoda Enyaq 80X so must be it then.
What colour is this one? I am looking to buy one soon.
It looks like "Jupiter" which is a light gold color (that's the name of it in the US anyway).
If you think it's slow buy the +400 hp version. I honestly get a bit nausea from the acceleration. It's very quick.
Great review but why not mention the price?
Can you please put the price in the description when you review cars?
One thing that I found annoying was the process of ordering/ what packages you get. I come from owning sportier BMWs, so I thought id get the awd with the performance pack, and then just pick what extras I want to my liking. Turns out compared to BMW, Polestar has very basic customizability when it comes to extras, you have 3 packages, no way of getting specific things from one package. A bit sad, but also a great way to make you spend 6k more than you wanted
i'm still waiting for them to filter through to the secound hand market as i can't aford a new ev
Another important plus for campers - it can tow 1500kg!
Are they 20” wheels?
As an option
The monstrous gray U shaped trim piece sitting on top of the center console is a major problem for me. I plan to modify it shortly after I get my ‘23 LRDM. May also wrap the gloss-black finish around the shifter.
How much is a ton of EVs?
If this is in the same price range as the Hyundai Ioniq 5, I think I'd go for the Hyundai. Nice car though
thought the same, so I Googled them...
Hyundai Ioniq 5 = from £41,011
Polestar 2 = from £42,150
How expensive are they to run though? I have never had an electric car so I'm on the edge on getting one because I think there expensive lol
Invest in these bad boys while you still can.
6:12 Does this car have an integrated coffeemaker? 😀
Uh no, but being a smart car it will make you smarter
The Tesla may trump the Polestar in 1 or 2 aspects but I couldn’t drive an ugly car so the Polestar would be my choice 👍
😆 🤣
I want the Polestar 2 to be sold in Romania.
Can it be purchased in the U.S.? A lot of the Chinese ev's look fantastic but they will probably never make it here, so disappointing.
If you love this car, wait for the RWD version. It's more hp and more efficient.
Beautiful video, beautiful information and what a beautiful woman indeed!!!
5:00 once again no research done. The pixel led headlights used to be an option before, not standard as stated in the video. But they're not even available as an option anymore!!
Lovely tush , err I mean tish .
If I were to buy an EV, it'd be the Nio ET5, really nice car and a good price
That shiet is out of this world ... the designers really did some outstanding work
Really excited about the MG4, the only complaint about their other models is that they're dull, which is fine by me. Budget means it'll be a few years though!
What about mustang Mach e how would you rank that ??
I hope Bedonwell Rd isn’t really her home address 🤦🏻♂️
That's what she said... 😂😂😂
2 reasons why I didn't buy one... It doesn't have frameless doors so if I parked in my garage I can't get out. The cabin feels cramped owing to the intrusive centre console
If only the Chinese government wasn’t building this car, I would consider it.
Not having Apple connectivity is a downside for me. A big one.
Mine has it
I have only 1 reason to get a Polestar..it has to have a TISH option!🤭
looks like the Jag Ipace
Splits your boot in two 😮
Is the wheel on the left or the right ? 🤣😜
#1: Design. Too general. I think she means exterior esthetics.
NO, this car will destroy you post purchase with upkeep. How much is the battery replacement? 2x the cost of the car?
