The way Batmobile was designed in this movie really nailed the point that this Batman is still early in his career. It’s not a tank or some advanced tech, it’s just a reinforced car with a jet engine strapped to the trunk and I love it.

Exactly i always said that the greatest threat to Batmans identiy is all his fancy high tech gear, something only a rich guy could afford, the best version they can ever do would be making all of Batmans equipment look and actually be made from Home depot stuff, that way it makes it harder to figure out which person in Gotham is Batman, but if you use Batplanes, super high tech cars, fancy designed flashbang bombs ect, then you literally point to the richest most connected guy in the city.

I love how Matt Reeves decided to give the Penguin a Maserati Quatroporte (which is considered to be one of the best if not the best sounding four door sedans of all time, equipped with a Ferrari V8 engine) and making the Batmobile sound WAY more agressive in the sound design.

    • @dbsti3006

Yeah, great sound contrasts here. What I will say though, is that there's a distinct difference between the sound of a Ferarri V8 and an American V8. American engines just have a deep bellow and bass sound even in high Rev. Fararri engines sound a lot lighter by nature of design.

That's the only thing that lets this scene down for me 😂 I really am forced to believe that there would be no repercussions for Batman after this. He could have just let Penguin go and tracked him down another day, but he insists on chasing him through oncoming traffic (probably just to test his badass jet car), causes a giant gasoline explosion (that definitely killed the driver at the very least, and would have killed him if fate didn't put that ramp in front of him), and ultimately caused a sports car to flip multiple times, in a glorious crash that would have killed or paralysed somebody in reality. Penguin wouldn't be able to answer any questions, let alone chew his food. I'm curious about the Maserati Quattro's safety rating now because that cabin is god-tier safe. I love this scene but the more I watch it I'm like yep, Bruce is going to jail. No way he walks away from this scot-free 😂 domestic terrorism level carnage for one guy.
