Two years of stalking the streets as the Batman (Robert Pattinson), striking fear into the hearts of the criminals, has led Bruce Wayne deep into the shadows of Gotham City. With only a few trusted allies - Alfred Pennyworth (Andy Serkis), Lt. James Gordon (Jeffrey Wright) - amongst the city’s corrupt network of officials and high-profile figures, the lone vigilante has established himself as the sole embodiment of vengeance amongst his fellow citizens. When a killer targets Gotham’s elite with a series of sadistic machinations, a trail of cryptic clues sends the World’s Greatest Detective on an investigation into the underworld, where he encounters such characters as Catwoman (Zoë Kravitz), The Penguin (Colin Farrell), Carmine Falcone (John Turturro), and The Riddler (Paul Dano). As the evidence begins to lead closer to home and the scale of the perpetrator’s plans becomes clear, Batman must forge new relationships, unmask the culprit, and brings justice to the abuse of power and corruption that has long plagued Gotham City.

The laugh. He NAILED the laugh.
Scares me tbh
At first I wasn’t such a big fan (thought he sounded like a schoolgirl) but then I realised that kinda laugh really fits this version of the character because it’s jarring hearing that kinda laugh coming out of this kinda character who looks and carries himself as he does. It’s creepy.
Eh
Joker shows he's a genious with three deductions: the riddler is a nobody with a personal resentment to the rich/politicians, riddler is a fan of batman's work and finally, batman fears that riddler's acts are justified (because he, as Bruce Wayne, was affected by the same politicians and crime bosses).
Genius
I get some serious Red Dragon vibes. Will Graham asking Hannibal Lecter his advice after being caught. It's awesome.
Exactly what I was thinking. I hope the use the joker just like Hannibal. Only behind bars, playing his games.
Then at the end Joker escapes. Hannibal style
And the following film, number three, is where it really kicks off
This is what I was coming in here to say, though I was going to reference Michael Mann's "Manhunter", which was the first movie to use the Thomas Harris characters. Mind you, the entire plot of "The Batman" is borrowed almost completely from "Seven", so they pretty much had to delete this scene. This is especially ironic, since "The Joker" was pretty much a remake of "Taxi Driver".
Exactly. Would love if Joker ends up being just mysterious phone calls, off doing his own thing while Batman fights others.
Nah I get stupid vibes.
PLEASE bring Barry back. Hes become one of my favorite actors even before this, he would be TERRIFYING as Joker.
This honestly could’ve been its own short fan film with this scene.
yeah
a PARODY of the dark knight

AHAHAHAHAH
How? The guy isn't doing an impression of Ledger, like Leto did. He is doing his own Joker performance. @@stanislavkorolev1803
@@stanislavkorolev1803This scene alone is better than TDK altogether LMFAO.
@fshoaps "doing his own performance" is what romero and nicholson did. Ever since there's dumb fan service and making money off if it, there's the portrayal of joker as a deranged psychopath without having any clue as to what deranged psychopaths actually are.
@@JLOCC23424 how? A muttering cedric diggory meets a hyena. Change my mind.
Great scene but I understand why they took it out, would distract from the main villain a lot
It would? It's just one scene.
My personal head canon is that this Batman met Joker as he was the red hood. Only this time after he fell into the chemicals Bruce saw him emerge and lose his mind. Maybe some of the wounds he inflicted on him before the chemical bath accidentally helped mess up his face. Bruce would’ve been pretty cold about it at the time and just handed him over to Arkham… I think it’d be really interesting for Bruce to see the moment the Joker lost his mind.
what i was thinking too, this joker, you see all the damage he got from the acid, it's all over him
Crazy that's the dude from Salt burn
This scene gave me some serious Silence of the Lambs vibes: a law enforcer ask a convited criminal to analyze the modus operandi of an unknown serial killer, the convicted criminal complies but in the end gives just very few hints and ends up taunting him when he leaves 🤣
Considering it was a rip off of Silence of the Lambs and pretty much copied the scene, it's not surprising it gave you those vibes.
THE LAUGH.
I have high hopes for this joker
I wish the audio was a little more clear
Why would a scene that powerful be deleted? I haven't seen the whole movie, just bits and pieces. That scene alone would have made it worth it.
Please tell me this guy will be get a chance to shine in this interpretation of the Batman franchise..he really deserves it
Barry is absolutely awesome
so annoying he only got a small scene at the end of the first movie
Yet again the comment section never fails to disappoint. This was a brilliant performance and it's always good to see another take on the joker
err this isn't THE joker. It's not even A joker. it's some punky freak from Batman Beyond Pattinson wasted 5 minutes of his life on. Smh...
@@stanislavkorolev1803 He literally showed all the character traits of joker and he did it MUCH better then leto or phoenix as portraying the true joker, hes highly intelligent, manipulative, obsessed with batman and keeps trying to get into his head, he has a much more twisted laugh and look then heath ledger and its great, its about time we got a horror type themed joker like how hes displayed in a lot of different comics
@@stanislavkorolev1803 Agreed. I don't know what this thing was suppose to be, but it's not the joker.
The last couple were pretty bad.
I honestly like him a lot. I gotta say this performance alone is my second favorite, joker performance I think he’s doing a good job I always like when people take a different take on the joker instead of trying to re-create something already done.
This Batman movie just reminded me a lot more of the comics and the old TV show so I expect everything in the movie to be a little bit more comic bookish And this joker definitely seems like the comic book version of the Joker, which we haven’t seen on screen yet and I’m looking forward to it
Seems like he might’ve fallen into the chemical bath which is why his face is all fucked up and which is why he’s totally insane. I hope they get into his backstory a little bit and I hope he’s a main villain in the 3rd movie, because Clayface is the villain in the 2nd one…🤷🏻♂️
is going to be clayface.. i thought it was going to be scarecrow
@@groetaer no they want to do villains that haven’t been done yet. Or at least haven’t been done in quite some time and if they have been done it’s only once and it’s a totally different take basically I’m talking about the Riddler and penguin. I think Matt Reeves knows that people are tired of the same old Batman movie haha
ok im going to be honest just like i always am the way he played the joker was amazing the take on it was cold calculated with a touch of insanity as joker has always been what batman could of been if he took the wrong road in life but the make up was to much to gnarled i just dont think the joker would look like this if he could help it the hair loss was to much the face to smashed up i think the look that Joaquin Phoenix has but with this portrayal has the potential to be the best joker ever made
The lore of joker is that he fell into acid at Ace Chemicals. I think the gnarled make-up is absolutely perfect and is more based off that story and the gruesome nature behind it. The TV series Gotham has a rendition similar to this joker in Jeremiah Valeska, and bringing this idea to the big screen, done well, could be groundbreaking for the character.
Seriously tho he fell into acid you wouldn’t look gorgeous if you fell into acid would you😭
i am not sure were everyone started to think joker fell into acid it was never acid it was toxic chemicals not acid in fact the first ever joker who was the red hood were this myth came from literally says toxic not corrosive @@chey8143

I have to say, I really like the dynamic that Batman is getting the Joker's perspective on a case. Gives me Hannibal Lecter energy and I think that's a good thing for the Joker
Im glad they took it out
Only just found out The Joker is played by Saltburn star Barry Keoghan
Lmaoo that’s one of the reasons I watched saltburn when it came out was because this role 🤣
HOLY FUCK I LOVE THIS JOKER. IM NOT GOING TO COMPARE ANY OF THE OTHER LEGENDS BUT SO FAR THIS IS MY SECOND FAVORITE.

This was awesome. Unnecessary, but undeniably awesome. And I’m in my 40’s. Not sure why that’s important, but a lot of people seem to think that’s a qualifier to comment on anything comic book related….
I really like the almost new york accent. It's great.
The laugh is good and so is the acting but I wish they didn't make his voice sound like heath ledgers
Yeah, I don't think other actors can pull this kind of Joker off like he did.
I like this Joker, Barry Keoghan is the scariest Joker yet, hopefully we get to see a lot of him in the sequel. Probably teaming up with The Riddler.
def not the scariest joker💀
@@Thetopglaze he is nightmarish better than Heath Ledger's Joker
@@marchionessamoretto7326 what do you have against heath ledger lmao you brought him up in another comment section
@@Thetopglaze It's my preference, Barry Keoghan's Joker and Jack Nicholson's Joker is more badass to me.
@@marchionessamoretto7326 we barley saw anything of this joker how is he more badass
Wow love how much they leave to imagination it’s obvious Batman’s the one who put joker in Arkham sense he references an “anniversary” and you have to assume that was at the start of his caped crusades sense the movie is year 2 Batman you have to wonder if it was still an ace chemical accident at the fault of Batman…and if that’s the case I can’t imagine how Jason Todd in the universe would be
Could you imagine being the guard who has to escort this dude back to his cell 🤣🤣
Bro, this resemblance is so close to the Joker of the new 52 “Death of the Family” 😨
Plot twist the joker and Batman are brothers
"Have the bats stopped screaming?"
The post credit scene you had to solve riddles to see in the Batman movie
Shame, hes the best Joker after 89 Joker. Im sure people will disagree but I will engage the keyboard troll warriors here. bring it. I do love Ledger, Leto and Phoenix hands down good but this guy? its Joker in the real world.
Leto sucked. Even jerome valeska was a better joker
Tbh, I'd like for William Dafoe joker to have created this joker & he's watching this all play out in the shadows. Could even have Barry's joker kill him once he finds out everything that turned him into this monster was all planned, a ploy. A plot. It would give us the opportunity to finally see Willem in the role & wont take anything away from Barry's portrayal. There's also a plot I have where he could really be his father, but that might be going too deep.
oh the second is gonna great when joker recovers from his wounds
No matter what, Barry's Joker's gonna be 1000x better than that lame Leto version from Suicide Squad.
Glad this Joker is not DCU Joker because it would be another Jared Leto situation
I just hope for sequel...
You know how you caught me, Bruce?
Because we're the. Same
It would be most interesting if they kept him in Arkham. Don't make him the main villain, keep him as Batman's Lecter for at least one more movie.
It looks like a fan film.
I'm 48 yrs old, I have been a Batman fan since I was 12. And I got to say this Joker and Jerod Leto's Joker are absolutely horrible! I'm tired of Hollywood's take on this character. For years the Joker has been the same, don't put your own spin on him. If it's not broke don't fix it! They need to stop taking liberty's and ruin one of the most iconic villains in the comics universe. Really pisses me off!!!!! 🤬
I thought he was a pretty lame as the joker too. So it's not just you.
just give this joker time, we literally only have this 5 minute scene of him and 30 seconds of him and riddler at the end of the film, i personally think he has potential and he can show it with more screen time or possibly being the main villain
Why do I feel like he’s trying to hard to sound like Heath Ledger. maybe it’s just me?
Just you...
that's because he is.
Nah you right
Seems like everybody since Ledger played Joker in Dark Knight, has tried to sound like him...
He has a fucking New York accent lmao what are you on
Why is the audio on this movie so awful?
Because the audio is coming from inside a cell
It's because they're mumbling incoherently. For some reason Keoghan thinks he sounds scary when he whispers.
@@TheBerylknight Barry never whispered, you must have a lot of earwax Jeremy.

Actor good. Look lame
Sounds like a teen
No, this is to much
What I didn't like is he's trying to sound like Heath Ledger
No he isn’t 😂
I think that's just Keoghan trying to sound scary. Emphasis on "trying".
He is not trying to sound like Heath pill popping Ledger. The Actor is doing his own thing.
Lol why are you attacking Heath Ledger?
@@matthewwilliams3196 That poster seems to have something against Ledger. Don't ask me why.
Nah .. the joker seems like a teenager here or something
He does. Keoghan lacks the presence to play a good joker. He has no menace, and acts like a drunk emo kid mumbling to himself. I thought Farrell put in a entertaining performance as the Penguin. But that was about it. This Batman movie is pretty overrated generally. It was a better than the Clooney ones, I guess. But that was about it.
I like the fact that he feels like a teenager, his punk and rebellious attitude is a unique take on the Joker. I think his disrespectful attitude and younger self make the character feel more unpredictable and intelligent. He's young but he makes Batman look inferior and insecure in this scene. It's all about personal preference. They made him sound like a teenager for a reason.
@@TheBerylknightjokers a maniac. sometimes insane ppl don’t speak normally.
@@Thetopglaze I get that, and I don't have a problem with the Joker being a maniac and not speaking normally. But he needs to have some menace to him. Keoghan is just too boyish and unthreatening to play a character like this.
I have this same critique of him every time he plays a villain. He comes across as a misbehaving adolescent who needs a good spanking. He's just doesn't have the range to play an intimidating arch villain, and giving him leprosy isn't going to change that.
@@aeon-pingxpong4842 They didn't "make" him sound like a teenager. That's just how Keoghan sounds. He tries to disguise it by lowering his voice and mumbling a lot, but he lacks the skill as an actor to pull it off. So he just ends up sounding like a mumbling Keoghan. Hence why he still seems like a teenager.
He's also not that young. Ledger was younger than he was. He was just able to transform himself into a formidable presence that no one would mistake for a teenager. And you are kidding yourself if you think Keoghan isn't trying to do the same thing here. The last thing he wants people to "take" away from his character is a brooding teenager. The fact that you still do just proves he isn't getting the job done.
I don't like this joker. He doesn't scare me like heath ledger
Does a shark in an aquarium scare you the same as a shark in the ocean?
@@Stark-Ravingfair point
@@Stark-RavingThis is such a great analogy. Love 👏🏻❤
@@Stark-Raving Great Whites are scary even when they are in a aquarium. So I'm not sure what your analogy is suppose to prove. This scene is desperately trying to copy the scene from Silence of the Lambs when Clarice meets Hannibal Lecter. And Lecter was very scary in that scene, even though he was in prison. This joker however, is not. So trying to pretend it's because he's in prison and that's why the actor isn't scary just sounds like hollow excuse-making to me. It's a failure of the actor or director. It's not the setting.
Heath Ledger's Joker wasn't scary, you p**sy
To be honest, I thought this was good until I seen the actor speak in the new "Top Boy" season. I can hear his Irish accent come in and out of his voicing of joker. I think most of the credit falls on the director and the makeup/effects team

@@TheBerylknight That Joker is better than Heath Ledger's one
@@marchionessamoretto7326 Keoghan's joker is terrible. He looks like Warwick Davis from those Leprechaun movies and overacts to the point of cringe. Keoghan (who I actually do like as an actor b.t.w. - just not in roles like this) is quickly becoming one of the most overrated actors in Hollywood. Everything this guy does his fans drool over and talk about how it's the best acting ever, no matter how awful it truly is.
As to Heath Ledger, his performance as the Joker was incredible, and will go down in history as one of the greatest performances in cinema (as it should). So to compare what he did with the role to this laughable effort by Keoghan is an insult to anyone who can recognize good acting. Which I'm sorry to say, you clearly are not.
@@TheBerylknight I don't care, I am looking forward to see the new Joker, and let's be honest, Heath got an Oscar just because he died, he killed himself so that he would become a legend and guilible people fell for it. His performance is meh! average as the Joker in my opinion.
