    Great video! You kind of saved me on this one because the product I received from Whitestone had a QR code that took me to an overview page with many different products on there, none of which matched the product name I had and none had Pixel 8 Pro listed as a phone model. I did end up with a bubble in mine, probably due to an unannounced spec that landed on my screen in my not-so-clean room. Otherwise, this seems like a solid product. Update: 3 weeks later, still happy. Yay!

    Thanks for this video! I watched it a few times and did a perfect installation on my first time using for my Pixel 8. It removed a few scratches too and way cheaper than a $329 screen replacement.

    Thanks for the video clear and concise with no bs.
    For those that care this video also works for Pixel 8. The steps are pretty much the same.
    For me I definitely had to use the dust sticker again right before putting the liquid on because I feel like that is the point of no return.
    Also, the UV lamp has legs that extract out! I didn't know and did the first part just holding the UV lamp over the plastic frame.

    Follow up question, if you get that liquid on a blanket or a comforter, how do you get the stain out? Asking for a friend ofc.

    Thank you. I think you have a couple of steps wrong. After the first set of 15 second curings and before the second curings, the tape is supposed to be removed. And then for the second set of curings, I think only the top and bottom are needed, not the middle. Thanks for your video.

    • @NonLegitNation2
      @NonLegitNation2 8 месяцев назад +3

      you are correct about the first 15 second curing's then removing the tape, but for the second 60 second curing's it doesn't really matter. In the past I've usually done three or four 60 second curing's for each section of the phone. They may not have been needed but better safe then sorry and curing it for longer then instructed won't cause any harm.

    I've had the 6 Pro and 7 Pro and the Whitestone perfectly installed on each. I tried installing the same for my wife's 7 which is a flat screen and failed on both attempts. Fast forward to today and my first attempt on my flat panel 8 Pro is a fail as well. I'm gonna contact them to send me just the screen protector again. They give me shit and I'm done with them next year.
    Edit: I missed a critical step in having done this since my 6 Pro - the part in your video when you lay glass on the tab until you get the liquid to the center and then slide the tab out... It's a wonder that my prior ones worked at all. This one installed perfectly after RE-reviewing your video. Thank you and the L is all mine🤦🏾‍♂️😂

    i messed up on the liquid part. I couldn't steer the liquid away from the side quick enough and it seeped out! Did the whole clean, sticker, liquid process over again and got it right the 2nd time. Definitely extra careful on that part, yall

    Definitely the best *and* worst screen protector I've ever used 😅My first pack went fairly well (after I understood the instructions, of course), so I decided to buy this again when it broke.
    The plastic frame on my new one was slightly frayed, near the arrows that guide the screen protector to the right placement. Those ended up holding up the protector by a few mms instead of letting it drop on the screen. I realized after 30 seconds of waiting for the UV liquid to move, so I pushed the protector down lightly so it'd fall. It did end up working, but one of my corners didn't get as much glue as the rest, so the edges don't look as nice...
    I decided to use a drop of the UV liquid on the edge, it dispersed itself just under the edge and fixed it, but still, that was sketchy...

    How bad does the front camera picture/video quality become since this screen protector covers it?

    • @Tompradoo
      @Tompradoo 5 месяцев назад +1

      I read your comment after installing the protector so I can't compare but testing the camera after installation I couldn't tell the quality would be compromised in any way. I love these protectors, I have them on my P6P, P8P and on my partners iphone 15 pro. They do take a bit more work and concentration to install and shouldn't be done in a hurry (I do it under the kitchen fan to reduce dust falling on to the screen) but the result is fantastic every time!

    Followed the instructions exactly. The liquid went everywhere. But just as i was illuminating it, on the top of the phone it dispersed somehow and needed more liquid to fill the gaps. Had to use a 2nd tube (which made a mess) and covered most of the gap , but 2 islands remained. Very disappointed. Now it just looks bad and there no instruction on how to remove it. And if i try again, then the liquid will be finished and the 2nd screen will be useless. Plus the tube liquid might again not disperse equally everywhere...An expensive product that can easily be ruined.

      That's basically the whole point of a screen protector?
      If it cracks, that means the protector absorbed the impact, instead of your screen. The best screen protectors are the ones that cracks the easiest😉

    I wonder why they didn't make it so the glue bridge goes in the middle of the screen since that is where the glue needs to go in the first place. It would eliminate the need to have to carefully tilt the phone which could potentially end in disaster if you tip it too much.

    • @ScottSalzman
      @ScottSalzman 8 месяцев назад +1

      Possibly because that spot is a good balance between where the glass touches the phone at the bottom and rests on the black tab. In that spot. That location helps the glue spread best. That's just my guess.

    • @NonLegitNation2
      @NonLegitNation2 8 месяцев назад +1

      @@ScottSalzman yeah I think you're right. i just installed this screen protector (with no issues) and you are right, in the middle the glue touches the screen protector, so I guess it is better to have the glue towards the top and move it down.

      @@StickNclutch oh I know, lol. The first time I attempted to install one of these screen protectors on my Note 20 Ultra I accidentally rocked the phone and all the glue went over the sides lol. I've used these screen protectors with my Note 20 Ultra, S22 Ultra and now Pixel 8 Pro so I'm an absolute pro at putting them on now. The first time though I swear it took 20 minutes and a was sweating like I ran a marathon because I was afraid of getting glue in the ports/phone openings. Now it takes me about 2 minutes.

      Whitestone Dome has been around for years and is one of the top-tier manufacturers of screen protectors. Of course there's no issues with the touch screen. The screen protector doesn't look like anything on the phone... It's glass.
