Hie everyone. I really had fun with Emma and seeing how she approaches projects and colour. Not only do I want to start collecting vintage sewing boxes, I want to get back on track with my big EPP project. Grab your sewing and a cup of tea and enjoy.
Thank you Karen for bringing Emma on, I enjoyed it thouroughly. And thank you for all your videos, you are so encouraging. I'm one of those that is not sure of what I'm doing and spend too much time picking out fabric & patterns. Ps I accidentally hit the dislike button, please disregard that, I love your programs! Thank you, Karen for the lovely interview with Emma! She is so calming and talented at whatever she’s working on. I loved that that she talked a bit about sewing with her small students. A few years ago I signed up my oldest grandson for a kid’s quilt class. He is so proud of the quilt he made. Hopefully his younger siblings will be able to go soon!! Thanks, Karen for everything you do!!!😍
I just want to say that it was this young lady who got me interested in English paper piecing when I found her RUclips channel. I’m learning to sew and quilt for the first time in my life in my early 60s and have found the English paper piecing projects to be the most rewarding for me, and thanks to Emma, I got off to a good start.
Me too! Exactly the same story. Emma has given me so much inspiration and opened the door on a new and rewarding pastime. I also love her gentle and graceful manner.
I've admired Emma for quite sometime and love your beautiful work. Thanks for interviewing her. I have one of my grandmother's sewing box. It's of very low quality because she didn't have the money when she was young to buy anything of great quality but it is quite precious to me. You always do a great job interviewing. Thanks
I’m interested in Emma’s comments about teaching children to sew. At the school I worked at it became a sort of a tradition to make some sort of quilt/duvet cover to be raffled off every year to raise funds for school trips etc. Each year we chose a different type of craft - embroidery, appliqué, screen printing, stencilling etc.and chose a simple squares with sashing pattern. Every year had a different theme. I sewed the final production.I remember the first year was embroidery with the theme of spring. It was amazing to see all of these 12-13 yr old rugby sorts of boys all sitting around embroidering pictures of tractors, spring animals etc. They loved it. I did wonder when I started how it would go but the following year they all requested another go. The junior class even wanted to make one for themselves using simpler designs. Thoroughly recommend it.
❤ the Interview and who doesn't love Emma!! I've been following Emma since her appearance on utube! Simply lovely is how I'd describe Emma and her beautiful ART!!!!
Emma Jones is absolutely lovely 😊 Thank you so much for interviewing Emma and featuring her on your channel 🌟 Wonderful interview and so encouraging to crafters ❣️❣️👑 Thank you 🎉
Thank you for having Emma on your show! She is one of my favorite sewers on you tube. I just love her slow and soothing methods and I definitely prefer hand sewing!
Loved what Emma said about being proud of your stitches showing! Never looked at it that way. Astounding! What a great interview, Thank you for doing this!
I just love Emma's channel, she's SO peaceful and serene. Thank you for the interview - Karen the top you wore during the interview really, really suited you.
I absolutely love Emma Jones and all her English Paper Piecing techniques. I also love her fabric she chooses, she has such a gift for needle sewing. I love sewing but I do find it like her, sewing things at night sitting by my husband watching a movie and sewing my little English Paper Piecing projects. Thank you Karen for sharing Emma with us!
Thank you for featuring Emma, she’s calm, talented and very down to earth. And thank you for asking interesting questions! Merry Christmas to you & your family! 🌷tess
Karen you are an enabler, you have now introduced me to a new RUclipsr to follow and I have spent the last couple of days tracking down hexiforms. I am now collecting hexies. My husband is two steps from going over the edge with my increasing spread of scrap fabric and treads in the family room. I’m in love with Emma’s videos and website.
I taught my grade 3 students how to design and do their own cross stitch pieces last year. They were sewing under their desks while they were quietly reading and asked to bring their sewing to the floor when they had to listen. They loved it and it really calmed them down at the end of a long difficult year. Thank you for this lovely interview.
Wonderful Interview. A woman after my own heart- glad to see the soothing "natural" colors and beautiful details highlighted, there are many quilters out there who enjoy these color schemes.
Thank you so much for your interview with Emma. I found her on you tube during COVID lock down. I have a great respect for her and her easy going method of quilting! Again, Thank you 😊 so much for another great interview!!!
I thoroughly enjoyed your interview with Emma!! She is one of my favorites on RUclips. I love to EPP and have followed Emma and learned so much. I love her gentle voice and her emphasis on slow stitching which I feel is important in the world that we live in today! Thanks again…………………..
So happy to see Emma Jones! I love to watch her RUclips videos, & I love her handwork! She does beautiful work, & I find it very relaxing to watch her. She is a very charming person!
I love watching Emma. She makes such beautiful things and I love how she incorporates wildflowers into her work. I really like her attitude to sewing and appreciate the lovely patterns she has made. I saved this interview so I could watch it after my son was in bed whilst slowly hand sewing some binding🙂 Great interview as usual!
Thank you so much Karen for doing this interview with Emma. She is brilliant I got onto her RUclips and also her website. I love Epp and stitchery so her combination of both is amazing and I can’t wait to experiment for myself.🙏🏻🌹💞

OMG! Emma is so cute. She does amazing embroidery. I can't wait to check out her RUclips channel. Thank you Karen 💕 I can't believe you've been doing the quilt circle for almost a year! I can't believe I've been watching then for a year! 🎂 Happy Anniversary! 🎉🎉🎉
Thank you Karen for these wonderful interviews where you expand our quilting world! I know you are also helping all these creative people find new followers. Bless you!
I'm watching you with Emma Jones and I love her combo of embroidery and fabric little hexagon making needle cases, houses, etc- i discovered her before you, Karen and handymum korean embroidery at the same time. all of you are creative and I enter this world everyday. . i love this💕
I just started EPP, and you and Emma have inspired me to get out a treasure chest that my daughter gave me. I'm thinking of keeping my tools, hexie papers, squares of fabric, and other tools in it. I also have some really pretty paper I will use to decoupage parts of it with, after I cover the brown with a lighter color paint. I will also add a handle to it, or maybe handles on the end.☺️ I also have a heavier chest I bought when working at a fabric store, and will use in the meantime, till my other one is decorated. Great interview with Emma. Her beautiful work is a credit to her and the love of hand embroidery from her grandmother. My grandmother lived in England but I only met her when I was 9years old. I'm left handed but taught myself to crotchet watching her when she lived with us. I admired her beautiful embroidered doilies, tablecloths etc with fine crocheted edging. I have her suitcase in my sewing room and store her works in it. I love and appreciate the skills used to create handmade items and glad I inherited the love of sewing, knitting and crochet from her.
I want to say a big THANK YOU to Emma because when I saw her first video and the way she explained, the way she do EPP so calmly, no stress, I begun to do EPP and now, I aman addict to EPP. Emma has a choice of fabric colour palette who ressemble to her personality!! She is as nice person than her nice EPP!!
@@emmajonesvintagesewingbox dear Emma, it’s the third time that I listen to your interview with Karen and my question is: do you do a lot of hexagon without having a goal and when you want to do something you choose in the hexies box or if you do your hexies "au fur et à mesure" as we says in French meaning you need 6 in white, you prepare your 6 whites and after that prepare your 12 needed hexies??
I so appreciated Emma’s encouragement to be proud of our work, even the whip stitches that show on the front of our EPP projects. This is a great perspective!
My oldest daughter also has tiny fingers, a leather thimble is such a good idea. English paper piecing is so interesting! I love the way it looks! Loved this conversation.
Absolutely loved learning about Emma Jones! I recently found your channel, Karen, and subscribed. I soon after found Emma’s channel and was smitten! To see my two favorite craft channel people already know each other was very exciting and I thoroughly enjoyed your interview together!

Aww what a lovely thing to say Judith, thank you so much. And I totally agree about Karen’s channel, I love her upbeat personality and her whole approach to quilting 😊
I absolutely loved hearing Emma’s story. I too like to add some embroidery to my quilting even though it’s still in its infancy. I want to stay I love your channel also and look forward to all of your videos. I have learned so much from them about accepting the improvisation and not worrying about trying to be perfect like you see in a printed book. I realize this is not the average person’s reality.

What a lovely lady. I have a long-term EPP project too. I want to make my version of a purple Grandmother's Flower Garden quilt like the one my Grandma said was her favourite of all of the quilts that she had made. No one seems to have the quilt or a photo of it so I am forced to try to make it from memory. Did it have white paths, were the flowers double petaled, etc? It will be my own spin on it. Yeah! Love her channel! Been looking forward to this interview since you announced it. I like EPP, and also hand piecing. Strictly a hand quilter as I don't own a working machine (also work in a very small space). Agree about the ladder stitch - and it really strained my eyes. Thought that fail was just me. Also, yes; boys should learn these skills. Men who quilt and knit so often bring a fresh perspective to the crafts. Thanks to you both for the enjoyable interview. :)
I love the comment by Emma " Be proud of your stitches, they are part of you" I agree re ladder stitch, whip stitch works for me and I do try to keep it small lol. Lovely chat thank you. PS. I have some of Emma's patterns too
Lovely interview! Emma is wonderful! I enjoy all of your interviews. The latest interview is always my favorite. Don’t know how you manage it, but you never disappoint with your choice of interviewees or your interviews!!
Emma have you thought about applying to The Repair Shop programme to repair you beautiful sewing boxes? My friend did and we over the moon with their talent at repairing vintage items.
I started out with hand sewing and still love it. Machine sewing feels like work but hand sewing is more like a meditation for me. I never enjoyed using cardboard inserts much. I always felt I was wasting them if they couldn’t be reused. Last year my local quilt shop showed me inklingo, I love the simplicity of printing the shapes onto the fabric and sewing them together.
Mrs. Billings Coverlet is on my bucket list. I have been collecting fabric for the hexigon millefiore. You have inspired me to just get going on it. Thanks for the push
Thank you a very informative session, just started a epp project with hexie centre then fitted petals that are curved on the outer edge, then will applicay them to a pieced background to form a flower garden with some embroidery. Blessings to everyone

Great interview (as usual), Karen! I love slow stitching, especially EPP, and Emma's work is so beautiful!
Thanks so much for watching Jackie, and for your kind words about my work 😊
Emma have you thought about applying to The Repair Shop programme to repair you beautiful sewing boxes? My friend did and we over the moon with their talent at repairing vintage items.
Fun to listen to while I hand quilt! I also love Emma Jones! Her stuff is wonderful!
Thank you for sharing this video!
Aww thank you Brenda 🤗
What a delightful young lady, thank you for bring her to our attention……..I love her desigs
I inherited my grandmother’s sewing machine and a collection of fabric and bits and pieces that I have been putting into my quilts.
A wonderful interview. I love her work and I admire how she loves the entire process as do I.
Aww thank you so much Loraine 🤗
Emma she is so talented! Absolutely love this interview!
Thank you ever so much for watching Barbara 😊
Thank you for this lovely video. I love Emma's work and her channel and look forward to watching your videos as well
I recently started following vintage sewing box! As I have started a new journey into Hexies! 1/2 is my size at the moment. Thanks Karen.
Thank you so much for following along Gretta. I love 1/2 inch too. Happy stitching 😊🧵
Mrs. Billings Coverlet is on my bucket list. I have been collecting fabric for the hexigon millefiore. You have inspired me to just get going on it. Thanks for the push
Awesome interview Karen.
Emma is such a lovely woman! 💞 Love her work! 💞
Aww thank you!🤗
Thank you a very informative session, just started a epp project with hexie centre then fitted petals that are curved on the outer edge, then will applicay them to a pieced background to form a flower garden with some embroidery. Blessings to everyone
I love making those flowers with the curved petals, they are so fun. Enjoy your stitching 🧵
Oh what a treat! Two of my faves in one place! I've followed Karen and Emma for a little while so it is really nice to watch this inspiring interview.
Emma is one of my favorite youtubbers. I am working on doing all her designs.
