I really enjoy your talk and your liberated painting style and that you don’t paint to please anybody…you paint to please yourself. I am so afraid to fail that I am frozen in my place. I keep wanting to paint but I’m so scared to make mistakes. When I watch you, it gives me courage. Thank you so much for introducing tonalism, I think I’m liking it. Thanks a lot
I was so happy to see you soften the top of the hill at the right before you ran out of time. I kept encouraging you þo do it through most of the video. You finally hearď me. ❤😂
Regarding your question at 47:25, I think those trees are very nice. Though, at this point they remind me more and more of a water vole. I seem to recognise its eyes and teeth, not so much the tail. I can't wait to see the final painting! Amazing work, as always. Love your videos. God bless.
😄Hah! I just happened to be awake and saw this in my feed yay. 😁 Will at least start watching hoping your voice doesn't lull me to sleep for at least a little bit. 😄😃☺ Thanks Stuart.
I enjoy watching you create a believable landscape from your imagination, your light touch and the delicate textures achieved using your techniques. The glowing red of the tree on the left is amazing. One wants to walk into your paintings! Your sense of humour is also a treat.
Very impressive Stuart, very subtle colors in yhe sky and the red ochre carrys or draws the eye into the landsape. Something that John Constable was fond of doing in his paintings. Naturally I am going to have to wait to see how you progress this beautiful serene scene. PS: great video content and so glad your feeling much better of late. As usual, take care, see you again in the next lesson.👍💯🖌️🌞
Another great painting, It is very nice, and I couldn't get the thought of the nutria out of my head until you fixed its teeth and nose. Thanks for planting that seed. We have them come onto our property via stream. In Oregon they were brought in for their fur, now there is no getting rid of them, eating would be an option I hadn't thought of, big enough critters to make a meal of for certain. Thank you Stuart for another very enjoyable painting. BTW, I'm interested in one from the gallery on your website but each time I try to message it errs out. Thank you again Sir!
I watched this video when you first posted it, and re-watching it now as you impart so much information I like to re-check in case I missed anything first time around. Must say, the painting you lost looks beautiful, moody and mysterious, and I love to see light shining through trees. Can't wait to see part 2 of this painting, though it's great as it is. I used to have my heart in my mouth when you went back to a painting in case you mucked it up, but now I look forward with anticipation to your parts 1 and 2 and sometimes 3, and also to your glazing. You keep me on the edge of my seat. Thank you for sharing such wonders.
I very much enjoyed watching you create another amazing painting. I live in south Louisiana and we too have the nutria rats in the swamps. I love the look of the sky. Thank you once again for the pleasure of your inspirations.
❤ I normally watch you paint, on my TV. With my feet up sketch note in hand, bluetooth connected hearing aids to the TV. Most other sounds are blocked out. I watch, pause, rewind and replay and make notes . I gain insight into great art and technique and the confidence to paint myself. To make a comment I have to seek your video out on my phone which will enable me to say thank you once again for your insight into your art. I don't think there is a video of yours that I have fast-forwarded, but I know there's many that I've watched twice or more. I don't think RUclips is seeking how they can pay you more I think it's all about how they can pay artists less and that has been going on for a long time No, Going Back hundreds of years right love your art keep it up, and thank you for sharing
Mmm...just trying to figure out what you will do to this painting because it looks good as it is. I could watch you paint forever, thank you for sharing your wonderful talent and unique teaching skills, you brighten my day.
Hi Stuart you are best I swear. Absolutely love your channel. Being in grad school the last couple of years really cuts into my zoom classes like murder. 😢
Wonderful & inspiring. 🌒 I've been wanting to do some moon related paintings. Looking forward to part two. Oh, did you hear about the restaurant on the moon? Yeah, the food is alright, but there's just no atmosphere. 😏 cheers!
I really enjoyed this piece the greens n reds in your trees seemed more than in some others wiggles n such skyline is fantastic colors I enjoyed the reflection on this beautiful piece worked marvelous now for 2 keep it up grandpa please let us know is Tiger Lilly still with you haven’t seen or heard anything about your ,, friend or pal with the magic tail in a time
I will join the crowd, and ask for a possible time period, For part 2. This may be the Magical painting that will inspire me to pick up the brush again! thank you so much Mister Stuart.... Shirlee, from Florida
Excellent painting! I watch your videos tutorial. I would like to express my opinion for the sky. If was painted lighter, even a big part of it, it may be more interesting, as the result would contrast to the trees.
Magical, mythical, and beautiful creation again. Loved watching it and shall watch it again and again. It is like meditation for me. THANK YOU
Teacher, as always, thank you for your teachings and for the motivation that you inspire us. I send you a big hug and blessings 🙏.
Whenever I’m stressed I watch a Stuart video and 10 minutes later I feel just fine ❤🙏🏽🎨
And I adore this particular painting.
Very Emily Brontë
Love the simplicity of this beautiful painting. Thank you for sharing your techniques.
For people in the UK Amazon have started selling Lefranc & Bourgeois paint so it's finally possible to get hold of the elusive Japanese red!

I always learn something new watching at your tutorials, you are a master! thank you so much for sharing your craft.
Love this painting, simple and majestic.
The contrast between the larger trees on the right and the smaller trees on the left with their relation to the water is poetically stirring.
I enjoy watching you create a believable landscape from your imagination, your light touch and the delicate textures achieved using your techniques. The glowing red of the tree on the left is amazing. One wants to walk into your paintings! Your sense of humour is also a treat.

Waiting for the second half !
Sorry, no second half. I sold it.
I love moody paintings with deep colors. Can you have the same effect with acrylic paint.? I haven't learned how to use painting
Moody with acrylics is possible, but not with this technique.
Thanks again Stuart!!
Can anybody on this comment section advise on how long it takes for shipments from Jackson's to be delivered to the US??
When I sell paintings, most of them go to the US. I think it should be about 8-10 days max.
Lovely painting, May I ask do you worry much about painting the sides of the canvas?
Not at all. The frame will cover it.
2 coats of Gesso. But does one have to prepare the board or wood panel before applying the Gesso Stuart ? Thanks.
Personally, I don't think it's necessary.
@@StuartDavies thanks
Greetings from Australia. Love the drama of this painting. Are your inexpensive brushes pure bristle or nylon.?
Bristle. Not keen on nylon!
Also is the grey you use Haynes brand or is that colour name??
Payne's grey. Made by Lefranc & Bourgeois.
Stuart, lovely, thank you. What oil did you use for this one? Regards, Bibi
Thank you! Linseed.
Your water rat has buck teeth!😂 and I love this painting so much!
it's nice.
Beautiful, what size is this one?
80x60cm
Thanks!
Thanks, John!
