Yes enough us enough.... do what you love now Stuart. I too have a great love for trees...especially old trees and their Trunks especially...they have such history and many tales to tell...enjoy 🎨
Hi Stuart Your stream-of-consciousness chat is very charming and entertaining. Listening to you with a smile on my face. I am enjoying your process too.
I too would like a series of gnarly trees. I like that with you using Payne's Grey and noodling around on the tree trunk, you are getting an Arthur Rackham quality.
Great tree! I like the idea of a series of trees! I also do landscapes , no more portraits, buildings for me either. I like to paint landscapes inspired by my surroundings to paint what I want when I want only way to go! Bravo on this tree painting!
Beautiful! You might mention that your blue is a transparent color which allows the dry paint underneath to still show well. I really like your technique.
I love this tree! The details that you’ve created are phenomenal! And you are just as entertaining to listen to as I watch your paintings come to life. I am in awe of this painting. Btw, I love trees! Thank you!
Yesss An homage,a salutation to trees ! This is a survivor and ancestral tree ! Beauty in it’s grandeur of simplicity out of your masterful aproach! Merci!
A series of tree trunks sounds good. I think people in high rise flats, or whatever would buy paintings like that, as it brings them a bit of 'Nature', into their homes.
I love that you mentioned dental technicians ! I made teeth for 45 years and an artist for 23 years! I love your trees...makes me want to give it a go!!
Sir, I share your artistic love of trees; I’m glad I found your channel as I am also trying to learn oils, coming from acrylics. Glazing in oils is a mystery to me; I’ll keep watching you to learn more!
Stuart, I think it’s a grand idea that you do a series of three paintings and you need to have that pasted everywhere on social media so that you can get that rich people that have big houses and big walls to buy them. I think you got a great idea and I love your work. I’m praying for your recovery with your teeth.
I appreciate wonderful depictions of beautiful old trees such as this, I am fortunate enough to have such a tree within walking distance of where I live and have painted it just once but I don’t believe that I’ve done it justice……….yet, however , after having watched your technique I am hopeful of creating a far more true version of this majestic old tree, thank you for sharing your unusual talent that actually works so beautifully ❤
Hi there Stuart,🖐️ Hope your keeping well. I am very impressed with the idea of painting trees. This one looks amazing and the glazing really helps to bring it forward and the old gnarly, twisted look gives the tree a real sense of character too. I can also imagine seeing these up on a gallery wall sort of Hockney like. I do hope you are able to sell this idea as you proceed with creating a series of trees. 😊 ❤ The realism that glazing adds to the painting. Kind regards, Paul, 🇬🇧👍
I REALLY enjoyed the long videos. And wat an awewome tree!! Think i am going to pick up painting again. I wassnt in my right painting state in my mind. Now i am starting to relaxe again. My hand is steady and i have gave things a place where i can use it for creating paintings again. I wil try to use a bit of your style of painting. Also i want to try micro painting in oils.
Missed the premiere, but I’m here now! Enjoying this very much!! A tree series sounds like a great idea, Professor. Might you consider putting a few leaves in one? I’d like to see how one paints the illusion of leaves on such a large foreground tree. Or buds, perhaps? I’m glad to hear you had the opportunity to get back to the Pyrenees. They are beautiful. They remind me of the Grand Tetons (a French fur trader named them, so don’t blame us, lol). It’s a beautiful special place as well. Very wild. Elk walk past you. Pronghorn antelope abound. There aware beautiful valleys & mountains filled with wildflowers, glacial aqua colored lakes. PS. I understand it takes a bit of practice to talk like yourself with the prosthetics, so practice when you’re home, & hang in there 😉
@@StuartDavies Ha, ha You made mention of some different British pronunciations, in particular 'grass'. I was jokingly pointing out that the word is 'gr ass', not 'gr arse'. It's a north/south divide.
bonsoir Stuart, s'il vous plait, si vous faites une troisième partie, mettez là sur youtube, car je ne vais jamais sur facebook et j'aimerais voir le tableau terminé, Merci, portez vous bien et à bientôt.
As someone who has not painted with oils, I would have painted the background before the tree, mainly because you can't get the same shade in each block of branches. Are you not worried about that? Keep in mind that I'm brand new to oils, thanks.
Yes, you can get the same shade in each block of branches. There are times when it is best to paint the sky first, but this is a painting where I need the white of the board to show through the details of the bark.
The media like to use double-decker buses or the principality of Wales as units of size and area, but the chunky caterpillar would be much more accurate. I will contact the British Weights and Measures Association in due course. And elephants.
Stuart, I want to feed your cat but I am afraid he may starve if I don’t get a price for a painting of a tree! don’t make me have to call your wife! I do hope you are doing better health wise !
In these words of expression this piece has begun another’s life with this shades of glaze that I agree then disagree with location of but then you push pull n wipe n damn it’s perfect ,each time you’ve pulled back the shade glaze your reading my mind , mm as y say Contrast makes this a real piece of pleasure to take in with you minds eye 🪐🌙 n oh yes a new set of trees may be the perfect life to this catalog you’ve provided to us over these many pieces of art n Words of Wisdom in ,Time , 🌏💦

I love this, as trees are a very interesting subject for me, always have been. Definitely looking forward to the next step..(twiggery)...lol
super as always Stuart.....get on and do the series, channeling your inner David Hockney!. Seriously, they will be very saleable.
Love love it. Going to try this
Stunning.
Mind you, where's the branch that broke off - in your fire 😂 - or lurking in the undergrowth where we can't see it. 😅
Love the transformation the tree, FANTASTIC
Beautiful and majestic ❤
Just fantastic, Stuart! I’d love to see your take on Aspen trees.
Please do a birch for your series! Do you have birches where you live or grew up?
I have the mug at work of a tree you painted. I would love to get one of this one too. Series of unique coffee mugs at work and home. Sounds great.
Just ordered another one and hope to see more.

Another great video, Stuart, and, yet again, I've learned something. I would point out, however, that there is only one 'R' in grass. and no 'E'.
You've totally lost me. I have no idea what you mean.
@@StuartDavies Ha, ha You made mention of some different British pronunciations, in particular 'grass'. I was jokingly pointing out that the word is 'gr ass', not 'gr arse'. It's a north/south divide.

Was your canvas only guessoed before you started the painting?
Yes.

Can you paint a fish or turtle ?
Well, I could, and I have in the past, but I'm more into landscape now.
Loved it great don't maximise your minermisons
I save beautiful trees on my Pinterest page
