Mr. Davies; I have watched nearly all of your videos "start to finish". I cannot leave in after 10 minutes, as you say. I MUST see the process as well as the finished product. My daughter discovered your channel and turned me on to it, and I find your work mesmerizing. I am an acrylic painter, but oil is my fascination, though I have only done one oil painting. I learn something new with every video I watch. I wish you every success with your channel and look forward to the next video.
I have watched each of your videos a number of times, IMHO I get a great general idea of your technique and I don't worry about things like lighting. I think for me the intent isn't to create an exact likeness of your piece but to learn how to apply what you do to simplify my own process. Your videos work for me exactly as they are. Thanks Stuart.
Thanks once again for a great demonstration Stuart. I have to remind myself not to get too attached to each wonderful sky though as it will soon become a different one, just like real life 🙂
I watch you paint as often as I can. The paintings are strikingly beautiful. I hope to emulate your technique someday when I get my easel set back up and can try my hand at oil. The bonus of your videos is that I feel perfectly peaceful at the end. Your have a very lovely, soothing voice and manor. Thank you. Tom
Thank you for another beautiful video! Some years ago I took some metal working courses and the artist had an arrangement with a shop in New York. If his students from all over the USA ordered the copper from that shop and had it shipped to them, he got a percentage of the order. Even though I could get the copper locally, I chose to order from New York to help my teacher. It occurred to me that if you had a "Davies' Palette" of colors with a shop--perhaps that one in London--your students could buy from them and you would receive a percentage. Just a thought that might help everyone. It is hard to find your blues and reds in the USA! Thank you again for your videos!
I'd like to point out that 142,000 people have seen this video and only 151 people have taken the time to hit the thumbs up button. I hope you understand that it is a kind thing to do for our mentor to just poke that little like button, please? I figure we owe him at least that much for all of his generosity. 💚🙏
@@dshepherd107 yes I thought the 142k sounded a bit high for how new the video is. I have a very small TV screen so sometimes I can't read it very well LOL. 🙏💚
I’m glad you mentioned the fact that your students are adding to much red in their sky’s and not blending it out. I’ve noticed the same thing but didn’t want my comment to come across to negative. 👍
Thanks for dab oil dab colors blend explains well done flows of colors straight push the then pull helped my mind comprehend yours this p 2 is great tho I’m wondering dry time between 1 & 2 and I love the trees before & after the skyline came out marvelous,,,say hi ta Tiger Lily she’s missed
New subscriber here. This video has really helped me with a sticking point I'm at in one of my pieces. I wanted some sky drama and this is just what I need! Thank you.
🎨😍Such a cool painting. I'm in the first few minutes, you're working on the sky and I'm thinking "Look at that tiny brush Stuart is using . . ". 😁 Thank you for your videos. Always interesting and inspiring to watch !! 🌸❤💐🌳
I've been waiting for part 2 of this painting and WOW! you've brought it to life. It's beautiful, you never disappoint. Those last touches at the end, your thumb adjusting the white reflection in the water and the addition of the thin tree trunks added magical finishing touches. Thank you Stuart. I must mention that I pressed the subscribed button for further notifications from you but nothing happened, is there a fault on RUclips.
@@StuartDavies I have clicked the bell icon, I've also tried some of your other video posts since, and the same thing has happened. The format looks somewhat different also. I'll keep surfing through your other videos to see if things change, which will be no hardship as I love your paintings.
I liked it, until you got to the water, Stu. lol I wasn't expecting a mirror image (even though the pond water is still), but a little bit of colour from the trees, on the left, and red from the sky would have kept me happy! Ha! And...you had a lovely 'moonlit' cloud (top left), until 11:50. Despite that, I still gave it a thumbs up!
Hi Stuart: so glad to see that yhis superb scenery is virtually dry enough to continue with part two. Love this work And true to self, the final additions of this beautiful Tonal Composition that makes your tutorials so inspiring 😊.
Oh crumbs, Stuart. I'm still having difficulty with the bell icon and now I've gone and pressed the dislike button by mistake. I meant to press the like button, then repress it to see if that would sort things out. So sorry, please don't take offence, your video posts make my day, I just love your art. I think perhaps my computer is playing up, will try to sort it out. In the meantime I'll keep looking out for your new postings if I don't receive any notifications from you.

Well, this one reminds me of how beautiful a landscape can look with darker, dramatic skies. Love it, Professor!
Thanks for the part 2.
Thanks for showing all your good stuff to us.
Good show, teach.
Definitely scooped in! Ha! Enjoyed this painting. Must try a little more drama in my skies!👍

Glad you made part 2. And I laughed at: there’s always a hare in paintings; brush hairs?
AAHW that sweet cat at the verry end :)
Brilliant
Thank you very much. I love your mannerism. You make the process so relaxed and possible.

Wonderfully inspiring as always. Love the work and the banter. Keep on painting and we will keep on watching even the cat made an appearance. Nice.

Lovely…curious, how long did you wait between part one and part 2? Thank you
I think it was just a few days.
A modernist landscape would be interesting for a change - I imagine it would be right up your street ?

We need a Davies Dictionary of invented words. Note to self.
Add Dedogeration 😁
You seem to have the best rigger brush, do you know the brand? and of course thanks for sharing your awesome tutorials.
It's a Daler Rowney Graduate, size 3.

Add...
Treeness & Brushery 🤣
Add...Wooden-e-bits.
Im not liking the reddish hue in the sky so much. It looks nice, but it looks... Unusual to say the least.

calling someone a child for questioning if they want to keep painting? yikes
No, I didn't call someone a child. I mentioned when 'I' was a child! Yikes. I never ridicule anyone.
