Ambessa, with her hair constructed in the shape of a halo, looks almost like a holy figure as she places the cloak over Caitlyn. It's a very powerful visualization of the fact that Caitlyn is being brought under Ambessa's wing and she is extremely powerful---there is a danger to being under Ambessa's wing. The way the cloak is giant, almost swallowing Caitlyn's silhouette, while the cloudless sky, blank and vast and an uninviting shade of muted greyish blue, also encompasses her. Caitlyn has ascended and grasped power but at what cost? She has power but she is now controlled by forces much greater than herself. I think the visualization of all of this is brilliant. This is her "I am Paul Muad'dib Atreides" moment: You can't help but feel a perverse pride for her as the chant is so overpowering and seeing her ascend is powerful, yet you know, this is the beginning of a possible downfall.

She was a spy hired to exploit Caitlyn’s rage and heartbreak by insinuating herself as a comforting lover. In truth, she was manipulating Caitlyn and whispering poison in her ears on Ambessa’s behalf.
I honestly don't think she was a traitor from the start. it doesn't make sense. She held a nothing position in the enforcers, she had almost no chance of surviving the attack on the memorial, and her role would've been only a fraction as useful if Cait hadn't left Vi. I think Ambessa saw them together in that one scene ("I don't need to remind you of the dangers of professional entanglement") and enlisted Maddie as a spy after that
I think people are overlooking the significance of the enforcers in this scene. In the past, as military dictatorships grew, the roles of the military and the police became desegregated, essentially becoming one and the same. I definitely see the enforcers banging their chests in imitation of Ambessa’s army as an nod to this.
Absolutely favourite part of the whole show! The whole nazi feeling, the goosebumps and overall the deadness in Caitlyn the SECOND she gets on the cape.
im really surprised by people’s reception of maddie, everyone seems to think she’s this innocent cutie patootie but imo this scene shows what her character really is: a criticism of the idea of a “good cop”, someone who genuinely believes that the system is right and correct and the only flaws are due to individual bad eggs like marcus. it’s not that she’s oblivious to the fact that the enforcers hurt people in zaun, i mean she literally participated in cait’s operation unleashing the grey, it’s that maddie is 100% convinced hurting Bad People is Good, Actually, and of course all those radicals in zaun are Bad People. of course she’ll be the most trigger happy and ready to go full fash
@basedandchristpilled Uh, since society agreed undesirables shouldn't be allowed to exist XD what kind of question is this? Execution exists for a reason
the song ( music ) for this scene is called "Appointment of a General ·" my god its is so powerful and strong . you virtually feel the drama and tension with this song. No show uses music better then Arcane ....Bravo guys
God, the tension in this scene gave me chills. That Noxian witch is playing the Sith Lord here. Whispering into Caitlyn’s ear like that, convincing everyone this is the right thing to do. Man, I am looking forward to seeing her choke on her own iron fist
Ambessa has been in the game for a while, (not in-game) but like war and stuff, she’s a tactician and I’m certain she isn’t going anywhere anytime soon
Silco to Jinx at the end of Season 1 Act 1: We will show them. We will show them all. Ambessa to Cait at the end of Season 2 Act 1: Your mother will have justice. I swear it. Interesting how both Acts end with a girl falling pray to a powerful and dangerous figures manipulations. Caitlyn's journey into the darkness promises to be one of the best arcs this season.
Act 2 just came out, interested what your thoughts on Caitlyn are now? The show kind of just montaged the whole Piltover invasion thing which honestly I'm not a big fan of. This scene was kind of hyping up a big, brutal invasion of the Undercity but all we really see are a few flashes of people getting arrested and a checkpoint. It didn't really feel like Topside launched a full-scale invasion...just increased the number of patrols there. I was expecting something more like the intro scene to S1 Act 1 with the enforcers and noxians vs some resistance members killing each other with civilians caught in the cross-fire. I felt like the writers got cold-feet with the direction Caitlyn's character was going and tried to pump the brakes on her being a ruthless dictator out for revenge. Hell (spoilers for Ep6) the moment she meets Vi again they immediately make amends and team up. Caitlyn even willingly works alongside Jinx.
@@admiralpepper6933 Lmao I just see people on twitter acting like she's gonna murder half of zaun, when in reality she's probably gonna seal it and keep searching for jinx with the gas as she's been doing.
What really is amazing is the fact that she has now become (at least in her newfound role) the same one of those who killed Vi's parents...she'll snap out of it, but it won't be easy
all it took was one "cupcake" from vi and she folded 😂 i know there was more to it and that cait didnt seem to want this position at all. Look at her face when ambessa tells her that her mom will get justice. There is reluctance all over her face but the situation is quite inescapable because she had no choice.
@@inversional_loop Well, Ambessa controlled her, but she remains a good person at heart, even if the grief distorted her decisions and priorities. Seeing Vi + the doubts she already had was enough to break her from the chains of her own bitterness
Honestly, i saw this one as like this is a start of the feud between Zaun and Piltover and will carry on in the game that's why they are fighting in there.
So much of this situation feels like a double edged sword. Caitlyn being elected as general should be a great honor, but everyone looks at her with the same shock as if she were accused of a crime. Hell, that's how Caitlyn herself reacts. Ambessa's stance at 0:27 is captivating. She is drumming out of respect. But with the angle she is standing at, it looks like she's physically ushering Caitlyn by her side.
Or drumming to pressure her. I mean Cait hasn't done anything remarkable by Noxian standards. Caitlyn looks like she wasn't even sure until the rest of the Enforcers drummed with the Noxians. It's like suddenly getting nominated by a teacher as class president and everybody's on board with it and you can't do anything about it lol. I'm excited to see how Caitlyn responds under pressure.
@pvrc1030 That's what I think btw, what could she say? With everyone drumming on their chests and looking at her... she always lived with the expectations of doing what was "right" and then what could she do in this scene? Reject and become a betrayer of Piltover and ruin her family ? she knows the weight of rejecting and accepting and has no choice for either
I would have liked to see a lot more of Caitlyn's development as a dictator and going to her darker side. And perhaps being an even bigger terror to Zaun, Even for Vi, if she had found her as she is now she would be very afraid for her life, and remembering what happened (about their breakup)
vi gets both her parents killed by enforcers but continues not to revenge and even help enforcers. cait gets one parent killed by jinx and is already trying to wage war against the entirety of zaun.
Vi in the early parts of the show is very hateful towards anything Piltover and very clearly would enjoy getting revenge against them. However, as the show progressed her hateful view towards Piltover starts to chip away as she's forced to work with Caitlyn, who at that point was an enforcer. On the other hand, Caitlyn looses her mother during the bombing and then has her memorial ruined by a terrorist attack by the chembarroness not a day a part. Even then she recognises that Jinx is the real problem and instead of waging all-out-war with the Undercity she forms and a strike team. The strike team is successful in neutralising most of the Undercity's organised crime syndicates but fails in capturing/killing Jinx because Vi stops her. This is what pushes her over the edge. Vi had time to reflect, heal and forgive Piltover for what they had done to her and her family. Vi had Vander to tell her to prioritise her family over revenge and Caitlyn to show her that while the Piltover *government * was their oppressor, there were still good people Topside. Caitlyn does not have time. Her mother's death followed by 2 terrorist attacks (memorial and the grey vent re-route), her desire for justice turning into a lust for revenge and the pressure of filling her mother's shoes as a council member during a time of crisis causes her to have tunnel vision.
Watching this again, it makes appear so much that Maddie really is a noxian agent from the start... or she is just a simp really that see any opportunity to climb higher and goes for it.

I think Ambessa saw them together in that one scene ("I don't need to remind you of the dangers of professional entanglement") and enlisted Maddie as a spy after that
My bro caitlyin truly putting the "gay" in sasageyo
Shes becoming her inner Eren.
I think people are overlooking the significance of the enforcers in this scene. In the past, as military dictatorships grew, the roles of the military and the police became desegregated, essentially becoming one and the same. I definitely see the enforcers banging their chests in imitation of Ambessa’s army as an nod to this.
The track in this clip was INSANE.
Absolutely favourite part of the whole show! The whole nazi feeling, the goosebumps and overall the deadness in Caitlyn the SECOND she gets on the cape.

Cait: You know, the funny thing is… I KNOW you're playing me… *_but you're right._*
im really surprised by people’s reception of maddie, everyone seems to think she’s this innocent cutie patootie but imo this scene shows what her character really is: a criticism of the idea of a “good cop”, someone who genuinely believes that the system is right and correct and the only flaws are due to individual bad eggs like marcus. it’s not that she’s oblivious to the fact that the enforcers hurt people in zaun, i mean she literally participated in cait’s operation unleashing the grey, it’s that maddie is 100% convinced hurting Bad People is Good, Actually, and of course all those radicals in zaun are Bad People. of course she’ll be the most trigger happy and ready to go full fash
You'd be surprised. Maddie was pounding her chest because of Cait, not the Noxians or politics. She likes her that much, as you may see in act II
I mean it is good technically 🤷 that's why attacking the innocent is taboo and not the other way around.

the song ( music ) for this scene is called "Appointment of a General ·" my god its is so powerful and strong . you virtually feel the drama and tension with this song. No show uses music better then Arcane ....Bravo guys
What a fucking scene. That close-up shot of Embessa pounding her chest is chilling. Seaver and Temple truly are brilliant composers.
As someone who've played too much Helldivers and Warhammer 40K, this scene filled my ignorant heart with joy.
God, the tension in this scene gave me chills. That Noxian witch is playing the Sith Lord here. Whispering into Caitlyn’s ear like that, convincing everyone this is the right thing to do. Man, I am looking forward to seeing her choke on her own iron fist
And she's right. it's just Caitlyn's situation that is fucked up
Ambessa has been in the game for a while, (not in-game) but like war and stuff, she’s a tactician and I’m certain she isn’t going anywhere anytime soon

This is literally giving me goosebumps

I do wonder how much of a good artist Cait was, objectively speaking
Girl was rejected so hard that she became a dictator
"Come child... Besides we have this cool blue cape here, it matches your uniform.the best"
So that's why Maddie was the first to support Marshall law

Great video! Really enjoyed it.
This scene goes so hard and is one of the best parts of season two in my opinion. I audibly went “OH SHIT” outloud
Ambessa is working this city over from both sides. Grinding them together for weapons development. Incredible.
She is warfare incarnate
@@Tbear995 I haven't seen the latest episode. Noxians are brutal and militant but also not dumb. They're devious.
1:11 IT ALL MAKES SENSE NOW. THATS WHY SHE DID THE CHEST BANGING THING BEFORE ANY OTHER SOLDIER!!!
Maddie being the first one here takes on a whole new light now...
Unimportant detail but at 2x speed the way they slam fists on their chests has a similiar sound to a military parade
When you lose the girl so hard you start the military dictatorship part without depression
Can't wait for caits "dictator arc" to be much more tame than people think, then are left wondering why they were even scared in the first place lmao.
Setting a waypoint here just to see how it'll go lol
@@admiralpepper6933 Lmao I just see people on twitter acting like she's gonna murder half of zaun, when in reality she's probably gonna seal it and keep searching for jinx with the gas as she's been doing.

I wish my breakups resulted in the creation of Military dictatorships in my name. I could do so much for Rail transport.
The arming pounding sounds with the ost odd straight goosebumps. Caitlyn is about to become a menace
Would've been awkward for Ambessa if Caitlyn was like "Nah, Let's pick more suitable candidate"
She knew she wont. Now Cait is easy to manage, because of her rage
That’s why she started thumping her chest, this isn’t a nomination of a position, Caitlyn has no choice.
@@mranima748 Exactly! good riddance, finally somebody who gets it.
People already mentioned how Loris leaves but I like how Steb was just standing there, watching cautiously.
Honestly, i saw this one as like this is a start of the feud between Zaun and Piltover and will carry on in the game that's why they are fighting in there.
I wish they had expanded on this. If only we had an episode that showed Caitlin actually making decisions that stepped over the line of morality.
And perhaps being an even bigger terror to Zaun, Even for Vi, if she had found her as she is now she would be very afraid for her life, and remembering what happened (about their breakup)
the shinzou wo sasageyo chapter name lmfao
vi gets both her parents killed by enforcers but continues not to revenge and even help enforcers. cait gets one parent killed by jinx and is already trying to wage war against the entirety of zaun.
