For once when A Game’s Lore says “millions have died here”, millions of players may actually have died there.
We are the lore here. It is being written as we die for Democracy
It gets wild if you try to guesstimate Death rates. At one point I was estimating theres about 140 to 200 death per minute with some very average maths and guesses based on average values from my player groups and their experiences as well.
I really want them to release the accolades. Those numbers will be wild!
Not millions of players but every time you die your character basically dies. When you get rebooted it's called "reinforcements" so basically every player death is a helldiver dying in the lore

@@nsr-ints oh man what a throwback! I remember my very first day some guy was quitting the game because his first child had just been born. We played for a couple hours and he showed me the ropes.
He ended up giving me something like 70M isk as a farewell. It was so much money and I had no idea how to spend it so I just gave most of it away! I loved that game

Weird that everybody talked a lot about Malevelon when just two days ago the bugs just took back Angel's Venture from us.
For a bit of added context, there is a bugged mission that states it's 40 minutes long but is actually only 15 when you enter.
This is causing 40 minutes' worth of enemies to spawn in a 15-minute timespan, almost tripling the enemy count of what it should be.
There will never be another planet like Malevelon creek.
"Bug" or genius organic player-driven lore development by the devs? Reminds me of things like the blood plague in vanilla WoW.
@@Marclivisactually it’s just the evacuee the civilians mission versus automatons that’s bugged in general. There’s the incorrect timer, the ridiculous amount of enemies, the ridiculous map size despite the small mission area.
The bugs have a variation of this mission but it’s a proper 40 minute mission that utilizes the whole map.
I hope that they always keep it this way. That's hilarious.
I've done these missions on 5 and 6, but tbh I don't care for defensive ops because of these evacuate essential personnel missions. Too much headache, not enough reward. 7 hulks and 2 tanks at once is a lil annoying every single time I play one.

I served in Malevelon. 3 combat tours, just about made it back. Lost my whole squad trying to secure an airfield

This is hilarious because the bots do in fact have mines all over the place (surrounding outposts mostly) but because we're so indiscriminate with dispensing explosives, we sorta just took the blame.
I love this lore so much. Having the lore being written by the players is so genius
Splatoon does the same thing. The Splatfests determine the canon of the franchise going forward with the results of the final Splatfest being the most important. Splatoon was Callie vs Marie, and Callie won, so Marie disappeared and the story was about finding what happened to her with Callie as your mentor. Splatoon 2 ended with Choas vs Control, Chaos won so Splatoon 3 has a Mad Max/Fist of the North Star inspired story and town.

I was there, I was at the Creek for my first real deployment.
I vividly remember the first moments on planet. I dropped right in center of a patrol and was nearly gunned down right then and there. But a fellow Helldiver saved my life with a long burst from his MG. I never got the chance to thank him before he disappeared in a blinding explosion.
I await the day I can return and liberate Malevelon Creek for all of my fallen brethren.

I was deployed there straight from training. I had heard stories of the fierce fighting in the opening days of the war, but I wasn’t prepared for the slaughter. I dug in, and when the retreat order was issued, I went to Draupnir to await the time to return. When that time came, I was better prepared. I’ve spent every day since fighting for the creek. We will get there, and as of today we are 20% of the way to success. The creek is my home now, I’ll be there until the job is done.

I used napalm to clear out a tree line, an entire group of chainsaw wielding hellish robots walked out of the fire and charged me down

..that gave me terminator doomsday flashbacks.
I tackled M creek once, and honestly it was really fucking close, medium difficulty with me and the people I was with being about level 3-7, it was absolute hell and we all knew it was something else compared to other planets. From the objectives to the extraction point, it was a constant battle of requiring you to push forwards or die, and considering we were constantly out gunned pushing forwards was just never viable.

The developers did make it so we can create the lore of the game and who knows what the developers will do with this It would be cool if they were able to do what the developers of cyberpunk 2077 did and start creating comic books with all the ideas and lore they could make from all the youtube videos that have come out.

As a vet of the creek, I can say that it's not as bad as the cadets say, we're giving them hell divers! One not at a time! The automatons will know our wrath! They will know the divers bootheel as it stomps them into dust! GIVE EM HELL DIVERS! FEET FIRST!
I am a veteran of Creek, level 45 now, not once have I given up the fight, every time I see new helldivers join my squad they want to join in the fight. I was there when we took creek, I was there when it fell. And here I am still fighting. Wondering when will it end. Each new helldiver that joins me sounds so excited to fight at creek. But those who come back...come back silent afterwards. I WILL HOLD THE LINE!!!

Pro tip: if you’re still low level unlock the anti-material rifle. it can pierce armor and will kill just about anything if you hit the right places.
I even soloed a hulk by shooting it in the head a few times.

I love how even if I didn't play the first game, this can be canon. Playing only the second game, I can live the past game as a war already fought by our ancestors and see them as legends while still supporting the cause, fighting for freedom and democracy. Long live Super Earth.
I’ve only just joined the fight in the last few weeks. But those newly enlisted shall always remember the sacrifice of those war heroes of the creek. Their sacrifice shall ignite the flame in future HellDivers for years to come.
I gave in to the propaganda and got to spreading democracy, that same day I’ve contacted flashbacks from my first dive, David didn’t deserve what happened to him.

They’re heavily outnumbered because it’s a useless sector with no strategic value, and only posts like this one actually send people there while the playerbase tells them to spend their time on something productive.

Ah one problem its just no one is trained in large scale robot assualts with a small team please go see a good man vs machine tf2 player or team for advice theyve prob been doing it for a few years so they can probably study game mechanics weapons en etc and tell you want you need newbies
