Sidenote to 13:45 Roll Iframes start at 1st frame of the roll, so its perfectly fine if he spams roll, obviously the rest is spliced, but this one is fine
idk why would he use god mode in a spliced no hit run, 90% of hits would be extremely obvious. Also with god mode he could not see an obvious hit, and then people would have more proof of him getting hit
Htwo is just completely wrong on that whole section. I don’t even know where they got the idea of claiming a 2 frame startup on rolling I-frames. Like, it is common knowledge and very easy to check if you have any modding tool experience.
13:26 I checked the hitbox on the golden arc and the hitbox is sligthly behind the arc and when the arc was just behind him(not touching him), his stamina got consumed meaning on the next frame he gets s, so he did the arc. So the run is still spliced but no evidence of god mode being enabled.
as someone who has watched every GinoMachino run and a ton of content from people like aggy, i'm 4 minutes in and already in disbelief. No kukris, no gambit, no 10 minute setups to script encounters, just balls to the wall hoping for good luck. full risk in a category about taking as little risk as possible. also i watch your channel for tf2 videos so i was pleasantly surprised to see this kind of content from you too. also also, there's *no* explanation for that arc not hitting him in enir ilim. Door i-frames do last a bit longer than you'd expect - it's not the moment your character stops opening the door, it's after they've got their weapon out. and yes, roll startup frames are very much a thing, and would completely fuck him there. it's why no runner relies on door s as a strat, there's a few frames where your hitboxes are active but your s aren't, even with frame perfect inputs, there's always a few frames of vulnerability. same thing with grace s, which is what makes the earlier ensis clip so insane. he *should* have got hit in enir ilim, there is no way in normal gameplay that you could replicate that.
There are yolo runs and they can be a valid strat for no-hit speedruns (which for some reason was the point of the video, not that he world first-ed "no-hit" of ER DLC), but they are mostly reserved for already established titles where the run is so optimized your only option to cut time is 50/50 strats. Not a game/dlc that was released a week ago.
i also noticed that during the run through with the pests, he got hit by a single pest thread, which didnt damage him or torrent, even though it clearly went through their hitbox
In defense of that Holy Attack. Elden Ring has a mechanic where if a Weapon/Attack had already passed through the player during the invincibility frames it fails to register as a hit. It’s the same when making a riposte as it’s why even if the immediate hit makes contact right before the invincibility frames wear off, it does no damage despite the hitbox making contact. As it would be extremely unfair for an Invader to make a Riposte on the Host only for some Random Rescuer to charge a Heavy Attack Right when the invader is done making the riposte. This can also be shown during any duo Boss fight.
I was willing to be more charitable to this guy when I thought he was maybe a relatively small channel, but each of his videos get upwards of 100k views, even breaking into the millions on some of them, that’s not okay at all, a lot of fame, praise, and (most likely) ad revenue being directed towards someone who absolutely does not deserve it, good on you for spreading the word
this does look crazy 15:35 , but several times while entering raya lucaria, I swear I should've been hit by the burger king dudes after opening the doors
not arguing against the fact that its spliced just want to mention if you go frame by frame, at 13:53 you can see the stamina drain from the roll just before it hits him 2-3 frames before where you pause. i dont know the attacks frame data to say for certain but if its small enough he couldve got an insanely lucky roll, as you can buffer rolls from door openings.
As someone who's consumed a lot of no hit content and did some routing myself for runs in games like DSIII, these "strats" made my jaw literally drop. And these sections aren't particularly difficult so that adds to it, but what's quite possibly the funniest aspect to me is grabbing the grace right before Castle Ensis. Why would you even need this? What a silly goose. Great video, btw!
That Pest Threads moment is ABSOLUTELY something you'd say "... yeah that was completely planned..." in the same tone as saying "not even close" when you kill a boss when you have 1hp left.
for the part near the end of the video about him opening the door in regards to cheats, i think it might be invincibility and/or automatic dodgeroll upon being hit. I want to point out the potential of them using an automatic dodgeroll, i believe that this is shown in the clip at 15:35, I think it's incredibly suspicious how well the first dodgeroll is timed, someone in this reply section pointed out that the stamina bar showcases the frame a dodgeroll occurs and it just happens to be the *exact* frame a projectile would've hit them. they also input buffer, either a mistake due to not knowing an opponent's attack (definitely possible), or his attempt to dodgeroll manually after the automatic one saves them. I watched *some* of the actual no hit video, with my confirmation bias in tow, i was able me to nitpick out some instances of invulnerability, these are a bit more subjective than splicing. these timestamps are not for this video but rather the no hit run video: 13:38 (someone should check whether you can be hit by the blade of this long ranged attack) 13:41 30:51 44:52 (i already pointed out this one) 45:05 (this one's already in the video but i can't stress how ridiculous this looks, the only way this is possible is if input buffering applies to the opening doors animation)
Dodge rolls do not have i-frames until you are in the middle of your roll. It's been like that since demon's souls. If you get hit on the start up of your roll you will get hit.
an input buffer would make a lot of sense, but what caught my eye the most is during the time stamp you linked, he gets hit in the head by the same arc projectile that was SUPPOSED to hit him after the door opened, but ofc he just takes zero damage as if nothing happened, but right after the projectile passes through his body, he rolls seemingly in complete panic, and also looking at a couple of his other videos and just listening to the audio with good headphones, you can tell at least 80% of this person's runs are cheated in some way, which should just make everyone disappointed in a capacity
@@locki_dos unfortunately that is not true. Dodge animation themself don’t have any startups, I-frames kick in immediately. The startup ppl experience is an input delay (from roll/run sharing the same button), a delay of the character no yet entering the dodge animation. However that doesn’t apply in this case since the roll is queued/buffered. Even since demon souls I frames start immediately, and this remained true in other souls games too. If you don’t believe me, literally look up any datamining source or even run DS anim studio and have a look yourself.
I went to watch the No death DLC speedrun and by reading the comments I saw only good and positive comments like "GOAT" or "Amazing!", basically comments praising him. I didn't comment anything because, like you said, it would be rude to insult and also I don't have the spectrgrams as proof. Though you did very well to still post this video. The fact that he cheated (and who knows with how many other games) and still got praised because almost no one realized it is just SAD. It makes my skin crawl to read the replies of this guy accepting the compliments of his viewers. Completely undeserved. He should not be insulted but it's a good thing that people can know the truth. So thank you for uploading this video.
this feels just incredibly disrespectful towards the whole hitless and challenge run community. I’m glad it’s getting some coverage. Great video, thank you!
14:22 that’s…not true as far as I’m aware. Rolling I-frames starts immediately on the first frame, there is no 2 frames startup, not even for fat roll, you can check this with animation tools, this is true across all souls game. The startup delay ppl experience is an input delay, not an animation or I-frames delay.
In short, if you queue a roll right after opening door or other events(like knock down), you do get immediate and don’t even have any input delay(since it is queued).
@@Dakumun640 no you didn't get it lol. Input delay and having 2 frames of vulnerability in the dodge animation are completely different things in this context. Here's how: If there was 2 frames of vulnerability, then he would get clipped by the attack like the guy said in the video, since the animation would start immediately when your invincibility from door opening have ended, and those 2 frames would get caught by the attack. But when the latency in the i-frames comes from input delay, which is the case, you can just spam dodge during the door opening animation and it will store that input towards the end of it, and you will not have an input delay since your input is already recognized. So yeah the run is spliced but not "cheated".
I have to comment on the hardest run section; the fact the one on the roof didn't aggro until after he was at the door is a miracle because the door guy likes to aggro when you're near the first divine beast warrior
I suspect he might have used an aggro reduction mod in addition to splicing. Or a lot of retries for the perfect RNG. One point that Gino talked about was how Leda was suspiciously taking very long before attacking when she's super aggressive and will almost certainly bumrush you the moment she's spawned.
You know it's crazy, I beat the DLC a week in, and felt good about myself sticking it to the final boss. Then I saw this guy's run, the next day and felt pathetic 😂
I'm pretty sure I-frames are a little bit different when opening doors in elden ring, I've spammed roll when going through some and avoided a bunch of things I thought I wouldn't but I didn't check these things frame by frame so I could be wrong. The only way to know for sure is if you recreate a similar situation and see if spamming roll as you open doors just simply extends the I-frames as opposed to starting up new ones
i enjoyed this video, great work man. Team Hitless takes pride in what we do and obviously we hate cheaters because it discredits other runners and their achievements. But i would like to say that in my opinion: An argument that says “why would he do this very unsafe strat” doesnt really makes sense when it is technically a “hitless speedrun” there are many examples in hitless speedrunning where we do very unsafe strats for the goal of speed. For example: Sekiro: - Yolo Gun Fort (running through gun fort is not safe due to the amount of gunshots that are thrown at you in the section). This is a heavy reset point if not the very main one. - Section running up to geni (frontside skip, for any knowers). This section is completely safe if you do it the hitless way, but when you add speed to it and are going for record time, then it’s recommended that you “yolo” this area too. Dark souls 3: - Deacons of the deep yolo attacking. With this routing you don’t have as many skulls so you need to just yolo attack these guys, this is a pretty heavy reset point. - irithyll section (yolo) usually you would branch here in hitless and this is usually a 2-3 minute process. But with speed added and a record time in mind, you need to run through and hope you don’t get hit by the knights roaming around in it. This would only be 30 seconds compared to 2-3 mins of time. Just a few examples of why i don’t really agree with that argument. Obviously anyone is entitled to their own opinion. I thought i would just share my thoughts with my bit of experience in hitless speedrunning. Great Video Htwo, i thoroughly enjoyed it.
i mean, your first clip of the pest missile strike thingie, sorta shown a single string of the pest attack connecting to him and torrent, yet he did not even "feel" it or much less took any damage. Same with the weird hippo thing. He knows exactly what was going on.
The sad thing is, if he was just being honest and titled his videos appropriately, he could get the same amount of recognition anyway, but for the right reasons. Segmented runs contain useful information because they require a fair amount of planning and good execution. That could give other players ideas on how to get through a section more consistently. Or it could just be entertaining to watch. There's literally no need to lie. Getting exposed on the other hand can ruin his entire channel. The risk just isn't worth the short-lived fame.
Good video. Your other videos don’t really interest me so I wasn’t gonna subscribe and just watch something else, but then. But then I heard the risk of rain soundtrack as your outro. Fastest sub of my life
splicing was a thing that worked like 25 years ago. seeing people still trying this is so funny to watch, it’s insanely easy to see splices and invisible mods.
It's a classic cheater tactic to only admit to some parts of your wrongdoings and not all of it in the hopes that admitting that one thing gets everyone off your back. Where there's smoke, there's fire as some say.
As a veritable "pest threads to my back" enjoyer, I instantly felt the disturbance in the Force when this guy just casually circled around the kindred on Torrent
I mean, if he is cutting the run why would he cheat, he can just cut and try again, its pefect dodge timing, you can see the first milisecond the door animation ends he is already in the rolling animation, he probably spammed roll and it perfectly timed the shoot on the last pixel
It is my belief that most no-hit runs are fake. If they are not live, i dismiss them outright, and even if they are live that is no guarantee. One of the biggest cheater fallacies is that someone is really good at the game so why would they cheat, when the reverse is true: people who are really good feel more entitled to cheat because they know they can do it - eventually - so why waste all that time? I'm not saying everyone cheats, I just believe most challenges are achieved with cheats, even if they are subtle ones.
It's incredible how people still think they can get away with the common splice. It's the first thing people check for when they have any suspicions. This guy didn't even try to hide the audio cuts lol.
Other moments that I believe are HIGHLY likely to be proof of invulnerability that are seen in this video: 1:48 - I believe the slam from the Bloodfiend has an aoe that would have at least stunned him, if not outright doing damage. 2:40 - The dude isn’t even block cancelling the animation for picking up the items on the ground. That animation slows you down and doesn’t let you roll until several frames in, as seen at about 2:41 when the dog bites him and he rolls after the bite animation is already finished (he was spamming dodge and so the input got buffered and was executed after the pickup animation finished). I’m pretty confident at least one of the two bites there did hit him. Not only is not knowing an extremely basic tech like block canceling indicative of this guy’s utter lack of knowledge of the game, it’s also responsible for him getting (likely) hit on multiple occasions even in a single clip. 3:39 - I’m pretty confident that one stray thread goes through Torrent’s head. It’s not super clear because Torrent’s head is mostly out of frame but it is EXTREMELY suspicious to say the least.
13:34 NOT ALWAYS! Lmfao. Ive seen all too many PLAN on those I frames and get stomped at a door or Teleporter ect.. "WHAT I HAD I FRAMES! RAAAA WTF MAN" Too funny.
At 25:36.5 it looks like God mode helped with another one of those projectiles. I don't own Elden Ring, but I own bloodborne and have beaten lies of P and boy howdy that run up those stairs looked sketchy. Unsure how hitboxes work in Elden but I know ALLLL of those whirlwinds would have hit in bloodborne
at 15:34 he has a weird dodge of a projectile where his head ducks slightly under the arc after a jump, idk if the hitboxes are just super precise but this is elden ring and sometimes hitboxes are janky so it might be worth looking at bc it looks like he should've gotten hit
I’m not saying he isn’t cheating but @8:01 it could be that the game glitched and when he touched the grace it refreshed the area, it happens a few times while I was playing on ps4
If you allow getting things in base game beforehand, then the strat of just unga bunga the blood fiend to get the arm would be something you could do, its so early in the run that resetting woudnt be that big of a deal. The grace strat in the castle could be an adlib. But everything after that is sketchy at best.
3:52 I have to say that i also always just ride into them since i found out they always misses when i get to close. Just charge a big heavy on the horse and bump into them. Never had problems with these guys anymore. But i agree that just going invis and pass by would be much saver for a no hit run.
Hey, great video. I was just curious about one thing which was the source of the info that s on rolls have 2-3 frame startup? Every source I've found says s start on frame 1 which would make the clip make sense because the runner would have plenty of time to mash/queue a roll input during the door animation rather than just outright using a no-hitbox cheat. Would be great to know for sure, thanks
15:00 It's obvious why he wasn't hit here. He used his mangekyou sharingan eye. Hidden behind his white mask to transfer his weak, spliced spine to the kamui realm for extra i-frames.
Even the Waterfowl dodges that came out early were done with godmode and hitboxes turned on for visual reference by MrBorkD. Most of the challenge run scene openly shares info and cheats. Its why old challenge runners like myself don't take challenge running seriously anymore.
Me while watching: Sure, but just because they used unsafe strats doesn’t mean they couldn’t get lucky. H2: “So you’re probably thinking…” Me: Damn, he’s good..

that's the thing you always see with cheated speedruns, the speedrunner does baffling unskilled maneuvers but still manages to make it by luck. Meaning that someone more skilled could easily replicate what they did and get a better time by optimizing the run with the same amount of luck

Roll Iframes start at 1st frame of the roll, so its perfectly fine if he spams roll, obviously the rest is spliced, but this one is fine
Thank you, I was thinking the same thing. Since you can buffer the input as well I’m fairly certain this is correct.
idk why would he use god mode in a spliced no hit run, 90% of hits would be extremely obvious. Also with god mode he could not see an obvious hit, and then people would have more proof of him getting hit
Htwo is just completely wrong on that whole section. I don’t even know where they got the idea of claiming a 2 frame startup on rolling I-frames. Like, it is common knowledge and very easy to check if you have any modding tool experience.
yeah that roll is safe
@@yanli111 if the i-frames kick in IMMEDIATELY after pressing roll, then I dunno, I guess my game is bugged then.

Not a game/dlc that was released a week ago.
i also noticed that during the run through with the pests, he got hit by a single pest thread, which didnt damage him or torrent, even though it clearly went through their hitbox
pest threads hitboxes are a bit fucky, the trails can go through you without damaging, the hitbox is mostly on the front end of the projectile.
It didn't actually hit him, if you slow it down you can tell that that was just the trail from the thread thing
I was willing to be more charitable to this guy when I thought he was maybe a relatively small channel, but each of his videos get upwards of 100k views, even breaking into the millions on some of them, that’s not okay at all, a lot of fame, praise, and (most likely) ad revenue being directed towards someone who absolutely does not deserve it, good on you for spreading the word

not arguing against the fact that its spliced just want to mention if you go frame by frame, at 13:53 you can see the stamina drain from the roll just before it hits him 2-3 frames before where you pause. i dont know the attacks frame data to say for certain but if its small enough he couldve got an insanely lucky roll, as you can buffer rolls from door openings.
The problem isn't the stamina but that he went for a very risky jump attack while having 1 stamina
@@sunbleachedangel think you’re talking about a different part, there is no jump attack in what im talking about

Around 12:10 you said “spliced” and an ad for an editing app come up called “splice”. Perfect timing💀
for the part near the end of the video about him opening the door in regards to cheats, i think it might be invincibility and/or automatic dodgeroll upon being hit.
I watched *some* of the actual no hit video, with my confirmation bias in tow, i was able me to nitpick out some instances of invulnerability, these are a bit more subjective than splicing.
these timestamps are not for this video but rather the no hit run video:
13:38 (someone should check whether you can be hit by the blade of this long ranged attack)
13:41
30:51
44:52 (i already pointed out this one)
45:05 (this one's already in the video but i can't stress how ridiculous this looks, the only way this is possible is if input buffering applies to the opening doors animation)
He tried to jump over the first shoot but it hit the ground below the enemy and then he spam rolled mid air
@@locki_dosIts always utterly fascinating to me when people can just lie with such confidence
This video was made incredibly well with a lot of critical thinking. You guessed and answered every single question that i had.

Htwo: "Listen carefully to this splice audio"

14:22 that’s…not true as far as I’m aware. Rolling I-frames starts immediately on the first frame, there is no 2 frames startup, not even for fat roll, you can check this with animation tools, this is true across all souls game. The startup delay ppl experience is an input delay, not an animation or I-frames delay.
In short, if you queue a roll right after opening door or other events(like knock down), you do get immediate and don’t even have any input delay(since it is queued).
@@yanli111 sooooooo....it's basically the same as having i-frame and animation delay, and leads to the same effect. Got it.
@@Dakumun640 no you didn't get it lol. Input delay and having 2 frames of vulnerability in the dodge animation are completely different things in this context. Here's how:
If there was 2 frames of vulnerability, then he would get clipped by the attack like the guy said in the video, since the animation would start immediately when your invincibility from door opening have ended, and those 2 frames would get caught by the attack.

This is spicy. Great video! I've started making elden ring videos recently and was debating doing a challenge run.
the video by niko completely shafts the real player who achieved a no hit, i believe it was Question Marks
For example:
Sekiro:
- Yolo Gun Fort (running through gun fort is not safe due to the amount of gunshots that are thrown at you in the section). This is a heavy reset point if not the very main one.
- Section running up to geni (frontside skip, for any knowers). This section is completely safe if you do it the hitless way, but when you add speed to it and are going for record time, then it’s recommended that you “yolo” this area too.
Dark souls 3:
- Deacons of the deep yolo attacking.
Rolling frames are active immediately as soon as you release the roll button and the invulnerability is active as soon as the dodge animation starts.

I mean, if he is cutting the run why would he cheat, he can just cut and try again, its pefect dodge timing, you can see the first milisecond the door animation ends he is already in the rolling animation, he probably spammed roll and it perfectly timed the shoot on the last pixel
No he halfway came clean and made an excuse saying “I never claimed it was an actual Hitless not spliced run” he knew what he was doing.
solid detective work... tarnished CSI :D
Speedrunner viewers/ community are probably one of the sharpest people ever.

It's incredible how people still think they can get away with the common splice. It's the first thing people check for when they have any suspicions. This guy didn't even try to hide the audio cuts lol.
Other moments that I believe are HIGHLY likely to be proof of invulnerability that are seen in this video:
1:48 - I believe the slam from the Bloodfiend has an aoe that would have at least stunned him, if not outright doing damage.
I knew it. That speedrun always seems suspicious to me when I look at it.
Single sitting runners simply can't handle the spliced runner chads.

idc what anybody says... Unga bunga roll has gotten me through some of my hardest moments in my souls runs.
at 15:34 he has a weird dodge of a projectile where his head ducks slightly under the arc after a jump, idk if the hitboxes are just super precise but this is elden ring and sometimes hitboxes are janky so it might be worth looking at bc it looks like he should've gotten hit
I’m not saying he isn’t cheating but @8:01 it could be that the game glitched and when he touched the grace it refreshed the area, it happens a few times while I was playing on ps4
htwo videos are always bangers
Dude should just call himself FaZe
