Even back in the day there was money involved in most of the big name players who went to any major school...now its just out in the open and legally able to happen.
The NIL money offered should be held in escrow until the player graduates, with a monthly stipend for living costs. If a player chooses to leave early there is a penalty for early termination and repayment of any scholarships. However, if a player completes his entire commitment of four years he is entitled to the remaining monies held in escrow, but not until he graduates.
I've been saying the "escrow" since before they implemented the NIL. I've always said that all ALL sports contracts should be performance based too. But who am I, just a dude who works for a living.

A verbal agreement only becomes binding when at least one party has performed their part of the bargain. Rashada never signed with Florida so the agreement never became binding. But that's why Rashada is also alleging tortious interference since the Florida offer made him back out of the Miami offer. This'll be an interesting case.
There is a reason its called a con- tract . The word Con is defined something used to deceptively to gain anothers confidence. The word Tract is defined as a piece of writing that is suggestive . Therefore you should always have a lawyer present before signing about any sums of yen.
The nil will be the end of college football. They will end up paying 20 mil + a year before they even know if he will be a starter. And what happens if he gets injured?
I have always thought that athletes shouldn’t be eligible to receive NIL deals until they have been established (get playing time) as a contributor. That might hopefully end five star HS athlete getting deals based on their potential and therefore going to the school that is the highest bidder for their services. I am very much in favor of them getting a piece of the pie, but they should have to earns it.
These athletics and their family’s better get this stuff in writing. People can say anything. If it’s not in writing, it doesn’t matter in the business world. Just like these athletics can commit and de-commit, so can these Boosters and Coaches with NIL deals. Get It In Writing!
Miami is a private school so I believe that. This NIL and now the schools can pay the kids is going to be the wild Wild West for the first couple of years , give them some years, learn from mistakes, and then they will develop more structure
First of all the foundation of the NIL and the transfer portal are designed to do exactly what they’re doing. Lack of integrity and greed are steering the ship. Disguised as helping the student athletes with financial needs it has become a get rich scheme. One of the main topics in the news today is student loan debt and how it’s become a burden for graduates. These kids have, and have had, an opportunity to get a degree without any debt for decades, but refuse to take advantage of that fact, instead opting for these degrees that don’t mean anything. Now on top of that you add NIL and transferring, you’ve got kids going to the highest bidders. You have just exactly what a few always wanted, their teams winning everything and we have the money to do it. Instead of, we have a good coach, we have our fan base and those that like our team /school, and want to play here, so come on and let’s compete. Now you have kids that barely reach the requirements of attending college, becoming rich without even stepping foot on a professional field. You can argue the underprivileged aspect all you want, but these kids are being guided by those who expect to benefit from their good fortune. I hope you get what you all deserve.
Its a whole new landscape in college football, think NFL. The portal now is the free agent market. High-school 5 star players are now number 1 draft picks. That being said you can get a guy out of the portal with experience that is right now better then a 5 star or 4 star freshman, so contracts in the NFL are just like contracts in college, they aren't guaranteed at all. These players and coaches better wrap their heads around this sooner rather than later. Coach Prime is 10 steps ahead of the game.
Yea but you can’t alter a kids life and decisions by offering him money than allowing him to enroll in your program then pull the rug out after the fact! It’s bs and they will end up having to pay trust me! In Florida verbal contracts hold up in court!
The problem with requiring schools to pay students directly will reduce the scholarships on smaller D1 schools. That hurts athletes and college scholarships. A scholarship is life changing for the student athkete. We need to maximize the small sports like women’s tennis.
This whole NIL thing is going to blow up kids are going to just stay in school they make more money than they would on rookie NFL contracts. It’s kind of a mess
Before long boosters will be recruiting 8th graders with NIL deals. (As if this isn’t happening.) And the youth will end up like child actors without a “Coogan’s Act” (Cal. Child Actor’s Bill) to protect some of their earnings from their agents and family.
If a kid signs for nil, then he or she or them or that (what ever they want to be called) should have to share their money with the whole team, I hear what these star players all say " couldn't have done it without my team mates " . You got that right, so share
Wow they promised this and didn't do it? It can't be that simple! Am I missing something? They didn't think he wouldn't push back on him not getting his money!?
it sounds and looks better to create businesses to put people to work for the city along with laundering money instead of just giving the athlete the cash. everyone gotta get their piece.

@@princeofjudaeathen again you gotta understand that crumbs to what they’ll make off a players jersey sales. Before they would get nothing not even factoring in ticket sales, TV deals etc. Don’t underestimate how much these schools make off of ONE athletic program alone not even mentioning other sports. These kids deserve every dime they get let’s be real you’d eat this up if you were a player today.
@andrianminer8711 nobody wears college jerseys like that. They money off of merchandise sales, but the bulk of their money comes from tv deals. Most of these young athletes haven't earned the privilege of million dollar contracts straight out of high school. They haven't even proven themselves at the collegiate level yet. Just because you were dominate against high school teenagers doesn't mean you'll be dominate at the college level. And just because you're dominate at the college level doesn't mean you'll be dominate at the pro level.
@@princeofjudaea yeah your extremely outta touch with todays game you lost me at people ain’t wearing college jerseys like that as if they don’t have student bodies & alum that support schools not to mention the millionaire boosters that allows them to even see those’re type of NIL-numbers to begin with. Just face it this the new work of college ball these kids are getting what their worth get over it or don’t watch quit crying.
There needs to be a CAP on how much a player can be paid. They are getting a free education, free housing and most of the time a 100% free ride. NIL has gotten way out of hand. When are players from the past gonna say I did this and I did that, now you owe me $$$ !
Bootlicker alert 🚨 it’s a free market there shouldn’t be any limits on someone’s earning potential if someone is willing to pay them
@@nathanchen6523 Apparently its all his money even the taxes is all his and everyone that gets paid he is also paying for! Talking bout a cap when they are going too go on and make the companies well over what they are paying out or they wouldn't even do it. Millions aint nothing to Multi-billion dollar companies that have die hard fans.
@@nathanchen6523free market? Boot licker? This is a COLLEGE SPORT. Even then NFL has salary caps in place!
You think this affects the schools profits?? NOPE!
They used football revenues to fund unprofitable sports like rowing, swimming, soccer, ect.
If there’s less money, then those sports are the first to go 🤷♂️
Especially at schools with less money.
Keep that sane energy with these over paid coaches who don't risk their body to play...Congress need to cap public universities payment to coaches since they receive federal money as well.
Nah....I'm not with you on that. Shitt6 room and board and a free education does NOT equate to a college making millions or billions off of student athletes names. It's never ever made sense how these universities just took over all rights to these students likenesses for peanuts and the 'promise of a better future'.
It never made sense and it's the entire reason the NIL even became a thing in the first place
"A verbal contract isn't worth the paper it's printed on." -- Sam Goldwyn
In Florida it is
In Florida it is and if they have text messages to prove it… it’s a wrap … they going to end up having to settle….
@@TheKaoticivory And if my aunt had testicles, she'd be my uncle. If they had actual proof it would have surfaced long ago.
when you sit back and listen to what you said that the kid was offered 9.8 million that he would would have got for sure, man that kind of thing that just runs college football to meand it's easy to fix you give us a set amount to each school that they can spend
Commits to Georgia and then decides to sue Florida finally. Lmaooo top trolling by Kirby
Someone tell me what happened, bro be dancing around the point to make the video longer
Jaden needs to get himself some “soul glo”. Get that hair sparkling.
Isn’t that a spoken agreement which makes them liable?
A verbal agreement only becomes binding when at least one party has performed their part of the bargain. Rashada never signed with Florida so the agreement never became binding. But that's why Rashada is also alleging tortious interference since the Florida offer made him back out of the Miami offer. This'll be an interesting case.
Damn son 🥺🙏 dope report tho!!👍
PizzaBeGreat
CoffeBeGreat
BurgerBeGreat
would actually be a catchy name
Word of mouth agreements are legally binding in Florida so it will hold up in court
This is insanity. Collegiate athletics desperately needs reform. Now.
There is a reason its called a con- tract . The word Con is defined something used to deceptively to gain anothers confidence. The word Tract is defined as a piece of writing that is suggestive . Therefore you should always have a lawyer present before signing about any sums of yen.
Verbals are negotiating. Verbal not a contract.
Proverbs 18:17
In a lawsuit the first to speak seems right, until someone comes forward and cross-examines.
Verbal contracts are just as enforceable as written contracts!!
This is how good a coach Kirby is, hes probably paying for these lawyers trying to smear Florida and hurt recruiting pretty funny
The nil will be the end of college football. They will end up paying 20 mil + a year before they even know if he will be a starter. And what happens if he gets injured?
That’s the state of FL for u in a nut shell
I have always thought that athletes shouldn’t be eligible to receive NIL deals until they have been established (get playing time) as a contributor. That might hopefully end five star HS athlete getting deals based on their potential and therefore going to the school that is the highest bidder for their services. I am very much in favor of them getting a piece of the pie, but they should have to earns it.
The dude owns a car agency, the gator guard, is just for liability.
These athletics and their family’s better get this stuff in writing. People can say anything. If it’s not in writing, it doesn’t matter in the business world. Just like these athletics can commit and de-commit, so can these Boosters and Coaches with NIL deals.
Get It In Writing!
That’s cool my high school made it on the video freedom high! When I playing we we’re Pittsburghs biggest rival now we suck
When it comes to that kind of cash, the only promise that matters is on paper.
Miami is a private school so I believe that. This NIL and now the schools can pay the kids is going to be the wild Wild West for the first couple of years , give them some years, learn from mistakes, and then they will develop more structure
Matt, everyone knows Tortious is short for Turtle Law... 🐢
Tortious Interference is a fancy way of saying a 3rd party interfered and I'm suing them also.
Florida's only way not to play that kid. Sounds like a good 10 year penalty.Paying the kid with a yearly inflation.
tortious (tor-shus)
Unless there’s something in writing this isn’t gonna go very far.
I could be wrong but I think it’s said like tor-shus
Sue them then
First of all the foundation of the NIL and the transfer portal are designed to do exactly what they’re doing.
A term describing behavior that constitutes a tort. i googled it makes no sense
Florida made the right call.He isn’t worth $14 million.Wtf has he done.High school dominatation.Lol
Tortoise is a legal term used in court for definition look it up
I wish commented had voice clips
If a kid signs for nil, then he or she or them or that (what ever they want to be called) should have to share their money with the whole team, I hear what these star players all say " couldn't have done it without my team mates " . You got that right, so share
I betcha the U would’ve came through on that 9.5 Mill😆😆😆😆😆😆
Why didn’t he just sign with Miami instead tho?
Wow they promised this and didn't do it? It can't be that simple! Am I missing something? They didn't think he wouldn't push back on him not getting his money!?
It's tort-yus or tor-tchee-us I think.
Sounds like he screwed himself being greedy. Shoulda stuck to your word, he didn't, and THEY didn't stick to their word
Since Rusty Hardin took the case and has text messages as proof, methinks Rashada has a case.
I’m 46 and I’ll sign whatever for 14 million
it sounds and looks better to create businesses to put people to work for the city along with laundering money instead of just giving the athlete the cash. everyone gotta get their piece.
Have a hard time feeling bad for this kid but he committed to Miami and then got a better offer and told them to go pound sand and then it blew up in his face. He will get his millions eventually some team is going to pay him
Where's the signed contract? Without a contract it's just talk.....
