- Coming out of Florida, James Williams was a 5 star recruit and a super athlete ranked inside the top 15 of the 2020 class. After a hot start at Miami, he was a projected first round pick, but due to underwhelming stats and coaching mistakes, Williams fell all the way to the 7th round and may struggle to find a role in the NFL. So what happened? Today, we will talk about the rise of James Williams, his college career and what happened to cause his stock to crash, enjoy!

Who is another player who got screwed by his own coaching staff I could cover next?
Spencer Rattler, Riley screwed him over and he lost confidence I understand he got cocky
Since you did five star James William how about his teammate Leonard Taylor who was also a five star
It's all the coordinators fault IMO
Scott. Check out my independent comment. I believe “screwed over by coaching” is disingenuous and incorrect.
@@Packerfan5827 Spencer did it to himeself. I bet nobody wants to coach him.
You should make a video about penn state db kalen king, I remember seeing articles calling him the best corner in the draft
Drafted is drafted!
Well yes and no
A 1st or early round pick is generally gurnteeed a roster spot
And has more leeway in terms of development
Getting drafted is an amazing milestone and should be celebrated but Getting drafted higher does have benfits even beyond on $
@@justinterry2926either way, making it to the highest stage is a blessing
NOT…YOU OBVIOUSLY DONT KNOW THE DATA

He Wasn't Even Born In Ft. Lauderdale Or Plantation HE ALWAYS Lived In Miami. He WENT To School In Plantation Because Of Some Coaches At The School.
Die hard Miami fan, James legit has all the talent in the world and I would solely put his stunted growth on the coaching staff. Also though the kid 100% should have come back to school.
Leonard Taylor was another guy on the same teams with James that was a highly coveted 5* recruit and and Taylor absolutely had a few WOW moments. He is super talented, he had a very very poor combine and ended going UNDRAFTED while he also had a year of eligibility left. There were plenty of preseason mocks that had James and Taylor both going top 40. Kam kinchens too, 3rd rd pick and definitely has the stats and had the 1st rd projections and still fell to end of the third
Took the words out of my mouth 🙄 terrible development year after year
False IMO. I made my own comment in length on the channel as well. In summary James himself insisted he play safety and did not want to move to linebacker. On top of that Mario had no one better on the roster to play safety. As a die hard fan, you should know in 22 and 23 there was no one better than him. James issue was for all his talent, he wasn’t very fast, he needed to rely on instinct to make up for speed. Leanord Taylor was infamously lazy. Much talk amongst fans and insiders he did not put in the work and seemed to care more about streaming video games than playing football. Kam did everything he could on the field. Ultimately his size and speed shied teams away he’s 5 10/11 205 and ran a 4.6. If he was 6 2 215-220 and ran a 4.4 he’d been a top 10 pick with what he put on tape.
James wanted to play safety instead of LB last season at Miami
@@tlobrill1they won’t listen
@@JwadeProductions7 yah easy to tell the casuals from the real ones
Had his best season last year, should have stayed for his senior year and played LB but wanted to leave for whatever reason. Hope he kills it in the NFL
TENNESSEE HAS HIM AT LINEBACKER NOW..
That Miami development!
No lol he should have stayed one more year. It’s Mel kiper lying so Miami guys leave early so Miami is trash. Won’t happen many more times though.

AS a hurricanes fan,,,,,since 2000.....if you want to win and become successful, miami is not the place to be
this is how i feel when i see my cowboys draft players. i really think damn. he isn't winning a chip for atleast a decade
False. Miami just had two d ends go first round and dominating the nfl 😂😂 derrrr
@@juhgfdsapiyhhnnxc3517that was 4 drafts ago and neither of those players played one snap for Mario-no or Jason Taylor. Derrr

It seems that Miami is living off an old brand from the 80’s and early 90’s. Since then, they’ve been an average team.
Average is an overstatement
I like this channel however you are misinformed. Steeles quote was to put an end to the speculation as to where he would play. The coaches didnt screw over Williams, he very much insisted he play safety. James quote is him admitting he would eventually be playing linebacker as that is what all the coaches were telling him.
He was able to dictate where he played in part because of the transition of coaches. The roster was in horrible shape when Mario got there particularly at safety. They couldn’t move him full time Lb because they had no one better to play safety. Mario’s philosophy is build from the inside out, which is evident in his recruiting and portal pulls up to this point. James also likely had some leeway because he bought in and as stated American Heritage is a major HS program. Mario has already taken multiple kids from there including some of the OSU flips.
Lastly, he wasn’t very good in 22. He played almost the whole season with a hurt shoulder that required surgery. This made it difficult to wrap up so he tried “hit stick” type tackles with his good shoulder. He gave up massive big plays as a result. His best season was 23. With a healthy shoulder and Guidry tutelage he made tackles all over, single handedly saving the game with a one on one open field tackle against Shipley in OT, had he missed, ship walks into the endzone.
I like this channel as well but I agree almost all his information in this video was very inaccurate
@@w3kgaming46 yah. It sort of made me wonder how wrong he is on the others. This seemed like a low hanging fruit topic because he was a 5* that went 7th round. The quotes are definitly misrepresented in the video.
Exactly
What happened to James Williams is very simple, he needed to stay another year.
He never moved to linebacker at Miami?!??!
The fanbase was begging for him to do so, but he always played strong safety at Miami?
Miami played Kiko M, Wesley B, KJ Cloyd, and Corey Flagg at Linebacker and that’s it.
Make a story on Kaelen King, the Penn State CB. Fell to the 7th round after being a projected 1st round pick.
Not wrapping up, and i always always saw him talking trash after every tackle. He always lead with his shoulder.
Miami that was the issue he was better going somewhere out the state but Miami Florida state and Florida recruiting be advertising hella money and a comeback
Imo he should have went to alabama and developed under saban he would have had more stability, won, and knew what he needed to do to become a nfl db or developed into a raw edge rusher miami is a total mess these days
When you have safeties like Bennie Blades, the late great Sean Taylor, and Mr. Ed Reed then you’ve got some big shoes to fill. You will need to bring your “A” game at all times.
Made A Whole Video With False Information Is Hilarious. Now I How To Question Them Other Videos You Made About People
HE SHOULD'VE CAME TO THE UNIVERSITY OF GEORGIA
KIRBY AND SCHUMANN WOULD'VE MADE HIM A TOP 5 LINEBACKER IN THE NATION.
PLUS HE WOULD HAVE 2 NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP RINGS
BAMA OR GEORGIA WOULDVE DEVELOP HIM GREATLY
False. No one wants to play for a bunch of rednecks
He grew up in Opa Locka not Plantation 🤦🏽♂️
He should have just stayed for senior year. When will Miami players learn they are telling you that you’ll learn the board early so you leave Miami….like how haven’t they noticed it yet. It’s common sense…..use your heads….
TLDR Dude just couldn't cover.
I THINK TENNESSEE SHOULD TRY HIM AT SAFTEY..MOST SAFETIES THAT TURN INTO LINEBACKER NEVER PAN OUT REALLY..HE REALLY NEVER REALLY WAS DEVELOP BY THE COACHING STAFF
James Only On 1 a State Championship And That Was During Covid Season Not No Damn 2017
Nothing happened, he should of moved to LB like the coaching staff insisted & stayed an extra year🤷🏾♂️ simple
The U.....
He Didn't Play For American Heritage His Freshmen Year Play At Pace. Transferred To Heritage His Sophomore Year
Damn How You Make A Video Of Someone And Don't Even Do Research On Basic Information 😂
He got drafted though.
Lenard Taylor 5 star undrafted
he used to follow me on ig
All y’all talkin bout coaching staff knows nothing about what went on at Miami. The coaches wanted him to play LB last year and he declined saying, “ I want to change when I’m ready.”
So basically the coaching staff couldn't coach him in his strengths? How is that James fault 😂
@@champ2233killad it’s no one’s fault I’m not saying that. I’m saying he wasn’t ready to switch. People blame the coaches like they didn’t do or try to do what they thought he would be projected as for the NFL. They had enough respect for him to let him make that transition when he was ready is all I’m sayin. No one’s at fault.
NOW AT TENNESSEE THEY HAVE HIM LISTED AS THE THIRD LINEBACKER
Do Kalen King
To many arm tackles
I bet Alabama Georgia and Clemson fans are all laughing at this kid Miami was the wrong choice for him
Naming Clemson along with with Alabama and Georgia is laughable 😂
@@SavdoXBL I believe Clemson was good at the time of his recruitment

You Also Put In Mind That James Got Drafted In A Class Where Or Prospects Were In College For 6 Years 😂
Who’s to say he still won’t have a very successful career in the league ? 😕
He got drafted and he left a year early
