everything they showed isnt what we got. The balck and silver wasnt tinted. We got tint and lost the silver as well as the rear showing the clean cable management. Beyond disappointed and hard pass on this case now!
I just got an MSI case that seems the inverse of this-short height and thicc. MSI MAG 120R pz. Great to see the designs branching out from the standard straight through airflow cases of yesterday.
I was excited for this case to come out but they changed the design from CES and I don't like the final look. The black and silver look was amazing and the back panel with 24 and 8 pin cable channels looked amazing but they removed the two main features that I really liked. I have a couple Thermaltake, Lian Li and an NV7 case and I am also disappointed in the build quality of my NV7 compared to my Thermaltake and Lian Li cases.
30mm fans will sit a little proud of the tray in the bottom and on the top if you sandwich the fans and radiator on either side of the tray, allowing about 5mm to show from the side... 25mm fans will fit flush with nothing visible from the side.
i'm thinking of getting either the antec flux or the antec c8 for around the same price . Which one would be the better option considering i'm planning to get an rtx 50 series gpu ?
The case looks great, but the fan layout doesn’t work for me. I currently have four Lian Li TLLCD 120 Uni Fans on the side displaying the system stats for my GPU and CPU, which makes them redundant in the Phanteks Evolv X2. I think I'll stick with my Corsair 7000D Airflow although I would like a case that's a bit lighter the Corsair 7000D is a tank when fully loaded.
I really don't understand why are they making cases where the intake should come from the bottom but below the fans they have the PSU and the cables which block half of the fans?!?
@@pharmeee Yes much better but the DeepCool CH780 is even better cause you don't have to use this extension cable for the PSU as it's dual chamber design
the Hydroshift should fit but not in the way you want it. The hidden tubes installation of the Hydroshift requires support for a 140mm fan to account for the space the hidden tubes would take being in side of the radiator. If you install it traditionally (tubes not hidden), I don't think there will be a problem.
2 things: 1. I wish they had more colors available than just all black and all white. The original Evolv X had black, silver, and gray variants available, and I LOVED the look of the silver one. I just couldn't afford it at the time because I only had a part-time job and couldn't swing 200 bucks for just the case. 2. WHY does Phanteks keep doing the "door within a door" thing on their higher-end cases like this? It's dumb AF (IMO) and just adds extra cost to have a glass back panel. If you're gonna have a door to cover the cables anyway, just do a solid metal back panel! It's redundant and unnecessary. Plus you could then add a fan bracket to the side of the mobo tray for the people who want side fans since there is no front fan option.
@@pharmeee Right?! It's unnecessary and just extra weight and a dust magnet, lol. I do love how they made the bottom a whole separate platform thingy, though, for those of us still having to put our PC on the floor in a room with a carpeted floor.
@@kasper_429 Actually I see why they did it now. It's so the glass will look like it's fully wrapped around to the back and you can see completely through the right third of it. Go to 8:37 to see that shot.
@@pharmeee Yeah I know, but besides that I don't get it. They could've at least given us a 3/4 metal door with a smaller glass panel just to the right of the mobo tray where you could see it. That, along with an included mesh mini-panel and fan bracket, would be ideal. It would also bump the cost up a little bit, but it'd be worth it for the versatility and extra cooling potential.
@@kasper_429 I gotcha. Even though it's massive, I am kind of leaning towards buying the Antec Flux Pro for my next case. It has everything I want I just wish it was smaller.
They have placed the backlight where it is almost invisible. Why was it necessary to place the PC power and reset buttons at the top, near the tall case that should be on the table? It's not convenient, they put everything else at the bottom.🤨
You walk over to your desk to use your PC, do you not? When you're standing up, you press the power button, then you sit down and you can directly reach the USB ports on the side. It's not that hard or inconvenient, lol.
@@kasper_429 It's not difficult, it's just inconvenient, when you need to press reset on the case, you have to get up, don't you? And if you are short, you will have to feel for these buttons every time, at a time when the USB connectors will always be at your fingertips, it would be more logical to place the on and reset buttons at the bottom as well. They definitely shouldn't have placed the backlight on the lid, sitting at the table, it's not visible there.
@@jjkirbs dont know what u mean but I was talkin about a panel / cover / shroud or whatever u want to call it, which was on the back of the motherboard tray on the "old" pictures from last year computex. there u could clip in sleeved cables and it looked dope. @@RocceFella187 Yes. This was a major disappointment. I had been waiting for this case since computex. But now it's just another case with a steel door covered with a glass panel. My guess is that they ditched the cable channels to support back connect.
yes, the case that you have seen In advance was exactly what I was waiting for! The stuff that they finally brought to market is all the more disappointing. Again, totally boring, same old stuff and the best things that you can see here have been removed. Very disappointing.
What I am most disappointed about it now is that the graphics card bracket is too short. It can't support the outside of the graphics card. It's useless.
WHERE TF IS THE ORIGINAL SILVER ON BLACK CONTRAST PHANTEKS??!! Put the Silver on Black option BACK!!! Executives were likely responsible for this stupidity.
Im not trying to sound like a dick but..... Why watch the video? You ruined it saying is it worth my 149usd!!!!!!! It was definitely worth it once you said the price lol😂😅😂😅 I've been waiting so long for the price. Unfortunately in Canada that means S249 Canadian haha. Another great video.

This is the most beautiful case I've seen in a very very long time that I just had to order it.
What an absolute BEAUTIFUL case!!!! I cannot wait to get my hands on one and start building in it!!! Phanteks killed it with this design!!!
Excellent build as usual! Really cannot wait to get my hands on the white variant of the case!
I think this is a good case at a great price point. I ordered one and cant wait to build in it.
Nice job Gear Seekers!! The build looks absolutely stunning! Cant wait to get one!!!
the recessed fans slots are great, it make your build so clean. I only wish they stick with having fans at the side for max airflow.
I love low/no tools required cases like these, I imagine having access from 3 sides should make building a breeze

is it going to be difficult to buy?

I've seen you do a couple of videos with the MSI X870E Carbon, been looking to get one myself and was wondering how you've liked it so far
Love my NV7 but I could see building a PC in this Evolv X2 easily its a very attractive case
This will be my next build for 5080 =) thx

I think the lack of fans and setup for gpu cooling over cpu cooling might not work for certain setups.
That base plate os plastic or metal?
It’s plastic
