Oh My Goodness! This young man has it 100% correct. As a person who has seen the decline over the past 50+ yrs in the accurate understanding of a true prophet, it is refreshing to hear a young person vet it right. The prophet, designated by God, generally had a corporate word for nation or leader. This contemporary "version" of prophesy amounts to fortune telling which is demonic and self-serving. @@thebeatagp REPENT: Christmas is condemned in Revelation 11:10 and Jeremiah 10:1-5. Easter is condemned in Acts 12:4 and Ezekiel 8:16. The heathens kept Christmas as shown in Jeremiah 10:1-5 by decking the trees they cut out of the forest with gold and silver. Today people use gold and silver look alikes. By keeping Christmas, you are observing the downfall of mankind in the garden of Eden. There is only one season in the year when the heathens are merry and exchange gifts as written in Revelation 11:10. I am not truly a member of any earthly church but I do visit Sabbath churches like the Adventist and church of God. Sometimes I meet Sunday keepers and because I love them, I tell them to repent. I'm a Southern Baptist woman who has had dreams and a vision about the end times. I had no help from the SB because of cessation. Went to a charismatic church for advice and their ideas of prophecy don't match scripture. Someone claiming to have new revelation not in scripture, is not something I believe. I also can't plan a date to have a dream, a vision or a word and charge people to come to it. Scripture should do the heavy lifting of revelation. The Holy Spirit should help with specific application. My dreams and visions do not contradict scripture and I wasn't given a date. But a sense of urgency came over me to let what I've been shown set my priorities. One vision I had was seeing the church as people with their heads down busy sitting at desks. Too busy with what's in front of them to notice the time of day, much less to look at the clock to see it's almost time to go home. The sense of urgency first made me think it was coming now. But I think I'm supposed to live like it's coming now, even if soon to God is 50 more years. If God gives us more years of freedom in this country, it's so we can fill the lifeboats, not to make us prosperous. When the dreams came, a sin issue I struggled with for years was taken. And I don't care a thing about the comforts of this world.

I’ve been on the fence about the prophets/“prophets” I’ve seen and it’s because they’re always so full of positivity and generalizations. The last man I watched, stood in front of the congregation and announced that someone would be gaining a very large inheritance and would write a $250k check to the church. Actually, if you look at Isaiah's prophecies against Damascus, Cush, Egypt etc, these are prophecies concerning the future. And that of the prophet Nathan when he says to David ''Now, therefore, the sword shall never depart from your house, because you despised me and took the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be your own. “This is what the Lord says: ‘Out of your own household I am going to bring calamity on you. Before your very eyes I will take your wives and give them to one who is close to you, and he will sleep with your wives in broad daylight. You did it in secret, but I will do this thing in broad daylight before all Israel.’” Then David said to Nathan, “I have sinned against the Lord.”Nathan replied, “The Lord has taken away your sin. But because by doing this you have shown utter contempt for the Lord, the son born to you will die.” 2 Samuel 12.10-14 And some prophecies speak of the restoration of Israel, albeit usually after the destruction of Israel but there are still good prophecies in the Old Testament. I do see the difference what was prophesied then to the majority of what is being prophesied these days but my previous church prophesied only it wasn't about prosperity or health and the teaching was pretty sound from what I remember. I was prophesied to once when I'd come back to church after backsliding through the pain of my past. I was broken and an elderly lady in the church prophesied to me saying that God is going to use me to help others with what I'd been through. I've helped one person and I'm currently helping another. I don't think of my old church as false prophets/teachers in any way, shape or form, I felt they were in error in.. well.. one issue, I didn't like that they sometimes had women preach, though it's policy not to have a female pastor within the denomination, but I felt called to another church as well as having this issue. I just want to know if prophecy is still relevant today.

This video reminded me about something I thought about earlier, why is it easier (or seemingly easy) to hear what God has for someone else, but when it comes to one's self, there is always this "struggle" to hear God? There have been many times, when the Lord has brought someone to mind to pray or to let them know God has a word for them (of course, I am very careful in how I communicate this so that I don't say anything more or less). I am always told, "I needed to hear that. Thank God you said this or confirmed this, etc." I'm like...."Lord? what about me?"
The church is, in many ways, where it is today because they have allowed the fact that there are false prophets to entirely reject the prophetic voice in the body of Christ. Having a ‘Pastor’ as the absolute leader of a local church is a bigger problem.
I want to lovingly disagree with Allen on this. Hebrews 1:1-2 says that Jesus is the final speaker of God. I believe anything that we need to know about God’s will is in His Word. He did speak through the prophets and in many different ways in the OT, but we have the sufficiency of Scripture. 2 Tim. 3:15-17. I understand it’s a difference in opinion but everything we could ever want to learn about God is already revealed to us in the Scriptures. Just my take.

Yes I understand ur point bro. I assume you think spiritual gifts and I mean only spiritual gifts sre ceased. Well I don't think that, it depends a lot of how you interpret scripture. Anyways I absolutely agree with you that the Bible has revealed everything about God we need to know. So no Prophet's gonna come and tell you something different not acording to scripture. But I think God can work through someone with a prophetic gift to tackle a certain point he wants to make. So it's not about the knowledge of God but a lot more about how can speak to you. And yes God speaks in many different ways and he will get to you even if you don't belive that the prophetic gift is still working today. I feel GOD Is talking to many prophets today!! maybe not 7 years ago, I never heard of a prophet talking or prophesying, BUT today, this day 31 Jul 23, there are couple handfuls and GOD is trying to prepare his children for all the wicked and ugly in our world today. It Also is plain in Amos 3:7 Indeed, the Sovereign Lord never does anything until he reveals his plans to his servants the prophets.!! Have you checked a few prophets of today? It sure would be terrible that God's children were not prepared because of this message, and by the comments I read, and the people I know personally, they are asleep to what is happening today and going to happen in us very near future. I admit, it took me lots of prayer to even let myself pay attention little over 2 yrs. ago, BUT GOD kept throwing them in my face so to speak, I kept resisting, finally I started seeing those coming together! I gave in, I have become so much wiser, and I am stronger in my faith, I feel more prepared, and ready!! I can't wait to see God's Glory this coming year!! He never said there weren't prophets but the majority are false and the true ones would be hated because they spoke the truth. So discern if it's a "feel good" message or a Biblical message. "Your debt will be cancelled" Wtf that's not biblical to say it's a "prophecy"
I am new to Christianity and there is a prophet that comes to my church every now and again. The first time I saw him was end of 2017 and he prophesied to my whole family (5 of us) and everything he said to me and my husband came true. He was here again this past weekend and called on me twice. The first time he told me something that I have been feeling in my spirit the past few months and I felt he confirmed it for me. I feel like he’s the real deal. I’ve also heard him tell others that they need to get right with God or stop hanging around the friends they have and make better decisions. Even though this is the first prophet I’ve heard (in a way) I came from a cult that I was born into and was denied the truth about the Bible for the first 36 years of my life. I think God knows I can’t handle being taken advantage of again. There have been several instances where I have needed to make choices and I asked Him to show me the way and the first options have been spot on. Thank you for making this video, brother! I read your comment and it concerned me. The first part that concerned me was how you mentioned that this person claiming to be a prophet visited your church. I'm concerned about what type of Christian church would support this. Then I noticed how you mentioned how some of what he said came true. A prophit is not a fortune teller, nor a person who tells the future. A prophet is one who has ability above the average person to understand how GOD works, and understand people. A prophet has discernment given by God through the holy spirit. And I will tell you something that only a prophit would know and understand. When prophecy is written or told regarding the future, what is said is from knowing what is possible. What is possible will happen when given enough time. Especially being that time is infinite. This is why a time is never given of when the prophecy will take place. I also want you to be aware of your history, being that you were in a cult. I don't know what kind of cult you were in, but many cults are based on the worship of a person or an idea. Many of their followers are influenced and manipulated by a leader or by an idea created by a leader. In essence, both are the leader. Either people looking for a person to lead, worship or control them find assurance in being in an a cult. Or people who were born into one or forced into one become dependent as a result of manipulation and abuse. Or you can call it brainwashing. I couldn't help but notice the possibility of you feeling the need for a person like that. Maybe even seen this in this "prophet" you spoke of. Christianity is sometimes confused with the worship of Jesus Christ. This is far from the truth. Jesus himself would say this. It is about honoring, loving, and living for God and how he intended us to live. I will have to add " given the circumstances", being that society is structured in absence of this concept. Jesus is the way to God. His words are the truth and the way. His love is God. And his sacrifice was a gift to save us from our sins. When you know the word, and receive the holy spirit, it all is understood. Scripture tells us to live to honor God not man(people). Don't look for a person to honor or worship. This is idolatry. Live to honor God, and only him. And do this through Jesus. Even I, with all the gifts. wisdom and love I have been endowed with. Only God is credited for what I do with those gifts. Even if I saved a person from a burning building, God gave me the ability to do it. Learn and understand how GOD works to know how to receive Grace (live in peace wile blessed). Blessed is unharmed by worldly things. When you receive Grace, you will be blessed not because nothing bad will ever happen. But because it will do no harm. You will even find blessings within the shortcomings. And you will trust in God. It is then you will find true peace. He who speaks of your future is not a prophet. For a true prophet will say " care for the now". When worried he will say " let tomorrow worry about tomorrow". And if he tells you what he knows about your future, or what he knows that about you or your family. These are parlor tricks. They are designed to come true. Or to connect an occurrence to a vague interpretation. No prophet claims to be so in a Church of God. For this is God's house, a house of love. Remember; even the most Godly man to walk this earth is a sinner. And the devil will come to you as an angel of light. He will come to you like a thief in the night. Some believe the devil or his workers won't step foot in a house of God. This is far from the truth. It is their favorite place. And they who are closest to God, are their favorite victims. I just want to say the bible did say he gave some Apostles, some prophets some evangelist,some teachers and preachers..for the perfection of the saints for the work of the ministry(His ministry..not mans)..we all know the word gave is past tense..he never said that he was still giving but He did say:And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream .notice he didn't say Apostle Prophets..etc but he said he will sons and daughters will still be able to prophesy..I think the biggest mistake the church made was following man tradtions who start giving people these titles ..you got people saying Apostles come before prophets because they were mentions first in that text but biblically prophets came first but I'm not going there..but this thing hit me a few days ago that's why I been looking to see what others had to say about this..God bless you bro..Keep doing what you do.

They still exist today. I personally have the gift of prophecy. I tried to ignore it but multiple people from my church pointed me to that spiritual gift and that the impressions I sometimes get are not my own. The issue is that there are a lot of wolves and false prophets. If someone comes to you saying they have a word from God, remember 1 John 4

But to be under the name of an ordained prophet, nobody meets that criteria today. and like the video mentions, prophets were before Jesus. And the bible tells us, back in those days, God HAD to communicate to us through prophets because Jesus wasn’t here yet. But now, Jesus already came, and we now only need him and and his written word and the Holy Spirit. There are no more prophets, nor are they needed today. To say there are still prophets basically means you’re saying that the written word, the bible, is unfinished. But this video explains majority of the reason why the gift of prophecy and being an actual prophet are two different things. additionally, prophecy by a prophet back in those days, were 100% accurate 100% of the time like the video says. But today, there are people who really are faithful people btw, who are claiming to be prophets, but not every time they prophecy, it’s 100% accurate 100% of the time. And being a prophet means that God is completely using you to speak. So, if what you’re saying cannot be 100% accurate 100% of the time, you’re basically saying, when God speaks, that HE isn’t accurate 100% of the time… and that’s… faulty. Well said. I am starting to see things differently by reading the new testament and asking the holy spirit why there was no profits in the new testament. And there were profits in the old testament. I search the bible and found that John the Baptist was the first and last profit in the new testament. I could be wrong. But this is what I read. As soon as John the Baptist baptized Jesus, he died shortly after that and Jesus came to spead the good news. That things were going to be different. Salvation, relationship, repentance, love, healing, intimacy, compassion. And I also see in the new testament, it outlines the future and what will take place. I could be wrong. But I am going to keep seeking the holy spirit and ask God to reveal this to me, through his word. Bless you brother.
I've had things prophecied to me by a prophet who came from abroad that day about things that came to pass. Things I was thinking in that moment. I said nothing to him, I started believing in God after that. And more things that have been prophecied have come to pass.

It wouldn't do you any good if a prophet fell in your lap. Isaiah 30 : 10 They say to the seers , see no more visions, and to the prophets, give us no more visions of what is right. Tell us pleasant things ,prophesy illusions. I've had an experience with God, and what they say you would not believe. Nor would you obey , because you believe the pleasant things, the illusions, the lies.
My old pastor said "if i prophesy over your life, you need to go an fulfill that prophsy. You cant just wait around for the prophesy to be fulfilled. Sounds more like instructions than prophesy to me😂

There's a lot of prophet of the Lord still existing today. They are lowkey but they are walking around as if they are normal beings. They didn't want to expose themselves but the true spirit of the Lord within us could testify.

Hi Sally, what teachès us is the written Word of. Scriptures in her teaches that the word is God breathed and profitable for teaching and correction. Needling a person to correct you will not mature you spiritually. It brings opportunity for false prophets to speak into your life. You have a sure word that teaches you when you read and study the Word of God. You will hear God when you open your ears to His written word.

Good video but I find it very unlikely for there to be modern day prophets. We have the word of God through the Bible. God speaks to people in many ways and guides us through the Holy Spirit. I doubt God verbally speaks to people anymore. I also believe dreams aren’t enough to say it’s God giving you a message. I have had nightmares of demons and dreams of angels lifting me into the clouds. Show discernment and read your Bible, pray, and repent. Pray for wisdom maybe even pray for stronger faith. Many prosperity preachers or whatever you call them suck the ignorant people away from God and lead these people towards deception. Some claim God spoke to them but if anything spoke to them it makes me question if it’s divination, demons or maybe even the devil himself trying to sway others from God. Also I’d encourage others to pray for false teachers and their followers. That they will find true faith and preach God’s word in context. That God will show the blind his glory and that people understand the sacrifice Christ made for us. Not because we deserve it but because we are sinners and God has so much mercy and love.
What does Acts 2:17-18 state.... Yes God still can use the Holy Spirit and does to communicate message to people....including visions....dreams...etc. God still performs miracles....he still heals the sick...etc... Sadly...the cast vast majority of so called prophets and gifts today in highly charismatic movements are false. Scripture and the Holy Spirit never....never contradict so if you find yourself in a church with a bunch of people jumping up and down banking away in gibberish get out....if you see a man proclaiming himself to be prophet and slapping people on the forehead...asking for money...proud...etc....get out. You may find someone come to you and say God has put you on there hearts and they have a message for you.....it will not be a marketing compagne about them...there will be numbness and you will be able you prove it through prayer and scripture.

Read Heb. 1:1-3. God spoke to the fathers by the prophets, now He speaks through His Son. Jesus is better than the fathers, prophets, and the angels. (or ANY created being!) Believer's have the Holy Spirit living within them. He will guide you into all truth. Sooo, what would be the purpose of a prophet, now???
Hey Sweet, so this is a difficult one because...the way the word prophesy is used in the NT it refers more to speaking the truth of God's word not so much FORETELLING. So, in a sense every preacher is a prophet because in its most basic sense, a prophet speaks for God. And preachers do this all the time. So, I think that is what I believe is the most popular use of the gift of prophecy today.

The gifts were given to confirm the word of God, that the prophet may be heard. Mark 16:17:20. Example Acts 3. The gifts were also given to stregnthen the Church. There was no complete bible to preach from, so the Holy ghost worked directly through mankind. 1 Corinthians 12:1-13. We also see with the exeptiin of the apostles, Acts 2, and the gentiles, for a specic reason, Acts 10-44-48, the holy spirit was passed by the laying of hands by the Apostles. Acts 8:12-18. Paul mentions these gifts in 1 Corinthians chpts 12-14. 1 Cor 13:8-12 tells us that these prophesies will fail when the perfect (complete) comes. I believe that greek word perfect, which means complete is refering to the complete revelation of God which is the bible. Then vs 9 and 10 would mean, we know in part, we prophesy in part, but when we have the complete revelation of God, then that which is done in part will be done away with. So, you will not find a true prophet today. If a prophet says part of the gospel, then he's isn't saying enough. If a prophet says more than the bible, then he is saying too much If a "prophet says just what the bible says, the prophesy is not needed. That's just preaching and teaching.
There is no failure on God’s (the Giver) part, but there is sometimes plenty of failure on our (the receivers) part. God can put a message out there (look at the biggest collection of prophecy in the world:the Bible), but MANY will fail to receive the message. Example: Nathan came to David with a parable through which he gave the message of rebuke from God for David. David’s response was self-righteous and he therefore completely missed the message. Nathan then had to be point-blank and plain with David, then he got it! How many times does God speak through a family member, a song, a billboard quote, a Bible passage, a preached message, etc and we miss it? Then a person of God has to come up to us one-on-one and speak what we missed a thousand times because of OUR failure to hear, perceive, and receive. I believe that is what Pastor Parr means.

I found this informative. I am a prophet. It does not work exactly as you indicated but close. At times i go to see someone and God speak directly via my mouth. And he does not tell me before hand. At other times the Lord will give me a vision and i declare it to my pastor. Prophets serve the church and the man of God over it. And we are hated in the world just like the old school prophets. And God does not do a thing with out speaking to the prophets first. Prophets are keep by the Lord, not worldly. And i would not wish this office upon anyone. Hard office. The cost is great. And i never give people a word about there future.

When you started talking about the money motivation, made me think of a message I heard years ago about the pagan prophet Balaam. Message was entitled "Prophet for profit." Always think about that when I see these hucksters who's god is green and made of cotton fiber.
Let me tell straight up! God still uses people to speak through... yes prophets are still active. I've experienced prophets a few times and blew me away. 1.) My sister woke up one, when we were in our teens. I was in gangs are she was a loyal church goer.. My sister told me that God had her warn me and tell me how he would deliver me from death 3 times!!! She named everyone in the dreams, places and how they would unfold. They all happened to the thee as she prophesied. I'll never EVER doubt God is real or question his power. God had used my sister a few times, to warn people of impending death... sadly, she has backslid and now sees Spirits and demons. Crazy how such a powerful gift and hearing God's voice ... one can walk away. 2.) This little old black lady use to come to our church office, she was good friends with the secretary. A few times I ran into here she would tell me things I told no one. She was spot on!!! One time it was on my heart to go to Eugene Oregon to help a church, I said " lord please let me know this is what you want." Came to church and sure nuff she comes walking in and tells me "God says GO to Eugene Oregon... you have a mission there!" She warned me off things I told no one and confirmed things I told no one. Let me tell you...YES, ITS A RARE GIFT!!! Prophets are still among us!

Ok let's get this right. There are no need for prophets today. Once the last verse of Revelation was written the holy scriptures were completed. All we can do now is propehsey (teach) or share what's been written. Even though I'm strictly a King James Bible person I'm going to share Hebrews (1) 1-2 in the English Standard Version. Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world. Very simple. God use to speak through prophets. Now it's through Jesus. ( The written and living word.) The fulfillment of the messianic prophecies commenced with the advent of the Messiah. Since he came, it has been the last days. James (5) 3, 1 John (2)18. In the past God gave revelation to his prophets. Now God speaks the message of redemption through his Son. Who can supersede Christ. Just study for yourself the Holy Spirit will lead and guide us to all truth. Most followers of Jesus need to understand that the Apostles and prophets laid the foundation of the church. Even the prophets learned from the apostles. Just because someone prophecies something that does not come to pass does not necessarily mean they are a false prophet. Jeremiah 23 teaches some can speak or see from their own heart. IF they have a track record for prophecies coming to pass but once in a while make a mistake, that does not mean they are a false prophet, they just spoke from their flesh. Prophets are people too. Another thing is prophets today do not necessarily have to always give good news or encouragement. THe Holy Spirit can say whatever He wants, however He wants as we see in 1 Cor 12:5-7. Nobody can tell the Spirit how to speak and when. Prophets most definitely exist today. I often find many powerful ones in very small, Spanish churches for some reason...Extremely gifted. I know some prophets that have predicted people's deaths even the exact date they would be taken by God and it came to pass.

We should always know that there are genuine apostles and prophets as well as false apostles and prophets. I always believe that today the five fold ministry is always manifesting.
I do not believe that there are modern day prophets whose words hold equal to the canonized Scriptures. However I do believe that God can use anyone at anytime today in order to profess/speak His word into someone's life or to give warning. I believe the gift is active not the office.

I have to argue that the office of the prophet has ceased because the cannon of scripture is closed. We have the eye witness testimonies of the apostles so we don’t need another revelation. But the gift of prophecy hasn’t ceased because we are to prophecy from the word of God.
Interesting. I received a prophecy from a woman a while ago at a church that I went to once. Ever since then I wasn't sure whether she was being sincere or not so I asked GOD. He's shown me in many different accounts after that moment for the months followed that the prophecy that I was given was true. It's really hard for me to accept though even after all the confirmation. So i guess I should pray for wisdom. In a sense this dilemma lead me to this video.
Most people forget that the scriptures say it is the Holy Spirit who gives each a gift. In other words their isn’t anyone who can “claim a gift” it is the Holy Spirit who will choose how He operates in a gifting. It would be a form of pride to say I have the gift of prophecy or any other etc… Reality of the matter God may use a particular gift one time in your life or multiple times as He wills. But truthfully if we are honest with ourselves do you really think God would operate those type of miracles and gift’s as seen with the apostles and prophets with how divided and out of order the body of Christ is. Most of these people we see today are filled with pride in this generation. Outside the church more likely where it’s humble and desperate people. Don’t hold your breath!
We do not have prophets like we did in the bible times but their work lives on in their writings. The church was built on the foundation of the prophets and the apostles. Once the foundation is laid that's it. Job done. Therefore there are no further need for prophets or apostles.
I'm not sure if prophets still exists, but if they do...I believe God will only use a "disciple of Christ" and NOT a "believer of Christ aka babe in Christ", because disciples are the mature Christians. OFF TOPIC QUESTION: Years ago two men wearing Turbans walked into my sister’s store. They told us for money, we can tell you about your life. One of the men asked me to write down a number & color. He guessed both the number and color correctly. Then ask Me to put $20 in his Bible if I want to know more. Were those guys true prophets from GOD? My sister wasn’t impressed but I’m still thinking about this almost 20 Years later.
As a prophet I must say, They do exist today. Be not deceived though because there are many false prophets e prophets today also. This is why I encourage people to study the Bible themselves.

As a person who has seen the decline over the past 50+ yrs in the accurate understanding of a true prophet, it is refreshing to hear a young person vet it right. I'm a Southern Baptist woman who has had dreams and a vision about the end times. I had no help from the SB because of cessation. Went to a charismatic church for advice and their ideas of prophecy don't match scripture. Someone claiming to have new revelation not in scripture, is not something I believe. I also can't plan a date to have a dream, a vision or a word and charge people to come to it. Scripture should do the heavy lifting of revelation. The Holy Spirit should help with specific application. My dreams and visions do not contradict scripture and I wasn't given a date. But a sense of urgency came over me to let what I've been shown set my priorities. One vision I had was seeing the church as people with their heads down busy sitting at desks. Too busy with what's in front of them to notice the time of day, much less to look at the clock to see it's almost time to go home. The sense of urgency first made me think it was coming now. But I think I'm supposed to live like it's coming now, even if soon to God is 50 more years. If God gives us more years of freedom in this country, it's so we can fill the lifeboats, not to make us prosperous. When the dreams came, a sin issue I struggled with for years was taken. And I don't care a thing about the comforts of this world.

I’ve been on the fence about the prophets/“prophets” I’ve seen and it’s because they’re always so full of positivity and generalizations. The last man I watched, stood in front of the congregation and announced that someone would be gaining a very large inheritance and would write a $250k check to the church. I’m definitely testing this to see if it happens.

First one needs to understand what a prophet does. They don't look into the future like these guys today. A prophet proclaims God's Word.

I do see the difference what was prophesied then to the majority of what is being prophesied these days but my previous church prophesied only it wasn't about prosperity or health and the teaching was pretty sound from what I remember. I was prophesied to once when I'd come back to church after backsliding through the pain of my past. I was broken and an elderly lady in the church prophesied to me saying that God is going to use me to help others with what I'd been through. I've helped one person and I'm currently helping another. I don't think of my old church as false prophets/teachers in any way, shape or form, I felt they were in error in.. well.. one issue, I didn't like that they sometimes had women preach, though it's policy not to have a female pastor within the denomination, but I felt called to another church as well as having this issue. I just want to know if prophecy is still relevant today.

This video reminded me about something I thought about earlier, why is it easier (or seemingly easy) to hear what God has for someone else, but when it comes to one's self, there is always this "struggle" to hear God?
There have been many times, when the Lord has brought someone to mind to pray or to let them know God has a word for them (of course, I am very careful in how I communicate this so that I don't say anything more or less). I am always told, "I needed to hear that. Thank God you said this or confirmed this, etc." I'm like...."Lord? what about me?"
Are you a prophecy?
The church is, in many ways, where it is today because they have allowed the fact that there are false prophets to entirely reject the prophetic voice in the body of Christ. Having a ‘Pastor’ as the absolute leader of a local church is a bigger problem.
I want to lovingly disagree with Allen on this. Hebrews 1:1-2 says that Jesus is the final speaker of God. I believe anything that we need to know about God’s will is in His Word. He did speak through the prophets and in many different ways in the OT, but we have the sufficiency of Scripture. 2 Tim. 3:15-17. I understand it’s a difference in opinion but everything we could ever want to learn about God is already revealed to us in the Scriptures. Just my take.
So you wouldn't consider Apostle Paul to be a prophet?
It's kind of true that everything is in the scriptures but religions hold flawed core beliefs based on misinterpretations which make whole religions corrupt and pointless.
What about Ephesians 4 : 11 and Joel chapfer 2?

Yes I understand ur point bro. I assume you think spiritual gifts and I mean only spiritual gifts sre ceased. Well I don't think that, it depends a lot of how you interpret scripture. Anyways I absolutely agree with you that the Bible has revealed everything about God we need to know. So no Prophet's gonna come and tell you something different not acording to scripture. But I think God can work through someone with a prophetic gift to tackle a certain point he wants to make. So it's not about the knowledge of God but a lot more about how can speak to you. And yes God speaks in many different ways and he will get to you even if you don't belive that the prophetic gift is still working today. I feel GOD Is talking to many prophets today!! maybe not 7 years ago, I never heard of a prophet talking or prophesying, BUT today, this day 31 Jul 23, there are couple handfuls and GOD is trying to prepare his children for all the wicked and ugly in our world today. It Also is plain in Amos 3:7 Indeed, the Sovereign Lord never does anything until he reveals his plans to his servants the prophets.!! Have you checked a few prophets of today? It sure would be terrible that God's children were not prepared because of this message, and by the comments I read, and the people I know personally, they are asleep to what is happening today and going to happen in us very near future. I admit, it took me lots of prayer to even let myself pay attention little over 2 yrs. ago, BUT GOD kept throwing them in my face so to speak, I kept resisting, finally I started seeing those coming together! I gave in, I have become so much wiser, and I am stronger in my faith, I feel more prepared, and ready!! I can't wait to see God's Glory this coming year!! Also, their prophecies are coming fulfilled!! More and more every day! I pray that everyone is ready for GOD GLORY!! Amen and AMEN!! BTW I have not heard not one I am familiar with ask for money, in fact my favorites say, " we do not ask for money, God supplies what we need, and another handful more I have never heard them speak of money, at all, Just Saying
He never said there weren't prophets but the majority are false and the true ones would be hated because they spoke the truth. So discern if it's a "feel good" message or a Biblical message. "Your debt will be cancelled" Wtf that's not biblical to say it's a "prophecy"
I am new to Christianity and there is a prophet that comes to my church every now and again. The first time I saw him was end of 2017 and he prophesied to my whole family (5 of us) and everything he said to me and my husband came true.
He was here again this past weekend and called on me twice. The first time he told me something that I have been feeling in my spirit the past few months and I felt he confirmed it for me.
I feel like he’s the real deal. I’ve also heard him tell others that they need to get right with God or stop hanging around the friends they have and make better decisions.
Even though this is the first prophet I’ve heard (in a way) I came from a cult that I was born into and was denied the truth about the Bible for the first 36 years of my life. I think God knows I can’t handle being taken advantage of again. There have been several instances where I have needed to make choices and I asked Him to show me the way and the first options have been spot on. Thank you for making this video, brother! I read your comment and it concerned me. The first part that concerned me was how you mentioned that this person claiming to be a prophet visited your church. I'm concerned about what type of Christian church would support this.
Then I noticed how you mentioned how some of what he said came true. A prophit is not a fortune teller, nor a person who tells the future. A prophet is one who has ability above the average person to understand how GOD works, and understand people. A prophet has discernment given by God through the holy spirit. And I will tell you something that only a prophit would know and understand. When prophecy is written or told regarding the future, what is said is from knowing what is possible. What is possible will happen when given enough time. Especially being that time is infinite. This is why a time is never given of when the prophecy will take place.
I also want you to be aware of your history, being that you were in a cult. I don't know what kind of cult you were in, but many cults are based on the worship of a person or an idea. Many of their followers are influenced and manipulated by a leader or by an idea created by a leader. In essence, both are the leader. Either people looking for a person to lead, worship or control them find assurance in being in an a cult. Or people who were born into one or forced into one become dependent as a result of manipulation and abuse. Or you can call it brainwashing.
I couldn't help but notice the possibility of you feeling the need for a person like that. Maybe even seen this in this "prophet" you spoke of.
Christianity is sometimes confused with the worship of Jesus Christ. This is far from the truth. Jesus himself would say this. It is about honoring, loving, and living for God and how he intended us to live. I will have to add " given the circumstances", being that society is structured in absence of this concept. Jesus is the way to God. His words are the truth and the way. His love is God. And his sacrifice was a gift to save us from our sins. When you know the word, and receive the holy spirit, it all is understood.
Scripture tells us to live to honor God not man(people). Don't look for a person to honor or worship. This is idolatry. Live to honor God, and only him. And do this through Jesus.
Even I, with all the gifts. wisdom and love I have been endowed with. Only God is credited for what I do with those gifts. Even if I saved a person from a burning building, God gave me the ability to do it.
Learn and understand how GOD works to know how to receive Grace (live in peace wile blessed). Blessed is unharmed by worldly things. When you receive Grace, you will be blessed not because nothing bad will ever happen. But because it will do no harm. You will even find blessings within the shortcomings. And you will trust in God. It is then you will find true peace.
He who speaks of your future is not a prophet. For a true prophet will say " care for the now". When worried he will say " let tomorrow worry about tomorrow". And if he tells you what he knows about your future, or what he knows that about you or your family. These are parlor tricks. They are designed to come true. Or to connect an occurrence to a vague interpretation. No prophet claims to be so in a Church of God. For this is God's house, a house of love.
Remember; even the most Godly man to walk this earth is a sinner. And the devil will come to you as an angel of light. He will come to you like a thief in the night. Some believe the devil or his workers won't step foot in a house of God. This is far from the truth. It is their favorite place. And they who are closest to God, are their favorite victims. Their only useful weapon on the faithful is confusion. And this the devil is the author. Knowledge is your defence. Be harmless as a dove, but wise as a serpent. God Bless

I just want to say the bible did say he gave some Apostles, some prophets some evangelist,some teachers and preachers..for the perfection of the saints for the work of the ministry(His ministry..not mans)..we all know the word gave is past tense..he never said that he was still giving but He did say:And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream

They still exist today. I personally have the gift of prophecy. I tried to ignore it but multiple people from my church pointed me to that spiritual gift and that the impressions I sometimes get are not my own. The issue is that there are a lot of wolves and false prophets. If someone comes to you saying they have a word from God, remember 1 John 4

But to be under the name of an ordained prophet, nobody meets that criteria today. and like the video mentions, prophets were before Jesus. And the bible tells us, back in those days, God HAD to communicate to us through prophets because Jesus wasn’t here yet. But now, Jesus already came, and we now only need him and and his written word and the Holy Spirit. There are no more prophets, nor are they needed today. To say there are still prophets basically means you’re saying that the written word, the bible, is unfinished. But this video explains majority of the reason why the gift of prophecy and being an actual prophet are two different things.
additionally, prophecy by a prophet back in those days, were 100% accurate 100% of the time like the video says. But today, there are people who really are faithful people btw, who are claiming to be prophets, but not every time they prophecy, it’s 100% accurate 100% of the time.
And being a prophet means that God is completely using you to speak. So, if what you’re saying cannot be 100% accurate 100% of the time, you’re basically saying, when God speaks, that HE isn’t accurate 100% of the time… and that’s… faulty. Cause God cannot and does not lie or mislead us or provide us with 50% accuracy.

Well said. I am starting to see things differently by reading the new testament and asking the holy spirit why there was no profits in the new testament. And there were profits in the old testament. I search the bible and found that John the Baptist was the first and last profit in the new testament. I could be wrong. But this is what I read. As soon as John the Baptist baptized Jesus, he died shortly after that and Jesus came to spead the good news. That things were going to be different. Salvation, relationship, repentance, love, healing, intimacy, compassion. And I also see in the new testament, it outlines the future and what will take place. I could be wrong. But I am going to keep seeking the holy spirit and ask God to reveal this to me, through his word. Bless you brother.

I've had things prophecied to me by a prophet who came from abroad that day about things that came to pass. Things I was thinking in that moment. I said nothing to him, I started believing in God after that. And more things that have been prophecied have come to pass.

It wouldn't do you any good if a prophet fell in your lap. Isaiah 30 : 10 They say to the seers , see no more visions, and to the prophets, give us no more visions of what is right. Tell us pleasant things ,prophesy illusions. I've had an experience with God, and what they say you would not believe. Nor would you obey , because you believe the pleasant things, the illusions, the lies.

There's a lot of prophet of the Lord still existing today. They are lowkey but they are walking around as if they are normal beings. They didn't want to expose themselves but the true spirit of the Lord within us could testify.

This says absolutely nothing about prophets for today.
YES! We do still exist serving God in these last days! NO! we aren't talking about, "I feel called." God has called us in an Old Testament Theophany with miracles following God's message.
God would usually send a message to me if there was something in my life which needed correction. I didn't like it but I learned to listen bc I realized God loved me so of course He is always concerned for my well being. Now I listen.😊
Hi Sally, what teachès us is the written Word of. Scriptures in her teaches that the word is God breathed and profitable for teaching and correction. Needling a person to correct you will not mature you spiritually. It brings opportunity for false prophets to speak into your life. You have a sure word that teaches you when you read and study the Word of God. You will hear God when you open your ears to His written word.

Good video but I find it very unlikely for there to be modern day prophets. We have the word of God through the Bible. God speaks to people in many ways and guides us through the Holy Spirit. I doubt God verbally speaks to people anymore. I also believe dreams aren’t enough to say it’s God giving you a message. I have had nightmares of demons and dreams of angels lifting me into the clouds. Show discernment and read your Bible, pray, and repent. Pray for wisdom maybe even pray for stronger faith. Many prosperity preachers or whatever you call them suck the ignorant people away from God and lead these people towards deception. Some claim God spoke to them but if anything spoke to them it makes me question if it’s divination, demons or maybe even the devil himself trying to sway others from God. Also I’d encourage others to pray for false teachers and their followers. That they will find true faith and preach God’s word in context. That God will show the blind his glory and that people understand the sacrifice Christ made for us. Not because we deserve it but because we are sinners and God has so much mercy and love.

What does Acts 2:17-18 state....
Yes God still can use the Holy Spirit and does to communicate message to people....including visions....dreams...etc. God still performs miracles....he still heals the sick...etc...
Sadly...the cast vast majority of so called prophets and gifts today in highly charismatic movements are false.
Scripture and the Holy Spirit never....never contradict so if you find yourself in a church with a bunch of people jumping up and down banking away in gibberish get out....if you see a man proclaiming himself to be prophet and slapping people on the forehead...asking for money...proud...etc....get out.
You may find someone come to you and say God has put you on there hearts and they have a message for you.....it will not be a marketing compagne about them...there will be numbness and you will be able you prove it through prayer and scripture.
You can't stop at verse 18. You must read Acts 2:19-20. This tells us when this will happen. After the Tribulation begins. The other thing Acts 2-17-18 says I will pour out my Spirit on ALL flesh. Not just some

Read Heb. 1:1-3. God spoke to the fathers by the prophets, now He speaks through His Son. Jesus is better than the fathers, prophets, and the angels. (or ANY created being!) Believer's have the Holy Spirit living within them. He will guide you into all truth. Sooo, what would be the purpose of a prophet, now???
Hey Sweet, so this is a difficult one because...the way the word prophesy is used in the NT it refers more to speaking the truth of God's word not so much FORETELLING. So, in a sense every preacher is a prophet because in its most basic sense, a prophet speaks for God. And preachers do this all the time. So, I think that is what I believe is the most popular use of the gift of prophecy today.

The gifts were given to confirm the word of God, that the prophet may be heard. Mark 16:17:20. Example Acts 3.
The gifts were also given to stregnthen the Church. There was no complete bible to preach from, so the Holy ghost worked directly through mankind.
1 Corinthians 12:1-13.
We also see with the exeptiin of the apostles, Acts 2, and the gentiles, for a specic reason, Acts 10-44-48, the holy spirit was passed by the laying of hands by the Apostles. Acts 8:12-18.
Paul mentions these gifts in
1 Corinthians chpts 12-14.
1 Cor 13:8-12 tells us that these prophesies will fail when the perfect (complete) comes. I believe that greek word perfect, which means complete is refering to the complete revelation of God which is the bible. Then vs 9 and 10 would mean, we know in part, we prophesy in part, but when we have the complete revelation of God, then that which is done in part will be done away with.
So, you will not find a true prophet today.
If a prophet says part of the gospel, then he's isn't saying enough.
If a prophet says more than the bible, then he is saying too much
If a "prophet says just what the bible says, the prophesy is not needed. That's just preaching and teaching.
As soon as he said God is “Trying” ? God never tries God always does. The End!
There is no failure on God’s (the Giver) part, but there is sometimes plenty of failure on our (the receivers) part. God can put a message out there (look at the biggest collection of prophecy in the world:the Bible), but MANY will fail to receive the message.
Example: Nathan came to David with a parable through which he gave the message of rebuke from God for David. David’s response was self-righteous and he therefore completely missed the message. Nathan then had to be point-blank and plain with David, then he got it! How many times does God speak through a family member, a song, a billboard quote, a Bible passage, a preached message, etc and we miss it? Then a person of God has to come up to us one-on-one and speak what we missed a thousand times because of OUR failure to hear, perceive, and receive. I believe that is what Pastor Parr means.

I found this informative. I am a prophet. It does not work exactly as you indicated but close. At times i go to see someone and God speak directly via my mouth. And he does not tell me before hand. At other times the Lord will give me a vision and i declare it to my pastor. Prophets serve the church and the man of God over it. And we are hated in the world just like the old school prophets. And God does not do a thing with out speaking to the prophets first. Prophets are keep by the Lord, not worldly. And i would not wish this office upon anyone. Hard office. The cost is great. And i never give people a word about there future.
Yes Alan True Prophets do exist today,but the Church( especially in the western world) is deeply enmeshed in 'the presumtive work of man' (Num 15:30) and is as a consequence, unwilling to listen to the prophets words about repentance and change, because the true prophet is not going to speak 'pleasant words' 1Kings 22 and thus he is reviled or ignored or both.
YHWH WILL open doors, and when HE does, people will DIE to self and learn to do it daily.
THEN you will see the building of HIS church ( Matt 16:18) and the experience of christians worshipping 'in spirit and in truth' and the 'Light of the world' bringing wonderful witness through us to a lost world. Phil 1 :6

Let me tell straight up! God still uses people to speak through... yes prophets are still active. I've experienced prophets a few times and blew me away.
1.) My sister woke up one, when we were in our teens. I was in gangs are she was a loyal church goer.. My sister told me that God had her warn me and tell me how he would deliver me from death 3 times!!! She named everyone in the dreams, places and how they would unfold. They all happened to the thee as she prophesied. I'll never EVER doubt God is real or question his power. God had used my sister a few times, to warn people of impending death... sadly, she has backslid and now sees Spirits and demons. Crazy how such a powerful gift and hearing God's voice ... one can walk away.
2.) This little old black lady use to come to our church office, she was good friends with the secretary. A few times I ran into here she would tell me things I told no one. She was spot on!!! One time it was on my heart to go to Eugene Oregon to help a church, I said " lord please let me know this is what you want." Came to church and sure nuff she comes walking in and tells me "God says GO to Eugene Oregon... you have a mission there!" She warned me off things I told no one and confirmed things I told no one.
Let me tell you...YES, ITS A RARE GIFT!!! Prophets are still among us!
I have met a few legit ones. I myself have prophesied on more than one occasion with witnesses, and it came true exactly as the Spirit said it would.
Being a prophet is not about telling the future, but knowing eternity.

Ok let's get this right. There are no need for prophets today. Once the last verse of Revelation was written the holy scriptures were completed. All we can do now is propehsey (teach) or share what's been written. Even though I'm strictly a King James Bible person I'm going to share Hebrews (1) 1-2 in the English Standard Version. Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world. Very simple. God use to speak through prophets. Now it's through Jesus. ( The written and living word.) The fulfillment of the messianic prophecies commenced with the advent of the Messiah. Since he came, it has been the last days. James (5) 3, 1 John (2)18. In the past God gave revelation to his prophets. Now God speaks the message of redemption through his Son. Who can supersede Christ. Just study for yourself the Holy Spirit will lead and guide us to all truth. Most followers of Jesus need to understand that the Apostles and prophets laid the foundation of the church. Even the prophets learned from the apostles. People want titles so bad in the body of Christ. Because the office of prophets and apostles are closed. They ceased with the completion of the New Testament. God bless. Just because someone prophecies something that does not come to pass does not necessarily mean they are a false prophet. Jeremiah 23 teaches some can speak or see from their own heart. IF they have a track record for prophecies coming to pass but once in a while make a mistake, that does not mean they are a false prophet, they just spoke from their flesh. Prophets are people too. Another thing is prophets today do not necessarily have to always give good news or encouragement. THe Holy Spirit can say whatever He wants, however He wants as we see in 1 Cor 12:5-7. Nobody can tell the Spirit how to speak and when. Prophets most definitely exist today. I often find many powerful ones in very small, Spanish churches for some reason...Extremely gifted. I know some prophets that have predicted people's deaths even the exact date they would be taken by God and it came to pass.
Cleveland Street Preachers and why don't those prophets help you Mr street preacher? Atheists would love to see evidence of God wouldn't they? Let me tell you something... No prophet can be from God if he rejects the Torah... Those prophets predicting things are probably just coincidence and nothing more...

I do not believe that there are modern day prophets whose words hold equal to the canonized Scriptures. However I do believe that God can use anyone at anytime today in order to profess/speak His word into someone's life or to give warning. I believe the gift is active not the office.
Some people are afraid to hear the LORD'S voice they prefer prophets.
Exodus 20:19 We are afraid to have God speak directly to us; we are certain that we will die. You speak to us instead; we promise to listen.

I have to argue that the office of the prophet has ceased because the cannon of scripture is closed. We have the eye witness testimonies of the apostles so we don’t need another revelation. But the gift of prophecy hasn’t ceased because we are to prophecy from the word of God.
Interesting. I received a prophecy from a woman a while ago at a church that I went to once. Ever since then I wasn't sure whether she was being sincere or not so I asked GOD. He's shown me in many different accounts after that moment for the months followed that the prophecy that I was given was true. It's really hard for me to accept though even after all the confirmation. So i guess I should pray for wisdom. In a sense this dilemma lead me to this video.
I don't believe there are any modern-day prophets. God has revealed everything we need to know about the future.
Most people forget that the scriptures say it is the Holy Spirit who gives each a gift. In other words their isn’t anyone who can “claim a gift” it is the Holy Spirit who will choose how He operates in a gifting. It would be a form of pride to say I have the gift of prophecy or any other etc…
Reality of the matter God may use a particular gift one time in your life or multiple times as He wills.
But truthfully if we are honest with ourselves do you really think God would operate those type of miracles and gift’s as seen with the apostles and prophets with how divided and out of order the body of Christ is. Most of these people we see today are filled with pride in this generation. Outside the church more likely where it’s humble and desperate people.

We do not have prophets like we did in the bible times but their work lives on in their writings. The church was built on the foundation of the prophets and the apostles. Once the foundation is laid that's it. Job done. Therefore there are no further need for prophets or apostles.
I'm not sure if prophets still exists, but if they do...I believe God will only use a "disciple of Christ" and NOT a "believer of Christ aka babe in Christ", because disciples are the mature Christians. Disciples are the ones that understand it takes love to be like "God aka Love"
So that type of power probably can only be trusted by someone that has a heart full of love...

Yes real prophets and prophetess still exists but real ones are rare and will not call themselves unless they address it as a gift and not their title. You must test the spirits and make sure it lines up with scripture
OFF TOPIC QUESTION: Years ago two men wearing Turbans walked into my sister’s store. They told us for money, we can tell you about your life. One of the men asked me to write down a number & color. He guessed both the number and color correctly. Then ask Me to put $20 in his Bible if I want to know more. Were those guys true prophets from GOD?
My sister wasn’t impressed but I’m still thinking about this almost 20 Years later.
As a prophet I must say, They do exist today. Be not deceived though because there are many false prophets e prophets today also. This is why I encourage people to study the Bible themselves.
