My wife told me God told her he had another man for her. She left, committed adulatory and her life is slowly falling apart. God will never tell you to go against his word.
as have i, that is why God gave us discernment, so that we may discern between what is form God and what is not. Im sorry you've been hurt, but don't shut out Gods love, he uses us as tools and i believe Pastor is wrong on this one. Love should have been the core of this lesion, as paul puts it : If I speak in the tongues[a] of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. Those who have claimed to speak for God, and have done so without love or truth have caused pain. BUT there are still people God uses, and its dangerous for a pastor to say "there is no 100% sure way to know we have heard from God because we are introducing the potential for Human error" is insulting to God, and the writers of the bible. I was about to go to a prayer meeting, and before hand i prayed alone "God what ever happened to me being a warrior?" (when i had come to faith this song called Hercules was my song to God, lyrics being "ive sent for a warrior from on my knees make me a Hercules) well within 10 minutes of starting the prayer meeting, a Stanger came over to me and said "Hey bro, i just wanted to tell you, you have the eyes of a warrior" This was without a doubt God speaking to me. Im so upset with Pastor on this one because God has made himself known to me clearly apart form the bible, and while the bible is without a doubt my favorite book and a treasure trove of spiritual knowledge, the bible is not GOD. i pray that you J get to experience God has he is naturally, without man dictating to you who He should be. because while i am still hurt by those who falsely claimed to speak for God, my cup is over flowing from the few true times God has revealed himself to me.
Hebrews 13:5 I will never leave you nor forsake you. John 10: 28 I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all[a]; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. The word faith doesn't have the same definition today as it did when the Bible was written. Faith meant trust. Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Now I'll write it as it is meant to be understood, Trust comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of God. A person goes from a second in time of believing that Jesus exchanged His perfect life for our wretched lives, to knowing that God is real and did what He said He did. It is at this exact fraction of time that the new person is put on, the new person is created. 2 Corinthians 5:17 & 1 Peter 3:8-9 Although our trust can be shaken to its very foundations, we can feel shattered to the core, we can think that everything that we thought that we knew to be true was only an illusion, we can find and I find comfort in the knowledge that there's absolutely nothing that we or anyone else can do to remove us from God's hand. We can and do grieve the Holy Spirit, we damage our relationship with the Father because was still live in a broken world, but take sweet comfort in the awareness that our salvation will be made complete when we see our savior face to face. I am relieved that one day these things that damage us either through well meaning, or willfulness, or done unintentionally will be no more. Revelation 21:4 ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’[a] or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” I have lifted you and your situation including the person who wronged you up to our Father in Heaven. Thank you for sharing your painful experience with us.
God doesn't just speak from a book. This video is so wrong. Jesus is Lord (Master). You need to listen to your Master. Jesus said "My Sheep hear My voice". I wish Parr would let someone answer when he says "how do you know?".
@@DarrenRoyhow do you know when it's God, bc the danger of saying "God told me" is that if God didn't tell you that, then you're lying on God's name, which is blasphemy.
@@Matthewc5610 I wouldn't say "God told me". More along the lines "I believe or sense God is saying...". We are all fallible. However, the Bible does tell us how to test thoughts are from God; 1. It would never contradict God's written Word (Ps. 119:89). 2. The Spirit should bear witness (Rom. 8:16, John 16:13, Is. 30: 21). 3. The peace of God stays with us as umpire in our hearts (Col. 3:5).
@@DarrenRoy I'm not sure if you actually meant ps 119:89 bc that in KJV says "forever O Lord, thy word is settled in heaven". Maybe you are thinking of a different scripture? Also Romans 8:16 it says "the Spirit itself beareth (bear in this sense means to support) witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God". This scripture seem to not to suggest anything about how to discern an inner voice. Also you say John 16:13 and it says "Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come." This is Jesus talking to disciples telling them what's to come, this doesn't really sound like it's him telling you how to discern an inner voice, but it is telling them that the spirit of truth is telling them what lies ahead for them. Last one I'll cover is is 30:21 it says "And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left." This is the old testament, this if I'm not mistaken (I could be wrong here) but the old testament is when God still actually talked to people, which is the scripture literally says "hear" not "think". My overall conclusion/understanding is that "God told me" is not scripturally supported. I think your route that you say you take is safer. Which is "I personally think or believe" bc this is a statement of your opinion, many people sound extremely prideful when they say "God told me" my question is how do you know 100% beyond a shadow of a doubt it's truly God? Bc it could be an angel, it could be other entities like the Satan bc demons and Satan can quote the scripture as well. Satan tried to tempt Jesus using scripture Matt 4:1-11, so I would like to warn all of my brothers and sisters in Christ to be careful w/ this statement.
@@Matthewc5610 Thanks for your courteous reply. I do believe the Holy Spirit is still active and leading saints now (Acts 2:39). For any relationship to grow there has to be communication. That's why I believe Jesus said it was better He went away (John 16:7 AMPC). Jesus literally died to give us the gift of eternal life and that gift is to truly know Him (John 17:2-3 & 21), rather than just know about Him. Many other scriptures, although not all, which refer to the 'knowledge of God' mean knowing Him. Here are other scriptures referring to our discussion - Jer. 24:7, Prov. 3:5-6, Phil 3:10, Rom. 12:2, John 10:27, 1 John 4:6 & 5:20, John 14:21, Matt. 4:4 & 7:23, James 4:8, 1 John 2:5-6 & 5:30. Thank you
This is a PHENOMENAL word. I had an ex who said, "God told me you need to quit your job. I'm 100% sure" and it truly made me question everything. She even said that I can't hear from God like she does because of things I did in my past. She eventually admitted that she was using that to push her own personal agenda on me. Such a dangerous manipulative tactic, and I applaud you for shedding light on it. Thank you, Allen.
That woman is evil. If she is not scared sh*tless for using God like that, she has nothing to do with God. Glad you're out of there! God says He will reward those people who hate Him TO THEIR FACE. Deuteronomy 7:10. To use God is to hate Him, to use His name knowing full well you're lying....you have zero love or respect for God. She should be trembling with fear.
Thank you so much!! Years ago a boyfriend told me that God told him that we were supposed to get married. I told him that if that was the case, God would tell me as well.
Exactly. I had a friend who told me that someone told her, that my friend was supposed to give her $5000. Lol my friend said told the person, “God talks to me just like He does you, and He hasn’t told ME to give you $5000” needless to say that’s my answer to “God told me to tell you”😂😂😂😂😂
@@NSOcarth All I can say to that is that my previous boyfriend was very mistaken. After him I began seeing another young man. After 3 years of dating my father suggested that I pray about whether he was the right man for me. I fasted and prayed for 3 days, praying that God’s will be done where he was concerned. He proposed before the month was out. That was 46 years ago
You taught me something tonight! Lord, please hold my tongue from saying “God told me”, UNLESS it is coming from your Holy Scriptures. Thank you for wisdom this evening ❤
Been a Christian since 1987. Since that time, God has spoken to me a handful of times. Every time, it immediately drew my attention to something about me that I needed to work on.
God does speak to us..and I have found it is to humble my fleshly soul...and then I can se the Lord's purpose in my life. Also a person is directed to the word..His word..and it confirmed my thoughts. HE SPEAKS through the word of God...thank you..
@@kazihiseguy-fernand4637 It was a strong internal voice like when you think your own thoughts through your conscience. It is loud and clear. It was correct and I had to pay attention or I would be not listening to His voice.
Im the same way, this video has reminded me of this verse. The eye cannot say to the hand, "I don't need you!" And the head cannot say to the feet, "I don't need you!" so that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other. If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it. We all have different parts to play, and God will speak to us and use us uniquely for his purpose. We are the body of Christ, not the arm of Christ, or mouth of Christ or ear of Christ, the full body. I am discouraged by this teaching.
@@joettagilyard7393 He does speak thru His Word. But also he does speak to us directly, although I'm certain many times I was mistaken His counsel & not listening, but interrupting, focusing otherwise & missed it. It is internally...inside the mind. My experiences weren't anything like Moses burning bush experience, it's inside of myself it happened. Hard to describe, for me it was always in a manner of surprising or rather unexpectedly came out of the blue, I hadn't anticipated it happening, nor was I looking for it knowingly or demanding an answer. First off it was not frequent, (years apart in occurence), that I understood this to be more than my own inner musings, that I realized afterwards it was of a supernatural nature from above. Not a demonic deal, though I have had some unusual encounters that way unfortunately, due to the fact I wasn't living right & some torment was allowed to chastise my willful disobedience. It came suddenly like a space opened inside my mind, it felt something like a door opened in an airtight space, there was a change in the pressure or atmosphere like a sweeping current or a rushing movement. I heard a voice that was not my own inner 'thought' voice, it had more of a powerfully presence to it or depth & was concise not lengthly, but simply & direct. Back when I first noticed this phenomena it started as admonishment, but then there were things said to comfort much later, as well. Not sure why it happened to me, but I believe because it did..that it happens to us all...the only exception being are we receptive...do accept or do we not & dismiss this & explain it away as if nothing. Our responses, as understood by God in our relationship to Himself are very important. If we're to busy to heed His voice perhaps He'll wait until we're more focused on Heavenly objects. So much depends on our willingness for Him.. He has already ascertained His willingness for us, so it's up to us to clear away the debris of this world & invite a type of communication verbally with Himself. He does it on His own time & inclination, we cannot force nor coerce impatiently demand... just patiently wait. I know reading The Word is an invitation from ourselves to converse with Him more closely & openly.
I grew up in charismatic circles hearing this phrase way too much. I'm now in my thirties and am re-evaluating what it actually means to hear the voice of God. I really appreciate your perspective.
Reevaluating or losing your faith. Read the scriptures and actually see what they are and how many of the stories started “ a vision from The Lord”, “a word from The Lord”… Paul’s letters are clearly heavenly wisdom downloaded from The Holy Spirit to edify the churches he was overseeing. They had no bible, the Bible came 400 years after the church.. The Holy Spirit will lead us into ALL truth, the scriptures help us to discern when it is God speaking to us because it trains us to understand His nature, it’s very simple. If you are a Martha and cannot sit still to receive like Mary you will have a hard time “hearing” from God.
@@Alicia_W413 your audacity to assume to understand, diagnose, and remedy someone's entire spiritual state just from one statement is sad. Be slow to speak fam.
"God told me " may sound annoying to those who don't hear anything or those who use this words to manipulate others to get what they want. But if anyone of us aks for wisdom from God, you will know that God speaks through his word and even to those who don't know the word he also speaks to them the only problem is that when he speaks to them they don't know it's God because majority don't have discernement. But the truth remains that God speaks and we cannot deny that.
we forget no matter how OLD we are .. like me known the lord for what 50 years now...yet I can still be a baby in Christ. Red flags for me well saying there is no 100%.. on and on yet.. no scripture to back that up. You say HUMAN ERROR..ok ok I know that one.. ok now it makes sense. So if that's true one would think GOD that can do anything has already made way around that. it is odd the sweet sweet holy Spirit talked in the NT and .. wow NO HUMAN ERROR at all. The hole bible.. no human error. Christ telling us his sheep hear know believe ...yeah it means all that and His sheep won't listen to follow a stranger. So me? Going with what GOD said in His word not some unknown guy that even talks about other denominations he knows do not agree with what he is about to say..yet just toss them out and we should listen to him..why? Don't I have the same holy Spirit? I don't know just thinking.. .. be nice for me to hear "don't take my word for it.. you seek you study you pray you find this out for your self". But he can't say that since what he said allot of it is not in the word of God.
Irene, Amen to that. God does speak in many different ways. He speaks through his word , we cannot put all mighty God in a box. I had been bothered by something that was happening to me. I work up 2 days ago with this song in my spirit. The song was saying that God will take care of me and that he never fails Nothing is too hard for Him to handle. That was God speaking to me.
I am a preacher’s wife and thankfully my husband preaches this message often but it is not something I’ve heard much of on social media. The word of GOD HAS to be the foundation for everything we say and do as Christians. Thank you!
Something I've heard is "God put this on my heart." It's like a work around of, "God told me. " it sounds the same to me. I've heard it alot now that I think about it.
@@sivemtshakazana The fact that people have to ask about being prompted by the Spirit of Yahusha is troubling. How many of us think we are good with our creator? when we are told that when we are he sends us his Spirit and he's our helper. He prompts our hearts and it's not something we should have to explain as we should all have him with us. I'd start with going back and reading the first 5 books of our bibles and understanding them. We keep his laws and do net deviate from his word no matter what some creed says and hold testimony to Yahusha (The one your Jesus replaces and changes) . Going to be a lot of people fooled by traditions and lies that just trust without questioning stuff. I'd check what a Natsarim is to start and work from there. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE HIS SPIRIT IN YOUR HEART AND YOU WILL KNOW IT YOU ARE NOT GOOD WITH OUR CREATOR!!! Play pretend all you like but it is something you will know happens as he changes you. 3rd commandment is to not let his name go to ruin as in forget it and use another and we use God and lord (bel/baal translated to hebrew) and other names when 1000s of times in the OT Yahuah is his name that is used not them titles. DO SOME RESEARCH and see what I say is truth. This is for the guy that posted too @AllenParr you need to research too and help lead people to truth.
God talks to me. I don't tell people until I'm ready bc most people don't understand that. Also when it's prophetic I don't tell anyone bc too many people don't have faith and they will try to discourage that it wasn't God when it indeed was. God talks all day everyday people just don't have ears to hear him. Probably listening to other garbage, music, entertaining other mess or just too busy not focused or reading the word, staying on social media and etc. Tune out the distractions. Go on a fast from social media and foods and you too can hear him.
@@shebrownsuga I believe what you say but also I have a question. How do you know it's him? Does he introduce himself? Demons are voices in our heads too and are liars and will deceive you.
I really enjoyed this one!!!! I used to think I was crazy when certain things came to me. My first lady said I was placed on her heart that week, because I second guess myself alot, she prayed then said God told me to tell you, you're not crazy, He speaks to you and it's not your mind. But when the spirit speaks to me our leads me it's all to God's glory and things I've been praying about. And then I know people who won't do anything because they said, God has to tell me to sell my house, etc. Well that person lost their home to the bank because they didn't use wisdom and know that that house was and became a idol in their life and it was time to let it go, ruined their life. Smh. We do take things too far.
We hear it through God’s Word the Bible, that’s how he answers us. I’m highly suspect when people say they’ve heard God’s actual voice. God spoke to people on rare occasions and it was always momentous and historic.
Why thank man? Thank God. Did you bother to seek to pray? Just because someone you might now or even love says something .. with no scripture to back it up.. to even talk about other Christian denominations.. to speak as if they all got it wrong but this guy.. on youtube that most never heard of says there is no 100%. What did Christ say? They hear.. that verb hear know believe,.. then tells you His sheep wont' follow listen to a stranger. Were talking about who? GOD....and some man on youtube tells you ..sorry your human so ..there will be some error when God talks to you. As if GOD doesn't know this and makes sure you can? Did we forget about the sweet sweet holy Spirit and how HE TALKS? Odd no when the holy Spirit spoke in the NT.. odd no HUMAN ERROR.. odd no that BIBLE all those words.. NO HUMAN error. Hmm would GOD ever use doubt? Ask HIM.. you believe in Him right? Ask Him not anyone else.. you ask Him and He will show YOU where its WRITTEN. He does this EVERYTIME.. just believe...or believe this man.. GOD will not say a word. You we freely make the choice
@user-fo8ob8pv8g what did the Holy Spirit tell me to do ? Should I speak a lie in order to avoid hurting somebody's feelings (confused look goes here) !?! I share what the Lord leads me to share. Be very careful.
@@derricktrahan3645 As long as it aligns with the Word of God and the Holy Spirit told you to share not your arrogant self righteous pious opinion. This PART. This is so on time. I was watching someone’s video yesterday and they continued to say those three words “God told me” and “God is saying” as if He was speaking to them AT THAT MOMENT. I was thinking “Wow. They need to be careful with this”. 😵💫 Thank you for the confirmation! God bless.
God spoke to me in my mind, it was 3 years ago when I was about to be done reading the bible, I either thought of it or said but I was like "I need to read more before going to sleep" and immediately before I had time to even think it this popped into my mind "it doesn't matter how much you read it matters how much you understand what you read" I was shocked cause I knew that wasn't from me it sounds simple but I never really thought of that before in my life.
One time I can recall God actually speaking to me was when I was intensely seeking Him and I was falling asleep to scripture on my phone after reading the Bible and right before I went unconscious I heard “Jesus is your healer. Jesus is your therapist” it was like a whisper that flowed into my body like water and the sound I can’t even describe it but when I snapped back awake I felt 0 pain I felt His presence all throughout my body and it felt like my spirit was made up of fire. But painless, loving, calm, peaceful yet my body felt like it was shaking, I cried tears of joy… I think that’s what it means to be slain by the Spirit of God.
@@AdamFontenet-iy3tb Adam I'm still very curious to hear you describe in detail how God's voice sounds. Surely you wouldn't forget such an amazing event. I don't see God saying Jesus ur therapist just don't sound like way hed talk if you said he said Jesus is your lord an Savior come to him an all things will come to light. But him just referring the holy Savior as a therapist I don't know I'm just convicted to think that's not how he'd refer to his holy son
EXACTLY!!! Love this video! This is so true. My mom says this in every conversation we have and it’s so frustrating because it shuts me down so I can’t disagree or challenge it. I want to send her this video!
@M Chevalier-Seawell I agree. None of know God in his fullness. I didn't say anything untrue. I did not say God doesn't also speak to our hearts too. He does through his Holy Spirit...we are to test what we think we hear from God by his word.
20 or so years ago group of "prophets" visited my church to speak over the congregation. I was so disappointed that I wasn't chosen for a word (I was young). As I turned on my car to leave a song started on the first note. I think it was "Heart of Worship." I broke down in tears with the reality that it is all about Him. That song WAS my "word from God." I hope this makes sense. "God told me" is so manipulative. Great video
Amen! I love this. I actually recently have been experiencing the same thing. But everytime I express this to God, He always comes back and reminds me that He is with Me, everytime. A prophet's word over your life or lack of it, does not validate the presence of God in your life, nor does it confirm His love for you. It's in the day to day pouring your heart to him and recieving His perfect love through prayer, worship, time spent in the Word, fasting and other disciplines (especially in community) that determines weather you carry His presence.
Thank you, Allen. When people say, "God told me," I used to think, wow, how come God never tells me stuff. Now God has laid things on my heart, but that's usually me giving and / or helping someone out. Once again, thank you.
Pray for the truth to be revealed. Pray God lifts the scales from the lukewarm and lost eyes, opens their ears and soften their hearts. I truly glad I got this message because I have a friend that is always bragging about God speaking to her and giving messages for other people and she made me feel bad about myself. I am faithful to God and I know he gives me common sense.Thank for the message
Perhaps she has a prophetic gifting and you have a different gift. This is the body of Christ, ask God to reveal your calling to you. God is the same yesterday, today and forever and if He spoke back then, He is speaking today. The scriptures are a compilation of Him speaking to the saints of old. What it seems is that you were starting to get envious, check your heart condition. Martha vs Mary receiving vs doing. I’m a Martha and I’ve had a hard time hearing from God in this season but when I was resting in Him I received much more revelation. Remember the Holy Spirit lives in each of us, if you want to believe He is in you and silent.. that’s on you.
@tenderhamsters I agree her friend may have a gift of prophesying cause I come from a church of the prophetic I don't like how he made it seem as if GOD doesn't speak at all yes read your word and at times GOD may send someone to give he or she a word the gift of diserment will kick in the word says my sheep know my voice and a stranger won't follow
He really speaks you can feel his presence it's nothing like I never felt before. GOD does speak but in different ways that's where your senses kick in.
@@lufhopespeacefully2037 Maybe it's because Trinity is a word that we use to refer to the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. And the Bible makes it clear that they are three separate beings functioning as one. Scripture: Genesis 1:26-28, Matthew 3:16-17, John 14:15-18, John 14:25-28, John 15:18-27, John 16:5-16, Matthew 12:31-32, Matthew 28:19, Luke 4:1, Luke 11:9-13, 1 John 5:7.
Spot on! I grew up in a church where this kind of phrase wasn’t often used, and I was so confused when I moved and started hearing it thrown around so casually at my new church. It just sounded like the ultimate in wishful thinking, and that people were confusing their own desires with the voice of God. Everything must be filtered through the Bible. Congratulations on your new book, I’m looking forward to reading it!
These are all fair points. For me it really hurts when some people say that God doesn't speak to us anymore and that anyone who claims to have heard from God outside of The Bible is lying. I won't say that we can't be wrong but even The Bible says that The Holy Spirit guides us. Just takes some discernment is all. But a really good way to know for sure is to read The Bible and ask Him to reveal something and have Him point something out.
I respect the fact that you're being honest and risk losing your followers, because I've seen many videos of the same claims. Whenever I feel like God is trying to say something to me, words of scripture would pop up in my head in different situations. That is how he speaks to us, through scripture.
It is fair to say that is how he speaks to you. But you cannot honestly say how he speaks to someone else. Do you remember that Philip had 4 daughters who were prophets. Do you believe there are no more prophets because you are not one? Mr Parr is about 95% correct, but he has left out that God actually speaks to people…but NOT ON COMMAND. So much for for prophets coming to churches with the fortune telling acts. Jeremiah had to wait 10 days for an answer for the remnant. But GOD STILL SPEAKS.
Thank you for touching on this topic because there are many you tubers constantly posting saying God told them and that can be very dangerous, especially if they are hearing from a familiar spirit .
I use the phrase "I think, God impressed in my heart..." and "God reminded me from the Bible about...." -- that's why memorization of scriptures with proper context is essential to us believers.
God’s sheep know His voice & will not harken to the voice of another. Spend time in God’s presence and in His Word to learn His voice for yourself. Believe not every spirit & take every word back to God & His Word. Then, you won’t be deceived; you will recognize when God is speaking, whether it be directly to you or through another person. Jesus left us the gift of the Holy Spirit so we wouldn’t have to rely on our human flesh to navigate life. Also, don’t compare your walk and relationship with God to someone else’s 🙏🏾💛
I am going with God over you on this Allen. Amos 3:7 says God will do nothing on Earth without first telling his Prophets first. Acts 2:17 tells us when we are in EndTimes we will have dreams and visions. In 1Corinthians 12 we see "prophecy" is indeed one of the nine gifts of the Holy Spirit as is also the gifts of Wisdom and Discernment. I am going with God on this.
Did you read Deuteronomy 18:18? Why did God tell the prophet I will put my words in your mouth? Why he ain’t say take this bible with you and read that?
I tried this and asked God to show me who I should marry. I then read the Bible. I then read the Bible out loud. God told me to wait until a beautiful damsel waters my camel. God speaks in a multitude of ways to his sons and daughters. Still small voice, circumstances, Bible, other Godly authors ((Oswald Chambers for instance). Any way he knows the particular child he is speaking to will understand. By trial and error you can learn to distinguish between his voice and yours or others. As many as are led by God are sons of God. If you have never heard him speak you may not know him as well as you think. Jesus himself tells you point blank - you search the Scriptures to know about me. You do not search to know me. May be a scarey time when you approach that judgment seat and He says depart from me I never knew you. But but we read the Bible out loud. Deep calls to deep.
Allan, I’m 100% with you on this topic. God speak to us through His Word, the more you study His Word, the more likely you will be able to discern the truth. Like Justin Peters said; ‘ if you want to hear God’s voice , read your Bible out loudly’. The fact is, we are sinful people and our thoughts are not always pure and righteous, it is a dangerous game you’re playing if you allocate your thoughts to “ God told me so” Always go back to His Word.
"there is no 100% way to be sure God is speaking to you apart form the bible" is a false and dangerous statement. this ignores the children of God in china who currently don't have a bible. please use discernment, that is what this message should have been about.

@ln3982 No Christian Bible canon as compiled and canonized claim itself to be God's word, the NT doesn't contain any singular non-contradictory narrative and Christianity is a complete perversion and inversion of the Hebrew Bible. So no. Nothing you say lines up with God's actual word.
This really needed to be said. Many times people tune out the conviction of the Holy Spirit and only want to hear that God confirms their choices and direction. Thank you for this.
So true. I used to be guilty of this. And to a certain extent, still am but I am able to catch myself more nowadays. So now I just pray and ask that not my will, but His be done.
agreed, so if it is not possible to discern Gods voice without the bible, is it possible then, for someone without the bible to know God? while there is some truth to what Pastor is saying, the biblical logic ultimately fails to track with it.
@@christianayers622 You are correct that it is impossible for someone to know bible god without the bible. And it is impossible for anyone to get a bible without man. Man has to write the bible and man has to introduce the bible to you. So there is no way to bible god without a bible and there is no way to a bible without man. To make it simple, there is no way to bible god without man. Either you believe the man that speak for bible god on the street or you believe the men who wrote for bible god in the book.. Either way you must put your faith in man first in order to get to bible god.
I literally had this conversation with someone yesterday asking how you know when God is speaking to you. I have heard people say this all the time and definitely felt like something is wrong with me and I need to pray harder or work harder to build a closer relationship so that God could speak to me as well. I believe God led me to watch this video and get this message.
@Kimberly Marshall, God probably did lead you to this video. I have been saved for 20 years and I have never heard his audible voice (John 5:37, "And the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his shape."), but He has shown me many things which I knew not (Jeremiah 33:3, "Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.”), through His Word and through intense prayer and yearning (actually more like obsession) to know what the TRUTH is). You must search the Word of God carefully (Acts 17:11, "These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so" ) and be sure what you are thinking/doing is according to God's words, you must pray and pray (1 Thessalonians 1:17-18, "Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.") and be sincere in wanting to know the correct thing according to God (lean on Him for guidance). He may take a little while to answer, but He always answers!
@@NSOcarth Thank you 😊 I agree! And if God did speak audibly to you and gave a vision, how does one know for sure that the vision and voice is God's? Again, you will have to go to the source and make sure everything is lined up with God's Words. The devil loves to mimic God and lead astray. This is why God says one jot and one tittle (not the smallest minutest thing, not even a whitespace, is to be added or removed from God's word! God's Word is the KJV 1611 (read Gail Riplinger's New Age Versions book for overwhelming evidence). This is why God puts such extremely high importance on KNOWING His word and holding tight to the truth - not turning to the left or the right. Even devils can come to you in audible voices or real visions and still you will not be deceived. God holds thine hand and guides you (Isaiah 41:13, “For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.”). God I love Jesus!!!
God has spoken to me. He told me to move. I heard the Lord. Audibly. One word. In a time of desperation and confusion as I poured my heart out to God and was seeking Him. I asked “What do i do. Where do I go?” And he told me where to go with one word. And I have felt Him speak to me through the Holy Spirit times before that. And yes I can be certain it was God. And the only time I have said “God Told Me” is when people would ask why I made a drastic, difficult move, to a different (undesirable I might add) state. It always pointed back to God and how He worked everything out in a miraculous, only God could do it, type of way. If people asked why I moved to where I had and I tried to leave God out of it I was convicted because all glory was God’s. That was 4+ years ago when I heard God speak to me like that so I’m not just going around hearing this and that. God is not limited and I know there is nothing special or holy about me for God to have spoken to me. It pointed back to His power and goodness alone.
Fantastic message. I think for people to use this phase "God told me" is very self-righteous. I quickly get away from any person or church that overly uses this phase because it tells me that they are phony.
I agree with you my good brother. So many of us do this smh. I see a lot of youtube videos with the title "GOD Told Me" or relating the video to others, saying that GOD told them to tell people this. Smh
This video is needed! If I believe God has spoken to me about someone, I say “This has come to me, does this make sense to you?” If it is confirmed then I say “Then I believe God is saying to you…” I ONLY say “GOD TOLD ME” AFTER THE FACT, not before.
We got people on RUclips saying "God told me this! God told me that!" And because of people following these delusions instead of testing the spirits to see if they are from god or not, they get separated from things and people whom they love. Even the fun things! This begins to urk me in many ways and i hate it. It's just so much hate getting in the way of humanity.
I was always hesitant to say "God Told Me," etc, even when I had an experience with Him. I would say "something told me." I felt bad because I didn't want to downplay what God did for me, but I just don't like to appear authoritative. I'm relieved that it's okay to revere God and not be so certain. I'll continue to be cautious with how I express when I do think it is the Holy Spirit/God. Thanks, Allen. I recently struggled with this and feel much better now. I also realize that the more you study the word, the more God's wisdom comes to your mind, and you'll do what honors God even if you don't hear God speak to you directly.
Those who heard God in the old testament often started their sentences with "thus said the Lord" , prophet Agabus when telling Paul about his future persecution said "thus said the Lord concerning the man who owns this girdle ..." An attitude of doubt and fear is unscriptural in spite of the fact that hearing from God is highly abused and manipulated today
Thank you for this lesson, I have definitely heard from many people who have said "GOD told me." That's why now I am able to discern what is really GOD sent or from another source. There are times when it has been authentically given from GOD for sure and this is why this lesson is important. Thank you my brother Allen Parr.
I was dealing with sexual sin and God did speak to me about it. I cried out to Him and asked him to help me turn away from it and he spoke to me and said: “walk away and I will help you..” He did tell me this. And I KNOW FOR CERTAIN, he told me this. And it aligns with His word. He says to repent and turn away from sin. And honestly I don’t mind speaking about it because it could help someone else. If they are dealing with any sin, doesn’t have to be sexual sin, walk away from it and he WILL help you! He helps those who diligently seek him! He loves us! And if this could help someone, I will talk about it because this wasn’t just for me personally. It’s for everyone to know that God will help you when you turn from your sin and run to Him instead.
Well in your case it could be the same as remembrance of scripture because even that sentence is not exactly the same as the bible verse but we surely can agree that's similar to the promises God makes in the bible
Yes! The HOLY SPIRIT does impress things in our hearts.. that’s our personal walk with him as we align ourselves with the WORD.. Yes .. GOD does speak to us!
@@r.o.n333 he spoke to me in my mind. I don’t know how to explain it. I was crying hysterically and asking Him for help and he said word for word: “walk away and I will help you..” it may not be exactly how it’s said in scripture. Like I said it aligns with his scripture. I never said it was exactly like that in scripture. But he talks about turning away from sin and repenting. Repentance is turning from sin, (walking away from it), and asking for His forgiveness and never returning to that same sin. It can help someone else what He told me. Because all have sin but when we walk away he promises he will help. And I know for certain it was Him because if it was the enemy it wouldn’t align with His word and it wouldn’t be walk away it would be: “it’s ok, you can keep doing what you want.” Or something else… if it was me telling myself that, It wouldn’t be the same either. I would end up falling into it anyways because OUR hearts deceive us.
BROTHA!!!!!!!!! THIS IS A MUCH NEEDED CONVERSATION. I know of someone dear to me that uses the phrase quite frequently. MY RESPONSE? #1. IF GOD TOLD you, then WHY are you telling me? 2nd...(and you already said this," HOW can I debate this?" I'm left with NO wiggle room to disagree 3rd........if we ALL are honest, WHEN GOD TRULY speaks are we SURE we're listening to what he's saying? Things ,REPENT,FORGIVE,FORSAKE,BE QUIET, SPEAK UP,DON'T SAY THAT ,DON'T DO THAT, STOP IT OBEY ME,AND I'M SURE there are others, but we must recognize that GOD IS INTELLIGENT AND DOESN'T NEED OUR HELP. DEFINITELY A GOOD ONE
I NEEDED THIS! First two pastors that come to mind when they always say “God Told Me” is Mike Todd and Robert Morris. That (and other reasons) is why I avoid listening to both. It clearly says in Revelation to not add or take away from the Bible. If we add then it is extra biblical revelation and those people won’t inherit the kingdom of Heaven. Now I know what to say when I am talking to someone else when I think God showed me something. THANK YOU!
Such a good message! I have had times when I thought God was trying to tell me something only later to realize it came from the enemy. Glad I didn’t spread it around to other Christians as truth🙌🏻
I'm so happy you've spoken on this. It has made me wonder what I am missing, because I've never understood how people are so sure that the Most High has spoken to them - always asked myself, "How can I be sure it was Him?" A lot of these types of folks on RUclips. I pray that the false ones are taken out of my algorithm.
Thank you for this reminder. I know this and sometimes still catch myself doing it. Probably bc of hearing other christians saying it all the time, I pick it up. Besides I love it when I'm reading His word and it speaks directly to me about a situation I'm in or dealing with and I'm looking it up in commentaries to make sure I'm interpreting it correctly. Like you said, that's when I know for sure, God is speaking to me. It's exciting but can also be eye opening in a way I didn't expect or not necessarily like but still exciting to have an answer and change course accordingly to His word. Just today I was reading 1 Peter 3 while struggling with my husband for the past year. He's a non-believer (I'm a recent born again Christian) Boy has it been a struggle. I've been trying all kinds of techniques to get him to even look into it and the fights are getting worse at the mere mention of God or Jesus. Read 1 Peter 3 and nearly fell over. Been praying to God to give me the answer and he did. Basically told me to shut up and start acting like a godly wife. 😂 Geez! Definitely not what I wanted to hear but I get it. And it's going to be hard but I see where He's coming from. If my husband is supposed to come to Christ, I best get out of God's way and only lead by example. Trust in God not my own abilities (which hasn't worked anyway. My abilities just make things worse) 🤦🏻♀️
Thank you Alan for making this video. Sadly, many people today are so careless with God's name, some for their own elevation as you mentioned. I'm also sure that there are many people who aren't trying to be arrogant or manipulative but simply don't know how to articulate when God Spirit's is confirming something in their heart that aligns with His word. You did this justice!
So good, biblically based teaching. People in the Church love to elevate themselves by using the phrase “God told me” it’s becoming very commonplace today, I don’t remember that phrase being thrown around 20 years ago.
This is so true and thank you for speaking on this topic. We truly have to be careful and discern things that we here. This was much needed especially in today’s society where those three words are being spread around nonstop. 🙏🏾
Right on time!!! I found myself searching that exact phrase on RUclips last night, and I thought,"I need to do a Bible study on this, because these so called prophets have gotten out of control, and people keep letting their itching ears drive them to this unbiblical content. Great job, Allen!
THANK YOU!!!!!! I was literally just talking about this exact thing with one of my pastors and some friends last night trying to explain to them the danger that those words and this idea brings. This is a major problem in the church and in the lives of many of my friends. I am 23 and most of my friends are trying to figure out what to do with their lives and looking for some kind of mystical, magical "word from God" that will tell them "the will of God for their lives" about whether they should work at McDonalds or Burger King, or whether they should live in New York or Texas. I am 100% sharing this video!
God actually dealt with me on this years ago. I do hear him, BUT … he pointed out to me that I was using this “God told me ….” to basically assign his authority (and falsely so) to whatever I was saying. It was a VERY stern rebuke as I recall, and I have never done that since. I cringe when I hear other people do it, so I share with them how God dealt with me on this, and usually it isn’t taken very well - I can see the conviction on their faces when I share it. It was based in my desire to be taken seriously and to exalt my relationship with him to a place where it was NOT. In short, it was a self-aggrandizing, manipulative tactic to keep others from correcting me in some areas. If we hear from the Lord on something (especially when its for someone else), we can share it without stapling God’s name on it. If it’s from him, people will know it and we are not stepping in to try and take the credit for something that HE gives to them. Good message and thank you.
Just started watching but had to pause to comment based on those 3 letter words "God told Me". I have always felt it in my spirit it was an offence and Blasphemous. It always rubbed me in the wrong way. So pleased and happy to hear you address it. God does answer prayers and we can receive our own personal revelation, but we must be careful when it comes to his Gospel and remember that there are counterfeit spirits. We must avoid bearing FALSE WITNESS. Especially against the Holy Spirit as it is the most Unforgiveable Sin. When it comes to things of his one and only true, Church, only the Prophetic and Apostolic Direct Line of Authority have been given to his chosen servants to represent him on earth. They are guided through the Holy Spirit. God warned us about False Prophets and that by there Fruits We Shall Know Them. We must stay prayerful so we can understand truths and recognize when its from God or the Adversary. You spoke nothing but the truth and it resonated with my Spirit. Thank You!
Something my mom said hurt me very deeply. She wanted me to take over a ministry that she'd started, and she told me God had called me to it. I didn't hear the calling myself, and for a time was conflicted, because if I did take over that ministry then I'd be sacrificing time I'd promised to spend with my son and raise him to be close to the heart of God. After some prayer, I decided that I won't be taking over that ministry because motherhood ought to be my first priority, and that made her really mad. She said she'd heard from God that I'd be cursed from that moment on because I'd 'chickened out' of God's will. Anything something bad happened to me after (this is 10 years later), she'd refer back to that moment and said I'm still cursed. I said this doesn't sound at all like the heart of God, and told her to confirm what she 'heard' from God. She refused, and said she's dead certain that's what she was told by him. Even while she was repeating that phrase when I nearly got cheated out of my life savings, and later we discovered that my husband got cancer. It's become a real stumbling block to me, and I've had to have people from my people pray over me because in the darker parts of my life, I still hear her saying that God has cursed me over that one ministry I didn't take up, and I know that if God was truly that vindictive, I could not ever follow him. Deep in my heart, I know it's all lies. Our God is a good God, and I still stand by my decision to be a better mom. She's just no idea just a simple thing she utters carelessly like that can cause me so much grief.
Dear sister,I agree with you. He lets it rain on both the field of the good and the bad man. Luke 13:1-5(the verses encompass alot but I wanted to focus on how the bad things that happen to us, without our direct involvement ,aren't because of something we have done in our past. We may not be of this world, but as long as we live in it, bad things can happen to us. That is proof enough that none of it is a consequence of your choice. Raising your child in Christ is just as big a calling. May the LORD continue to bless you and take care of your family as He has always done.
@@armyantlocsta Bible study ministry inside an office, which meant I would have to be working full time in there in order to serve. I can't do it remotely.
We are equipped. His word and His spirit are not hard to discern. Thank you, Allen. I expect your subscribers to grow, not shrink, because of the solid teaching you do.
No the Lord also speaks to us through his spirit, the Holy Spirit. When Jesus told the disciples that the comforter was coming to help them bc he would no longer be there, what's the purpose of the comforter (the Holy Spirit)? Are we just supposed to read about it. When the spirit told the apostles, don't go one way in Acts 16, who were the apostle following? Who were they listening too? How are they listening to the spirit if Jesus is no longer there? When Paul got directions from the spirit in Acts, there was no Bible for Paul to look at and say, if it's not in the bible I'm not going to listen or if Jesus didn't teach it I won't listen. No, they were following the spirit of God, the voice of God.. Yes it is important to read the Bible and follow the Bible like it says, but it is also important to have the spirit of God, so you will know where the spirit will lead you. If it's bad or causes harm to others, of course that's not the Holy Spirit telling you to do it. God is a loving God who will not tell you to sin.
"My sheep know My voice and the voice of a stranger they will not follow." Some Christians are so full of unbelief! God's word says we can and should know His voice. If we are sure that it is God, we should say so!

Oh, Alan. You have NO idea how much hurt these three words caused me. I nearly lost my faith. 14 years later, I am still trying to heal.
I’m sorry that happened to you. Thank God He holds onto us, even when our faith is weak.
Healing is such a process 😔❤️🫡
as have i, that is why God gave us discernment, so that we may discern between what is form God and what is not.
I was about to go to a prayer meeting, and before hand i prayed alone "God what ever happened to me being a warrior?" (when i had come to faith this song called Hercules was my song to God, lyrics being "ive sent for a warrior from on my knees make me a Hercules)
well within 10 minutes of starting the prayer meeting, a Stanger came over to me and said "Hey bro, i just wanted to tell you, you have the eyes of a warrior" This was without a doubt God speaking to me.
2 Corinthians 5:17 & 1 Peter 3:8-9
Although our trust can be shaken to its very foundations, we can feel shattered to the core, we can think that everything that we thought that we knew to be true was only an illusion, we can find and I find comfort in the knowledge that there's absolutely nothing that we or anyone else can do to remove us from God's hand. There will be no more death’[a] or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
I have lifted you and your situation including the person who wronged you up to our Father in Heaven.
Thank you for sharing your painful experience with us.
@@nschlaak Thank you for writing this, it spoke to me as well.
Finally. I thought I was the only person that felt this way. This message is NEEDED!

And the head cannot say to the feet, "I don't need you!" so that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other.
@@Alicia_W413 check your pride, sister.
Make sure whatever you hear matches with scripture.
God has a voiceless voice. That voice is always with us, it is the Truth, the Holy Spirit that reveals what is true and a lie.

💯 true!!!
Anytime I hear "God told me" my red flag goes up!!!!

Somebody is hearing voices. Doctor time.
I am a preacher’s wife and thankfully my husband preaches this message often but it is not something I’ve heard much of on social media. The word of GOD HAS to be the foundation for everything we say and do as Christians. Thank you!
Yep!! 👏👏👏
Very true
I like this. I do wonder how can we be sure it's from God?
I do believe God gives us warnings if we are about to get in trouble. I have thought back on mistakes I've made and realized I had a chance to escape.
Yeah, unfortunately, there is a lot of "God told me" nonsense on social media that can give Christianity a negative perception.
Something I've heard is "God put this on my heart." It's like a work around of, "God told me. " it sounds the same to me. I've heard it alot now that I think about it.
I do not share what God reveals or speaks to me unless clearly prompted by the Holy Spirit, and honestly that’s rare. Blessings to all. Maranatha
This days I'm hearing people saying My God Said my God it seems like we have different God pls adress this one
Could you please clarify how the Holy Spirit clearly prompts you.
I got trapped by this word. Someone came into my life saying this. I was hurt heartbroken, But in the end it lead me to be saved.
I've honestly questioned my salvation because I don't “hear the Spirit's voice” the way other believers do. Thank you for this video, Alan.

I've had a similar experience on a different topic, but I know exactly what you mean.
3 minutes in …this guy is speaking a much needed message.

Amen
The bible should be your Word for you to know what/who God is & saying. 🙏♥️

I was almost caught in that web of "God told me" at my previous church. I thank God so much for saving me from deceit. 🙏🏼
Sounds like your previous Church was using "God told me" to manipulate people. Never take their word for it. Always test the spirit.
Why does the Trinity not appear in the Bible?peace,,.;
When God speaks to someone it comes with confirmation, and it always comes to pass
Amen
Amen, scripture in it’s context🙌🏼
Exactly!!!! That’s what I say also. I tell people that God lays things on my heart to share with them. Most of the time, it is from scripture.
You said a whole message. Thank you. He is misleading people a bit and that's unfortunate.

How are you going with God but everyone that you are quoting is man. What gives Luke and Amos the authority?
Thank you for this message! If we want to hear God speak, read His word aloud.

Hallelujah, thank you!!! More brothers and sisters need to speak out about this.

@ln3982 No Christian Bible canon as compiled and canonized claim itself to be God's word, the NT doesn't contain any singular non-contradictory narrative and Christianity is a complete perversion and inversion of the Hebrew Bible. So no. Nothing you say lines up with God's actual word.

while there is some truth to what Pastor is saying, the biblical logic ultimately fails to track with it.
@@christianayers622 You are correct that it is impossible for someone to know bible god without the bible. And it is impossible for anyone to get a bible without man. Man has to write the bible and man has to introduce the bible to you. So there is no way to bible god without a bible and there is no way to a bible without man.
Praise God.
@@NSOcarth Thank you 😊
I agree!
That's a really good rule. Thanks for sharing.
I’m so glad that someone spoke this out!
I've been hearing these words all week and it has truly been a test of my (very new and fragile) faith. This came right on time. Thank you!
Brother Allen is always on point. My pastor said the same thing during his sermon last Sunday. Be careful when people say, “God told me”
I was always hesitant to say "God Told Me," etc, even when I had an experience with Him.
Those who heard God in the old testament often started their sentences with "thus said the Lord" , prophet Agabus when telling Paul about his future persecution said "thus said the Lord concerning the man who owns this girdle ..."
An attitude of doubt and fear is unscriptural in spite of the fact that hearing from God is highly abused and manipulated today
Thank you Allen, you nailed this one. I want to run whenever one who claims they are a believer says, “God told me”.
Not only believers, but Pastors say “God told me” too. I run away too.
He speaks n He will continue to do it. We only need the power of God to understand His voice when He speaks

You coming back strong😂 oh yeah people gonna be big mad about this video but I’m with you when you’re right brother❤
Thank you for this lesson, I have definitely heard from many people who have said "GOD told me." That's why now I am able to discern what is really GOD sent or from another source. There are times when it has been authentically given from GOD for sure and this is why this lesson is important. Thank you my brother Allen Parr.
Bro ... I was thinking about this recently ... its crazy ... I am glad u covered this.
Amen. God bless you. Praise God!
Amen ❤
THANK YOU!
I don’t listen to them either
He didn't say God doesn't speak to people though.
This message is so needed now❤! Thank you brother 😊
This is 5 billion, trillion, percent on point! Thank you for this video!
Amen. This has caused me a lot of pain in my life. Congratulations on the book brother Allen. Hope to get a copy in 🇿🇦❤
Thanks for always sharing the truth, no matter how uncomfortable or "politically incorrect" it might be.
Thank you brother Parr for addressing this. 🔥
So so true! there is a lot of "God told me" nonsense on social media that can give Christianity a negative perception.
This message is very much needed in the church today. Nailed it!
Right on time!!! I found myself searching that exact phrase on RUclips last night, and I thought,"I need to do a Bible study on this, because these so called prophets have gotten out of control, and people keep letting their itching ears drive them to this unbiblical content. Great job, Allen!
GOD SPEAKS TO THOSE HE CALLED AND HE CHOOSE FOR HIS KINGDOM ACORDING TO HIS PURPOSE
THANK YOU FOR SAYING THIS. I feel like this is all I hear in church now…… thank you Allen keep speaking the truth.
Why does the Trinity not appear in the Bible?peace,,.;
Yes, we always need to be intentional about testing the spirit before ascribing anything to God. 🙏🏽✝️
Thank You!
Excellent teaching! Too many people use that phrase to manipulate people.
Awesome teaching Pastor Parr 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 thank you. I'm so tired of those folks who does this 😒
Me too, they're soo annoying.
Is The Father vindictive, or (no disrespect) your Mother? What tire of ministry was/is it?

I see this so much on social media. Thank you for this video.
We are equipped. His word and His spirit are not hard to discern. Thank you, Allen. I expect your subscribers to grow, not shrink, because of the solid teaching you do.
Just subscribed because of this video! Amen amen!!!
I am in complete and total agreement with this. The Lord speaks to us through the understanding of his word
Agree... By the guidance of His Holy Spirit
Exactly!
