It would not satisfy the current generation of viewers who demand overtaking every lap. In that year, Mika and Michael only fought side-by-side in that famous Spa overtake and I reckon for a few laps at Nürburgring.

Although the current qualifying format is alright, I miss these hour-long qualifying battles. It's amazing how consistent these guys were. They only got four hot laps during the entire qualifying and they were all fairly good, without obvious mistakes, based on the sector times.
