Cornish pasties are available in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and in mining towns in northern Minnesota, which had an influx of Cornish miners in the late 1800's. There are a few places in the Twin Cities (and at least one food truck) that make pasties, not sure if they are close to authentic.

Australian here. Dying to try a Greggs Sausage Roll. I've heard a million great things about it from you Brits. We do have the iconic Four and Twenty Sausage Roll, but it's kinda fallen off in the last decade. Patties is the classic party sausage roll. If you want good sausage rolls here, you have to go to local cafes as they are usually homemade and super bloody tasty! Tomato sauce (not ketchup) is essential for sausage roll eating. I tend to enjoy BBQ sauce with a Spinach and Ricotta Roll though!
After reading your comment now I feel guilty for living in the UK for almost 10 years and not having ever tried Gregg's sausage roll despite having a shop just a couple of minutes away from my flat 🤣
I live in the States and in my town we have food truck called London Calling and they serve sausage rolls and they are delicious! They also serve a side of Guinness gravy for dipping and it is a delicious combination! 😋
Ollie mentioning Halal just made me teared up a little. I've watched so many Jolly videos and who'd know a video of sausage roll party is where i feel most included 🥺
There's a sausage roll war/contest every year in the dutch province of North Brabant. I've never had a good one bought from a grocery store, they're always too dry. Some bakeries specialize in sausage rolls (and then compete with other bakeries doing the same) and a good sausage roll is next level. Scrumptious, moist pork goodness.
@@iWhacko You're correct. Saucijzenbroodje uses puff pastry, worstenbroodje uses bread dough afaik. They've got those different types in the UK as well. "Sausage roll" translates to both a "worstenbroodje" and a "saucijzenbroodje" (courtesy of google translate), although what is being presented in the video is probably quite similar to the dutch saucijzenbroodje, if not exactly the same. Do you like saucijzenbroodjes better or do you like worstenbroodjes better?
@@rivkavermeij I prefer worstenbroodjes because I've never had a saucijzenbroodje that wasn't dry. A saucijzenbroodje tends to sit in my stomach like a brick. I don't hate puff pastry though. I miss the cronut, it should make a comeback in my local supermarkets :)
It felt so nice hearing Ollie talk about Halal idk just feel more included that he knows about that stuff. You guys should do a video where you go to halal restaurants and takeaways and try those foods. I bet you wouldn't see a difference just that the meat/chicken is slaughtered in a halal way for us to consume plus no pork or alcohol

We’re all complete foodies in my team at work and we frequently do taste tests, pitting supermarkets against each other. Of course, we did sausage rolls. M&S won with their smoked bacon & cheddar sausage rolls - highly recommend adding this to your sausage party. 😉
Sausage rolls are a normal snack in Denmark, and stores like 7-Eleven sell them. Even in XL versions where they are like the size of 3 sausage rolls combined
My family used to buy something like 300-400 of those little sausage rolls at Christmas... whenever I mention that to others they struggled to believe it, but honestly, they barely lasted those few days when everyone was over. We'd then buy more for New Years. Can't imagine Christmas without hundreds of sausage rolls.
Oooh! Those are probably roughly the same thing as the Saucijzenbroodjes we have in the netherlands! Our pastry is usually as airy and crispy as those minis you had (unless they are old). The best ones in my opinion come from the restaurant at the Hema store. If you're ever here, go try them!

If you want good sausage rolls here, you have to go to local cafes as they are usually homemade and super bloody tasty!
Tomato sauce (not ketchup) is essential for sausage roll eating. I tend to enjoy BBQ sauce with a Spinach and Ricotta Roll though!
Believe me the quality of Greggs' products are very low. Nothing to write home about
After reading your comment now I feel guilty for living in the UK for almost 10 years and not having ever tried Gregg's sausage roll despite having a shop just a couple of minutes away from my flat 🤣
@@georgezee5173 of you try ask if they are warm if they aren't they aren't good
The look of pure joy on Ollie's face when he pulls out the sausage roll...I needed that this morning.
I live in the States and in my town we have food truck called London Calling and they serve sausage rolls and they are delicious! They also serve a side of Guinness gravy for dipping and it is a delicious combination! 😋
ollie looks so much like the little kid from home alone in this outfit
WOW YOU GUYS ARE BACK BRB IMMA CRY A LITTLE BIT. I'VE MISSED YOU GUYS!!!!!!!
Ollie mentioning Halal just made me teared up a little. I've watched so many Jolly videos and who'd know a video of sausage roll party is where i feel most included 🥺
Ollie’s personality is represented by his jumper, colourful and vibrant!
There's a sausage roll war/contest every year in the dutch province of North Brabant. I've never had a good one bought from a grocery store, they're always too dry. Some bakeries specialize in sausage rolls (and then compete with other bakeries doing the same) and a good sausage roll is next level.
Scrumptious, moist pork goodness.
sorry, but a sausage roll is more like a saucijzenbroodje, the worstenbroodje of brabant is something different. for one, the pastry is different.
@@itsalwayshalloweenexceptwh5118 personally, I prefer worstenbroodjes, saucijzenbroodjes fill me up way too much lol
I love how when they features Korean food it was lots of variety but when it was British;
✨s a u s a g e ✨
Ottie popping the ENTIRE onion in his mouth is insane 🤣
That crunch is so satisfying 😋
Ollie’s outfit really giving me Kevin from home alone vibes
It felt so nice hearing Ollie talk about Halal idk just feel more included that he knows about that stuff. You guys should do a video where you go to halal restaurants and takeaways and try those foods. I bet you wouldn't see a difference just that the meat/chicken is slaughtered in a halal way for us to consume plus no pork or alcohol
Halal slaughter is cruel
@@hihihiha2313 So slitting an animals throat without stunning is a nice way to die in your mind huh. And for religion. Nah mate I am right you're a muslim or a jew who condone these things.
@@caroldocherty6810 there are literal studies that prove that method of slaughter causes very little pain for the animal
@@HunterPup13 You are someone who believes everything they read then.
@@caroldocherty6810 and you are someone who don't believe in reading i suppose?
Australians also hold the blessed sausage roll in high esteem… Damn now I want a sausage roll
I have been to 5 star hotels and at the buffet I always choose to eat beans on toast. It's literally one of my favourite things in the world, and no one gets me. I am a foodie, but this speaks to me. Warm canned beans on crispy toast...is just incredible to me.
“Beans on toast is not a sublime meal” excuse you, beans on toast, bit of nice cheddar grated on top and a bit of pepper - fantastic
the wardrobe difference really highlights their personalities and i love it HAHAHAHH
I think thats the first time ever that ollie took josh's role of sitting quietly in fear of what's the latter's going to bring him.
The fact that Josh's urn is just chilling in the background....
Yummmm, sausage rolls are popular here in New Zealand also, now I’m craving a sausage roll ....lol. Thanks Josh and Ollie for brightening up my days when you guys upload, never a dull moment with you guys, so happy and funny. Keep up the great work and have a Jolly good day. From this jollybean in NZ to you in the UK. Also Brie is super adorable.
We’re all complete foodies in my team at work and we frequently do taste tests, pitting supermarkets against each other. Of course, we did sausage rolls. M&S won with their smoked bacon & cheddar sausage rolls - highly recommend adding this to your sausage party. 😉
I love how Ollie casually mentioned that the vegan sausage roll is halal, thank you, will definitely try it out if I ever go to the UK 🥺
Sausage rolls are a normal snack in Denmark, and stores like 7-Eleven sell them. Even in XL versions where they are like the size of 3 sausage rolls combined
Ollie put that ENTIRE pickled onion in his mouth at one time! What a BRAVE MAN you are Ollie!
PLEASE NEVER STOP MAKING VIDEOS ❤️
Our sausage rolls in australia are flakier and longer, but still inspired by the brits!
"Jolly: Eat Like The English" I love their title cards sm I don't know why lol
The fact that Josh's urn is behind him is killing me
My family used to buy something like 300-400 of those little sausage rolls at Christmas... whenever I mention that to others they struggled to believe it, but honestly, they barely lasted those few days when everyone was over.
