one of the greatest tragedies in the world: biscuit falling into tea.
i hate that the most. then i try to scoop it out with another biscuit and that one falls in too
that bits that falling into the tea is my favorit eat it with a spoon at the end yum
@@Diviner I feel like you're commentating my life.
Unpopular opinion, I kinda like it... It's like a goodie at the end of tea (to be fair I'm indian and our tea is kinda different)

hehehe i loove the irony of Ollie getting mad at Josh for buying so many snacks. xD
It's true, especially after the whole Spam extravaganza.
they know how each other feels xD
Ollie: "this is restraint?!"
Also Ollie: I bought a 300 dollar can of spam 😃
Yet Ollie buys about 30€ for a milliliter of oil.
India also has a biscuit in tea dipping culture, tho we specifically do it in slightly spiced chai. Personally, my fav has to be Parle G, it’s sweet, crunchy and just one can get you addicted! 😂
I reall like to dip with Marie biscuits in my masala tea or coffee, it's sturdy enough but gets to the right level of sogginess if dipped long enough.

Shortbread is SO good. Perfect balance of semi-sweet and buttery!
RIGHT? 😂
"The essence of bland"
Ollie's violently English palette should not surprise me but it still does.
Rich teas are REALLY GOOD tho. It's kinda like the equivalent of a loaf of fluffy inside, firm outside, warm, freshly baked baguette or smth but for biscuits. Like should be plain but it just works
Josh desperately saving his broken biscuit drowning in his tea is me trying to save my Oreo in my milk.
I keep a spoon on hand for a reason! Also, the day I first bit into an oreo manufactured at a different plant and realized their recipe is different depending on where it was made, I almost cried. The difference affects how the cookie melts. Imagine an oreo that just refuses to break down like a block of cement with a semi-fake chocolate flavor. I was so angry, I was ready to write a letter until I google'd and found out I could still get the original recipe if I shopped at certain stores.
I think that's why ,in the USA in particular..we tend to specifically categorize between breads, rolls, biscuits(puffy breads) ,then crackers - made mostly of a flour base(but may have flavorings that are not in themselves with a sweetness) and then from "cookies"- which usually have sweetness, flooring ,icing or chocolate coverings or fillings .There are always exceptions, however, such as vanilla wafers and graham crackers for example.I think that's what confuses most Brits and Americans basically about each other's terminologies....our eating traditions and descriptives.
We reserve the word cracker purely for _savoury_ biscuits. People will often have a snack of eg 'cheese and crackers' part way through the evening if they've dined early, or if eating out, people may choose 'cheese and biscuits' instead of a pudding at the end of their meal.
A biscuit here is any sweet baked, crisp or crunchy item, baked from a dough.
Cookies however are soft - you can _bend_ them. You cannot bend British biscuits, they'd snap in two!
"Shortbreads are the Queen's mother."
"It's dead."

As an American, the name “Digestive” really threw me off as a name for a biscuit. I googled it and apparently they’re named as such because they were invented to aid digestion. Well, now I know haha

I've always wondered that myself as an American 🤷🏼♀️... it's an awful name 🤭

I was literally dunking my chocolate coated hobnobs when I clicked on this video. As Malaysians, we also love dunking biscuits and crackers in our tea or coffee, sometimes in our cup of Milo. I remember when I was a child, my aunt taught me to crumble crackers in a cup of tea and scoop them out with a spoon like eating a bowl of cereal. I secretly do it as an adult on rainy days. The warm comfort on those chilly rainy days.
As an American, "Digestive biscuit" sounds very unappetizing. 😂

You guys are amazing, please keep doing videos. Especially about Ollie learning Korean.
Tom Holland said “ if your Nan doesn’t offer you a Jaffa cake is she even your Nan?”
I think Jaffa Cakes are not biscuits because biscuits need to be hard and snappy when you bite into them but Jaffa Cakes's "biscuit layer" is kind of like a sponge cake consistency.
JAffa cakes are eaten like biscuits tho, like you would have them with a cuppa. If someone asked if you wanted cake and they came back with Jaffa cakes, you'd be confused. So i think, they are culturally biscuits lol
cakes harden when they go stale, biscuits go soggy. A Jaffa goes hard.
The weird thing is that I know biscuit in Germany as soft cake layers or sweet biscuit fingers which you can soften with some spirit and put in cakey stuff too. But it is pronounced the french way here.
@@jong2146 They literally used this defence in court to keep Jaffa cakes VAT free.

Genuinely offended that they skipped over the bourbon creams.
I bought those once and was confused because they didn't taste like bourbon at all. Is it the name of a place?
Apparently in 1930s they were renamed after the House of Bourbon, a European royal house with French roots who had thrones in France, Naples and Sicily at the time.
Yeah. I’m actually from Kentucky and we take Bourbon (the drink) very seriously around here. So all of this confused me a bit. Lol

The tea cakes remind me of the Whippets we have in Canada. Delish!
Biscuits turn soft when they go stale, cakes turn hard. So, jaffa cakes are cakes.
But what about crabcakes?
Yep. I think the manufacturers went to court to decide it. The result was that they are cakes.
