34:50 (On The atmo thruster placement on the mining ship) Since the downward thrusting (upward facing) ones only take up one block horizontally, then you could put them in the middle of the container (leading the center port open) while putting the forward and backwards thrust where the upward facing ones are now at the edges of the container. Also, with the square flat-mo under the front edge of the container, if you need more upwards thrust, which you probably will, you can put a rounded one under the cockpit against the square flat-mo on the bottom. Somebody did a test of not just how much damage area they cover, but also how much power they produce. And I believe it's 3/1, 1 flat-mo to cover the same power as one regular thruster.
It was so nice of the the sparrows to deliver parts to you .... The back side of the new cockpit has two small ports and you ' lined it up' with one of the large ports on the cargo.
When the drone was shot down and landed on your new miner ship..... I hate to say it but I laughed so hard while also feeling your pain. I have so many of my own space engineer games while running mods the game will restlessly never give a break. So much pain and fun. love your content. thanks for tenacity to soldier on.
37:54 (on fitting batteries around the thrusters) You could use a lot of the small batteries, but they are way less efficient than the larger ones. But with the current side thrusters the way they are, if you move the downwards thrusting (upwards facing) ones to the middle, then you could put batteries on both sides of the forward thrusters. But you might have a problem with the forward thrusters cooking the back ones. If you move the forward thrusting ones to the back, you could put two stacks of batteries, four large batteries, two on each side in front of them. You might only lose access to the side port on the container, though.
Someone already said it about the convertor between the cockpit and cargo. This one had me rolling reminds me of your Pertam outpost with the Reveares leaving holes everywhere. The sparrows were a sneaky bunch. Poor miner didnt get its first real flight.
Hi Bearded! I'm so sorry that you kept getting attacked via the LUDICROUS SPEED mod!!! LOL That was absolutely INSANE! I want to tell you that I feel that Space Engineers is all about building things that work, but to build them YOUR WAY! Sure, you can make a drill, piston, battery, and storage container that goes straight up and down. That being said, a certain SOMEONE we all know, and love, could build an INFINITE drilling rig that has a continuous stream of delicious ores of all kinds! You've done building at normal speed, you've built at triple speed, and you've used the spectator camera for sensational effect. When you use all three of those together, it makes for a wonderful video! Exploring your world or space "arena" are all part of it, but the BUILDING part is the heart and soul of the series/game! Please don't take out the building part of your series, as this is what drew me to your channel in the first place. The way you figure things out, the way you hide, fight, and win are all a part of the immersion that we all come to see on our journey that is your channel. Just be yourself! QUESTION: Can you turn off your person beacon in your suit so that the pesky drones don't seek you out? I'm so happy that you were so aggressively fighting to remove those AI Control Modules!!! So much fun! LOVE YOUR CHANNEL!
Decoys man Dig a tunnel from your bunker out to an empty space, within range of your base defences, put in a floor to get power, whack down a decoy. The sparrows with spen alot of time attacking the decoy and be obliterated by your base defences
Here's an idea. To avoid your base being shot up by drones, and causing you to waste time repairing everything, why not build an underground base? If you find a steep hill with a sheer face you could bore into it and make a base with a hanger that is protected from attack. It would restrict the area they could attack to just the entrance, which would be easier to defend.
I'm sure you figured it out already, but the flush cockpit has 2 small connection on the back, not a large. So it's not passing into the cargo. A converter would fix that so you can get rid of the spaghetti monstrosity. Also... aren't you able to make yourself some better hand tools yet? Even the next tier up would be less painful. My wife thought I was nuts laughing my butt off when those sparrows were just raining down on top of you. Especially that sneaky one that was hovering behind you. I could just imagine you're minding your own business grinding something and you hear a THONK-THONK as it taps the back of your helmet.
One thing I learned very quickly while using gatling turrets is that the only thing they are good for - is shooting down meteors (and even then it's not ideal). It's kind of sad how shit they are. Tickling enemies while they chunk your grids gets very annoying the more enemies there are. Switched to assault canons and autocannons and it's night and day.
@CosmicIntroverts damage could be fine if it didn't miss that often and that fire delay wasn't a thing and shooting manually to get rid of that delay - you get a significant bullet drop on top of accuracy xD They do a decent enough job at clearing very weak and small targets, but if it's smth like a base turret or a decent small ship/drone your chances to lose climb up. I however did not play much with automaton AI and maybe there's a way to make them work
Hey there, new sub here. I like watching the building process myself. I just got back into SE after being away for awhile. I like how you connected your rover to your base with hinges. I usually use pistons, but I think I may like the hinges better. I may give them a shot!
you took out MES mod not the assert mod, they're 2 different ones, assert adds those kamikaze drones and special thusters you're supposed to capture from the ships and stuff
Too bad about the mod not working correctly. We depend on so many of our mods. But that was the right choice to turn it off. That was just way too much. You'd be out of ammo in no time.
MES will be reactivated if you dont remove ALL mods, relying on MES like Reavers, Assert, Imber and so on. Since MES is a dependency it WILL get added again automatically by those mods ;) But atleast you removed Assert, which might buy you some breathing room.
Why the hell is it so much fun to see you continue to fight this upward battld

I did finally figure out that there were two small ports on the new cockpit. Sometimes it just takes me a minute lol.

Glad you like the content. It was was kind of funny. I didn't expect it to go kamikaze..

Hey Bearded. You mentioned the new update increasing spawn rates. I noticed Reavers is set to "Hurt me plenty!" since the new update.
I believe it lol.

Thanks for the great feedback. I'm glad you like the building aspect of SE. It's my favorite aspect of the game.
Decoys man

That a clever idea. Thanks!

That sparrow did take me by surprise lol.
An o2 generator would align the cockpit conveyor togther

Yeah, I think the cannons are better than the gatling guns. It would be nice if they could up the dps on the gats a bit.

To deactivate the drones you need to destroy their AI control module. Once the module is destroyed, the drones become inert.

Thanks for the sub. Building in SE is my favorite part of the game. Good to here you're back into playing SE!
No problem. Thanks man. Only issue I have with SE is i lose hours before i realize how long I played. 🤪
if it makes you feel better. the kamikaze drone got a verbal 'HA! of course it did.' from me.
You need a Build and Repair mod for clean up and repair.
Watched and Liked 👍
A Good ole' Build and Repair would be helpful.
you took out MES mod not the assert mod, they're 2 different ones, assert adds those kamikaze drones and special thusters you're supposed to capture from the ships and stuff
I did say MES but I also took out the assert mod as well. Sorry, I should have mentioned that too.
@CosmicIntroverts ah gotcha I wasn't sure, I didn't know they'd still spawn like that
Too bad about the mod not working correctly. We depend on so many of our mods.
But that was the right choice to turn it off. That was just way too much. You'd be out of ammo in no time.
It was insane the amount of spawns. I don't mind a challenge but MAN, that was intense!
I know I'm late to the party. But if you built a better grinder you could have taken out those drones so much faster.
That's for sure. I get used to the speed of the basic tools and forget to upgrade when I can. I'll learn some day.
MES will be reactivated if you dont remove ALL mods, relying on MES like Reavers, Assert, Imber and so on. Since MES is a dependency it WILL get added again automatically by those mods ;)

I'm pretty sure I removed all of the mods along with MES. I'll check again. Thanks for the tip!
