I love your videos. A couple years ago I decided I was going to learn to crochet I found your videos and learned how. I love the close ups when your learning that’s very important. Thank you so much!
Melanie, I want to thank you for the super tutorials. Basically, I have taught myself to crochet by using your tutorials. I have bought books, but nothing has been as helpful as your You Tube tutorials. I am looking forward to making this scarf! I did want to ask you to pause a bit longer and hold the item a bit closer to the camera so we have time to really process where to place the first couple of stitches in a new round or when starting or turning the item. This would really help. I have made 7 scarves now and am looking forward to this one!
This video is brillant... I've been crocheting nearly a year now and I've been searching for an easy ruffle scarf tutorial and this is it... :-) Thanks! Love your videos! xx
Just finished my scarf/shawl and i love it! I made it 10 stitches wider so i can put it over my shoulders while sitting outside on a cooler evening. I used a periwinkle blue and white colour. thanks so much ! x
Hi Melanie, your scraf pattern is very beautiful, i successfully made 4 with different color: tidal, meadow, sugarcane and springtime . Thanks for your channel
I loved this tutorial I had trouble getting started s I used some practice yarn. So now I am going to use the yarn u used. Will let u know when I have finished. That is if it looks like the one u did.
"🎄🌟 Hi Melanie..I just heard about you from Ella @ No Catchy Name while she was making this beautiful Ruffle Scarf.. I mostly use tutorials to crochet as I'm not good at reading patterns ..so I knew I wanted to subscribe to your channel 🤗. I'm excited to see your other beautiful creations ..xoxo ~ Janet from Milwaukee, WI 🌟🎄"
Hi Melanie, this is a great scarf! Just finished this yesterday. Using RH unforgettable parrot colorway. Looks so beautiful. Thank you for your awesome tutorial but your written pattern could use a make-over though.
Can I chain the length instead of the with so I dont have to turn my work so much on this scarf? Will it make a difference when I add the ruffled trim?? Thanks for your great vidoes!!
Hello.. I want to change the width of the scarf, make it narrower... I was wondering how do I do that... I reduce the number of chain stitches but will it have an impact on the ruffle?
How many rows does your scarf have when you finished the middle? I'm doing this slightly different instead of thirty chains I'm incorporating a cluster stitch rather than the simple double crochet and crocheting the length first rather than the width. I believe I found the right width but I wasn't sure what a typical length was for the fist step. I got one hundred chains as the length. 34.5 inches long by 6 inches wide
Gorgeous work! I got unforgettable in dragonfly and I can't wait to do it!! Did you have enough yarn leftover for a headband or maybe a hat? I have to make a Michaels run anyways and I was wondering if I should get another skein. Thanks and this is again awesome
I love this scarf! I just have a couple of questions. How many double crochets are in each row? I've stopped the video several times and I can't get a good count. I'm thinking it's 15, counting each end as a double crochet. Also, the ends of my rows are not real even. But i think it won't matter too much because when you single crochet all the way around it will make it more even and the ruffle will hide it too. Thanks! I love your videos.
Karen Yingling Probably the infinity would work best or the simple beginner one... I'll link them both. ruclips.net/video/7yB83IQYGeI/видео.html and ruclips.net/video/Gx6oEOxOekI/видео.html
A quick question..you know your stylish scarf for fall video pattern? I was wondering if I could do that but in stead of going in ]the big hole for the next row..I was wondering if I could do it like this pattern and do it on the post stitch instead of the hole....just that when I do the other project....it comes out looking all weird and this one it looked straight and nice.......
I got the same yarn but I bought it at Walmart & as I was useing the yarn the strands got smaller in thickness so I am going to buy some at joanns & see if Walmart sells the skeins that are not perfect & that is why it is less expensive will let u know what I find out
Joyce Bower I ran into this same issue, and I bought mine from Michael's. I've also used other long stripping colors from this brand and it seems to be the way it's manufactured unfortunately.
Hello Melanie 😃 I don't know if you still check comments on your video's, and so I'm hoping you'll respond to this. I plan to make this scarf for a friend's Mom, for Christmas, but I'm not sure how much I should charge. I realize there are many different thing's that determines the price, but can you give me a 'ballpark' figure that I can at least go by, to determine a fair price? Thank you in advance 🙂
Hi I am Brian and I’m a beginner crocheter because I’m new at crocheting and I haven’t crocheted before And Can a beginner crochet person like me make this scarf find beginner crochet crocheter let me know as soon as possible
Brian Mitchell I just finished mine and I am a beginner! So of course you can do it... Just make sure to put the video in slow motion... I messed up a lot, but I tried and tried over and over until I made it... You can check Melanie's Ham Twitter I posted my scarf picture there few days ago.
Barbara OConnor on a desktop, it says "show more" under the video. Click the "show more" and it will open up. If you are on a mobile device, to the right of the video title there is a little arrow that looks like this...v... click on that and the about box/description box will open ;)
I love your channel. I crochet too but not as well as you. My mom, my aunt, and my sister's aunt all tried to teach me how to crochet but then I learned how to do it at a local yarn shop. I've been crocheting since I was twelve years old and I'm twenty-six. I have a RUclips channel as well. You should check mine out. I have a few crochet videos as well.
Just watched the tribute to Melanie Ham's life she must have been an amazing mother she was so easy to learn crochet from
Just finished the scarf it came out beautifully
I love your videos. A couple years ago I decided I was going to learn to crochet I found your videos and learned how. I love the close ups when your learning that’s very important. Thank you so much!

This is one of my favorites. Thanks so much!
¡Lindisima, muchas gracias!
Awesome video! Gonna make one for myself! Are you on ravelry?
Wow! What an awesome channel find! LOVE IT!! Thank you for the tutorial!
Nice pattern 👍❤️
Hello! Should I just keep repeating row 3(4:50) to the length I want?
Can I use the wool ease chunky yarn for this scarf project? You do a great job explaining and demonstrating for the beginner. Thank you for that!!
Karen Yingling that yarn might be a little thick for this scarf especially the ruffle portion. You could try it though!
I'd like to reduce the chain of 30 so the scarf would be thinner. What multiple should I use?
very beautiful sister, i'll show it to my friend in order to work for me like it 😍😍😍😍😍😍
Can I chain the length instead of the with so I dont have to turn my work so much on this scarf? Will it make a difference when I add the ruffled trim?? Thanks for your great vidoes!!
I love your video.l hope u make more videos

Oh sorry, just read about box! OK, new question, would it be OK to use those sizes?
Gorgeous work! I got unforgettable in dragonfly and I can't wait to do it!! Did you have enough yarn leftover for a headband or maybe a hat? I have to make a Michaels run anyways and I was wondering if I should get another skein. Thanks and this is again awesome
I didn't have much leftover....maaaybe a headband, but it would cut it close. I would get an additional skein if you want to make another accessory!
I love this scarf! I just have a couple of questions. How many double crochets are in each row? I've stopped the video several times and I can't get a good count. Janice Burns I think its 17
Which one of your scarf tutorials would the wool ease chunky yarn work well with? Thanks :)

what are the increments to make it wider? I'd love to make this as a lap blanket. so pretty
Hi Melanie, where can I buy red heart boutique unforgettable? Will you tell me. Thank you.
This is so beautiful, can you use simply Caron yarn & the J hook? Thank you so much! :)
yes this pattern will work well with adjustments in the yarn and hook! Just make sure your hook correlates with the yarn you chose.
Hi there! I was wondering, what hook size did you use? I was thinking about using a size I or H...
She used a J hook
Hermosa.
Pretty scarf.
Thank you!!!:)
Will this pattern work with weight 6 yarn?
Me gusta esta bufanda y quisiera hacérmela. Le agradecería me dijera nº de ganchillo y cuantas cadenetas hace al principio. Un saludo
How many total yards? I have a few different colors that I was thinking about using...
each skein is 279, I used nearly 2 full skeins.
Time mark 5:14.. Wasnt that a half double crochet?
What size or thickness is the yarn? I'm knew loll u can tell..
I somehow found his easier to do than the beanie. Hahahahaha
Also I wanted to know if using a 5.5mm hook is okay besides a 6mm~?
yes, a slightly larger or smaller hook will be fine!
Alright then~! Thanks for answering my question!
le agradecería me dijera el nº del ganchillo. Muy agradecida.

Rip 😢
Your written directions for ruffle really messed me up :-( because it does NOT say to do Extra in corners for round 2...
