In this video, I talk about how I transitioned from being a Regional Flight Attendant to a Mainline Flight Attendant in less than 1 year.
I'll give my best tips on how you can do it in 6 months and ways to wow your recruiter at the interview for mainline. I hope you find this video encouraging if you're looking to promote yourself from Regional to Mainline.
I also give you guys a tour of my hotel room on my layover in Las Vegas from the 55th floor.

Such an inspiration! I've been with my regional for 9 months now and am ready to transition to mainline. It was great starting with a regional because it made me realize that this is something I want to do the rest of my life.

Ebony Christina hey I'm Djeneba Traore I love every single video of yours because it help those who wants to be a flight Attendant but honestly can you please tell us about a reserve flight attendant and how much do they pay.
Have you ever been a reserve Flight Attendant? And how was it for you? Meaning your experience?
What was the airline Name that you work before transition to the Mainline. My regards.

I have been watching your videos since 2015
Last week i just got my CJO with a regional company
I know that one day I want to do mainline
It is very comforting to know thats where you started. That is one of my goals one day too. I cant wait to get all this experience to prepare me for the larger companies. Thank you so much you are such a gem!

This really gave me hope. I recently got a CJO with a regional carrier and I'm excited because I get to finally leave my small town in East Texas, but a little bummed out I won't be be able to travel to "cooler" destinations, but I'm glad that I'm starting out small. Thank you so much for this video and hopefully after a few months of experience, I'll apply for a mainline airline again :)

Ebony can you please tell me, was the regional you worked for the regional for the Legacy airline you are with now? Do you feel there is an edge in transitioning to a Legacy airline from that Legacy's regional or is it looked down upon by that Legacy like you are being disloyal to their regional? I have heard differing opinions on this issue and I have seen working flight attendants not get hired when trying to change over. What is your take on this please?

Ebony Christina Storytimes are pretty good. I enjoyed this storytime so maybe you can do more using this format. You can do miscellaneous things too. For example you can talk about being a flight attendant: what you expect vs what it truly is, worse experience thus far, and finally Q&As. You can never go wrong with Q&As.

I was at Northwest Airlines years ago and they were puchased by delta .
So long story short I have 3 applications out right now American,Delta ., Alaska oh and frontier... Do you think if I don't get response from any of the mainline it's safe to go with frontier since they are a low cost carrier or skip them??
I did vi with one mainline last week so still hopeful for them, but just wondered thoughts on frontier if they are my only chance to get new experience since my airline career was about 16 years ago now. Thank you for your time.

hey ebony💖 I am definitely looking to go mainline. Im curious to know what the application process was like when u transferred from regional to mainline. I've been with my regional carrier for only a few months. how long did u wait to mainline when u were with your regional carrier?

How many days a week do you work? And are you usually away from home staying in hotels the majority of the time? I want to become a flight attendant but I am kind of hesitating because I feel I’d be away from home too much and my relationship would start to go down hill.

Do you think it will be easier to go from Mesa Airlines or Republic Airlines to Mainline. Ive applied to PSA,.Envoy, Endeavor but haven’t heard back. I was a mainline FA back in 1996-2001 with Northwest Airlines so applied to AA and Delta . I got to F2F with AA but didn’t make it :(.. Delta just said TBNT after video. Any advice. I have VI with Mesa and Republic today and tomorrow.

Great information, just wondering if when working for a regional airline, will one have time to work a few days a month as a nurse which is what I currently do. I really want to keep my RN license since I feel that it would be an asset as a flight attendant. Thanks!

Hey I can answer this for you. I think you may be getting regional confused with reserve. Regional just means the type of flying your doing. Think of mainline being intentional flights (better pay and better benefits) and think of regional being domestic (lower pay, okay benefits).
Reserve is when you FIRST start as a flight attendant whether that’s mainline or regional. Reserve is like your probation period when you are on call. Now that you have that information, let me answer your question.
Being that we all start off on reserve, you’re pretty much on call. When they call you, you have to report to work. This can last from 6 months to a year depending on the airline. Having a second job would definitely help financially during your reserve period but it’ll be a little difficult since you’ll be on call. I’d suggest maybe looking into a travel agency? That’s a great question and I hope I helped.

+HEART BROKER No an airline would usually never ask you for money before getting the job. It could be a scam so be careful.
