Highly requested!! I wanted to set aside some time to walk you guys through why I decided to leave my role as a flight attendant for SkyWest. I started in September 2021 and left Feb 2022. As stated, this is not to discourage your decision, these are my opinions alone and everyone has a different experience. Feel free to voice your agreements/disagreements, respectfully. BUT overall the point is... go out there and be the best you at whatever airline you choose! ☁️✈️

When you were doing these 6-8 leg trips, are you turning right back around to the original city you took off from or a layover in a different city to get your required rest? At my airline it's like 2-3 legs and right back where i came from in MSP. Also did you not have 4-day guarantee days off?

Good luck at training! Don’t let me deter you lol. & I don’t think it plays too much of a big deal. I was at the company for 6 months before I left and still got hired at the next with no questions about it really. Maybe it can just be an industry thing as well. Then you have some people waiting for bigger airlines that takes months to respond so they may accept training at a smaller airline in the meantime. So just different factors can play a part and I think they understand that
This is real talk. Thank you for this video! Now are you tested on all the partner planes and commands and need to pass each one and test all the different doors? Please explain if you can. 🙏
The commands are the same across the board but you are tested on different doors and all the different plane configurations

When I went there were no airport codes I’m not sure about now
SkyWest is strict asf I got sent home same day just made it to class took test and missed 7 I changed 3 right answers to 3 wrong answers out of tht 7 I missed. I would of made it if I had of never changed those 3 rights ones
you may not know the answer but do you have any insider on the breeze uniforms? are they planning on adding skirts and dresses and scarfs or are they planning to stick with the casual? i have a CJO from them and im just sad about the outfits
Funny that you mention it! Tomorrow we actually have a big reveal of our new uniforms. We are getting dresses, scarves, etc. but still with sneakers 👟 so I’m excited to see them myself and will report back to you 😂

I just got sent home from OO training this week. I got REALLY sick and ended up missing the first little bit of class cause I was so sick and throwing up. I was REALLY upset, but it was honestly a blessing in disguise. I really don’t like the fear tactics they put into us during training. I had so much anxiety everyday before class it was crazy because I’m not an anxious person at all. I’m definitely not going to give up and going to pursue other airlines. I LOVEEED my class but because my experience I probably wouldn’t reapply to that company in particular

Can you explain what sort of fear tactics they put into you? Is this SkyWest?
@@XjtBA They sent people home for the smallest things. Girls getting sent home for their hair or their tights. Things like that. They reminded us all the time that we are replaceable if we didn’t meet expectations

Good for you Friend ❤ We must ALWAYS put our mental, emotional & physical health, as well as financial sustainability FIRST over any employer. We all need work/life balance not just Execs. I'm proud of you! GOD has MORE for you. The universe is shifting in your favor.
I miss you friend!! But yes I refuse to put a job/company before myself. One thing about me ima quickly go somewhere else/try something different 😂
So i have a question when does per diem pay kick in or that doesnt matter? Also i thought they offer boarding pay now? I have training in a couple weeks and now im nervous 😬
Per diem starts when you check in for your assignment. & I believe they do offer that now. I haven’t been there since over a year ago so this is from my experience back then. Don’t be nervous! Like I said this is my 1% of experiences and not to discourage anyone’s decisions 😊 you got this!

Did you apply for a base transfer, or did you just stick with your 18th choice and call it good?
I did but it wasn’t awarded until about the same time I had already put in my resignation lol
I just got my CJO from Breeze. I should hear back on Skywest decision within a few days now and then also have a group interview with AA. I know AA would prob be better, but the Breeze vs Skywest debate is on. Skywest pays ~$4 more a hour + boarding pay. I know you're much happier at Breeze, but what do you think now since skywest boarding pay and pay difference in general?

Sometimes I miss being a flight attendant, but this is a perfect reminder of why I quit Mesa. SO much work for such little pay and no time to use the benefits or even fly home :( Twas not for me either

I worked for mesa and just quit recently… so I’m applying for other airlines
I just got my CJO from them and go to training in Jan. The recruiter told me I would be able to do school and this but it’s seeming the total opposite 😭
It’s not impossible just may be exhausting getting used to the scheduling at first.

Same with me when I had to commute from IAH to MSP. Thankfully my crashpad was the hotel by the airport and walking distance to the mall. I didn't mind any of them except the CRJ200. Then again, I don't miss babysitting the phone. I was afraid I wouldn't be able to have good reception in the mall. I had to pause the video to comment. This is a very enlightening video. 😊
Thank you! Just wanted to share my honest experience. That commute was no joke lol. My crashpad was pretty close to the airport as well just the winters made it feel like it was a forever walk. I hated it smh
Kay, how much notice did you give before resigning and what did you tell them was your reason?
Hi! Good question. I provided them with a proper 2 week notice as required. You don’t have to give a reason I just said: “I am sending this as my intent for resignation/2-week notice with my last day being ___. If any further information is needed please let me know.”

As you said in the video, never hurts not to burn bridges. By the way, you mentioned staying in JAX for summer period and doing charters. Since you are based in MSY, are you living in a hotel for this period of time, - at Breeze’s expense, I hope. Your friend, Herman
@@Herman-in-SEA We are temporarily based there to do commercial flying since the charter season has slowed down quite a bit in the summer but only there a couple weeks a month, at their expense haha
I feel you I used to work for Republic based in LGA and the multiple codeshares, tons of flights a day it was stressful I gain 40 pounds with that company for no pay. I now work for a Charter Airline 😊

I was Yx too! 😂 I got fired bc I was delivering dogs.... for 5 yrs..& I messed around and got caught. I made a smooth $100k during covid. No lie! Now, I'm going to mainline & then pilot training.

Lol! They have the worst bases to me 😩 & how far along are you in the process? We have people of all ages so it’s not such a big factor, we’re all one big family 🫶🏽

I am so glad you mentioned MLK Day. I was in training and we had that day off. I was on the van and a girl had her Grandma on speaker telling her about having Monday off. She told her why. Grandma started laughing and said why in the hell would they do that? Another issue, I was in the shower and a roommate got the door open. She then went to everyone to let them know I wear a wig since it was hanging on the door. For graduation pic, I had to listen to someone behind tell others they won't be seen in the pic because of all my hair. On my IOE, I asked to reassigned because of the lady who was grading me. She said she was going to pass me regardless. So I didn't learn a thing. The nail in the coffin was when I realized Willow Smith was boarding and I let her know. She called the AFT and told her and ranted calling her a b!tch. W.S. slept the entire flight and her guest was so professional. I remember it because it was the day of the Amazon crash near Houston. We were landing in Dallas from L.A. The landing was very complicated. I remember W.S. cheering at the top of her lungs. Final straw is when the same lady went into a rant at dinner about Beyonce's Formation video. Apparently her husband was a cop. She started yelling at me in front of everyone because I told her I am originally from Louisiana. I called immediately and asked to be pulled the day before I was finished. Luckily I had a great instructor the second time around. Sorry for the long comment. I just know not everyone is treated the same. It was quite obvious starting at training.

OO sent me home they are so racist towards black women. I literally told people I wasn’t upset it was a blessing in disguise. It was was so stressful as black women it was no protection for us.
