Whew, the Skywest comparison to your mainline was spot on. Im currently transitioning to a mainline right now due my unhappiness at SW. Love your vids, Congrats on your anniversary!

Hearing from a former Skywest FA that Skywest Airlines sucks as much as it does is the least surprising thing on the planet. Worth noting for those that don't know: Neither Skywest pilots nor FAs are unionized, so that accounts for a lot of the difference in the benefits. People love to diss unions but just look at how much she got taken advantage of at Skywest versus how her mainline is actually providing things that are beneficial to ergonomics, health, and other things. Skywest made her pay for uniforms for God's sake and paid her 1/2 pay for reserve. You can't tell me that's not greedy and predatory.
Good comparison here though, always interesting to hear first hand accounts of the industry.

This was a great vlog for highlighting the differences between regional and mainline from someone with that actual experience. Thank you! And I love that you get straight to it and it was so informative! I'd love to hear more about your whole process with both airlines: applying and training and new hire stuff

Hey Becca, while you were discussing different destinations, I couldn't help but think that if everything goes well with a certain merger you could be looking at Asia layovers!

Many years ago I worked in the hospitality industry. We had flight attendants stay with us every night Mon-Fri and then we had the whole crew on Fri and Sat nights. Most were a lot of fun to be around. My favorite was one who had the nickname Marilyn Monroe that was based in Atlanta at the time

Going to be starting pilot training on the crj this summer. Was interesting to hear about my company’s FA training. There are plenty of horror stories about the 200 from the pilot side as well!

Hi Becca I am really enjoying your videos and learning so much. I am considering applying to Skywest and hopefully transffering later to mainline Seattle. Did you feel working for Skywest helped you get a job for your now mainline? Or do you feel that it would be better to try to get a job with Horizon as a stepping stone. Any tips would be so helpful.

Thanks so much for watching! I do feel like my regional background proved that i could be successful as a flight attendant, and if you research skywest bases, seattle is one of them! Both companies have bases there. It’s up to you! Starting at horizon might give you a leg up on company benefits though, if that is important to you (benefits, etc.)
