Good evening beautiful lady, as always great video! So I unfortunately had a blind by that I thought I would love. I read the notes I looked on for grand taco and everybody had great things to say. It was Miller Harris Schedzo! Yes young lady you heard me right! On paper it smelled spectacular on my skin it was a big zero ! And that is why you are absolutely right; you must sample on skin before purchasing!

Good Job (again) ! I only blindly buy clones or cheaper fragrances such as zara's and I often do not regret having bought them

I appreciate you’re opinion on not blind buying. I’ve done that many times, mostly cheaper designers but I’ve done one for niche but thankfully I really enjoyed it and was exactly what I expected. Sometimes it’s the thrill of getting something new and being surprised by it like a gamble but I wished I would have tested first. It would have eliminated the extra fragrances I didn’t need. There’s only a few I didn’t really care for but it helps to get “samples” first to know if you really want it or not. Saves you a ton of money and space. So always get samples online. That’s my advice.

Excellent point, Sebastian. A long time ago, being Creed fan, wearing Aventus, Bois Du Portugal and Royal Out on daily bases, I bought Green Irish Tweed. Sweet Jesus, this crap smells like Febreze Air Refresher. From then on, I buy samples on line and save myself not just money but disappointment. Cheerio.

Hi Clémence, hope you're doing well! Out of the 8 Fragances that i bought myself (6 this year, just started collecting a couple months ago) 5 i blind bought haha. Got both Valentino Uomo and Uomo Intense, YSL L'homme L'intense, Azzaro Wanted and my most recently Prada Amber Pour Homme Intense. Niche is very hard to find in my country and extra expensive so....i'm with you on that one best try beforehand. Gotta say Bleu de Chanel(EDP) was one of my most disappointing frags i've ever tried, went to a Chanel store and sprayed my arm...."is that it? ok, it's nice" i was expecting so much more.

I’m tempted to blind buy Piano Santal by L’Orchestre, as I feel convinced it would be perfect for autumn. However, I just ordered a sample to try first, as I agree with your points on blind buying! For instance … Gris Charnel absolutely does not work for me, even though I know it is a favorite for others. Merci et gros bisous, Clémence!

Do you feel uomo by Valentino is a safe blind buy? I love coffee in fragrances and it seems like it’s possibly unisex. I want to try it

I’d say yes, I’ve got this fragrance in my collection since many years now, the coffee is definitely not strong it’s nicely blended, my boyfriend complimented me on it recently actually 😅

Blind buying is a recipe for disaster, I have wasted so much money in the past- it’s a lesson I learned the hard way. Rarely does expectation meet reality as there are lots of factors to consider like skin compatibility, the weather etc. Always worth spending on a sample or decant from reliable sources. I managed to try BDK fragrances a couple of weeks ago and I’m glad that I didn’t blind buy anything. Was really looking forward to trying Gris Charnel but it just didn’t work for me. I was surprised to like a couple of Akro’s offerings (Smoke and Ink) and a kind sales assistant gave me samples to try before I commit buying. Right now I’m really intrigued by Theodoros Kalotinis fragrances as they seem to have a similarity to Akro’s style. Maison Crivelli and Le Jardin Retrouve is also in my sample radar.

Blind buying is always highly risky and I’ve learned this the hard way. Before spending a lot of money on a bottle of perfume, you should know you love it. For example I hate Terre d’Hermes and most Chanel Les Exclusifs. That’s because some popular aromachemicals smell to me very different (as in bad) than to most people. Iso E super and amber max like molecules 🤢

Hi Clemence. Can you recommend an ATH blind buy? I'm thinking of getting one. I was going to get Amouage Reflection man. Now I'm not sure.

Reflection man is a wonderful choice I love it
ATH has a looot of fragrances I did showcase a lot in my video but it all depends on what you like.
For men I love daddy, Haze, onyx …

  • @123tigercub

What is challenging is when a fragrance is discontinued and you fInd only full bottles with no decants online. I just take the plunge, I always have my hubby and eldest son to give my incompatible perfumes to. I would rather try the fragrance and failed rather than not at all.

I love lavender but I cannot stand Libre. Makes me sick every time I try. Too sweet? I don’t know. Something about it.
I love Gris Charnel and Dior Homme Intense.

    • @mizpah1993
      @mizpah1993 2 года назад +1

I agree about Libre, it’s too cloyingly sweet (on my skin anyway, it seems to get progressively worse with wear). Just wish they focused on making the lavender more interesting instead. But then again, it wouldn’t be the crowd-pleasing mass fragrance that it is.
