I have a precious bottle of Midnight Poison by Dior and the sillage on that thing is insane! Most people i work with arent into perfumes so they dont know how sillage and projection works. its hot and humid in tropical country and i wore it once in day time to work, it smells unbelievable and intoxicating. But some time in the height of noon a couple friends was "carried away" by the trail. i kept convincing people it wasnt me because of how far away the scent projects. They ended up assuming a ghost came and went whenever they caught my trail that day. it was really amusing on my part but they were really spooked for days. hiahiahiaaaa ;D
Another instance was when i was in Chanel boutique. They introduced me to 1957. At first it just smelled clean and musky to me, but as i was walking out of the boutique and getting accustom to it on my skin, i was transported to my late mother's backyard where she used to have bergamot trees. It was such an emotional experience that i nearly broke into tears in the middle of the mall. I returned back to the boutique a few days later and purchase the largest bottle. i spent almost every penny of my saving at that time, but with an emotional connection like that, there is no way i'm letting it go.

Beautiful fragrant memories. My first fragrance was Chanel 5 perfume. I was ten and things grew from there. I grew up in the time when people chose a signature fragrance. My Mom chose Je Reviens, she chose Joy for her mother Joy, my Auntie Marni wore Y, my Auntie Peggy wore Chanel 19. I love all of these fragrances but my love of these scents is entwined with the love of these people.
Oh what beautiful memories, funny that we have the same first fragrance around the same age as well!

This memory I'll share. My first chanel Fragrance was Allure homme eau extreme. And i went down town to watch the world cup final at a bar. Randomly seen a old school friend from ages ago there. End up staying out til the morning at some pub/poker game in a beer garden. I don't gamble, so im just watching my friend play. Some girl sitting close by says " Is that you who smells nice?" I said "Oh, thanks" Then she says "Your mate is fit, do you mind swapping seats"🤣. I have fun memories even if i do remember that. I did swap seats and i winked to my friend. And he raised his eyebrow at me looking "Who's this?" I said thank chanel. I gave him the chanel bottle the following week.haha

Loved those memories, Clemence, I was smiling along with you. I have memories with Cerutti -1881 being with my ex at a wedding in Valenciennes, northern France and visiting Lilles and Brussels.
I remember my wedding day by Miracle so magic by Lancome.
My first grown up fragrance was Poeme by Lancome, when I decided to wear other things besides fruity florals, it always puts me in a nostalgic mood.

For me it’s YSL Cinema. My grandma loves it. I was 10, she just came home from France and brought this perfume with her. We had a tradition to have ice cream each Thursday evening. Even on winter (in my country it can be -20C haha). It was 15 years ago, and when I think about it, it’s little me, having 100 layers of clothes, walking through a meter of snow with my grandma to have this ice cream and we both smell like Cinema.
That's a wonderful memory, looks like a cinema scene actually, so sweet !

I was at a club in London, about 25 years ago when I first moved here.....this Swiss guy came to me and asked me: what fragrance are you wearing? Is it Diesel? I got very offended because I had never heard of the brand before and thought he was saying I smelled like some kind of fuel 🤣🤣🤣

Chanel 19 always reminds me of my mother when I was young child. She would spray Chanel 19 when she got dressed up for going out or dressed for church. It reminds me of that feeling of being a little girl in the background and watching her get ready and being fascinated with the beauty rituals of adult women. She did not allow me to play with her things or touch her perfumes or makeup, but sometimes I would sneak into her room and sniff her perfumes, which just 3 Chanel perfumes, 2 that were not in atomizers which she didn't wear (I can't remember the names) and no.19 which she wore. When I was in my 20s I bought Chanel 19 and I wore it often and it made me feel grown-up, but I do not wear it now.

Every time I spray and smell Guerlain Terracotta, I’m transported to a beautiful place. It always makes me happy! I have to say it is my favorite fragrance of all time! I will wear it year round, not just on vacation or in the summer…❤😊

Absolutely, my fav video from you so far. Thas was sooo lovely! Let me tell you about one of my scent memories: in fact, it is the first one that I remember. when I was like 6 or 7, I remember starting our family summer holidays, travelling to the Mediterranean, and my mother wearing a citrus-floral summer fragrance that was soooo uplifting that i remmeber those days as one of the happiest. I don't know anymore the name of that fragrance, but I discovered that "Fleur d'Oranger" from Zara smell exaaactly the same to what I remember. I will always have a bottle of that perfume.

I have fond memories of the original Aqua di Parma when I spent a lot of time in NYc. I was taking courses for my career and flying to New York once a month for 3 days . It was springtime when I first started going and I would bring my ADP cologne and walk around the LES on my time off shopping , eating , drinking and discovering New York for the 1st time with out a care in the world and with the luxury of all the time I wanted. Those courses catapulted my career into the life I have now and I loved every moment of it and will never forget it.

Every time I smell Lilly of the valley flower it brings my memories back when was 6 years old and my mum's perfume.The next one was Jean Paul Gaultier's Le Male - this fragrance was worn by my first love. Byredo's Gypsy Water - will always remind me a hot summer years ago, pine forest and long walks in Stockholm(Sweden) with my friend.

The nostalgic mind of scent is a powerful force...You mentioned the study of philosophy, have you ever heard of phenomologist, philosopher Gaston Bachelard 's the "Poetics of Space?" He speaks of the ways of knowing, remembering, and other aspects in which smell can play an integral role...Anyway your topic reminded me of this...One of my first scents of memory is Farenheight by Dior, the mid 80's version! The only scent that brings back that time today is Cashmere by Stephanie De Bruijin! It transports me to my first time in love. The violet specifically triggers the great feeling of fresh, crisp infatuation in Fall. The warm soft woods that tenderness, the soft flip of her hair....Beautiful topic Clemence ☆ Much respect and appreciation ♡

I love love YSL too!! Manifesto is absolutely beautiful and I also adore Cinéma, because of beautiful memories made in Italy. My new fav YSL is Libré, and I associate it with liberation from bad relationships. Those three will always be in my 10 for life! I also love Poeme because of very beautiful memories made travelling in France and Germany. Being from a 3rd world country it was my wildest dream come true to travel to Europe. And I got to spend my 22nd birthday in Paris! Poeme as well as J'adore remind me of that vacation!

It was my first niche fragrance and deepened my love and interest of fragrance, and it's also how I found your channel!😄 Jazz Club by Margiela reminds me of my uni days in NYC and specifically of going to on bar in Brooklyn. :) Valentino's Valentina Assoluto reminds me of a brief study abroad I did one summer in Paris.😄 It's truly amazing how much scent can bring you back to a time in your life.

Watching your videos is like sitting and talking to a friend. Cheers clem. I was not crazy about Dior homme when I first smelled it but I bought it for nostalgic reasons. " it reminded me of my mothers smell, when I was a child, particularly how her handbag smelled." Imagine my surprise when I heard a youtuber say it smells like a woman's handbag. 🇹🇹😂. I was already collecting for a long time but I think that the point where my taste matured, I fell in love with the Dior homme line and now dhp is my favourite designer scent. Today I am really into wearable niche like mancera and pdm fragrances.
Cacharel Lou Lou back in the 80s. The first perfume I bought for myself fresh out of high school, first part time job, at art school art, first boyfriend. A very exciting time of my life...

I really enjoy this concept, as I love neuroscience (especially when it comes to olfactive memories) and, obviously, fragrances!
Philosykos by Diptyque reminds me of my childhood (the EDT & EDP both do). I spent a lot of time playing outside and there was a fig tree in my neighborhood that my friends and I would play near (we’d pick the figs, often before they were ripe though 😅). This is one of my favorite fragrances and it is so comforting to me.
Gris Charnel by BDK evokes memories of one of my favorite more recent dates. Maybe this is the case because it was the first date that I had been on after getting out of a really toxic relationship. And, the guy who I was on a date with was really sweet. We both work in the sciences, and he was legitimately interested in discussing my research (I study the olfactory system). That meant a lot to me. I also had a romcom moment in which I slipped on ice in a parking lot and basically hugged him to prevent myself from falling, which was kind of cute. At some point he mentioned that I smelled nice. Unfortunately, things didn’t work out for us in the long run, but it’s still a good memory.
Last week I wore Mandarine by Precious Liquid layered with Neroli Musk (from the same house) when I went to the climbing gym with my friend. At one point, he was like: “Do you smell oranges? Something smells like a freshly peeled orange.” I was like: “oh that’s me haha.” I guess he was just not used to me smelling like a photorealistic fruit. So, now those fragrances will remind me of that funny moment and one of my favorite things to do: climbing.

Ohlala je vous adore ! Vous êtes tellement pétillante ! 🥂J’ai du coup envie de vous raconter ma vie olfactive (très brièvement !). Il y a beaucoup de parfums que j’ai portés et ne peux plus supporter, pas forcément parce qu’ils enferment un mauvais souvenir, mais plutôt des périodes révolues de ma vie (ma jeunesse en gros… 😢) : Angel, Coco Mademoiselle, J’adore Dior, Coolwater Davidoff, Nuit étoilée A.Goutal : ce dernier sent pourtant divinement bon !
Mes ❤️❤️❤️ de la vie sont :
- Sunflower d’E. Arden, sorti l’été de mes 13 ans : j’ai complètement basculé dans l’adolescence ! 🤪
- Ambre de Réminiscence me rappelle un magasin de bijoux où je me rendais exprès pour sentir cette odeur qui m’enivrait
- Mitsouko Guerlain / Bel Ami Hermès, qui me feraient chialer tellement ils m’évoquent 2 amis très chers (dont un ex avec qui nous sommes restés très proches 👫) ;
- Hypnotic Poison Dior et Féminité du bois : mes parfums dans lesquels je me sens bien depuis des années. Quand Féminité du bois est sorti c’était Shisheido (j’étais très jeune) et il était moins cher. Plus tard je suis retombée dessus par hasard chez Lutens… j’ai fait un retour dans le passé tourbillonnant et je l’ai racheté direct !
Puis on devient vieux (pour ma part !) et on découvre la niche… 🐶😄 C’est Oud Bouquet 🌹qui m’a fait tomber dedans… et quelques vidéos dont les vôtres, parce que j’ai des goûts parfois similaires aux vôtres. Maintenant je suis foutue… 💸💸💸

a close friend from high school kissed my hand on our night out with a group (uni days) I previously sprayed Chanel Chance(I could tell he smelled the fragrance), since then he always kissed my hand (when saying goodbye:) and I always sprayed it with Chance before going out with our group :)

I wouldn’t be able to keep bottles that reminded me of ex boyfriends and my old life 🤣I don’t even go near them in shops to remind me of the smell. But the ones that have nothing to do with boyfriends, I like to be reminded of those. Unfortunately all of them smell a bit cheap and harsh to me now that I developed a better taste (I hope, lol). So I don’t keep bottles of those either.
C est tellement vrai. Les parfums sont liés à de bons et mauvais souvenirs. Je ne saurais plus porter Sea Mimosa car j ai passé de très mauvaises vacances en le portant alors que je l'adorais avant.
Candy Prada est mon parfum doudou. Je le ressens des que je peux et même si je ne sais expliquer pourquoi il me réconforte.
Et Love de Chloe était mon parfum des Anne's d'univ :)

Bonjour Clémence, quel plaisir de te retrouver cette semaine et de visionner cette video. Pour ce printemps, j’ai ressorti mon baiser volé aussi 🥰 je l’adore ! J’ai acheté Terracotta de Guerlain que j’aime bien mes les notes de jasmin et de fleur de Tiaré dominent sur ma peau à l’application, et j’ai l’impression de sentir « la vieille » 😩😩
Sinon, je commence à beaucoup apprécier les senteurs poudrées, surtout depuis que j’ai découvert Lipstick Rose de Frédéric Malle 😍 comme j’adore l’odeur de la violette, j’envisage de m’offrir Insolence de Guerlain. 💜 Que penses-tu de cette fragrance ?
Insolence c’est un classique pour moi, d’ailleurs je le trouve vraiment sous cote , il est envoûtant !
Et dommage pour le Terracotta 🥲
@@clemenceccfragrance Oui Insolence est vraiment incroyable ! Sur ma peau il a une bonne évolution et il a l’air de bien projeter 😅. Malheureusement pour Terracotta, je suis un peu déçue par rapport à ma peau que les notes me dérangent à l’application. J’aime bien avoir des parfums qui me plaisent tout au long de leur composition sur ma peau… tant pis, je le donnerai à ma meilleure amie qui le porte beaucoup mieux et quotidiennement 👍🏻

Clémence, I hate Prada l'Homme. I know, I know, apparently everybody loves it, but my stomach can't stand it.
So, my question is: which other fragrances should I avoid if I dislike Prada L'Homme?

Don't worry Paulo it's not because everybody loves a perfume that you should wear it!
If you dislike this one, avoid any fragrance with a too focus Iris note, and anything powdery in general
