It has taken over 49 years for me to figure out, and going on 3 years unemployed and feeling hopeless, but YUP - this appears to be me. It is so demoralizing when doctors dismiss your mental suffering because you are just too well spoken and educated and managed to keep it 'together' professionally for many years. It is so demoralizing when doctors tell you to your face that they believe that you are lying when the very trauma that you are trying to heal from is seated in a deep fear of being disbelieved and judged.

I related to this way way much more than what I thought I would, so much I nearly started crying.

Thanks for making this video. It's very insightful. The part about the split in psyche while going through complex trauma stood out to me. It seems like this affects much more people in way more than they realised. Please continue to make these vids, we all need to learn more about it. :)

Wow... Tbh I wasn't going to watch this one. Glad I did though. The section about "Emotional Anorexia" hit pretty close to home. Strangely I started getting sleepy. As a kid I would go to sleep if things felt too much for me. Maybe tapping into some realization triggered this. I was always a nice, animal loving person. At some point I became an angry person though. Nobody respected my kind demeanor and stepped all over it as though that was the default response to such behavior (kindness=weakness). I guess I never figured that these angry moments of mine had some kind of "psychology name". I kind of miss being that person but such thoughtfulness feels wasted on those that don't even recognize the effort.

I can’t focus on the content of this video due to the bizarre background elevator music, and the computerized voice. No music is needed, and a human voice would make a big difference. It’s such a shame because this seems like a very insightful video, but it’s impossible to listen given the way it’s presented.
