    The things that makes employees look forward and outward looking, for them to have a decent shelter to live, and a way of life that is quality packed and humanely treated and not abandoned. One of many qualities of life and existence that many supports.

    Its good to have shelters that withstands tests of time, it is what they call engineering standards that realized the optimum in quality and quantity. They don't wobble, shatter that easy, proof standards such as termite, tornadoes, hurricane, earthquake proof since 0 casualties and safety features are packed inside every stack of the container, it is affordable for the qualities are able, and not cheap as many have perceived. It is a type of class that suits perfectly the quality of a class deserves.

    *The "homeless" problem in coastal areas (LA, San Francisco, Seattle, etc) can be solved overnight and cheaply with this ingenious way of minimal construction.*

    Hopefully these will be common in the UK, all the houses over there are unfairly expensive.

    Very cool, I wonder where they real containers from ships or were they built for that used to be converted into homes.

      If you look at the sidewalls you dont see any dents so I think for this project they used (as ) new ones.

    Tract apartments, alá mode. The kind of housing a large business would put up for on-site students.

    You showed some container homes in a vid before, but they were about to be torn down to make room for newer/better container designs... is this the same place?

    • @dutchurbanminer
      @dutchurbanminer  9 лет назад

      No , this is another city , the older vid was made in Delft , with those ,, space boxes '' made of glassfibre , leaking at the edges , soon to be replaced by real shipping thingies like these ones.

    at least you can say that the entire structure is steel based excellent

    • @dutchurbanminer

      Earthquake proof , 101%...

    • @chayheramirez8471
      @chayheramirez8471 7 лет назад

      +dutchurbanminer only if they're welded together. and even then the contents inside of the containers can still shake and move and be destroyed but not the actual structure and building itself will not be harmed during an earthquake. so the building is earthquake proof but not the contents inside

    • @waynealan2226
      @waynealan2226 6 лет назад

      In a "slip fault" earthquake where shear forces of a 6.0 quake or higher simple welds will not hold especially considering the mass of these units. It would take several types in interlaced reinforcement to insure earthquake proof buildings in a 6.0+ quake. Post Loma Prieta quake in California 1989, standards previously though sufficient upon inspection were found to have cracked nearly every weld above the 3rd floor of steel constructed buildings. The reinforcing of this kind of building would have to be done in such a fashion so as to attach every unit to every other unit along the length of the units and that just isn't possible with completed units. It would have to be "stick built" to assure full earthquake resistance above that of the potential quake in the area.

      There are many components to creating an amazing design. One plan I discovered that successfully combines these is the Magic Container Plans (google it if you're interested) definately the most useful info i've seen. Check out this unbelievable website.

      The problem is we all want to live in a big city , and more and more young people want to spend their money on other things then rent or mortgage.

      dutchurbanminer There buildings remind me of the Khrushchevkas in Russia. They were built with panels and they they were given free to citizens. They were built only during the soviet times and now are not maintained well as in Poland, for example. If you restore them (or at least paint) they will look modern and beautiful! I think containers can be used by our government to give homeless people free apartments (about 2-3 containers size). Apartments in khrushchevkas are about 3 time as big as in Amsterdam. But what makes them similar is that they are both 5 floors high XD!

      dutchurbanminer I suggest to look at socialist buildings in any E.U. country (except Bulgaria and probably Romania). In all these countries most of them were restored and look very nice even today! You can find them literally just by looking at almost any city from google earth. They are usually located a in the end of the cities and are in some kind of micro regions where only this type of buildings stands. They also in most cases have flat roof.
