Love that you show the good and the bad. Plants dying or not turning out how we would have hoped is part of the journey. Nice to see it happens to the best as well!
I love your videos....no longer able to garden due to health, but I am happy to see your beautiful plants and trees....your home, and gardens and trees, even your chicken coup is so neat and pretty.....love your sweet voice.....🙂
I know you often worry about making videos too long, but I have to tell you, I was SO excited to see this video this morning. This couldn’t be more perfect for us this morning. It’s a cool rainy day in Northern MD. Curling up to watch now!
I actually did a little dance when I saw “Garden Tour” I LOVE the long videos 🙌🏼 Also, you’ve mentioned in the past not wanting to show certain parts of the garden that aren’t perfectly buttoned up, but I really appreciate when you do! It can be so easy to get discouraged when things don’t work out in the garden like we want. I’m so happy that you’re honest about your gardens progress year to year. There are always “oops” moments, but there’s also endless opportunities to try something new.
Love how you show the failures as well as the successes. For new gardeners it is encouraging to think that even professionals can have plants die or not grow as they are supposed to.
I have a feeling you don't like picnic tables, but I think that area between the vegetable garden and cold frame seems kind of work/play informal, so making the grass a little neater but keeping it open so that maybe a nice picnic type area and play type area for a few years for Benjamin to station while you are working the veggies and/or the cold frame just seems a natural way to go for now.
I agree with keeping the grass. Round up the edges a bit and keep it simple. Can Ajuga grow in your zone? That might be a pretty ground cover for the areas where the little bit of grass is removed.
I don't know where you get all of your energy! My husband is working from home, 4 kids - doing distance learning now, a velco dog (GSP) and 2 acres to upkeep and we are all pooped! HAHA! I saw a playset and thought it was Benjamin's but it was your neighbor's!. You have lots of room for a fun play spaces for him now. Thank you for your Gorilla Cart review a while back. I finally got one! My husband attached it to our John Deer zero turn mower and took the kids for a fun ride! HAHA! That's how we have fun out in the country and to make things fun during quarantining!
Yes, love the idea of a rose garden. That was my mother's favorite plant. I would live to incorporate them into my space but would love your input first. Looking forward to your rose garden project.
Garden pests are never ending. Could you bring yourself to set a live trap? Carrot and celery sticks, apples and peanut butter apparently will attract gophers. We have a big problem with raccoons; ripped out at least 6 newly planted tomatoes😫. We did manage to trap 1.
What a great way to start my day. Laura you have more energy and enthusiasm for working in your gardens than anyone I have ever seen. You always make me want to get outside right now and do something. I am almost 73 and John is 77 so it takes us longer to do stuff than it used to but we still love it😊❤️😊

WoW ! WoW ! You are one energized bunny ! Where do you get all your energy from ? Your landscaping is beyond wonderful, beautiful ! It just blows my mind watching you ! It soo nice how the two of you work together . I’ve been gardening for 30 years and I still learn by watching you ! I’ve never had the opportunity to do all your doing, but it is fun looking, watching so many of your projects ! WoW ! I can just feel your loving joy in creating it all ! What a blessing to behold 🙏✝️ 🌺. THANK YOU 😊🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶
I wouldn’t miss watching your videos ANYTHING!! This is SO exciting! Years ago I worked on a truck garden on my property, my first large garden! My husband, he didn’t know better, had a truck of manure delivered and allowed the person to dump it in one spot rather than spreading it-lol! We spent several weekends spreading it ourselves, rakes in hand, wellies on, fighting off black flies! What an experience!!
If you want a formal appearance on the new brick path area, I would put in boxwood hedging. At least on the corner opposite the current one. Your property is amazing. Aaron thank you for the sky views they really do help to orient me. Thank you for sharing. Stay safe.
Laura, loved the garden tour....truly beautiful. Do you have landscape lighting through the gardens? Would love to see a video with the lighting at night, sure it would be beautiful. Thank you. Your hard work and love for your gardens are shining through! Aaron the videos are amazing 😉 thank you too.... such a great team. My favorite video of all time has to be the peaceful rain garden tour.
Wow! Just wow! You’ve done so much. I agree, planting a hedge to flank that walkway would look incredible. I notice when you walked past the birch tree, the nodes look like smiling faces. Day made!
Hello Laura, I've been a fan sjnce 2016. You were mentioned in one of the garden store's IG account. Since discovering your channel, I have been looking forward to your daily videos. What sets you apart from all the gardening channels is how you present your videos. They are very informative, fun and most of all the clarity of the video and audio is excellent! It makes someone really watch whatever you post. Thank you for being an inspiration to every gardener out there!
Really enjoyed this garden tour! Funny enough, I happened to rewatch a 2016 garden tour from your last house and in that video you say “I won’t bring home sick plants at my next garden!” 🤣 so when you mentioned the sick Japanese Maple you revived, I had a chuckle
So much be beauty and colour ... I have to say though those tulips around to chicken coop and the house 🏡 are just stunning Laura. It’s truly a pleasure at seeing these garden tours ... I love seeing different varieties of plants and you surely do show these in your videos ... and to Aaron those airily shots are A.M.A.Z.I.N.G well done. 🍃💚🌺💚🌷💚🌼💚🍃 O.m.gosh I’ve just noticed 35 people gave this video a 👎🏼 they must be crazy. SMH 🤦♀️
Loved the tour, writing from France where our weather has been very warm, now a little rainy, which we needed badly. It is interesting to see how advanced some of your plants are, our tulips are all done for example. Our hostas are barely out of the ground... You are very inspiring and your energy is contagious! After watching your videos, I always feel energized and ready to garden! You asked about the boxwood hedge, I would keep it one-sided, on the house side only, as a low wall around the perimeter of the house. Mirroring does not seem necessary because you already have the gravel path as a linear shape on the outer perimeter, it would be too closed, making it too labyrinth-like, distracting from the plants... just my thinking...good luck on all the big projects!
What a treat! This was awesome! You are thanking us for watching and I am thinking WHAT??? Thank you! So much education and the ideas are tremendous. By far my favorite channel. Seriously By far!
My goodness, April is beautiful at your home! I am so enjoying watching what’s happening at the new property. Thank you for continuing to share; I never miss a video! xo
Loved the long tour!! Thank you! I vote "no" on mirroring the boxwood hedge. I think it may end up feeling closed in. I envision the left side benefitting from a softer collection of perennials. I say that in spite of my preference for the balance of symmetry. You will make it lovely, regardless of the approach you choose. Grateful for all the inspiration!
Your energy always amazes me. I wish you luck with the new project and hope you keep things in small chunks. So you don’t feel like you have bitten off too much.
Very lovely garden all around! It’s great to see the beautiful and pretty plants but also hear about your challenges and how you over come them. Blessings to you and your family 💚😀💐🙏
Such a wonderful tour!! Loved it! For thought . . . You might consider embedding a survey question in the video when you want feedback. The point at which you ask what our opinion is of mirroring the boxwood hedge on the other side of the walk is a prime example. It’s a quick yes/no response, and it also lets respondents quickly see what others are thinking. Another beautiful video. Thank you!!!
finally, after a day of working in our own yard/gardens, hubby and i sat down to watch this one together on the tv... and worth the wait!! (altho it was hard for me to miss my morning coffee date with Laura!)... such a gorgeous property - some day you should do a "when we moved in vs how it looks now" video - the amount of work y'all have done since moving in is astounding!! and the beautiful place you have created... i know you love it, and i'm sure your parents are so proud of the gardener/landscaper/designer you've become!! so much done and still so much to look forward to! and us fans appreciate you taking us along for the ride every day
The contractors that you work with are artists. They each seem to do,such lovely work. Wish we had more like them in the city! I like the concrete under the brick that hold the containers along the fence. It looks like a beveled edge and makes it look more formal. I’d leave the grass under the willow. Create new lines that please you but it’s a great place for Benjamin’s to play and grass feels lovely under bare feet.
Usually I would say go ahead with a symmetrical boxwood by the new walkway but because the new walkway is not as wide (like 5’ to 8’ wide), I think another boxwood would cast a lot of shadow and make the area dark. This is the type of corner that you want to keep wide open so that one can see the view at the end of the walkway. Btw, try to keep the pots outside after you plant your tulips. I planted some after you planted yours in a pot and they are glorious. Thanks for the tour!
I think bringing the grass out in a circle by the Willow would be beautiful! I love the look of the Willow with grass. Everything looks great! Have fun!!
Everything is looking so pretty. Love this time of year when all the trees and plants are waking up from their winter nap. The weeping willow is beautiful. I think I would extend the grass out around the tree into the driveway. Curve the edges at the cold frame end. Perfect spot for a pretty small table with benches to sit a rest a spell. Benjamin can throw a blanket and play in the shade while y’all are working. New property is coming along nicely. Such a fun place for you to play with new plants in. A storage building would be nice in the corner to have extra bags of dirt and things needed on your new playground. I think the space where you are considering a hedge would be nice either way. I kinda like that you can see the plants when walking to the area from the other side of the house. If you had a hedge added there, it would hide those beautiful plants. Thanks for the long video. I so enjoy seeing all the pretty things on your land. Drone shots are awesome. I pause the video and get the lay of the land figured out with these shots. Missed seeing Benjamin. He would have picked those 🍓🍓🍓 that were ready to eat at your new pear tree. Good job Aaron for surprising Laura with the new pear tree. It looks so pretty in that little corner. Have a Happy Day y’all. ☀️🌷🐝
Love the tours! Just want to thank you and Aaron for the wealth of information you both have provided. I'm finding myself going to shop for flowers and I am able to identify flowers before reading the tag, decide whether it's the right fit for what I already have and if I have the time to maintain it. I'm starting to scare myself with all this subconscious knowledge I have. Lol. All due to watching your videos for the past 2+ years. Thanks again!
I would mirror the box woods on the other side of the new brick pathway. I love to see your excitement and love for your property. We may be spending lots of time at home this summer, may as well be safe on your own property and love it. I love your videos. ❤️
I absolutely would mirror the boxwoods. But not 100 percent if that makes sense. Just the part that's already edged on that opposite side plus one or two around the curve. This was suuuuch a great tour! Thanks for taking the time to do this.
I have never been more excited about other people's garden, LOL. I can't wait to see what you do with the new property. I still look back on your parent's garden tour and just love how everything comes together so seamlessly
the crab apple tree is beautiful. I love the tour, so inspiring. I am trying to re-plan our backyard, watching your videos so many ideas pop into my head. I am so grateful for your channel, thank you for all the work you do to make your video so fun to watch.
Laura, thanks for the tour! I love the patch of grass between the veggie garden and the cold frame. I hope you can keep most of it. I would like to suggest a video on host plants for certain insects. Also, have you considered in your new space a native plant garden? Thanks again for all you guys do!
I appreciate you noting your “fails” with such matter of fact honesty. I was hoping that you would have acknowledged the hen which was needing attention... maybe next time. Beautiful yard. Beautiful boundaries. Lovely.
I love that last grassy area next to the greenhouse coldframe just as is. It reminds me of a classic backyard, I think it gives a little peak into simple living and it’s fun to have a little patch just to leave alone and let it feel simple. It makes me think of how you talk about magical spots in gardens where there is something special where you wouldn’t expect. I was happy to see this cute, simple, “normal,” patch of untouched grass. It just reminds me of my childhood growing up in Oregon. My aunt had a weeping willow where we would play and lounge around that was just beautiful and comforting when I was a kid in the 80s up here in the willamette valley. Maybe it could be nice to leave it as is. I do understand wanting to change everything up though, it’s fun to create our yards as we dream.
Laura, now that you have added more land to your property have you considered giving your place a stately name? I am sure viewers would love to offer suggestions.
Oh please! No “stately name”. Theirs’ is a lovely, welcoming family home in the middle of farmland dotted with relaxed housing developments. “Stately names are affected enough in the middle of Philadelphia’s Main Line or New York’s Westchester County!
@@iamziano The name Leboutillier is rooted in the Old French translation a "bouteiller," a name for someone who was in charge of the wine cellar. This person was generally the head of the servants, the administrator of the estates, and held considerable power.
This was a really fun and exciting tour. Thank you for sharing your thought process with us on your decision-making - it's so very helpful. I'm slowly working on a 10-acre property and I can't tell you how helpful and inspiring your videos are to me.
Gorgeous! Aaron and Laura, have you ever thought of incorporating some sort of "nature playground" for Benjamin and any other little friends he might have over in the future? You asked us last year or so if people had any ideas and I don't know what answers you got, but a "nature playground" would really work well with your aesthetic. You would help give viewers who are young parents some ideas on how to include fun kiddish things into a yard without resorting to buying those standard play sets. Keep up the awesome work you guys! You're on fire!!
Thanks for such a great video, you make it so interesting that it only felt like 15 minutes. I can't wait to see what you have in store for new projects in your new garden area.

Your property just gets more beautiful every year. It is a inspiration to everyone!
Stay safe.
I love watching you take a open space and plant the trees to start the new landscape.
I took my time and watched throughout the day, and I LOVED every minute!!!!
Wow! Just wow! You’ve done so much. I agree, planting a hedge to flank that walkway would look incredible. I notice when you walked past the birch tree, the nodes look like smiling faces. Day made!
OMG - you can talk all day about your garden & I could listen to you all day! You're adorable
Hello Laura,
I've been a fan sjnce 2016.
Wow! I want to watch this all over again. I was so excited to see this was going to be long. Beautiful property/gardens.
Really enjoyed this garden tour! Funny enough, I happened to rewatch a 2016 garden tour from your last house and in that video you say “I won’t bring home sick plants at my next garden!” 🤣 so when you mentioned the sick Japanese Maple you revived, I had a chuckle
I love that video! I think I've watched it at least 15 times. I love the colors!
🍃💚🌺💚🌷💚🌼💚🍃
O.m.gosh I’ve just noticed 35 people gave this video a 👎🏼 they must be crazy. SMH 🤦♀️
Aaron turning on the water was halarious
Danica Case I also laughed at that! Totally something my husband would do😉
Loved the tour, writing from France where our weather has been very warm, now a little rainy, which we needed badly.
The pallet walkway is my favorite place in your whole garden! So glad that you kept that! It's so beautiful!
Very lovely garden all around! It’s great to see the beautiful and pretty plants but also hear about your challenges and how you over come them. Blessings to you and your family 💚😀💐🙏
I LOVE these long garden tours , I just get cosy up in the couch with a cup of coffee and enjoy watching all the pretty flowers 💜🌱
Fabulous video. Thank you Laura and Aaron
Love the garden tour and thank you Aaron for the lovely drone shots.
Question: now that you have the extra land are you going to consider an orchard?
I think she is. She bought a lot of trees recently ruclips.net/video/P-bXYF8Myik/видео.html
the crab apple tree is beautiful. I love the tour, so inspiring. I am trying to re-plan our backyard, watching your videos so many ideas pop into my head. I am so grateful for your channel, thank you for all the work you do to make your video so fun to watch.
Are the tulips that didn’t come up considered dead bulbs now or is there a chance that they’ll bounce back next spring?
Laura, thanks for the tour! I love the patch of grass between the veggie garden and the cold frame. I hope you can keep most of it. I would like to suggest a video on host plants for certain insects. Also, have you considered in your new space a native plant garden? Thanks again for all you guys do!
Wow! This is gonna be an exciting year! 😊
I love the new ideas and property. I cant even imagine having something that big
I appreciate you noting your “fails” with such matter of fact honesty. I was hoping that you would have acknowledged the hen which was needing attention... maybe next time. Beautiful yard. Beautiful boundaries. Lovely.
I appreciate the fails as well.
"Jardin de LeBoutillier"
'De LeTerre'
Oh please! No “stately name”. Theirs’ is a lovely, welcoming family home in the middle of farmland dotted with relaxed housing developments. “Stately names are affected enough in the middle of Philadelphia’s Main Line or New York’s Westchester County!
How about "These Ones Garden" ;) hahaha I love her.
Those tulips look amazing. You have inspire me to start plant bulbs and I am starting in pots
I have my coffee and I'm ready for this rainy Sunday morning treat!
Thanks for such a great video, you make it so interesting that it only felt like 15 minutes. I can't wait to see what you have in store for new projects in your new garden area.
I have waited for this. I won't skip a single ad. Oh my!!!! THANK YOU!!!!!!
The new property is so exciting, and I'm so grateful you were able to add it to your home. Thank you for including us in this special time in your lives, and showing us what you will be doing along the way.
I love multiple trunk trees also! Yes mirror the boxwoods
I jumped so high when you did!!! I have such joy seeing you all interact and how beautiful you made your yard. God bless you all.
It's tea time and Garden Answer at the same time 💖
I would place more boxwoods to mirror like you stated. I’m a symmetrical person. The garden tour was just beautiful!
