Laura, a quick idea for your rug to save it for another year or two. I have a similar one and I took paint and re-applied it to the areas that were getting worn. It works great if the structure of the rug is still solid. It's a great indoor project that is very relaxing. It has given me several more years of use and didn't cost me anything except my time. Hope this suggestion helps!

Samantha & Benjamin did a really nice job. Benjamin was careful on the step stool and did a good job of decorating. Nice they helped so they take ownership of the decorations, have fun with Mom and enjoy the holiday preparations. Beautiful work Laura. Even Russell approves!

you could always scotchguard the pillows. would make it easier to wipe them off of any debris but for the benches, you could wrap bricks things in wrapping paper and do a "cornucopia" style spilling over of gifts from the benches onto the floor in front of the trees
Only a couple of RUclipsrs play actual Christmas music anymore while putting up Christmas decorations. I gotta say it does not put me in the Christmas mood. The trees are gorgeous. I had my outside tree with no ornaments but now I have another job, putting red bulbs on my outside tree with bow, ribbon and ornaments I already have. Thanks Laura for sharing.

Small edible CANDY CANES! Two boxes would be enough to put all over the entryway trees. But you probably would need to buy more as the canes disappear from the tree. There are some that are wrapped individually so hanging is easy and looks nice, too. Santa brings these every year to our family Christmas tree and hangs them while we sleep as he brings the presents in - has for over 80 years in our family. I also think the live trimmed garland would look pretty under the beautiful pot centering the door but out front away from the door. Just green laying around the base. Wow, your simple look is REALLY pretty!

I decorated my trees for years with ice cycles lights on green cords. It was so fast and simple to do. I don’t know why anyone wouldn’t. Gayle
