    U need to change the thermal pads and thermal paste in it and undervolt it. It runs just fine after that. Also all the other laptops have same issue same chip smaller coolers razors is one of the biggest coolers. U need to use razors balance power mode in synapse an max fan speed use x86 tuning utility. I have the blade 14 2021 with the Ryzen 9 5900hx it was hitting 100c when I got it now it sits in the mid 80’s. Mx-6 thermal paste and grizzly thermal pads 1.0mm. Worked wonders. Was topping out at 4.1ghz and after it hit 4.6ghz

I watch a lot people and see there testing i think we are reaching thermal limits on these newer chips hopefully end this year or same time next year when the new Ultra series comes out it will produce similar power with less wattage. I also do a lot undervolting and tinkering under the hood. I try different ram kits differernt thermal applications. The new blade you and I are testing is using the Honeywell phase change material and it takes it a good 10-15 mins for it to turn into a liquid. I do enjoy razer spicing it up.

    Which RAM are you using in the Razer Blade? Is it 32GB or the 96GB RAM?
    I want to buy the macbook pro 14 inch 2023 128gb ram 8tb version, do you think the razer blade can give same mobile performance as the macbook pro maxed out.

    • @consumertechwarehouse
      @consumertechwarehouse  6 месяцев назад +2

      32gb. Lol your name is appleman so just go with the Mac. But it depends. As a laptop with better speakers and battery, the MacBook. If GPU performance is most what you care about, Blade is still better. For CPU performance, either one. But the MacBook is probably still better because it performs similarly but uses way less power to do that.

      You don’t need to use alcohol based wipes. You probably shouldn’t actually. I use this amzn.to/3SyItiM
      Also this amzn.to/48eQA9T
      The second link is camera cleaning equipment but the brushes and spray work well in keeping electronics clean. So it’s more expensive. But I use the second one to clean my laptops every time before filming.

    I have an issue with this exact model that when I switch the display from Nvidia Control Panel from “Auto Select” to “GPU Only” or when it switches automatically via advanced optimus when launching games, the screen gets dim a little bit at the same brightness level as it was on integrated graphics. Are you facing any such issue or have you noticed it?

    I’d like to see you review the new SCAR with 2000 dimming zones. I just got the Blade 16 with mini led yesterday, and there definitely is noticeable bloom way outside areas. Like the greyish back of Reddit and as you scroll, you kind of see a wave effect all the way across. In HDR, it’s more noticeable and I tested a uhd hdr movie and the blacks were crushed at times and you’d see weird lines/blocks of “red ish”in corners or the aspect ratio border at top or bottom. I’m not just a fan of the over compensating RGB of the SCAR or it’s plastic look. And for the record, I do have the AUO panel. I ordered the same Blade but with oled to use side by side and return the other to Best Buy. I do like how bright and clear the screen is overall, but it’s those blooming/etc trade offs that are distracting.

  • @kDackDack

    I have the mini led 16. It is beautiful and bright for gaming, but terrible for daily work tasks. It has blooming and horizontal stripes appear when scrolling, especially when dark and bright areas meet, and I prefer dark mode on Windows so that's worse. I would definitely prefer the OLED option but it's not available in the mercury model.

    • @consumertechwarehouse
      @consumertechwarehouse  6 месяцев назад

      Yeah that’s a shame. I had that mini led and I don’t remember the horizontal stripes.

    I never realized how thick the top bezel was above the screen. The OLED seriously looks shoehorned into the existing blade chassis. The protruding plastic bezels do not look good. I didn't even realize it was OLED until it caught some reflections. The plastic around it was so cheap and distracting. That's why I always prefer seamless edge to edge glass. The zephyrus G14 and G16 have them and the black bezel melds with the screen and is a whole lot cleaner and more modern. I've always wanted a razer blade purely because of its small footprint and overall build quality, but I've always thought it looked ugly. The newer models are even chunkier and look like bloated versions of the old design. They really need to hide the chonk better. Many thicker laptops actually look more streamlined.

    How about the brightness and glossy aspect of the screen? Is is good enough to use in bright rooms settings? I don't mean outdoors in direct sunlight. I have bought mini led razer but comsidering to exchange it for oled. I generally like matte display. Nice run down. Also surprising to hear about the fan noise in quiet mode as the 2023 versions with last generations i9 were relatively quiet in both quiet and balanced modes. Do you think it’s a fair statement to say that a last generation Razer with a comparable cpu and 4080 would be more quiet than this oled model with the 4080? Relatively quiet gaming laptops with still decent performance is still a huge priority of mine and Razer seems to really be hit and miss in that regard depending on generation. 2023 was a good year for quiet/balanced mode gaming razers. My other question is are there any noticeable design differences between the 2023 and 2024? I love the Razer design and build quality regardless but I’m just curious.

    • @consumertechwarehouse
      @consumertechwarehouse  6 месяцев назад

    I got the Legion 9i 2024 now and returned Blade 16 Oled. In my case, Legion 9i is the superior device.
    - Much better typing/keyboard; I didn't have any problems with the palm rest as I was afraid I would, it's perfect for me. With the keyboard being pushed down for gaming, depending on your position (e.g. on a Sofa), you may need some time to adjust though. Blade keyboard might be actually a bit too far away in certain situations.
    - Prefer to have the screen higher (it's on top of the chassis), better ergonomics for my neck
    - Better versatile screen IMO
    -> The Blade 16 was too reflective with its glossy finish, and the brightness couldn't handle the slightest amount of daylight at home or from light sources, which became annoying during games or movies with dark scenes. I had it next to my glossy MacBook in a variety of conditions. The MacBook was less reflective and handled brighter light sources better (brightness helps a lot here).
    ->The Legion 9i's higher resolution makes it still look crisp even though it has a matte coating (Blade looked great here with a glossy coating even at lower resolution), both the coating and its brightness make it less prone to glare, yet it still looks great in games and movies. Best implementation of Mini LED I have seen so far, nice vibrant colors and blacks for not being OLED.
    -> OLED has its limitations when you can't go beyond 500 nits in brighter conditions, especially a problem for laptops if you want more flexibility in where you work or play.
    -> HDR is more impressive at the Legion 9i when it comes to colors, high brightness level really helps in general... but with the contrast, OLED always wins
    -> At night, however, which is when the Blade excels, the contrast is better due to the OLED, which looks nice, and the glossy screen is better when you're playing in very dark conditions (and yes, no blooming). In perfect conditions... I just love OLED and will miss it sometimes for sure ;) Motion clsrity is superb as well.
    - Better performance for the Legion 9i 2024, even more when you get the 4090 version for the same price as the 4080 Blade with discounts which you can get easily
    - The touchpad on the Blade is nice and large, but it defeats the purpose if the palm rejection is not handled well. Clicking on the touchpad feels better on the Legion; it's too resistant to click on the Blade. The touchpad on the Legion 9i could have been bigger. Neither touchpad is perfect, but I prefer fewer accidental clicks.
    - I love the unique design and build quality of the Legion, it's nice to grab as well; the Blade also has a great chassis, build quality is a little better and it's more elegant, but I don't like to grab the Blade as much because of the way it's built and how the material is made, if you know what I mean; it also has sharp edges. I like them both, but it's nice to have something more unique for a change.
    - RGB implementation is better on Legion
    - The Blade 16 gets hotter after longer periods of AAA games and maximum use; it's kept quite cool for the first hour.
    - Blade 2024 4080 fan profiles somehow got worse, even Balanced is very loud! Legion 9i on balanced is much quieter while maintaining a similar performance relatively to the Blade. However, Legion 9i on performance is the loudest of all...
    - Legion 9i is also quieter on light tasks
    - I know now that the Blade 16 4090 is quieter because due to its die size, the 4090 generates less heat
    - If Razer Blade 4090 is the same price, it's really a tough decision...
