@@S.L.S-407 @SLS What? What does that even mean? Obviously the helmsman was the skipper of the boat; why would it be a "pilot from Monaco"? This is a small recreational yacht at a Port Hercules, not a tanker in Suez. It's always the yacht captains who berth the boats, marinas don't have pilots. This was very obvious a mechanical/electronic issue - sensors, a waterjet stuck, whatever - they knew there was something wrong from the start.
Those water jets are absolutely useless in reverse and low speed maneuvering... Separate aft trusters should be mandatory on Mangustas and similar yachts.
Using too much angle and engine revés on the jet drives causing the boat to move far too quickly because of the high amount of thrust. Less revs and smaller, less twitchy movements would have brought her in perfectly. Wind wasn’t the problem, look at the water when docking, its glassy.
Inexperienced captain yes but also those jet drives are absolutely useless in reverse and low speed maneuvering... Separate aft trusters should be mandatory on Mangustas and similar yachts.
For those who say it is the wind, you have no idea what docking with wind is, this is nothing when it comes to docking in bad weather, this is a clear case of a “captain” (I don’t say it easily, I know as a sailboat captain how hard it can be) over correcting with way way to much power, and it was obvious from the first minute when he came into the harbor already way to fast.
The Captain, or whomever it was at the command, should immediately be fired. Hope Esysman sees this and offers his comment and analysis. The wind was not the issue
This was the result of someone who has very little confidence in their docking abilities. This person would nail the throttles without reading the result of each of these inputs before nailing them again and again, and again. Made one think that he or she was playing Pinball. The above being said this was the best darn free show I have seen in a long time. Wind, "what wind"
If you search YT docking with wind or bad weather this video doesn’t show up, bad weather in the maritime world is not what you see here, not even close, simple case of way way to much power, on the water or in the air the biggest mistake is overcorrecting
I’ve never seen such docking on your channel before. Insane and I know that stress but that was bad! Capt better hide and shake it off. That one will stick with you!

I would have fired him as soon as this yacht was anchored and secured .. absolutely CRAZY.. I’m sure he got an ear full from the owners or crew from the yachts on either side too!
I watched the Flags, the T-Shirts, the water surface, the Plants, everything… I couldn‘t see the big bad Wind, so guess the Problem is the qualified Crew and its Captain. 😅 In the End the Lines hang loosely at the Stern and the two Idiots run to the Bow while the boat swings from the left to the right…
On a DJI drone you tell the drone where it should be and the computer does the positioning. I'm surprised they don't have such a system on these high end yachts.
Why is the skipper still blasting away with the thrusters when he has lines ashore and is protected from side winds and currents by the vessels alongside? Also, too many people issuing orders. There must be a serious shortage of qualified and experienced skippers and deck crew in the luxury yacht business these days.
What were those idiots in RIBs doing? The one on the starboard side aft was pushing Mangusta all the time in the yacht on the left side.Another one on the port side didn't notice that the bow escaped. If RIB handelers were any good they should be able to dock the yacht by themselves. The yacht should be just reversing .
Boats this size with waterjet propellers don't have thrusters, but I agree this was some sort of mechanical problem - something in the clutch, or a jet got stuck, or the sensors went awry. I do agree this was definitely caused by a mechanical issue.
@@Agent0range67 What? How is a skipper's competence in question over an incidental mechanical failure unrelated to maintenance - for example, waterjets are infamously failure prone. Boats are always breaking - by that logic to no skipper is competent.
@@cordobes First and foremost this was not incidental failure. How do I know? He was rolling around before he entered between the two vessels before he docked. And lets say it was incidental, it does not matter. The master is still responsible. He could got assistance from the port ribs to push the vessels. They could use the capstans and pull the vessels to its birth. If jet drives fail all the time, why would mangusta equip their vessels with Kamewa water jets? Before departure from a port and through out the voyage, the Master must check the following to ensure that the ship navigates safely: 1. That the hull, engine, drainage, steering apparatus, mooring apparatus, windlass, lifesaving equipment, radio equipment and other equipment and apparatuses are in good condition
Wow, did they just hire a helmsman off the street? Those throttles are being ham fisted. Either full ahead or full astern. Nothing in between. Patience is key when moving a vessel.
Good morning, I watched this old but very interesting video! I think we see a combination of factors, from the breakdown of the steering device to the incompetence of the crew! It's funny and sad to see this
The boss is not on the boat as you see , all tables are closed. Imagine how they cruise till marina 😂😂😂🎉🎉🎉 no boss means much smoke in the air otherwise paradise …anyway lets go and swim ..nice video

An incompetent. alteo what a wind .. she is a yacht that can be maneuvered extremely easily. Just know how to use the thrusters correctly and "look" around what happens
This wasn't just a wind problem. It was a really lousy pilot ❗Great job catching it all on camera Emman.
Thank you mate for your great comments, stay tuned and i'll give your more update this coming Monaco E-Prix Have a good day cheers!
How do you know it was a lousy pilot? Highly unlikely - the marina having three tenders there suggest there was a technical problem.
@@cordobes - It appeared that the captain of the boat was the pilot, not a pilot from Monaco.

I don't think the wind was the issue here 🤔
I agree. The flag between Phantom's satellite domes is barely moving.
You’re right: take a look at the flags…
Lol😂
Me too, I think the prob was d commander 😂
Rather a pair of props, jets much less controllable

the wind was not the problem, the problem is in the cockpit
TOO MANY RICH BOATS
CAPT IS FIRED
The flag on the yacht isn't even moving, this is simply a lousy "captain" IMO.
Bro it’s windy a little bit only , haha 😊
@@emmansvlogfr 1 knot headwind ?
The way I look at it, it's not because of 'too windy' situation! It's about the competency of a captain.....period!!!
this captain was a real cowboy; heavy on the gas!! 🥺

Very bad captain, zero wind also, very bad crew

Captain 's skill 😂, not the wind nor current
Whoever is at the controls needs to go to superyacht captain for some lessons
Fire the captain!
looking at the flags of all the ships there is almost 0 wind, this was just un experience
I dont think the wind was the problem...
lack of coordination, communication, skills, sad day for all the equipage, anyways have agood day cheers!
this is the kind of CAPTAIN THAT WOULD HIT SOMETHING IN THE MIDDLE OF AN OCEAN IN THE FIRST TO LEAVE THE YACHT.
Well said
Looks like captain morgan at the helm
Without a Fly-bridge and with an unrelated captain, luck helped and there was no bad incident
what a desaster that was in a huge spot 🤯
Ridiculous small fenders on the Magusta. And captain didn't have his best moment. 😂
Doesn't it look like the 2 small tenders on starboard are actually pushing the yacht to port in their first two attempts? Or was that the captain?
What do you mean wind, the flags are hanging down.
Just a bad mate.
We call it here in Turkey “this guy -unable to call captain - got his licence from grocery “ unfortunately 🤷♂️
Real expert in the wheelhouse 🫣
I would say the captain can’t steer this boat
Judging by the haphazard appearance of the 'crew', you already knew this would not go well.
Kaptanlık ehliyetini hemen elinden alın😂😂😂
Excesive use of power making the propeller rotation move the boat to port. The crew is not indicating distance.
If I was the owner , next day I would send the capten and his helpers !! Poor boat ((
Think cap was on the turps, there’s no wind issue here only pilot error
Wow, Fantastic, it was like watching a carry on film, me to you , you to me, lol
Schettino was discharged from jail?

Drunk Captain ??? great vid thanks
Maybe he drink too much red wine
"Captain " got only one tool: hammer. And everything he see, he think it is nail.
Not a windy situation, but the jets could be a pita if unexperienced.
These cowboys should go for training. Slow but sure wins the race.😅
Does this boat has no thruster?
No wind, just a cowboy !!!
No wind at all
Does that thing not have thrusters??
You see on the flag how much wind there was 🤣
The Flag of the boat from starboard do not make a flare. What wind are You talkging about?

Some Jet Drives takes full 5 sec between forward and reverse. I know a 2002 112' Mangusta here in Miami. It's really hard to maneuver
All that room, and the captain is still problems, IDK, maybe needs a refresher course.
Captain from Lidl!!!!
The wind is barely blowing.I think this captain started celebrating a little too soon

What wind? The flag on his radar arch isn't even moving, the captain just doesn't have a clue, nor does the crew.
Je peux le dire car j'ai eu un bateau aussi, le vent et le mouvement de l'eau ne sont que de faux prétextes
😂. No wind for sure, all flags are hanging down. Just a bad day in the office…
No bow thrusters?
The guys with the fenders need a promotion.
Quite the cowboy on the helm.
Windy or drunk? Look at the flags and the water, it is almost dead calm...
props are better than jets for boat handling
I hope the captain was fired and now he is cleaning the deck. God help the owner of the boat to know about this incident!
Any prerequisites for a crew job on a yacht ?? Doesn't appear to be .......
The people on board were pathetic the owners need more lessons
Definitely the captain, flew into the harbor, yanked it 90 degrees, over compensated on every move. 3 boats to help on a 100' boat, embarrassing.
3 rubber boats and 5 crews helping docking 😂
All they have is the luck to have money and NOTHING ELSE
Dat was niet de wind hij kan niet goed varen hij gebruikt alles verkeerd
'' I'm Popeye the sailor...''
More crew needed absolute shambles.
What the hell happened here??
I mean, it's obvious that the wind was not an issue.

More and qualify crew. They did not take Appropriate care of stern lines.
Looked like the work of a hopeless skipper an hapless crew. Nothing to do with wind.
