Great video thanks. Not wanting to undervalue the berthing achievement but lack of tidal currents and wind help!
Stayed in the Port Palace on the other side of the road many times, great hotel to watch Super Yachts coming and going.
I find it incredible that anyone thinks its ok to wedge these amazing vessels into such tight spots. Imagine the lack of privacy from neighbouring vessels. I will never have the money to enjoy such a yacht experience but wouldn't ever want to be that close to other super yachts.
I agree, I'd rather stay out in the ocean and go to shore with a tender.. but hey... then you can not show off.....
Props to the deckhands of all three yachts, handling those fenders.
Helped that the Starburst used her thrusters to open up the space a bit too.
Imagine going to all that trouble only to find out it was a disabled parking only.
It's like a trailer park for superyachts
I was going to say that poor people live in slums next to each other.
Every man is the captain of his own Lazy Boy Recliner.😂😂😂
and toilet too!
It’s quite an honour to be surrounded by so many “experts”
Reminds me of when our crazy uncle shows up at the RV park...
good docking, slow and easy.. BUT he has ALL the tools to do it, video systems, many bumpers, stern and bow thrusters, many experienced crew members on his and the other boats, and like the guy below said, no cross winds or currents.. about 35 years ago coming back from mystic to miami beach i tried docking my 20 meter motor yacht in riveria beach marina opposite peanut island (palm beach) with one piling between my boat and the face dock, one time, with massive current and wind, gave up and anchored for the night in lake worth.. there was no space to pick up a bow line and work the boat alongside.. had generators, water makers and so forth so less expensive to anchor rather than break something.. good anchors and lots of chain is essential on a good motor yacht..
Amazing ship handling skill by the Captain and crew
I am somewhat surprised "micro-jets" pumps (those used for Sea-Doo/Jet Ski) are not used for bow and stern thrusters for scenarios like this where small thrust requirements are needed.
Two thumbs up for the captain and crew (all crews) of Eminence!
You should check Hurghada Marina in Egypt and how the commercial cruise captains dock in tighter spaces and in lightning speed but this one is OK though
You don't need a lot of wind when you're trying to reverse a block of flats…
Outstanding captain n crew ……
SO GOOD MANOUVERING,EXCELLENT!!!!!!!!!
Captain Marino Nario
By 16:15, it's clear that she has favorable winds. Still amazing work by the Skipper.
Very very beautiful video, thanks ❤️
Why taking this risk? Just park it out in the open...
just showing off!
Awesome & some fine boat manship !!
Enjoyed the docking.
That’s a tight squeeze for sure. All in all a good job under the circumstances.
Beautiful ship but a little bit over my budget 😂.
But 24 crew for 16 guest?
That's a lot!
Excellent vdo.
Captain should take a bow.
Can't owner afford a bigger slip? 😂
I'm not a boat person so I would ask a question like is the vessel at 0:42 lacking a bow? I mean that can't be the way to describe that boat. How would you define that boat's bow?
That is M/Y Olivia, and it has an X-BOW. The patented Ulstein X-BOW tapered shape is supposed to result in a wave-piercing effect at small wave heights and reduce pitching and bow impact loads in bigger seas. Many Ulstein platform supply and anchor-handling tug vessels utilize this bow design.
Thanks. Much appreciated!

Is it Manarco? Looks well out of me reach?
I’d like the money just spent on bumpers to keep the yachts apart and damage free.💰💰💰💰😬😳
Great rearside entry. Patience, practice and passion with plenty lube and there you go. Party time ⭐️
28 minute video that should have been edited down to 5!
It’s like a trailer park for the wealthy.
Nice job.
? Why do they park the boats SOOO close together? Why would they want to park such an expensive vessel right up on the street? That seems like a major security issue.
Good Job!.
Was it really almost impossible? Could someone explain why because it seems like there was plenty of room to turn the boat around, and just a little bit of a squeeze between the other yachts. No wind, no current... ??
This captain MAY!!!
They need Capain Ron
I'm Ron😂
If anything's going to happen, it'll happen out there.
Is that Judge Elihu Smails?
The papal superyacht?
Docking a huge yacht can be a lot easier than docking a 24' runabout. Electronics do the majority of the heavy lifting. This, however is an extreme situation.
Nice boat. Looks like it should be stern heavy.
La pression que doit avoir ls capitaines en manœuvrent … a Monac si tu rate ta ton coup t’es grillé lol 😅
bow thrusters fore and aft help a lot
Why if the boat.... Starburst....had all the crew there and were operating their thrusters did they not just move over closing the gap to port to allow Eminence a clear path to moor on their starboard side and only have to worry about one side.....where did all the common sense go or am i missing something
quite often the thrusters are pto powered, meaning 30 minutes to get the main engine running, to temp and engage the pto.* the onus is on the vessel manoeuvring to avoid collision, by remaining unpowered the already docked vessel get a no fault insurance claim if damaged.
Starburst did not use their thrusters, Eminence bumped with a fender, giving them the movement that opened the space.
* the electrical generator may have a pto but not be strong enough for the thrusters to work. all the big yachts shown did have generators running.
Harbour Control decides which yachts berth where and advise the Captains on entry to the harbour. It is not a pick your spot situation.
Super easy docking. You just keep backing up until it starts to sound expensive. 🤷🏻
ist sowieso schwachsin, der hafen sollte für solche pötte geschlossen werden, 40m max oder sogar weniger, die können von reede mit dem dingi kommen...
Who owns this
Just needs a bit a hawk tuah :)
Obviously paid by the hour
Hell ...you own a yacht like that and end up in ROW HOUSING on the water.
Crazy, that the Captain was Not stearing outside. Also why in the hell this Box? The ONE Next to Right is way bisher…I would Freak out as an owner
had seomone steering on the side on the 3rd or 4th level coming into the marina.
Plus facile qu'avec un voiler de 12m dans le port de Bonifacio avec 30kn de vent latéral et sans propulseur d'étrave et juste 2 personnes à bord!!
I'm not sure I just witnessed this. Kind of like stuffing 3 hogs in a 2 hog gunny sack!!
The term and the concept of mega yachts turn my stomach. They are testaments to greed and selfishness in a world where children go to bed hungry and do not have access to clean water.
It turns my stomach when all people see is greed and selfishness when they view the achievements of others. Perhaps you can instead think about the massive amount of money being spent on the professionals who build, manage, support, and crew these vessels, who are then able to use that income to support their families.
@@bthull I am totally in favour of free enterprises and wealth. Question: Who needs more than $ 1,000,000 in income every year? If those who can pay more than that on a social symbol or toy were depositing an equal amount of dollars into a social fund to help reduce health care costs and improve the education system. Then, I would clap my hands for them
@@tomarmstrong1281people who own yachts like this often employ thousands and pay a lot of money to payroll taxes etc. their wealth generates a livelihood for many around them. Calling it at a million just limits their ability to grow their portion of the economy. This sort of income generation is also given directly to hard working employees, not the posh executives of charities that grift off of the generosity of others
@@bthullForgive me for saying this. You sound a little biased. No one acquires billions of dollars without the input of thousands, many of whom probably work two jobs at minimum wage. If that suits you, that is your prerogative. It might be an insight into why America has tens of millions who are disaffected and feel disenfranchised enough to want to tear down the American institutions. The ones known as the maga cult, susceptible to every wild conspiracy theory and willing to cast their vote for a would-be dictator. God help America.
@@tomarmstrong1281 oh I’m sorry, I didn’t realize I was speaking with a sufferer of TDS. I wish the best for you.
My wife tried it once. I know have an 18 foot Smoker Craft.
It’s not like parking a car.
The boats next to you will move!
That looks stressful!
like my trying to get inside the love of my life....lol
Nice little toy , what drug lord, or Russian General owns this thing ?
They likely do this regularly.
24 crew to 16 guests...that's some ratio
it's a 24/7 scenario so the crew needs breaks.
and with a cast of thousands.......🙂
$90 million and you have to more like that. I think they have lost it.
Where is the difficulty, on this yacht? Power from monster two engines, bow thrusters, calm sea, capable crew, people from the marina assisting,.....😢
Boat parking is so tight and..well...dumb.
It is very difficult to call this an incredible maneuver,it can even be called a bit amateurish. First of all, the captain should be operating the boat from the windward station,in this case he should be on stbd station, because in crosswinds you always want to keep your boat as close as possible to the windward boat,he does not really need to see the boat on his portside but he was operating the boat from port station and watching the boat on his port and secondly, it is not difficult to dock a yacht with such a powerful bowthurster in relatively calm weather.
Do you ever see the positive?
I agree. Simply bumping your way in isn't exactly spectacular.
@@andrewaway Do you ever see room for improvement by stopping pretending acceptable is exceptional?
And your ship handling experience is?
@@dwillecke 4 years as deckhand,2 years as 2nd officer and 21 years as captain size between 29 to 65 meters.
In commercial seafaring, touching other boats, even with fenders, is bad seamanship😮 Better find another berth.
Love those fenders 🤡🤡🙈🙈
Disgusting loss of money
pfffft! Amateurs!
Just RUDE!
This is not stylish yacht!
That boat is not worth $90 million. $45 at most......
Why wouldnt they have moved the boat to the right of the docking yacht? Could have always moved it back into position
too much drama for NO reason
Below Deck
I did a better job with my boat in half the time.🚣
