I have a small boat 19 foot and when the waves are too high I stay in the intercoastal waterway and just enjoy the day. Even the big boats cannot handle the ocean waves at times. Boating is about enjoying your time on the water.

Boat fires and purposeful floundering have been happening like that since before I ever left Florida (can’t wait to move back btw), in 2003. And yeah it happens on purpose….when I lived up the treasure coast I knew a lot of salvors (who are all living off lended money), who’s boats always seem to catch on fire or sink when they had a rough year. lol. So I am absolutely in the camp this is only just now being caught on camera. Maybe not all are purposefully done, but a whole lot of them are……

55:32 The jetskier is definitely in the wrong. Inlets and Outlets are made to go IN and OUT to reach a marina or harbor, they are basically like a two way street and you are always to remain parallel to the shore on each side. They are not made for idiots on jetskis to do donuts in. Also according to maritime regulations, the smaller vessel with more maneuverability should always give way to the bigger vessel that has less maneuverability.

Americans are over protective and miserable. People lose their house in a hurricane and act like it’s the end of the world, just crying…Filipinos are out swimming in the flood that literally 187’d ten thousand people laughing it off that their life was swept away in a storm, totally positive about it. It really puts things into perspective and how ridiculous we are. Yeah, should you put a life vest on your kid? Yes. Should you call the cops, get DCFS involved and humiliate someone for being an irresponsible parent 🤷‍♂️ I think most people, even bad parents don’t know they’re bad parents or are trying to hurt their kids. They might be from a third world country where life is cheap and short and just honestly don’t know better.

@@cristoforopassaro2219 Did my comment say that it had something to do with the jet ski being small or hard to see? The collision regulations govern the maneuverability of the vehicle. For instance, a sailboat is very difficult to maneuver under sail, but they still need to watch out for larger boats that are under power, no matter where they are. A jey ski can maneuver far quicker and easier than a boat. The boat was not making any unpredictable maneuvers which gives the jet ski ample opportunity to make way.

Watched so many of these, in 2023 and prior years; great to see a year end compilation. I would suggest however, that the main theme of boats that experience trouble or even just unnecessary roughness, is not the inlet itself, although that the very subject of the video. Why is the inlet the way it is? Because the conditions BEYOND THE INLET are inhospitable! You shouldn't be going out into the open water - which is what the inlet takes you to! (duh) - in those kinds of conditions! That is the common theme here. The inlet is just a symptom of what you shouldn't be headed into in the first place.
