We are all for safety, but it may be just a little too much. It may make riders rely on the bike more than trusting their scenes and training. Hey, you are making us miss the PCH. Was that the Mulholland Highway at the 5:37 mark?
Hello there! You guys are incredible motorcycle safety advocates! So your opinions are both welcome and valuable when it comes to topics like this. We agree that this may be more than necessary when it comes to alerting riders - but could be potentially more distracting . And as you mentioned, riders relying on gadgetry more than their own instincts and skill may find themselves in a bad place. Thanks for checking out the video and supporting the channel. Have a safe and happy holiday!
It’s not the tech that makes the ride…your bikes a monster and sure doesn’t need any extra tech to make it fun to ride!! Thx for supporting the channel…
Take a Top of the Line Touring bike and just fix the current tech failures. GPS, looks and feels 2nd rate. Rider connectivity (Bluetooth) surely Honda knows a better way. My 2018 needs phone plugged in and headset blue toothed and sometimes takes a few rounds to get it right. Fix the current problems, where I stop, shutoff, fuel up, restart, connect everything AGAIN, and take off
Omigosh that was not a good scene- motorcycle accidents never are. Hope you had a spectacular Christmas and we wish you prosperous and stress free new year. Mike still hasn’t forgotten about air hockey 🤣
Riiiiigght!??? Our GW was in the shop way too many times since we got it- Reliability is what’s on our holiday moto shopping list! Thanks for your wise comment!
I am 62 and have been riding since I was 18. My last bike was a 2005 Honda VTX 1800n and I loved it. Getting back into another bike in 2025 and I was looking at the DCT Goldwing or the 1250RT but the cost is so incredibly high they won't be getting me as a customer. Looks like a Kawasaki Vaquero may be the ticket and even with the 5-6k in upgrades I plan on I will still be easily under the 30K (Canadian) mark, taxes and all the other nonsense included.
We agree that the Goldwing is one expensive and overpriced bikes on the market. There other bikes on the market that get the job done. No matter what you choose. We wish you many, many safe miles of riding fun. Thank you for watching and taking time to write in-
With Honda's recent reveal of the V3 engine with electric compressor, and the lack of the NT1100 DCT in the US, Honda should give us a 1300cc bike with some of the sensor and adaptive cruise technology along with low maintenance features like shaft drive. Less weight, lower cost, and simpler technology could be the right bike for the right price.
Wow! Good thinking-that idea would definitely fill a market opportunity niche- It will be interesting to see what they do with that new three cylinder engine. We want to thank you for checking out the video and weighing in with a very interesting comment. Let us know if you hear anything else about it.
All they'd have to do is bring back a SERIOUSLY updated ST1300 and they'd have a WINNER!!! I love my 2004 ST but, she's getting rather dated. She's a great ride but I want the features common on modern touring rigs...Things like Cruise Control...Integrated infotainment system with Android Auto/Apple CarPlay...a little more HP...some of the modern rider aids like cornering ABS...
@@DaveC_TN Yes, the ST was a great bike. Honda's had some interesting engines and bikes over the years. The old 4 cylinder Goldwing, the CX v-twin like the Moto Guzzi, the shaft drive inline 4 cylinder CB700 and 900, and the V4 shaft drive VFR1200. I think a new ST or 4 cylinder Goldwing "lite" 1300ish would be nice.

@@MiddleAgeRoadRage Some say you can't put a price on safety. I say the cost should match the aftermarket network. If I can buy a solid third-party product for $300. Honda should not be adding the same basic product to the bike for an extra $1000. Just my 2 cents.
Hey! We are here to protect and swerve! We do love this brand and this community! And we feel so grateful to have your personal support. Honda certainly has the lockdown on technology and development- Wishing you a merry merry week…
I kind of agree with Mike. As someone who has also been in a wreck because of a car hitting me, there was no chance any early warning could have help. And I'm old school too so I don't really want or need this stuff.

I think we could use adaptive cruise, and blind spot detection, but not sure on all the rest of the warning lights al over your dash, they should probably upgrade our dash it's going on 7 years old, love my 2018 but all the competition has gone with the bigger screens and touch screens, but my 2018 DCT tour still puts a smile on my face every time I ride.
The riding is the best part-and there certainly was a time where the current dash was state of the art. But it’s definitely showing its age now. We are so curious to see when items like this will hit production… We thank u for watching and writing- Hope that 2018 brings many more miles and smiles 😃
That is a great question and it's super interesting to note that these technologies have been considered in the past! I have been wanting adaptive cruise control for quite a while, blindside detection, so I’ve been wanting this and yes, what is the cost? I already have my gold wing that I’ve done into a trike and it’s a 22DCT tour, if they come out with this, can we can it be added to existing bikes ? We appreciate you thinking about it. 🤔 Maybe anything helping riders avoid accidents is a good thing…Stay safe out there and thx for watching and writing in! Happy Holidays and merry merry to you!
Interesting. After riding in cars with all the safety whistles and bells I can deal with the safety alerts and braking, especially in city driving. But, I ride motorcycles to relax and enjoy the roads and scenery on two wheels while trying to avoid traffic. I don't want to ride a two-wheeled automated car. I do want a bike that can identify autonomous cars and trucks! We'll see how far motorcycles go with the techno.
So yeah- u are Team Mike all the way on this topic- The car experience is a different mindset altogether- Two wheels 🛞 represents a sense of freedom like no other- Thank you for checking out the video and checking in with your point of view…

Some great questions here... You either hop on the tech train or get left behind. If it's not an upgradable firmware thing, I'm afraid I'm opting for left behind. I've spent my lifetime budget for motorcycles ;-) Happy Holidays guys !

I would say no thanks to a radar system. Would much rather see an update to the bike like getting rid of some of the buttons and putting in a fully customizable touch screen dash and maybe a few body changes to bring it up to date. When I'm on a motorcycle I want to be fully in control of everything Period!!
You're not alone! Lots of folks agree with you about a touch screen - Thank you you sharing you opinions and for watching our video- we appreciate it!

THIS. The DCT box steals quite a few HP. I've got two GL1500's and an old BMW K1200RS. I intended to buy a latest gen wing this coming year, but am now seriously tempted by the BMW K1600 instead; particularly with the recent wing reliability problems. 150HP would steer me back toward the wing.
