Trial and error taught me that you use 2/3's of the pegs, not just 5 and 5. Also, after the heel, keep going until you're ready for the toe. Then simply do the exact same thing as the heel. Hope I helped some confused people!
Thanks to this series of videos and your free Ripple Socks pattern to follow, I've just made my first sock with no problems at all. I love your looms, and your patterns and instructions are amazing. Thank you so much! I'm a huge new fan of all your products. (And own quite a few of them already!)
Yes. Work 2/3rd of the pegs. Half of my board had 26 pegs so I did 9 at each end and left 7 in the middle. The only fault I have with this video is that there is no mention of having to repeat the heel process for the toe. I only realized it AFTER I was at the binding off stage and saw how different the sock in the tutorial video looked. Practice makes perfect!
I agree, I want to know more about the toe. I am guessing that it is just the same again but the videos help so much more than written directions for me. I would love to have a video that has that information.
I like this video.... this is part 2 part 3 tells you about the heal, which is done just like the heal. Theres also part 4 that tells you how to bind off.
My question once you have complete the toe is the sock completely finished do you just bind off and sew up the sock or do you need to knit for a couple of rows. No body ever really tells you how to finish it off
Do you need to wrap more pegs when knitting a larger sock? Or does it remain five and five? I'm thinking that it is 2/3 of the pegs, but I'm not sure... help!
How many rows or inches do you knit before starting the heel, and then how many rows or inches do you knit before starting the toe? Is there a guide for sizing that explains these things? I know it will vary for different sized socks, but there should be an average child, woman, and man sizing.
I have knit about one inch of sock, and in this video she has about 1/2 inch of straight knit done before she starts the heel, is she missing a giant chunk of her sock or will it stretch out??? PLS HELP! Also, fabulous tutorial
Also, why can't I just do a standard decrease (take the wrap off of pegs a&z, put it on pegs b&y, wrap (3 wraps on the last peg), knit off till you reach the desired point? What's with all the lifting and tucking?
When you finish your wraps and start working them off, you then wrap the adjacent stitch (let's say you worked 5-12 and 12 was wrapped. and you then wrap 13.) Is that for security or is that what prevents the traditional holes? Or is it the OTHER wraps you do at each end (about the 6 minute mark) that prevents the holes? Thanks!
Isn't there more parts? We just learned how to do the heel, but how do we do the toe? Do we decrease on both sides then sew up the middle? Or go all the way down to one stitch and then back up? Totally confused here.
where can I get the same type of loom shown in the video? Everything I've found is plastic, and rigid plastic too. I've broken teeth off my plastic KB loom. Anybody got a line on the metal pegs, who manufactures them?
Okay but how do I do it for a bigger sock? Now I’m using 50 pegs do I still wrap five, leave five unwrapped? And wrap five? That doesn’t seem right to me? Do I wrap more???
I know this sounds strange, but can you tell me what to do after this segment? Do I just keep going and knitting all the way around again? I'm sorry, I'm a bit lost now. Thank You.
She doesn't use a kitchener stitch to sew up the toe. She binds off the toe section then stitches overhand 1 thread loop only each side. In the second part of the video after the knit off 2 loops then makes the next peg a 3 loop . I keep telling myself knit a 3, make a 3. I'm 62 yrs.old, need that reminder.
If you're using the flat stitch (which is used in the video) then it's because the flat stich is generally a tighter stitch. Try not to pull the working yarn too tightly and the loops will be looser.
I went to the next video and it skipped right to the toe. I knit as if I'm left-handed but I use my right hand. I can't do it the other way. I'm like this with everything. Since I'm going the opposite way I'm lost. This doesn't make any sense. It seems like an awful lot of people have a similar question yet there's no response from the makers of this video. Wish I hadn't wasted my money and time on a loom now.
knittingboard you say toe exactly as heel. Do you skip the last reinforce heel bit? And at what stage exactly do you do the toe bind off or Kitchener. This important part is not shown.
You show how to do it but you don't explain what these different stitches are for, what it's accomplishing and then the video stops as if the plug was pulled, incomplete videos.
Okay, so if you go to the site, you'll find: "The toe is worked the same as the heel. Work the long row and short row, half of your stitches. Complete both steps." But WHY would you start increasing again? That doesn't make a lick of sense. You should have made a note at the end of the video explaining that, at least.
Yes. You do it EXACTLY the same as the heel was done. Do not change anything. Do it as if you were putting another heel into the sock, same technique and same pegs. It sounds weird, but that's all you do. Then after making your second heel (toe) you sew up the hole instead of continuing on. There's another video to show you how to do that. Hope this helps (I was very confused at first too) The lady in the video definitely should have said all this to avoid confusion!
these videos are great, but super irritating that the whole "toe" thing was not noted somewhere or mentioned during the video. I will say that one thing that Loom knitting has shown me is that i'm not ever going to use a loom again and will instead learn to use needles for this.
Trial and error taught me that you use 2/3's of the pegs, not just 5 and 5. Also, after the heel, keep going until you're ready for the toe. Then simply do the exact same thing as the heel. Hope I helped some confused people!
These instructions are extremely simple and clear! Thank you for making such a helpful video!

IS THERE A PART 3 I AM NEW TO THIS AN LOVE THESE VIDEOS BUT NEED TO KNOW WHAT TO DO AFTER THE HEEL
I agree, I want to know more about the toe. I am guessing that it is just the same again but the videos help so much more than written directions for me. I would love to have a video that has that information.
Great close up and explaination. I love the loom.
I like this video.... this is part 2 part 3 tells you about the heal, which is done just like the heal. Theres also part 4 that tells you how to bind off.
And after that ??
Which video shows you how to knit the foot?Love your videos!
Thank you, it was easy to follow and now I have a nice little sock :)
Wonderful video, helps a lot. Thanks
My question once you have complete the toe is the sock completely finished do you just bind off and sew up the sock or do you need to knit for a couple of rows. No body ever really tells you how to finish it off
Please add or a link on how to finish a baby socks after heal is done
the toe closure is found on, Sock Loom: binding off of loom, by Knittingboard
Do you need to wrap more pegs when knitting a larger sock? Or does it remain five and five? I'm thinking that it is 2/3 of the pegs, but I'm not sure... help!
I’m trying to figure that out too
How many rows or inches do you knit before starting the heel, and then how many rows or inches do you knit before starting the toe? Is there a guide for sizing that explains these things? I know it will vary for different sized socks, but there should be an average child, woman, and man sizing.
So after the last bit of the heel, just loom the rest normally?
How do u do the toes?
Do you do the leg befor or artery
Do you go back to normal stitching after completing the heel? This is my first sock
I have knit about one inch of sock, and in this video she has about 1/2 inch of straight knit done before she starts the heel, is she missing a giant chunk of her sock or will it stretch out??? PLS HELP! Also, fabulous tutorial
love that hook you have there

do you no how to do a tub sock
Isn't there more parts? We just learned how to do the heel, but how do we do the toe? Do we decrease on both sides then sew up the middle? Or go all the way down to one stitch and then back up?
Totally confused here.
Do you continue with flat stitch after heel?
How do you do the toe?
+Karen Peterson -It's the same as doing the heel.
where can I get the same type of loom shown in the video? Everything I've found is plastic, and rigid plastic too. I've broken teeth off my plastic KB loom. Anybody got a line on the metal pegs, who manufactures them?
Cottage looms is all I buy from Etsy. You probably found some by now!
Okay but how do I do it for a bigger sock? Now I’m using 50 pegs do I still wrap five, leave five unwrapped? And wrap five? That doesn’t seem right to me? Do I wrap more???
yes, use half of the number of pegs you are using then divide that by 3 to get the number of pegs wrapped, unwrapped, wrapped
I know this sounds strange, but can you tell me what to do after this segment? Do I just keep going and knitting all the way around again? I'm sorry, I'm a bit lost now. Thank You.
love the video.

Looks hard
I cant find part 4 and 5. Could someone post the links pls?
The heel is only 2 parts. Then you are done with heel, next part is the 'Foot'. Follow those instructions.
its 2/3s the pegs
Never mind the last part it should say after the foot and heel
Can someone tell me why my heel loops are so tight?
If you're using the flat stitch (which is used in the video) then it's because the flat stich is generally a tighter stitch.
Try not to pull the working yarn too tightly and the loops will be looser.

Where are the toe instructions?
The toe is completed exactly the same as the heel.

Bitte in deutsch
(Confusing) where is toe video??? I use iPad and no cc on this so I have no idea what kb said? Kb can you make toe video for us? Pretty please?
How did the yarn get to the corner from the unwrapped pegs at :16?
I fucked up.

Take the word "toe" out of the title as there is nothing here about the toe. Otherwise excellent tutorial.
The toe is worked in the exact same way as the heel. After the foot length has been reached, do the same steps to make the toe.
Ann Bush the same side as the heel too?
Yes. You do it EXACTLY the same as the heel was done. Do not change anything. Do it as if you were putting another heel into the sock, same technique and same pegs. E.M. T. thanks for that ive been looking for toe as well
