- In this episode of The Speed Addiction, my F22 M240i gets a transmission upgrade. I speak about the specifications and driving characteristics of my Pure Drivetrain Solutions Stage 1 ZF 8HP50 transmission upgrade. This also applies to the MK V Supra, M340i, 340i, 440i, 540i, Z4 M40I & X3 M40I, etc.
IT HAS BEEN BUILT TO HANDLE 850 POUNDS OF TORQUE AND 1000 HORSEPOWER TO THE WHEELS.
IT HAS A BILLET CLUTCH HUB
UPGRADED CLUTCHES
HEAT TREATED AND ANODIZED CLUTCH BASKETS

Hi how are you ? I also have forged engine but not sure in the part you said the compression B58 gen 1 is 11:0. They are 11.0:1 and Carrillo pistons are 11:1 that is the same as 11.0:1, correct me if I'm wrong. Yes they are lighter and stronger. Enjoying this build a lot! Congrats!
I believe 11:0:1 is different (lower compression) than 11:0. However, I’m repeating what the engine builder told me and I’m still learning. Thanks for watching.

Tough choice. A highly modified B58 car is reliable but it has has its quirks.
Hi 👋 what about xHp st3 for upgrade st1 pure transmission? It’s ok work or need some custom soft?
XHP st3 is fine but it’s shifts are a bit jerky. I have a Rod Sutphin custom tune and it shifts much more like OEM

Should I build my b58?!? I kinda wanted a g80 but they’re too much. 8k motor 6k trans ? I can deal with that I already bought a pure 800
$11k motor and $6k trans. You also need a LSD, fuel system and other handling upgrades. G8X is a better car if you can afford it but my 775 whp + F22 is bonkers
@@TheSpeedAddiction I have a daily and I think I’m gonna keep the 340 and get it to billium mason to be built eventually! . Then keep conservative power till ready for trans upgrade. I’m x drive so not a huge need for wavetrack LSD probably

11k for motor is parts and complete labor including pulling & reinstalling engine fluids etc?
Did you get the high stall torque converter?
No. I’m not using the car for drag racing.
@The Speed Addiction thanks. Yeah I opted out as well, street car for rolls etc not track or drag racing it
Do you still have xhp maps with the trans upgrade?
Yes, I’m using XHP stage 2. Pure say that XHP Stage 3 is too hard on the upgraded clutches.
@@TheSpeedAddiction That kind of sucks. I want to use xhp drag mode. I basically broke my stock transmission with drag mode because it's sooo good. I'm surprised that even a pure built transmission can't handle stage 3 without drag mode. Maybe it's just a warranty safety for them?
@@ichoozjc I would reach out to Pure and ask. Perhaps their stage 2 upgrade can handle XHP drag mode.
I would deffo lose my license if I owned that!!!!
