God the sensuality she gives off is insane. I’ve always been a fan of her music, from a purely musical appreciation aspect, and she is a musical genius.....but God, at the age 16, I didn’t know how to explain my complete infatuation for her. Still can’t explain it. She still gives me butterflies.
Her best album and one of my favorite tracks from it, for sure. I stopped listening to Tori after SLG, but her first five albums are on repeat to this day. The music from this era 90s - early 2000s is iconic and cannot be replicated.
A lot of people think Scarlet’s Walk is her best album. I prefer BFP-FTCH eras, but SW is lovely too. It’s pretty commonly regarded as her last “masterpiece” album. You should give it a try!
I've actually noticed a lot of Caught a Lite Sneeze TV appearances from this era where it seems the instrumental track is from the album, but her vocals are live. I've heard her say that the harpsichord is a temperamental instrument, so maybe they just gave up on the TV performances. lol I enjoy it anyway. :)
aww, i've never seen her actually speak about her break up.. the songs are a different story. she definitely still seems sad about it. poor tori.. i love you. lol
Yes, this is definitely a live vocal, but all the rest is pre-recorded. This is sometimes done. There's another version of CALS out there like this. She also did a version like this of Bouncing Off Clouds on Graham Norton in 2007. Interesting versions, as they allow for comparison between recorded and live vocals. It's impressive how close they are.
If you want a purer live version of Caught A Lite Sneeze from 1996, then there is the SNL performance that you can find... in places. I think the SNL version is better because the live environment was better and gave Tori more room than Richard & Judy, but that's your call.
I think the keyboards may be prerecorded here also because way near the end she stopped playing and raised her hands from the harpsichord for several seconds but it just kept playing in the background. She's definitely playing both instruments, but a lot of times on shows like these they can't really get all the instruments microphoned and ready-to-go, and they rarely get a sound check, so they just play prerecorded material. She did it once for Cornflake Girl on a late show too.
That old sad upright is no Bosey! Why did that do that?!!! I could see Tori was not happy about the pre recorded bit about this at all, I could tell the gutless piano keys were sticking and she was trying to cover it with her playing hands. I know! Been there! But fantastic woman I know she is for real, she doesn't have to fake anything. The harpsichord was for real for sure.
It is a live vocal you know. A little more echo, breathing differently, and a little feedback on the mic towards the end. Sync'd piano/harpsichord as part of the backing would've been mandatory as there would be no way to properly prep and soundcheck them for a quick spot like this.
Scandal! :o) But I promise the lack of sync there is RUclips's fault not the lady herself - after I uploaded this I noticed the soundtrack looses time with the picture as it goes on. Actually she might be miming the keys anyway (getting a harpsichord in tune with a piano under TV lights would be a mammoth engineering operation)... but if so the keyboard miming is in perfect timing on my original tape I promise! The vocal's definitely live though.
It's funny, they are famously like white bread in human form, but they had her on a few times and always totally rolled with it and seemed genuinely fascinated by the Tori takes.
This doesn't sound exactly like the CD. There are differences in the performance. And did you see how horribly delayed the sound was in the interview? It's possible she's syncing, because I think the harpsichord isn't live, but the truth is she is more than capable of performing like this live. Take her Sessions version of this song live, for example. It's better than the album version.
What wiman . Id do anything to see her play one of my harpsichords. Id trade a trevor pinnick and a gustav leonhardt to see her put her gifted hands on one of my instruments❤
Sorry the vocal and picture loose sync as it goes on, I'll try reloading to fix it.
I never could, I never did, I never could, I'm fulla shit
@@prl1973 Got that reference. The sync isn't that bad though. Pretty good till the very end.
Tori’s best album was Boys For Pele, that album it so deep.

Feel ya.
Totally feel you!!!
She is singing live that’s for sure, and her voice is beautiful!

@@bettynelms9899 Very few people who were fans before Scarlet is consider it her best.
no one considers scarlet to be her best. boys for pele is considered her best which it is@@bettynelms9899
God, what a performance
Love this. Tori with Zig and Zag on the Big Breakfast was also brilliant.

that set is positively crazy
Amazing. My favorite Tori song, and this is the best visual representation of the song I've ever seen.
Video is pretty good, the music video 🥰
@@floodkevin4716 Going to see Tori in concert for the first time in a couple months! :D
@@MattRichards711 nice she's a good time. You will love it!
I’ve seen many performances of CALS, but this is the first time I’ve seen this one.

Incredible, ironc, professional, brillant, sexy, true, poetic, Tori Amos 🌚😍
heehe I dont believe she was on this morning cool :D it's nostalgia trip of the 90's hehe Richard and Judy :D!!

Goddess Tori, so humble and captivating.
She is so ethereal.

that's no youtube's fault.. that's the power of pure Tori magic!!!!!

She sounds like a siren ❤
You don't normally see a pop / rock star playing the harpsichord. So, that's pretty neat.
The fact that her album BFP is a break up album and it doesn't come off as a break up album is fucking incredible. I love this album soooooooo mf much
Thank you so much for this!!
Ela é simplismente perfeita =O, Uma das minhas cantoras favoritas de cabeceira =]
I have to meet Tori Amos! Someday! I’d Love to write a song with her! I’ve been accused of being too Wordy!
You can write a song for me, Wanda. Robin Fox #robinfox
God 1996 was peak humanity... I miss the 90s.

By the way: I bought my very first TA album in Tilburg, the Netherlands, back then in '96.
Richard and Judy were pretty chill with Tori. It was cute.
It's funny, they are famously like white bread in human form, but they had her on a few times and always totally rolled with it and seemed genuinely fascinated by the Tori takes.

Hard not to fall in love with her
Is she talking about Trent??

SPELLBOUND.
Where did this Tori go?
Do you feed me?
That makes her so adorable and human.

I love how she's faking it on this performance
That this performance was on Richard & Judy is kinda ridiculous.

My bride as an tip.
That beat-up old upright would certainly not sound like a Bosey, but she's pushing a single so she's gotta represent it in that way.
It's def a live vocal - she completely misses the second verse: "the spire is hot and my cells can't feed ..." etc etc
haha! Total live vocal, everything else not so much!
Whoa! She stopped playing to switch back to harpsichord and the piano definitely kept going! Shenanigans!
(kalp)
please someone separate the musical part from the conversation
