Holy gods above and below, what a musical genius she is. The hairs on the back of my neck stood up when the piano section kicked in. She could do a whole album with just one take...
Obsessed with the bridge, with this entire video. She's such a force of emotion. Tumultuous times here and her genius allowed that to escape in the music as therapy and a gift for us. She brings top-notch soul like no other.
Since I found out Tori, the other female singers doesn't seem to me singer anymore, or incomplete in some ways... I always liked Alanis, Dolores... But Tori is absolutely on another planet! She's really a GODDESS.
This is the song that made me fall in love with Tori. No matter how many amazing songs/albums she creates for us to fall in love with, this one will always hold a very special place in my heart because it was my first love. This song opened my eyes and ears to music and is the reason I write music today. Thanks for sharing this video!
There is NO DIFFERENCE in her voice/tempo from the album to this performance. Wow. There's so many nuances to notice here...she could play this in her sleep. At the very least Rock and Roll Hall of Fame...but she may need a new category all her own.
This is farrr too amazing...! I can't wait till she gets Kennedy Center Honors and hopefully I'm alive to see it, just to see WHO sings these amazing songs in tribute....
WOW...sings half the song a capella while drumming on the piano (who else does that?), and then - BAM, voice and piano at the same time, right on pitch. Freakin' incredible. Her genius amazes me.
she's tori amos, one of most talented singer/songwriter/pianist on earth...imho!^^ This song is an half accappella version of a single from her amazing album "boys from pele", I warmly advise her first four album: little earthquakes, under the pink, the yet mentionet boys for pele, and from the choirgirl hotel...you'll never regret it, she'll speak to your soul, to pieces of you you can't even know you have...I love her! ^^
HUGE..that's the meaning of the word artist..i never managed to do two things together when i listen to tori..just stand there and listen to her..speechless..like a prayer..
That was pure fucking artistry! Most impressive! What a wonderful treat to hear one of my favourite songs caught thought the artists interpretation. THANKS FOR POSTING THIS Hereinmyhead102. I mean that from my heart.........
What's truly brilliant about this is how is shows the raw, sheer, naked talent of the artist... no fancy video, no lip-synching.... this is the creative process laid so intensely bare. It's almost hard to watch; I feel like I'm being a voyeur. Gawd, just amazing. Thanks Tori for sharing this with everyone...
I come back. I see comments from 10 hours ago. It's 2022. This makes me very happy. If there were more Tori fans around the world would be a better place
Tori Amos is one of thegreatest live performers that have ever existed. I can't say I'm a big fan of her, even though I really like her, but I can assure you she's the most passionate performer I've seen. Me and my gun moved me to tears on TV, hahaha!
I'm so thankful to have seen/heard this performance. It's two versions of the same song fused together as perfectly as only Tori could do it. I love her so much, but it sometimes slips my mind for a short time only to be dramatically reminded by such magnificent displays of artistry. Oh, and BIG THANKS to HEREINMYHEAD for the post! That was great!
@Shecerka Re: acoustic "Caught a Lite Sneeze": if you can find a copy, it's on the 2005 Original Bootleg from Boston. If you can't find a copy of that CD, the date is August 21, 2005.

Her piano ghost fingers are adorable. It's like when I TRY to drum along to In the Air Tonight by Phil Collins... not just the solo but the rhythm throughout.
The way she controls her voice is just insane. ❤
Roughly 30 years of trying and I still can't find the words to express how talented she is.
Holy gods above and below, what a musical genius she is. The hairs on the back of my neck stood up when the piano section kicked in. She could do a whole album with just one take...
Ditto..

That's what music used to be. That is what it meant to us......now????
Am I a normal person if I look up this video every week and watch it 3 times in replay?
Edi Luhmann yrs
YES
Woudn't be normal doing otherwise
Yea, I feel the same...
Absolutely
This has got to be the best accapela version of this song ever! And when she get to playing the piano, I'm gone!! too much for words!!
isn't that the recording?
No. It's a promotional thing. This was shown after BFP got released the day before.
I love her. She's like a wild beast trapped inside a beautiful siren!!
dear god. i have no words.
RIGHT?!
She's one of the artists that can successfully transfer emotions into music so that you can feel what she's feeling.
Agressive but Fragile and Painful, that's what I love about Tori Amos

It's amazing how crystal clear her voice is. I also think it's cool how she mimics playing the piano.
She has GOT to have perfect pitch surely! Genius X
this changed my life
shows how much control she has over her tone and voice, i always thought she just randomly sang and it all fell into place.
This is farrr too amazing...! I can't wait till she gets Kennedy Center Honors and hopefully I'm alive to see it, just to see WHO sings these amazing songs in tribute....
This is now my new favorite Tori video...
And all the mics were dropped. And the crew had to pack up and leave.
Srsly.
in 2024 and still unreel!
Every time I've seen her live she's been amazing, but watching this movie truly shows her genius.
the world is billions of years old..and i get to live the same time as Tori Amos.. thats a lottery win
Something primal serging through me as I listen.
WOW...sings half the song a capella while drumming on the piano (who else does that?), and then - BAM, voice and piano at the same time, right on pitch. Freakin' incredible. Her genius amazes me.
Holy goddess!
Long time fan here. Hearing that acapella is amazing.
The most beautiful rendition of any song I have ever heard. So raw and powerful
So haunting and yet so utterly beautiful..never had shivers up my spine like Tori can produce.. I'm in love!
The word siren, was written for Tori Amos. So talented & it's such a pleasure to see someone reveling in doing exactly what they were meant to do.
This was cool, seeing her record and tapping out the harpsichord parts :D
This is fabulous. You can really hear the richness of her voice. She's absolutely enchanting to watch.

One of the absolute best live shows I have ever seen. Thank you for this version.
Absolutely amazing
One of the very few artists that brings tears to my eyes...she's wonderful.
This song introduced me to Tor, back in '96. It's still my favorite song of hers, so dreamy, surreal and melancholic ...
I come back. I see comments from 10 hours ago.
It's 2022. This makes me very happy. If there were more Tori fans around the world would be a better place

Shes so talented Wow!!!!
Her piano ghost fingers are adorable.

She touched my soul as she touched the piano.
In a master class of her own!!!
