This was funny to watch. I often ask for permission from my wife, and she's always like;
"But why are you asking for my permission?"
To which I always say;
"Because you're the boss!!"
She hates it, and yes, there are nuances to it and how we run our household, but it is what it is...😂
I think I would like just to add on what Lerato said. Allowing your partner to be themselves and to explore and evolve goes a lot with trust which a lot of men need in a relationship. There is a level of love expressed in trusting your partner to do things you might not be sure of or approve. Trust that goes with respect, respecting that someone is a grown adult who isn't naive, we do not marry our son but a full grown adult. Trusting that they will have your best interests at heart in doing what they want to do. Cautioning them about the dangers but giving them the space to live out their lives to the full . Trusting that even if it doesn't end well, you would have played your part in showing them love and would provide a safe space when life happens. Love is indeed not controlling..

Ey guys thanks for this it’s an almost everything thing that we turn to face in marriages, as much as we don’t have to ask for permission, accountability is somehow making us seem like we are, and for the fact that we have to talk everything through, we are different sometimes it can really take a toll on us, leading to fights…I’m currently facing a similar issue, sometimes you want something so hard and your partner doesn’t see it that way anyway life goes on, we grow through all these!

I also wouldn't even negotiate when it comes to my partner buying a motorbike, it's a no no for me.
Me too. My dad almost lost his life on the bike. So, No!
Even myself, my husband was in a stage where he wanted a motorbike so bad. I demotivated him and even show him pics and videos of people who passed from motorbike accidents. One day we drove past an accident where a motoring and a biker was involved and the bikers head was detached from his body and stuck into the helmet. From that day he said I change my mind cause I’m a motor you have 10% of surviving and if you do it’s either you will be paralysed for the rest of your life or even brain dead. It’s only 1% that becomes that lucky and survive without any scratch

We continued speaking about it. 5/6 years ago I bought him a helmet to say I don’t want to stand between him and his dreams. He has been speaking less about it😂. When I was pushing back, that’s all he spoke about🤷🏾♀️

The motorbike issue 🤔I think Pheto allow Lerato to buy it cos men will only agree with you after experiencing the practical side of things. I have the same feelings as Pheto about motorbikes
My partner says “love the boys are going on a weekend trip, May I please go” he is the one who decided to use those words.
But it doesn’t mean I can say no. I’ve never actually.
Now, if I say “I’m going on a girls trip” he says “alright, enjoy”

I wish we gave more context about the bike yaz. It really was a bone of contention in our marriage. We even went to counseling because we were just not agreeing. About 5/6 years ago I bought him a helmet to say that as uncomfortable as I am, I cannot stand between him and his dreams. It’s strange cause after I bought him the helmet he literally stopped speaking about the bike🙆🏾♀️😃, and hasn’t bought it yet. I was extremely fearful of a motorbike, I still slightly am. All I can do is to trust God for divine protection when he finally gets the bike.

Or he just doesn’t wanna worry you despite how much he wants the bike. It’s definitely a catch 22 situation. Shem I feel for you both. Hahah. If he got it, you both would be unhappy 😃 (for different reasons of course). You most likely would not let him ride it in peace kikik
