My grandfather has an Arteon, and I love it. Plenty of power and plenty of quality. I'm also pretty sure that his car is the only civilian-owned Arteon in my state.
I test drove 5 cars last weekend. I boiled down my choices to either a BMW 330xi and the Arteon (2020). Even though the 330xi had a better interior experience, I picked the Arteon. For the same money, the driving experience is about the same, and the Arteon comes with more features for the same price.
I own both a KIA (Sorento) and a VW (GTI). I love them both so there's no brand bias here in a choice between the Arteon and the Stinger. I've driven both vehicles and if I were choosing between the turbo4 engines in each, I'd opt for the Arteon without question. Comparing the Arteon to the higher spec 3.3L V6 in the Stinger and the choice is more difficult. I think Mr. Biermann and his colleagues at Hyundai/KIA have done a remarkable job of building an American-ized version of a European GT sedan at a reasonable price. But I think the differences between the Stinger and the Arteon highlight the different perspectives of Americans (both north and south of the Canadian border) and Europeans in terms of what "performance" means. There's a reason that Americans invented drag racing while Europeans invented rallies. Road racing in America often means circling high banked ovals in stadiums while Europeans think of road racing on public roads or tracks designed to emulate them. For Americans "performance" often begins and ends with straight line acceleration to 60 mph and quarter mile times. For Europeans "performance" in a GT sedan often means traveling in comfort at 100 mph+ on superbly maintained highways or threading roads often laid down originally by the Romans two millennia ago. VW has a history of trying to interest Americans in the Euro-spec vehicles with almost no success. Americans want larger, cheaper VW's than Europeans. The Arteon represents still another effort along that line. (One exception for the Arteon. The North American version uses a conventional 8 speed transmission while the Euro version has a DCT.) I have no doubt that more Americans will choose the Stinger over the VW. But for those who value a true European GT driving experience with accommodations for four the Arteon outpoints the Stinger.
I agree with most of what you said but this car miserably fails the sales even in Europe. This is unlike Golf R a big car for 4motion to handle. If they threw the same awd in Toureg could be amazing but yeah thats basically stepping on Audi’s toes. And the haldex based 4wds suck so bad. Its no brainer why people go for stinger in USA. Its a real GT unlike this piece of crap. In my opinion this is just another niche model, which will be discontinued just like scirocco.
The Arteon is based on the European Passat B8, so I guess you now finally get the kind of "Passat" that Europe already has since 2014. The interior is pretty much the same when you compare the Arteon to a Passat B8 HighLine or R-Line.
Raven16691 although I like what they're doing with the styling of the Arteon, I'd probably prefer the Passat looks with all these premium features. At least awd.
I own a 2019 Arteon SEL Premium R-Line that I purchased new for $39,500 USD. An absolute stunning car for the money and loaded to boot! Gas mileage on a trip: 34 mpg. Put an APR+ tune in it for $1,200 USD which brought up the horsepower to 368 and the torque to 358 lb/ft. 0-60 mph in the very low 5's.
Saxybeast 89 LMFAO I don’t blame you, Us Ontario Drivers fucking suck 😂😂 I live in Brampton Ontario. The highest car insurance rates in NA for accidents and insurance fraud
This by far the best VW I've ever owned. Once the lease is over, my Arteon will get a stage 1 APR tune. I'm pretty happy with the performance as it sits. Plus, no one owns one. Less than 500 sold per year in Canada. Lots and lots of looks!
So I'm planning on tuning mine as well, I just crossed the 40,000 mile marker but you have to watch the transmission because it's an 8-speed aisin not the dsg thats ok with more power. so it can't take any more than 330 ft lb of torque (at least that's what the manual for it said when I read it) and I know the APR stage one tune (and a ton of others) goes well above that... Just something to look out for....I found ABT will tune it right before the limit of the transmission so thats what Im gunna get.... Figured I'd tell someone about this before they wind up paying five grand for a new transmission since it lives rent free in my head
This car is much prettier than a Stinger, in my humble opinion. And I would argue that it is perfectly appropriate for 99% of the real-world driving that people do. If you want to be a menace to other drivers, get a GTI or a Golf R. Huge kudos go to Volkswagen for not just making another SUV. The only thing that would make these genuinely better would be to actually have them at the VW dealerships. It's 2023 now, and you still can't find them.

always on individual in my gti: engine (soundaktor and throttle response) - normal steering - sport (more effort) adaptive lighting - sport (doesn't lag when following curves, not sure why you'd want it any other way) front diff - sport (locks up earlier)
This car needs the engine from the S4/S5, call it the Arteon R (not R line). Sure it would bump up the price (a little), and I might be the only purchaser, but yeah they should do it.
It has a launch control. Go to sport mode, then car -> settings -> turn off traction control -> hold the brake pedal and press accelerator. The you will see "Launch control program activated" -> release the break. There you have it.
@Богдан Кондратов Having put about 40K miles on a Stage 1 APR tuned MK6 GTI putting it altogether at over 100K miles before trading it for a MK7.5, I'd have to dispute that characterization. So would the other members of the Golf R/GTI owners group here in the Pacific NW.
@@chaseedgren3097 yep, the transmission is only rated to handle a certain amount of torque. Tune at your own risk, or only use that power very intermittently, to reduce trans wear
I have one with a stage 1 APR tune so it’s basically a bigger golf R with lane centering and a bunch of other European options activated thru VCDS. Also front plate stays in the trunk.
I customize the drive modes of my new Mercedes A 220. The throttle response feels great in comfort mode. The steering feels a little bit heavier in sport. It doesn't make that big of a difference after all because it's not a sports car. But I still like to customize it just to make it feel a bit more personal.
I have two sport sedans, and both I customize all the time. I turn the vents, set the temperature...I even shift all by myself in both of them (manuals).
Sorry guys, I do not get your continued hatred of a volume button that turns the little on/off symbol in the middle. ??? In a million years, I would never notice, or be bothered by that. I have that feature in my 2018 Golf, and I’m so obsessed by this issue, that every time someone new is in my car, I show them my volume knob, and ask if it bothers them. Their blank stares tell the story. Just had to let you know, love your channel, and your chemistry with each other.
Have a 2018 Tiguan in the family. Can only customise a few things, but I keep sports steering regardless of whatever settings I want because it’s more precise.
I have stage 2 they used my car for the research and development got all the good stuff 387 hp and 409 lb torque. The car is awesome very pleased and still get good gas mileage.
Kenneth Sackrider what kinda gas mileage would that be? Because I know the Passat with the big 280hp petrol engine gets really bad mileage so I can’t image a stage 2 tuned version being better.
Also, I have customized my VW CC. I made several changes in the settings and also made changes to the LED lights, climate control, ECU, and other features using the OBD eleven plug in and app.....to answer the question in the video 😉
I bought an arteon after watching this review. Theres SICK deals on them right now bc they arent moving off lots. Kia dealerships in my area havent had any issues moving them, so they didnt want to come down on price really.
I have it for almost two years and still people are stopping to say how beautiful it is, and it really is something special. Btw, you can set the Lane keep assist to adaptive mode which is lane centering.
Just this week, VW offered me to swap my GT (Passat) for an Arteon. Unfortunately, even with all the promos and discount, I’m too early in my lease for it to be worth it (penalty too high and nullifies part of promos). I can tell though, they’re having trouble selling this car, probably for the reasons you mentioned (price, engine power)... Might swap, but at the right price only...
Богдан Кондратов true, only the AWD would be a nice upgrade.... my GT has 0 grip on snow due to its large tires... my fault, should have downsized. Live and learn right.
The Arteon replaced the Passat CC. Driven a few of them and thing they look absolutely fantastic, especially in black. There is a air slammed one with giant chrome wheels driving around where I live. Looks so cool.
It already has almost 270hp lol it’s not meant to be a sports car. The car clearly isn’t for you if you want 300+ hp. The average daily driver is around 140hp.
11:39 for the last time: every VW with lane assist has lane centering capability. It’s not on by default but you can activate it in the driving assistant settings.
About it not having enough horses for an "R-line", it helps when you realize R-line is just a visual package (interior and exterior) for the Volkswagen, similar to "R-design" on Volvos or "AMG Look package" on Mercs. You can get a 150 hp Volkswagen with the R-line, and actually here in Europe, most of the Arteons for sale are always the R-line but with slow engines.
Arteon all the way. Probably stage 1 tune it right away with all the savings from the difference between the A7, to bring it to or above Kia stinger butt specs. I'm a car shaped cat lover, wagons for life. I'm with you. If sportbacks keep the sedans alive, I'm okay with that world.
@@chocolatewheelchair The "void the warranty" comment is made often but it represents a misunderstanding of reality. In fact, the warranty is voided only if a modification can be shown to directly result in a component failure. That won't necessarily result in a fix under warranty but numerous court cases support that interpretation. Furthermore, many VW dealers (including mine) actually offer tuning services and honor warranty claims without question. Finally, tuning companies such as APR offer low cost warranties that mimic the full factory warranty protection.
The Predecessor of the Arteon is the discontinued Passat CC,i would get a 2013 Passat CC,becuse in that year it got facelifted and looked awesome, and you could get it with a 3.6L V6 with 300hp that sounds AWESOME even when stock. And you could get Lane Keep Assist and Adaptive Cruise in that year too,so its not much behind on tech either.

Recently took it on a 7 hour trip from NNY to Maine and got 540 miles of range per tank on the highway. One advantage this has over my golf R, is that in the custom drive mode, you can now dial in the DCC. previously you could only choose comfort, normal, and sport/race
Mk7 Golf R owner. I use custom setting, which I have configured to have the sportiest setting for everything (steering weight, damping, Soundaktor exhaust, engine mode), except my damping is on Sport.
I have a non-sports car that I had to customize via OBDII. I have the 2017 Ford Fusion Sport (that you reviewed in a half-assed kinda way... it deserved better guys). Using Forscan with an ODBII connection, you can enable the Lincoln features that allow you to customize the steering and suspension modes independently of the main "sport mode". Now in the summer I keep the suspension and steering in sport mode and it makes the car 1000% better (you should re-do your review with that enabled). In the winter I drop them down to "normal", which is still higher than Ford's default (comfort).
VW and Audi of America almost always water down what gets sent to the US; they seem to think North Americans are dumb, lazy idiots who just want cupholders and automatics mostly. VW and Audi of America management should be cleaned out and started over again, it's been a problem for decades.
TheStraightPipes no cause the dsg is so unreliable! North America is not their strongest market so, they are trying to increase their marketshare by giving you guys more reliable tech. Friend of mine owns dsg golf, after the warranty ends he is thinking about selling it.
I once owned a 2006 B6 Passat 2.0T (automatic). Bought it new at the dealer and took it for all scheduled maintenance services. Within the first 6 months, it had transmission issues and air con issues. The issues never stopped. After my 4 yr warranty expired, I was spending $3K/yr avg on repairs. I got rid of it and I will never look back to VW specific line of cars. Their dealerships/service centers in Long Island, New York are horrible and zero commitment to making their customers happy. Nor does VW in the United States. This could be totally different in Europe. I am happy to share details if anyone is interested.
I have a 2014 vw passat vr6 (USA) that I put coilovers and polyurethane bushings and put an exhaust on. All for less than 11k. I have some rotif wheels and pirellis for the summer, rn I have winters on. The coilovers and bushings completely transform the car if you want a "Sporty sedan" on a cheap. I mean I truly can floor it through corners and have the back end kick out with the front wheels going wild but being really manageable at the same time. The sound is unbeatable in a six cylinder in my opinion. In terms of fwd I feel that people have a bad opinion of it because they haven't done the proper modifications to get rid of the front wheel drive wheel hop. Also people wanna be able to floor it no matter rain or snow, but that's not the case with fwd or rwd, you need to apply the power over time and concentrate on how you manage braking and putting the power down, but it makes it really fun. With good tires and a nice suspension setup your car can be really manageable in the rain even without awd. I clocked a 0-60 of 5.5 in the dry multiple times after the few suspension mods.

@Careful_Eugene My neighbour has a Challenger and it looks better with one, also, the Challenger is built in Brampton, Ontario, Canada where we have front licence plates
I looked at this car at my local VW dealer in Georgia, its about $40k. Not too bad for an under inspiring engine that was great 10 years ago. Then I looked at the Genesis G70 and G80, which the Arteon fits right in between. For $40k you get the G70 Sport, manual trans, with 250hp and 260tq but much better looking interior. Or, for $3k more you can get the 3.3TT option 365hp 376tq. The G80 will bump you about 10k more. The only draw back, you have to buy these at a Hyundai dealership because Genesis still dont have a stand alone dealer network, Hyundai dealerships suck.
As a VW / Audi fan, this is easy. I’d get the Arteon if I’m trying to save money, and the A7 if saving isn’t a concern. Down were I live, there’s some extremely good deals on the Arteon SE. I’ve seen them selling for as low as 32k (USD) with more than enough features to satisfy me. But, if I could afford to buy any car right now, it would have to be the Audi S5! It’s a sportback just like both of these cars and it’s got excellent performance. Maybe one day!
A7 is a different snack bracket and my overall fave. But a Stinger GT will beat up this Arteon and take its lunch money every single day. I prefer the Kia's exterior styling, but give the nod to the VW on the interior - which does a pretty good Audi impersonation. But the performance gap is so huge, it's not even a close call. Kia kills this thing.
It has awesome looks, passable interior, powerful, but turbo-lagged motor, and lots of practicality. Compared to Audi A7 (that I ended up buying), 1) A7 looks more understated and less flashy (but gorgeous to me) 2) A7 interior is way higher quality and ages eons better that that of Arteon (check out some mildly used ones) 3) A7 (at least of the previous gen that I bought) has supercharged 3.0L V6 - lots of power, no lag, better sound 4) A7 has a more solid feel to it, Arteon feels less planted on the road despite looking like a large sedan 5) Practicality is about the same p.s. Road noise in Arteon and A7 is not even comparable.
Unfortunately, Ontario front plates are still not cool. It's one thing I like about living in Saskatchewan: no front plates! Also, are you guys going to be doing an Outback review?

If it’s anything like other VW’s there will be a tune available soon to give it more HP. I could see getting over 300 with a tune. Edit- APR has a nice tune for it lots more power.
Like many (North) Americans you want VW's to be more powerful (on paper) and cheaper. That often goes with "bigger." Europeans tend to prefer smaller displacement more fuel efficient engines and are prone to be more careful about maintenance in vehicles they pay a premium to purchase in the first place.
@@stephenhendricks103 I suppose for the European market it's fine. I understand they have more stringent fuel economy regulations. But yes. For our market, more power would boost appeal and make it more competitive. I'm not necessarily looking for a Hellcat or even an 392 Scat Pack; at least make it more comparable to the Kia Stinger...
@@jmoore4156 It's important to understand that VW doesn't expect to sell many Arteons in North America. In fact, there was a question whether it would even be offered in the North American market, at all. The new VW CEO, however, has said that regardless of sales he felt it was worthwhile to offer it as a sign of VW's European roots. In fact, however, it has done somewhat better in the US than VW expected. When I drove one of the first ones available here in the Pacific Northwest, my local dealer said they expected to receive only 3 units before the end of 2019. As it happens, they've sold nearly a dozen. The Seattle market is a relatively strong one for European sedans so that doesn't necessarily say much about the overall marketplace. Nevertheless, the Arteon is outselling the Audi A7 nationwide. (Not surprising considering the price difference.) But it's worth noting that KIA's hopes for the Stinger haven't lived up to expectations. In the last few months they've sold only about a thousand Stingers a month. That's about three times Arteon sales but sales are down significantly compared to 2018. All in all, of course, sedan sales have tanked in North America. So neither KIA nor VW is likely to put many more eggs in the baskets of either the Stinger or the Arteon. And given the relatively strong sales of the Arteon in Europe North America will remain a sideshow.
Custom settings? I like to put everything into sport except the "bounce" level of the suspension if you can or leave the suspension at comfort or normal. Raven16691 although I like what they're doing with the styling of the Arteon, I'd probably prefer the Passat looks with all these premium features. At least awd.
The Arteon is actually LARGER than the Passat around the world. I can’t believe I get to see well, dumb people on the Internet on cars. Gotcha!
Thanks for posting. I'm being offered a new 2019 SE for 26K (vehicle price). What do you think?
Woww 100 hp for stage 1?
As a Florida driver: Ontario plates equal ultra old snowbird who probably shouldn't still be on the road. No one can make it cool.
lmaooo true!

Saxybeast 89 LMFAO I don’t blame you, Us Ontario Drivers fucking suck 😂😂 I live in Brampton Ontario. The highest car insurance rates in NA for accidents and insurance fraud
Completely agree. Seeing Ontario plates in front of me means I'm in for a bad time.
Hashbrowniepie I live in Ontario and I approve of this statement. Everyone’s grandparents love to live in Florida 😂
Happy holidays, guys! Looking forward to another year of great videos in 2020! 🥂
Thanks, same to you!
But not 2020😂
this did not age well, did it?
This car is much prettier than a Stinger, in my humble opinion. And I would argue that it is perfectly appropriate for 99% of the real-world driving that people do. If you want to be a menace to other drivers, get a GTI or a Golf R. Huge kudos go to Volkswagen for not just making another SUV. The only thing that would make these genuinely better would be to actually have them at the VW dealerships. It's 2023 now, and you still can't find them.

Reg customized settings: Skoda Superb L&K. 280 HP, Haledex-5 all wheel hang on system. HAS launch control: 0-100 km/h: 5,8 seconds. Love the all wheel-drive with that motor and the 6 (!)-Drive dual clutch. Always switch between ‚comfort‘ and custom: everything on ‚sport‘ except the transmission.
Saw a black one in person the other day, must admit it looked pretty sleek...
Got one my self at a great price the 2021 SE Trim. I came from a jetta 2019. I’m loving the Arteon the ride, the elegant interior, everything. I’m very happy with it.
Basicly a nex gen Pasat CC
I have virtually the same car in the UK but the big differences I notice are, I have launch control, a heads up display, a larger infotainment, dynaudio speaker system and of course a dual clutch gearbox. Seems we get a better version.

Put an APR tune on it and done! VWs 2.0T REALLY wakes up with a simple tune. Beautiful car!

This thing is really really sharp in person. Saw one coming the other way yesterday, it turned my head.
Ontario plates: cool 👍

Dude BC plates are the coolest in Canada. "Beautiful British Columbia"
always on individual in my gti:
engine (soundaktor and throttle response) - normal
steering - sport (more effort)
adaptive lighting - sport (doesn't lag when following curves, not sure why you'd want it any other way)
front diff - sport (locks up earlier)
This car needs the engine from the S4/S5, call it the Arteon R (not R line). Sure it would bump up the price (a little), and I might be the only purchaser, but yeah they should do it.
It has a launch control. Go to sport mode, then car -> settings -> turn off traction control -> hold the brake pedal and press accelerator. The you will see "Launch control program activated" -> release the break. There you have it.
This car got discontinued
@@TheStraightPipes this does not change the fact that it has launch control. 😉
I've heard the Arteon has the IS38 Turbo from the golf R... meaning it should react to tuning quite well
Tech from VW here... This is true. But the auto trans will be it's downfall );
Yeah I’ve heard it gains over 100hp at the crank with an ecu tune, downpipe and intercooler
@@chaseedgren3097 How? Audi A6 with 8 speed is quicker than its DCT brother in Europe.
I have one with a stage 1 APR tune so it’s basically a bigger golf R with lane centering and a bunch of other European options activated thru VCDS. Also front plate stays in the trunk.
Love my Chili🌶 Red Arteon! Traded in my 2013 BMW X5 and guess what? It serves me just as well. 👌🏾
👍🏻👍🏻
Sorry guys, I do not get your continued hatred of a volume button that turns the little on/off symbol in the middle. ??? In a million years, I would never notice, or be bothered by that. I have that feature in my 2018 Golf, and I’m so obsessed by this issue, that every time someone new is in my car, I show them my volume knob, and ask if it bothers them. Their blank stares tell the story. Just had to let you know, love your channel, and your chemistry with each other.
GT Stinger for sure, happy it’s my daily

How’s the gas mileage
@@MrBrightSide784 Atrocious, but worth it. The G70 I had as a tester averaged about 15mpg...

Slow yes, but APR exists
~330tq ~325hp to the wheels while still keeping a powetrain warranty through apr+. Perfect amount of power for the arteon if you ask me.
luckygodzilla95 what about a stage 2?
I have stage 2 they used my car for the research and development got all the good stuff 387 hp and 409 lb torque. The car is awesome very pleased and still get good gas mileage.
Kenneth Sackrider what kinda gas mileage would that be? Because I know the Passat with the big 280hp petrol engine gets really bad mileage so I can’t image a stage 2 tuned version being better.
Erik S. I mostly travel the highway I’ve been averaging 28 highway and 24 city.
Finally! I've been waiting for this video. I've owned two Volkswagen CC models and test drove a new Arteon. I really like these.
RichardG22 lol don’t get another vw

The best-looking Volkswagen ever made - period. I hope there's more great design like this from Volkswagen for future vehicles
R-Line won't give any power, it's just for the "R" look ;/
The Arteon replaced the Passat CC. Driven a few of them and thing they look absolutely fantastic, especially in black. There is a air slammed one with giant chrome wheels driving around where I live. Looks so cool.
The power figures are a turn off. Maybe if it was right around 310-335, I’d consider but for the price nope.
Find a dealer that also sells APR software. You can get it tuned and still under warranty. 50+HP.
Majority of people dont need more than that tho.
Exactly
It already has almost 270hp lol it’s not meant to be a sports car. The car clearly isn’t for you if you want 300+ hp. The average daily driver is around 140hp.
@@neyland94 I need it or shall I say, want it! LOL
11:39 for the last time: every VW with lane assist has lane centering capability. It’s not on by default but you can activate it in the driving assistant settings.
For the last time, we drive every car with maximum lane keep settings on
About it not having enough horses for an "R-line", it helps when you realize R-line is just a visual package (interior and exterior) for the Volkswagen, similar to "R-design" on Volvos or "AMG Look package" on Mercs.
Frank Stallone if you mod engine you void the warranty
@@chocolatewheelchair lots of tuners will match the factory warranty
Pyrofan97 what do you mean bro?
chocolatewheelchair not if you go with APR. Dealer installed and they honor the warranty.
Oh, my eyes! The new Sonata looks worse every time I see it. How could he even ask if that looks better than this VW. Not even close.
yeah, only Lexus has uglier front grills than that Sonata...as others noted, looks like a catfish. TOO MUCH GRILL. That Arteon grill is freaking nice, not best right now, but on that side of the fence for sure.

The Arteon... hands down my choice. I really like the VW styling language of the present day VW Sedan line up.
They're subtle (though some might call it boring) but timeless.
I would love to see a arteon r with the 5 cylinder from the RS3
I have a non-sports car that I had to customize via OBDII. I have the 2017 Ford Fusion Sport (that you reviewed in a half-assed kinda way... it deserved better guys). Using Forscan with an ODBII connection, you can enable the Lincoln features that allow you to customize the steering and suspension modes independently of the main "sport mode". Now in the summer I keep the suspension and steering in sport mode and it makes the car 1000% better (you should re-do your review with that enabled). In the winter I drop them down to "normal", which is still higher than Ford's default (comfort).
the auto in european arteon is a DSG. wondering why they screwed it up again for north america market
Yep
cost and reliability?
VW and Audi of America almost always water down what gets sent to the US; they seem to think North Americans are dumb, lazy idiots who just want cupholders and automatics mostly. VW and Audi of America management should be cleaned out and started over again, it's been a problem for decades.
TheStraightPipes no cause the dsg is so unreliable! North America is not their strongest market so, they are trying to increase their marketshare by giving you guys more reliable tech. Friend of mine owns dsg golf, after the warranty ends he is thinking about selling it.
maybe because u drive so ****in' slowly there…..
I thought the new Accord was the A7 on a budget... wait, no, nevermind it’s too reliable for that...
"I drive a Honda" ... Ok

Didn’t take long to edit and post. Hope I can be seen in the background.
Just wanna say your channel is the best lol I been watching your vids for a couple of months now and every video is informative, comedic and entertaining without trying to hard, and you never leave an absence in dialogue. Everything you guys do is spot on and i used to watch throttle house, which are awesome guys, and i love their channel too, but i found myself watching your channel more now. And less theirs. But i still love their channel too. I just like yours more now lol.

I always customize a non sport car for how I drive cause it makes the experience so much better for me at least
Yuri's looking like Johnny Depp in winter mode
I'm leaving in Germany currently and actually I crossed shop those with my current Kia Stinger. I do not regret, feel, design, power, extras and price were the deciding factors. Let me know when you visit Munich, my exhaust is loud 😎
I’ll take the Arteon over the GT Stinger.
Now it would have made more sense to place the same HP as the Golf R in it or at least the Passat GT
I mess with the custom settings in a non-sports-car. I have a newer Volvo V90 T6. I don’t like light steering, and heavy steering is only available in “Dynamic” mode, so I created a custom mode with all the Eco & Comfort settings *with* heavy steering.
Nice
Front plates ruin every single car ever. I hate how they look.

The only draw back, you have to buy these at a Hyundai dealership because Genesis still dont have a stand alone dealer network, Hyundai dealerships suck.
why don't you compare it to a A5 Sportback?
Alexander Bellingroth and what about bmw 440i or 435i gran coupe?
From a size standpoint, the Arteon is much closer to the class of vehicle the A7 occupies than the A5 or 440 gc.
South Africa gets the Arteon with the Golf R engine spec (306hp). Solid ride for sure. I still chose the RWD Stinger GT.
Yurt looks like he doesn’t give a shit about this car! He looks like “Man, let me go buy an Audi A7 immediately-no haggling!”
Roger Pinnock you said it best
I have to say while the stinger is definetly faster, I think this looks just so much better on the out and inside.
That MQB platform is really paying off. It's going on 6 years and still keeping up with times with ease.
Personally I think the Kia Stinger GT is the Audi S7 on a budget
Stinger is nowhere near close the A6/S6/A7/S7 when it comes to technology, interior style or refinement. It's more like S5 with more room.
sic22l True. I was referring to the size.
Size isn't everything ;)
It has awesome looks, passable interior, powerful, but turbo-lagged motor, and lots of practicality. Compared to Audi A7 (that I ended up buying),
1) A7 looks more understated and less flashy (but gorgeous to me)
2) A7 interior is way higher quality and ages eons better that that of Arteon (check out some mildly used ones)
3) A7 (at least of the previous gen that I bought) has supercharged 3.0L V6 - lots of power, no lag, better sound
4) A7 has a more solid feel to it, Arteon feels less planted on the road despite looking like a large sedan
5) Practicality is about the same
p.s. Road noise in Arteon and A7 is not even comparable.
Unfortunately, Ontario front plates are still not cool. It's one thing I like about living in Saskatchewan: no front plates!

Hottest looking sedan on the market right now!! Just wish it offered a more powerful powertrain option, and the overall price of the car would go down...
(Not surprising considering the price difference.)
But it's worth noting that KIA's hopes for the Stinger haven't lived up to expectations.
Makes the steering a bit heavier, performance better, body roll, etc, while still not feeling like your kidneys will fall out on the ice heaves and potholes.
