Leasing a 2019 SEL R-line Arteon, started in April 2020. Love it. LOVE IT. Absolutely bulletproof. Not a single issue bumper to bumper. What a shame they gave me $8K off MSRP and a 6 YEAR/72,000 mile bumper-to-bumper warranty. Dude, like nobody who gets into this car is looking to have "performance enhancements," or aftermarket tuning, blah blah blah performance enthusiast sh*t. I blow everybody away, every time I get out on the byways and highways, especially at and above the higher end (80+ mph). It's the coolest sedan on the road, bar none, under $100K, and the room inside is incredible. Like the other comment, I love how unique this car is, and EVERYBODY thinks the styling is the bomb. Cruises at 125mph, handles like its on rails, and yup... its a keeper. Maybe you should review the Civic Type-R? Great car, lots of mods, a million on the road. For every Racerboy out there. Nobody beats me in traffic. Nobody.

You failed to mention that the 22 Arteon also comes with power bump. Regardless, i'm a father of two kids and this is my daily commute. For what it is it's perfectly fine. I plan to do the APR ECU upgrade, lowering springs, rear sway-bars, and aftermarket wheels. Coming from hatchbacks (Veloster, A3) and wagons (A4 Avant, Lexus Sportcross) - the Arteon is the perfect car for me since it offers the cargo volume of a wagon/hatch and the styling of a luxury fastback. Recently bought an early 2023 Arteon R shooting brake - for practical reasons needed a sizeable estate and didn’t want huge expense of larger engine (faster) competitors. Came from a black edition A6 which felt more premium but didn’t excite, this offered the best overall package - running costs I can deal with and performance when I want it, but still a very comfortable practical family car. Looking to make some mods and realising they are limited compared with the Golf R, but probably sufficient for what I want…

I own a 2021 Arteon SEL Premium R line. I purchased it because I needed a car with more backseat room and trunk space. The 2021 Arteon was middle of the pack on performance for its price point keeping speed with Audi A5 or Volvo S60 and many other cars. The transmission in the 2021 is not sport tuned as you commented, but it is very smooth. It shifts gears so smoothly that it feels like a CVT. I would say the 2021 Arteon is more luxury grand touring over off the line sport. My prior car was an off the line sports car that could accelerate fast enough to give whiplash. I am OK going 0 to 60 in 6.3 seconds and not getting whiplash.

Have you had any issues with your windows scratching? Haven't gotten deep into researching that particular issue, but wonder if it's a faulty regulator? Any electronics issues? Sorry, but all makers have electronic issues guys and gals. My current car I bought with 88k miles, it's 10 yrs old and over 100k now but it's been an awesome car. It's the lemon of its model with over 1,100 service bulletins 😂 hardy har har! I haven't had any issues. Of course it's maintained very well. So unless the Arteon will fall off it's wheels and the engine will catch fire in 60,000 miles even after being maintained super well, I'm willing to take a chance on VW and this model.

I have a 21’ SEL 4Motion Arteon. I love this car entirely too much 😂. I’ve never really had performance cars. I’ve had a A4, a MK7 Golf, 19’ Jetta R Line, and a CC. I’ve always been a big body 4 door coupe kinda guy deeply. I absolutely loved my CC when I had it. But the Arteon is definitely not a performance vehicle. It’s a niche kinda car with great features. Mine is Stage 1 tuned and lowered and man does it make a world of a difference. 1st car I’ve ever lowered and tuned btw lol. But everyone skips over how BIG the Arteon is. It’s bigger than a A7 at least in the trunk, idk about the outside and interior room. My buddies that get in the back and passenger are well over 6ft and always have tons of room and nobody ever has to move a seat. I remember taking my car to get a brand new toilet and it fit in the trunk perfectly 😂. Yeah it’s not a performance car and they tried to keep up with the horsepower in the segment. I like it as is tbh. If I wanted a performance car I would’ve bought one ya know. The Arteon always 1st caught my eye it’s a sexy car. It gets quite the looks and questions when I’m out and about, ESPECIALLY when the hatch opens. Not to mention all the cool features it comes with. The logo projection, IQ headlights, light up grill, etc. but like I said definitely like a niche car 😅 and to note I did get it used in 2021 with only 2k miles for a VERY good deal!

Volkswagen discontinuing this model means that like most manufacturers, they are going further down the path of electric vehicles. Unless they can overcome all the downsides of electric vehicle ownership, the automotive industry is going to chalk up some impressive losses and the public will suffer for it. The only thing that is going to make electric vehicles a viable option to ICE vehicles is an on-board fusion powered electric generator and I don't see anyone talking about THAT.

Have some apr springs waiting to go in and want to get some sway bars as well, maybe upgrade the intercooler and intake but I’m a little bummed that I’m already at the top of the torque rating for the trans. I’m generally happy with the power, though I can’t get the sport boost level (seems a few psi higher on the console gauge) without the sport shift points so that’s a little annoying too. OK after watching it again you are right. It was just convoluted with probably way too much information for the title of your video. Most people are looking at the current model and you managed to drone on about earlier models for much of the time so I bailed before you finally got to current generation. So I did watch but lost interest in there somewhere. You do realize you are a couch reviewer in regard to finding supposed problems with the car, ferreting info from forums and such. Did you visit the NHTSA site, or did I miss that too? Maybe you own or owned one and experienced these supposed BIG PROBLEMS? I think the problem really is lack of robustness for tweaking and modding..?
