My work colleague got one at the end of last year, i immediately had to go for a look as it just looked so good in crayon grey. Had a sit in it and as you say the interior of the R design is mega! Love the shape of a shooting brake ! Never been a massive vw fan but love this id have one! 👌

Hi Archie ive been watching your channel since you 1st started and this is the very 1st car that you have thought about buying that i 100 % agree with .its fast its practical, it's got 4wd its dsg and it make more sense than any other vehicle you have bought before. I was a classic ford fan but in the last 2 years since i bought my van haven built volkswagan transporter swamper kombi camper im just mad for volkswagan .and in that blue she looks amazing. If you choose to buy it ,you will finally have my blessings 🤟👍🇩🇪 keep up the great work.

Nice cars them Arteons.Considered getting the saloon to replace my Passat last year.But it was too big a car for my needs.Great choice and as you said,tuned and tinkered with,and you’ve got a car that could shock a few super car owners
More sportscar owners than supercar owners... you would need to engine swap this to make supercar owners sweat.
Be great content this one, especially with a bit of titavating I've seen some great options on these through maxton design.

not much price difference if you go "nearly new" ... Arteon a nicer car overall than golf estate and much sleeker looking.

Great video love shooting brakes!! Be a little careful changing the car with the OBD tool as insurance might be affected due to taking it away from original spec! We all know they will do anything to get out of paying out!

I’ve just picked up a Golf R 20 years. You should give one of them a go. Much more lively than the base R.
He had a golf 8 r before and tuned it so I think he kinda has an idea of how a 20 Years wil be

So much more stylish and better in any way than any SUV. The price was their downfall when new though. The BMW 5 series is a better car but can't quite compete on interior space.
And please take that phone off your windscreen. A pillars give a big enough blind spot without adding a phone alongside it.

Very nice. I don't think this model is available down under. Neither VW electric cars yet either. Golf R in the showroom yeah not here. Years after you guys got them they are in short supply. Plus stupid high $85k ask. Lots of Aussies keeping high mileage old cars. Still have my Mkv 2008. No trade in value. A new GTI if you can get it, is also way too much. Sam and Tony were shocked by our used car prices also.

I have the Skoda Superb Estate version of this car. 360Bhp 4 x 4 DSG, adjustable suspension & electric everything. It's a real life sleeper car that's infinitely practical as a family car with a huge boot. Bigger than the Arteon I think. The Arteon may have the better looks though but the Superb as a used buy is much cheaper.

This would be a brilliant addition to your garage. I would like one myself. After a bit of tinkering, tune it and add some wheels with spacers. Maybe even lowered with a subtle body kit it would look awesome.

Arteon R is car has more nicer front end than new E or 5 series. I wish VW made new Arteon like new Passat and add more power... For you just get it...

Well Archie. I bought the car and it drove crap, gearbox was jerky. I would love to know what you plugged in and why Basingstoke VW let you plug into the OBD port. The surround around the port had been damaged too. We asked them for a response and they've gone quiet. Very unprofessional. I suggest you don't tamper with dealerships cars in the future when your not going to buy them. That will be someone else's pride and joy after you've messed with it.
Please if you get it, just leave it alone and drive it. Give us updates, do road trips I want to know what it's like standard, not modified like a demon tweeks Xmas tree
For that money we’re talking c7 RS6. Yeah slightly dated but you can find a good low mileage example with all the gadgets, not to mention the sound and the v8 engine. These are a rip off and just a golf R estate basically

Try the Golf R Estate & I'd try the Audi RSQ3 to the 5 cylinder RS3 Engine but in a usable SUV sounds awesome but thats a nice car the Arteon.

I have a 2021 C8 rs6 urban vorsprung and they aren’t that great, just a passat with lipstick. People think they are amazing, they are average. I really like the look of this car.

Bought a brand new Tiguan R last year worst reliability I’ve ever had and vw nz no help either…. Stay away lad.
You will be bored if it in about 2 months. Great family wagon but you dont have any kids. Stick to the hatchbacks.
