Thanks for the kind words man! I’m just at the stage of slowly building up the channel, but I just want to get as much of my experience out there in the world! Glad you enjoyed and have a great day!
I have one, probably the only one in the city and day everywhere I go I get stares and compliments. This thing is sexy but I would put it against an A7, bit of a stretch lol
That’s why I’ve been looking into it. Definitely not something u see on the road everyday but it captures your attention. But not as expensive as an Audi or other luxury sedans.
I bought one of these last November and still only have 2200 miles on it. I had a 2007 Passat for twelve years that was the best car I ever owned. I liked the idea of a 6 year bumper to bumper warranty and a friend wanted to buy my Passat so I went for it. Overall pretty much everything he says about the car is correct. The chintzy clock in the middle of the dash and the crappy programming of the transmission around town are about my only complaints. This motor really needs a DSG trans pairing. The digital dashboard is kind of gimmicky as I would rather have relevant gauges but it looks cool. The Dynaudio sound system isn't very good but I don't know how the base one sounds like so I'm not taking points off it for that. It does sound better than the "upgraded" Alpine system in my Wrangler but that's not a very high bar. I got 29 MPG the only time I've taken a highway trip with it (700 mile roundtrip) and it does require Premium fuel. You can fit an absolute ton of crap (think big Costco run or 4 golf bags) in the rear without lowering the back seats. The Start/Stop system is defeatable with a switch but it must be pressed after every time the car is started. These cars sat in port for months while awaiting approval to sell at dealers so pretty much all the horizontal surfaces had some king of mung embedded in the paint. After paint correction and a ceramic coating it's pretty much perfect. I have yet to see another one of these on the road. The dealer knock almost 5K off MSRP after some back and forth so ignore the (too high) sticker on these. The dealer closest to me is fantastic to deal with so that was a large part of the decision also. I cross shopped this with the Buick Regal TourX but GM's start/stop system isn't defeatable and the seats were garbage compared to the seats in the VW.
Well said It’s for people who wants a drive with style, very elegant and nicely build. Absolutely value for money. It is going to be my next car afte my bmw 3 series. I honestly didn't know about the Arteon until I went to the dealership when my gf went in to service her Jetta.

Great review from a knowledgeable Audi point of view. Excellent references between parts shared between brands too; much appreciated. It is interesting how much value is in the Arteon yet many people will miss out..great for the enthusiast however!
I own one. It is a great car. Drives like a grand touring car. Sporty but comfortable. The same engine and turbo then Golf R. The wheels on mine are 20 inches. Lots of issues with the infotainment coding. They are slow to fix it. In the winter on snow the car is soooo good. Planted like no others. Because of its wide stance. Overall it’s a really good car.

Lovely video but a couple of mentions. That's not a tiguan shifter, they've used that shifter for virtually every vw dsg for like 10-12 years. Others already mentioned vw did those style of wheels before tesla with the interlagos on the old cc/scirocco. The steering wheel isn't from a gti sadly, the gti/gte/r steering wheel is slightly different, easiest way to tell is cause the center of the wheel is a circle instead of that weird diamond-ish shape.
I was awaiting Arteon before it even arrived, but most VW dealers in the US barely acknowledged it. We have at least 3 large VW dealers in my area and I never saw an ad for an Arteon and they only had one at a large local auto show. Good review (to be honest Doug D seems more interested in supercars that nobody can afford!) I also like that you know and compare the A5 and A7 - which I've been considering. But the A5 is way too small while the A7 is way to expensive. The Arteon seems like a good choice!

I have one and wished I went with the Accord instead lol. btw: the R motor in the Arteon was tuned down. The Golf R has 20 more HP
I own one too, you should join the Facebook group "VW Arteon Owners and Enthusiasts Club USA" By the way, I have tuned mine to 335HP for less than $1,000!
I want one...: '( lol I own an mk6 jetta but love the arteon
@@mattinsydney2627 Hey Mattin. I would but I don't want to void the nice long warranty that came with the '19. Have a "DynoComp" shop here in Scottsdale so I did look into that. I would also join the group, however I'm not a facebook guy given what I see happen to people I know who are on that platform. Thanks for the input tho!
brimopm no worries, mine has a plug-in unit called Racechip which boosts the power, the best part is that it can be unplugged for warranty purposes which is what I do. This is the ideal solution.
Most thorough Arteon review on RUclips...good job!
Just brought Audi A7 last month, have to say i like this car, if A7 does not exit, i will defintely choose Arteon.
Thanks Edison! The A7 is a great vehicle! No bad choices there!
Man no way you can compare the Audi A7 to the Arteon. A7 is a definite masterpiece, used to drive my dads 3.0 tdi 245 ps A7, feels like an rocket
Arteon R is coming in month or two with 300+hp :))
Interesting! Will have to look out for it!
@@ACCELER8TV But I think,it will be only for Europe for year or two...
@@ACCELER8TV My Arteon already has 335 HP
@@mattinsydney2627 Its tuned

I've been watching a lot of car reviews lately and I'm pretty surprised at how many reviewers are Canadian.
Aside from that, how well done the video are. Canadians definitely do them better than Americans. The editing is nice, the dialogue sounds rehearsed, no repeating the same thing and just using filler language.
Obviously, this your own video so these props are for you, but just speaking in generalities. Good job, Canada.
Thanks for the kind words man!
I’m just at the stage of slowly building up the channel, but I just want to get as much of my experience out there in the world!
Glad you enjoyed and have a great day!
Excellent overview. I was really curious about this topic and you covered everything and more! Thanks for a superb video. Hunting for an Arteon now!
I have one, probably the only one in the city and day everywhere I go I get stares and compliments. This thing is sexy but I would put it against an A7, bit of a stretch lol
Nice! Awesome to be the only one!
Thank you for sharing your experiences in depth. Appreciate the view and subscribing.
Enjoy your whip!
I've lease one, and I agree with you.
Well said It’s for people who wants a drive with style, very elegant and nicely build. Absolutely value for money. It is going to be my next car afte my bmw 3 series. I driving in the city with 50kmph restrictions will do good with it. Who wants 300hp when u don’t have limitless motorways? Bestcar 👌🏼👌🏼
In UK there is an acoustic pack available for arteon. Acoustic side windows + other noise reduction.
Amazing! Because in NA we don’t have jt!
@@ACCELER8TV NA don't seem to get the 360° from center to lock steering either, or the EU R-line steering wheel, or the 9.2 inch screen. I received my EU Arteon at the end of February. They used to have rear climate controls for the 3rd zone, but they seem to have ditched that and that zone is now only configurable using the touchscreen. I'm driving the 150hp manual diesel, which is plenty powerful here.
i just got a 2020 passat R-line, worth 50000... jewel. shifters are still good for downhill break engine if u want to save your brakes
I’d buy it. Nice video bro.
🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽❤️
Buy it. We love ours. I am in Southern California and have only seen one other in the wild.
Canadians are killing the RUclips car review game this channel is fire 🔥 then u throw in throttle house and the pipes lol along with truck king and auto trader ca u guys are taking over and I appreciate it
Appreciate the kind words! 🇨🇦
If you could fully debadge this, most people would have the hardest time figuring out who makes this thing.
I'm an A5 Sportback owner, I considered this car after the A7 was too much money as a competitor vs the A5.
I gotta say, since the price different wasn't that much I went with the A5 sportback. People who can't afford an A5/3Series/C300 usually don't know VW exists to fill the gap between the aforementioned brands and a KIA or a Honda.
I honestly didn't know about the Arteon until I went to the dealership when my gf went in to service her Jetta.
Well said!
If you got an s5 sport back you wouldn’t be thinking of upgrading
Great video man. Looking at the Arteon or A5 for my next car.
Appreciate the kind words
A5 all the way bro
LOL this guy keep saying its from Audi.... bro VW owns Audi so you might want a say the other way around. just FYI
Nope he is right, it's from Audi, why buy a company if you can't make use of the tech it has in your lower end products to make them better, Volvo bought Audi
@@partytoy1 Volvo bought Audi? Since when?
@@partytoy1 VW formed Audi... So all the technology and parts you see are made by VW. When did Volvo buy Audi LOOL
Thank you exactly what I was thinking
My 18 yr old just leased an Arteon in white....not sure he's a typical customer for this car but he loves it...very classy-looking car...turns heads...I've driven it and really like it...you did a good review ..I just subscribed to yr channel because of it..nice job
He is probably mature, older than the years suggest!
Great review. I agree; this car is for your 9th or 10th car. I have had a VW/Audi in my driveway consistently since 1985 (there are 3 in our stable right now). I like the real-world review of the Arteon and I now plan to buy an R-Line version as my next vehicle. THANKS!
Thanks man! Appreciate that, try and put it from a perspective of a driver/owner
Thanyou for doing this review. I totally agree that this car is a sleeper an vw needs to advertise a bit more. I appreciate just like your other video the comparison between audi an vw in parts an driving experience. Your commentary while driving was very informative and i learned alout. I hope it will be my next car. Thankyou for all you hard work in making this video.
Much appreciated man, I’m glad it helped ! That’s all I care about
Your welcome an yes it did. I am currently trying to get one now an now because of your video I know I'm getting a quality car.
@@swjazzg7967 it's decent quality. Mine has some rattles that are annoying I'm trying to pin down.
Sorry to hear that,an thankyou for the good info. I'll definitely keep that in mind.
Great review! Well filmed and a geat balance between a lot of info but not tooooo long. Looking forward to seeing more!
Awesome man! Thank you for the ❤️
Fantastic looker. This is a future classic Im sure.
This car is definitely number 1 on my car bucket list now.
I watched like the first 2 min of it, and I subscribed right away. I like the way how you talk bud. Keep going!
Not sure how i ended up here (my endless search for arteon reviews) but you haveca very nice aesthetic and gave earnt my sub. Please for the life of algorithm get more cutaway shots
The Volkswagens used to have a regular house outlet (2009 Jetta) it’s a great feature, would be great if they still had them in the newer cars as well!
Great review from a knowledgeable Audi point of view. Excellent references between parts shared between brands too; much appreciated. It is interesting how much value is in the Arteon yet many people will miss out..great for the enthusiast however!
Thank you for your kind words! Keeps the engine going!
Glad to hear! Thanks for your contribution
this will be my 2nd car... for the exact same reasons you mentioned: spacious, comfortable, sporty enough. I'm excited 😬
Just an upgraded CC... I’m coming for you Arteon 😍
Hahaha! 😂
18:02 you got that wrong. this was actually my first car after i passed my driving test.
Started sweating bullets when he said that, btw I’m also looking at this as my first car, and wanna know what are the issues/negatives about this car and also the positives
You sound really nervous, or just struggling to breathe. I like the intro, thats what sold me. Dealer shots needs some work. This is my first video but I think this channel is going to be great
Ya man, gonna get better as time goes on. It’s all about practice!
I’m seriously considering this car
As you should be! If you buy something different let me know why and your reasoning.. maybe can review that!
Nice video, greetings from Brazil ✌🏻
Ive had a VW CC for about 8 years now. I absolutely have loved it, so much so that i think im just going to upgrade to its new version (the arteon)
Great style and quality for the price
I have the 2.0 TSI 280HP 4Motion DSG7 R-Line Arteon and I would never change it for an A5. A7 is another story though.
nnooaa32 me too. I fitted jb4 module to mine for some extra power
@@eitanrapp nice. what is a jb4 module?
nnooaa32 plug and play tune that doesn’t void your warranty. By Burger Motorsports. Noticeable power gain.

Fantastic review Mike .... well done
I've got the 2020 model, RLine 270HP Quattro ( yeap. It is the one from A6 Allroad).
Is a family car, the price was ok( 38k €) and from my point of view it is quite nice. Just before the pandemic went to Germany and push the car at his limit. 250km/h.
"We in USA are used to 300+ hp" and then Prius drives by 🤣 c mon man, we are used to V8's barely packing 300-350hp gas guzzlers, I'm European I drive VW I was so much against it in the USA due to maintenance cost, 3 yrs later couldn't be more happier and just a quick FYI that Arteon chip tuning will bring it north from 300+hp ,bigger downpipe and intercooler you are looking at the 350-60+hp from a 2L you can cruise at 80mph and still average 34mpg and have a power at the same time "Voilá" 🤗
Biggest thing I would say VW has to work on is better breaks and make cabin more quiet everything else is "par exallancė"
Cheers 🤗
Thanks for tanking the time to comment!
Improving quietness for sure!
Thanks for letting us know this wasn’t to sure about getting this Bc Ik I want the new ac type s but that’s prolly gonna be like 50k+ and this is a lot cheaper and still really nice
And then you void your warranty by tuning and modding.
PREACH! louder for the haters in the back.
Best review I have ever seen.👍🏼
The paddy shifter, I think, is a fun factor. And having those, it opens up to a bigger market, makes it versatile.
Reason why the button for the heated steering is on the center console is because of the R line wheel, the standard has the button on it
Excellent review! I'm in the market for this particular car and I'm waiting for COVID-19 to decimate the car industry and maybe pick this one up in the summer at a low, low price. It's true, VW has done a piss poor job advertising the Arteon, of which they did a much better job when the CC first came around.
Appreciate the comments! I don’t know what the future will hold, but it’s sure feeling that way! Don’t forget to sub!
From all the VW’s I’ve had since ‘05. My favorite is the 1.8t with 6spd tiptronic.
The center cup spot in the rear arm rest is for the Redbull small can. Redbull has a big influence in Europe.
Ahhhh good to know!
ACCELER8 🤙 My 2013 Mk6 has it in the front cup holder area. Trying to build my channel, would you mind subscribing please??
😂 Red Bull would have zero influence on automotive cupholders.
@@nessuno5403 I worked for Volkswagen, that is correct information that was passed down at the plant to me. Engineers and designers get their inspiration from things that are happening in the world, just like anybody else. Just because you don’t know something doesn’t mean it isn’t true.
@@RedsGarageOfBlue 😂 come back when you design and engineer something yourself, rather than rely on hearsay. Those smaller diameters are present in cars made outside of Europe and where Red Bull isn't even available. NICE TRY! Arteon R - 320ps (tuning to 525ps)
Appreciate the info!
I was awaiting Arteon before it even arrived, but most VW dealers in the US barely acknowledged it. We have at least 3 large VW dealers in my area and I never saw an ad for an Arteon and they only had one at a large local auto show. The original price was too high, but still less than Audi, however now you can get a new 2020 Arteon for $8-10k under MSRP. Good value at that price.
Same feeling!
hands down this is the sexies sedan out my new GLI is pushing 340tq dam i love it pulls hard

Good review (to be honest Doug D seems more interested in supercars that nobody can afford!) I also like that you know and compare the A5 and A7 - which I've been considering. But the A5 is way too small while the A7 is way to expensive. The Arteon seems like a good choice!

Hi I was wondering does the arteon have to run off premium 93 gas. Also will 87 regular damage anything.
Regular!
Very nice car! The white looks beautiful as well!
18:22 People like me want to buy it because we are Volkswagen fans. Buying an A5 Sportback is not worth it, but also cannot afford the A7 or RS5/7. Then Arteon comes out and solves the problems. (BTW I am an ex VW CC driver) This will be my next car before I earn enough money to afford A7/RS7 or E-Tron GT!
Good review, errr aren’t all dsg boxes sequential?? And even all auto boxes really??
In NA we don’t get the dsg/sequential, only the 8 speed tip! Only DSG’s should get paddles, IMO.
