    Never saw thins way of counting before. Amusing presentation. However; your antenna don't move to the beat and are visually confusing. Overall a helpful lessen. Thank you.

    Ti Te What? What's wrong with 1 e + a 2 e + a 3 e + a 4 e + a?

    • @cmguitarmusic
      @cmguitarmusic 8 лет назад +1

      +Charles McAbee It's even more confusing with eighth note sixteenth note combinations.

    • @cutchmaster
      @cutchmaster  8 лет назад +3

      +Charles McAbee I know. The 1 Ti Te Ta is a system used in our area of Texas. I think it comes out of the University of Texas. I had never heard of it before we moved here. Not all school systems use it. The Dallas county schools use the familiar 1 + 2 + that most of us grew up with but I teach a lot of students from the Tarrant county schools (like Arlington, TX and Mansfield, etc.) and they use this system. I plan to do some videos that use the more common 1 + 2 +.....

      I know these comments are fairly old, but what counting system would you say is more straightforward? I learned the 1 Ti Te Ta system in my state as well, but now that I'm in a university setting with more complicated rhythms I'm not sure if I should start teaching myself a new system or try to reckon with the one I already know.

      kinestasis The 1 e & a system is the most popular but I would learn whatever system your university currently uses.

      Dan Cutchen My current choir director has never expressly stated what system is being used since we all can sight sing (to varying degrees of ability), but I do hear him clarify a syllable as being "on the 'and' of the beat" every so often, so that must be the system he's referencing. Thank you for your help!

    Hi Dan, i have really liked your rhythm videos, very well explained. Do you per chance have a copy of the sheet you use to explain the different rhythms that I could get a hold of. Many thanks, a friend in the UK.

    Aqui no Brasil nós contamos assim:1&, 2&, 3&, 4& e os subdivididos assim:1eee, 2eee, 3eee, 4eee Eu achei muito legal esse jeito em inglês ( eu sempre quis saber como era a contagem de tempos em inglês!!). Muito legal mesmo!Muito bom seu trabalho!
