    Actually Dan you are the best person to explain how you count it properly. Still does my head in. How do you music people do this. I am learning music and the cello at 59 yrs old. Sciences /Health has been my life.

    Awesome video. I’m a beginner harmonica player about a year into my musical journey. At this point I’m mostly using tabs but I really enjoy learning how to count bests, read music etc. I’m really enjoying the learning theory part too. This is all do fascinating to me. Unfortunately it took me til 56 to realize how much I enjoy this. But it’s all good. I’m glad I started when I did at least. Thanks again!!!

    As I understand you, a simple way to internalize rhythm is to keep a steady pulse of 16th notes in the background mentally and then apply that to every pattern involving whole, half, quarter and eighth notes - this is a very understandable and usable method- thank you.

      Yes! Unless the song has very simple rhythms throughout and then I don't. But, as a general rule, it really helps to think of rhythms in the "4 parts to a beat" context.
