It’s over most likely. We need Philadelphia and Montreal to come through big for us.

I mean they did it to themselves, same as last year. Can't rely on the final game of the season to decide if you get in or not. Hope they do get in though

I like that first line, I wouldn't switch Doc off because that line has been great and needs a defensive conscious. He is a beast with his speed and forecheck and brings something different to the top 6. I believe he is a +14, has 16 goals, 17 a and 33 points. That is with out any power play time. That is better Rak, and smith and they both play on the power play. I would leave that first line alone and really try to beef up the middle/ bottom of the line up for next season.

i agree with Horwat, they really dont deserve to make it. They had months of mediocre play they are paying for.

Yup, it’s like in school weeks before a final you need a 90 or higher to pass the class, then you study as hard as you can to do it. If they played like this the entire season, it would be different. Just a shame it’ll be by another few points they miss by.

How about the Anaheim game. Game tied with 30 seconds left, we have a 5 on 3 power play and somehow manage to walk away with zero points

The penguins had 21 games where they lost by 1 goal this year. In those 21 losses, the penguins PP was 8 for 83. That's nothing short of miserable. The pens are in the playoffs if they actually had a PP that was not this mess. (I think that 8 for 83 stat is from rob rossi. ) The pens lead the league this year in giving up 12 short handed goals. The pens have 6 games this year where they lost after leading heading into the 3rd period (they led the league with 9 blown wins last year).

The season is over. Three games have to go our way. Too many variables, it's not happening. I'm really sorry for Sid. As far as the rest of them (players, coaches, management, owners) - must be nice to make all that money and be worthless at their jobs.

I heard people all season long saying " At least they got 1 point " about every OT loss . I told those people that the Pens couldn't afford to keep losing in OT .
Those players that the Pens discovered will be traded in the Summer for 38 year old worn out retirees ?

I have been thinking about that game all season. Early wins in cupcake games would have secured a playoff spot. It was so strange, they would show up for competitive opponents but mail it in for seemingly easy wins. And now they're gassing their tenored players when they could be taking it easy to remain healthy in the post.

  • @jessicalynn9775

I'm not rooting for the Flyers, I'm rooting against the Capitals. Totally different!
The Bruins/Caps game was so frustrating. Penguins could have secured their playoff spot on 10/10 against Chicago and they shouldn't rely on other teams winning/losing for them, but I dislike the Bruins so much and that ridiculous performance against Washington just adds to the list.

  • @Buckshot99

The Pens blew a 4 goal lead and lost inOT to Colorado, blew a 2 goal lead and lost in OT against Columbus. Blew a 2 goal lead to allow the Wings to get a point. These are games since the deadline. The Pens inability to hold a lead and a putrid power play are the reasons why they will miss.

goaltender interference anything a player does inside the blue paint if contact with goalie is made that prevents goalie from making the save, unless there own player pushed said player into goalie, as far as I've learned from watching my whole life

It's almost certain that Pens are eliminated from the playoffs. Even if they win by beating the Isles, they still won't qualify for a wildcard spot.

Harkins has zero goals in 44 games. Not sure why he is the guy inserted into the line up and then skates 5 minutes. would rather see Poulin, puljujarvi or gruden.

True and Sully ruining the second line by making Malkin play with stiffs all year (notably Reilly Smith) cost us many games. I was saying early in the season we needed to make a quick trade for a consistent linemate for Geno. Naturally in the last 20 games the 2nd line was vastly improved with Bunting on Geno's line.
