That was how a lot of people perceived Arnold at that time. Michael Biehn(Kyle Reese from the first Terminator film) basically said the same thing that Hamilton said about Arnie in an interview-that Arnold wasn't taken seriously as an actor and that he was seen as being something of a joke. I said on another post that this couldn't have been that much of a surprise to him-not so much Hamilton's own little personal anecdote but knowing how he was generally perceived at the time. Arnold's very intelligent, as Sylvester Stallone once said and I'm sure he was self-aware enough to know(even if he didn't care) how people saw him. But it worked out all right in the end and Arnold definitely benefited from being underestimated.
It'd really cool to see them here together, after such a long time. Im not old but Im close enough to fully appreciate the amount of time that has passed between starring in the movies and appearing here. This makes me want to rewatch the mvoies.

I remember hearing about that - on “Collateral Damage” right? Leguizamo got bored and started improvising to entertain everyone and the director encouraged him to do it during takes. Like many actors Arnold doesn’t have that skill in his tool box and as the star he could have shut that down but he’s no fool so he just went with it and kept up as best he could. Leguizamo wasn’t trying to show Arnold up, he was making the scenes better, which nobody could complain about, right? Enter the studio execs who saw the dailies in LA before they did on location and sent word that Leguizamo wasn’t saying what was in the script - as if the director might not be aware - and that they were going to send another actor who would just say the lines. The director replied essentially, “Are you guys brain damaged? He’s hysterical! If you’re lucky enough to have something like this happen on your set, you don’t mess it up!” The studio insisted that Leguizamo needed to be fired immediately to which the director responded that they’d have to fire him too, so they backed down. Silly.
Terminator 2 is still my favourite movie to this day. It's so incredible how it still looks better than like 90% of movies that come out today. The Terminators walking over the skulls at the start, my god is that scene absolutely jaw dropping. no "serious" actor at the time really wanted to work with Arnold - to them he was just this dumb muscle guy with an accent, but Arnold's worked with legendary people - Lucille Ball, Kirk Douglas, James Earl Jones and he used those experiences to build up his reputation and look where he is now
Uhm... the movie he made with Kirk Douglas was Cactus Jack... Nobody learned from that experience.
you can learn from any experience
@@evancortez2 You can, but I stand by my statement: nobody learned from Cactus Jack.
And where exactly is he now?! No oscars, no recognition whatsoever outside of his achievements in pop-corn testosterone filled action flicks from 80' and 90's! I loved the Terminator movies...went on a binge recently and watched most of them. Even the sequels were good. Linda was awesome.
Have you watched "The Sarah Connor Chronicles" as well? If not, you are in for a treat - although the Show got canceled due to Recession and the second Season is weaker - and no Arnold or Linda, but it was great and continued where T2 left off.

It's weirdly rough seeing your childhood heroes age, however gracefully they're doing it

John Leguizamo (who is famous for trashing egotistical actors) said working with Arnold on a movie was the single greatest thing of his entire career.
Silly.
Linda keeps that 80's look hair style
Terminator 2 is still my favourite movie to this day. It's so incredible how it still looks better than like 90% of movies that come out today. The Terminators walking over the skulls at the start, my god is that scene absolutely jaw dropping. There's a reason why all the movies after it have sucked, because the amount of attention to detail they put into making everything look and feel real raised the bar so damn high that nothing will top it.
@@dakotathompson2001 Idk. The older I get the more I appreciate the grittiness and horror of Terminator 1 even with how dated it looks compared to T2 (which stands the test of time visually).
